Updated Skincare Routine for January 2018

I believe that skin care routine need not to be too complicated so I'm sticking to the most essential ones which are, mainly for me, a gentle cleanser, cleansing toner, water-based moisturizer, lightweight sunscreen and a bit of an illuminator in the form of a cream. All the people who knows me know I buy a lot of skin care products but no, I don't use them all at once. This is because they either react negatively when used together or I'm just too lazy that I tend to always cut my routine short.

In this blog, I will be sharing to you a skin care I've been accustomed to (and been using everyday) but planning to change later on because I need acne products to incorporate on my skincare to fight my sudden breakouts. I don't have the most confident theory to tell what triggers them to pop out in clusters but I blame it on my terrible sleeping and eating habits, to name a few.

I just recently purchased this Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser in the hope of lessening my oil production. It's gentle on the skin just like the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser but I'm yet to try it for few weeks before I post a final review. After cleansing, I am using a toner to remove all dirt and oil that weren't fully cleansed my Cetaphil. I'm using this whitening toner from Gluta-C. I'm half-way through it and will post a review soon as well. After toning, here comes the moisturizing part where I use lightweight creams and sunscreen so as not to over moisturize. I love using this Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Facial Moisturizer for it's water-based and gentle. The Belo Essential SunExpert Face Cover is something I always keep on repurchasing for I haven't found any sunscreen as light and as gentle as this. On most days, I prefer to have toning creams like this Organic Whitening Cream from Glam Republic. It gives instant bright skin and it smells so yummy!

And there you have my low maintenance skin care! As I always say, it doesn't matter how many products you are using as long as they suit and keep your skin healthy the way it should be. Let me know the products you are currently using by commenting down below! Happy blogging!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice Review + Swatches

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice
Bought for: P450 | SRP: Around $10
Bought from: an online shop

I remember me obsessing so much about blushes that  hoarded a lot in different shades from bright pinks to peaches and corals until I started either giving or selling them away because my tiny stash can't seem to accommodate everything anymore. One palette that's so near to my heart is this Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice which is the only blush palette I decided to keep for myself until now because I just think that it has every shade of blush I need.

Claims (as per Ulta)
Makeup Revolution's Ultra Blush & Contour Palette is perfect for the professional highlighting and contouring application desired by all of us. Professional and highly pigmented, yet easy to blend, these palettes contain 8 shades of shimmer and matte blushers, merged baked blusher, and merged baked highlighter powder.
Benefits:
The ultimate blush palette offering you 8 exclusive and unique shades to suit any occasion
Shades can be used individually or combined to create the shade that you want
Set in a mirrored compact for touch ups on the go
Hot Spice: Rusty neutrals and pinky peaches smolder with intensity in this spicy collection.

Packaging

The product comes in a sleek black palette with gold carvings displaying the brand and its name. When you pull it open, you will see a large compact mirror inside that's about the size of the palette itself. Don't you just find it awesome? Overall, the packaging does not look cheap and feels so sturdy too. It's also perfect for travelling because you get 8 shades in just one compact!

Shade

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette comes in 2 palettes namely Hot Spice and Sugar and Spice. I had a hard time choosing which one to get to be honest. Sugar and Spice has all the prettiest shades of pink blushes you can't think of and it makes me think it would really make me look so fresh when I wear them. Hot Spice, on the other hand, has more warmth to it and since I'm not that super fair to begin with, I just settled to the palette that's has more muted pink-peach shades. I know my swatches does not give much justice but believe me, the colors look so much more alive and pigmented in person.

Texture & Ease of Application

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice has blushers with shimmers, matte and baked textures. Those that has a bit of shimmers (but not of equal amount) to it are the 1st, 3rd and 7th pans. The 2nd and the 6th are matte blushers. The one that's really glittery is the 5th pan. Obviously, the two at the right ends are baked highlighter (4th) and blusher (8th).

What I love most about them is despite the fact that it's affordable compared to high-end blushers, each pans have good pigmentation and I find them wearable on a daily basis. They are easy to disperse on the cheeks and a little goes a long, long way already. I, in fact, had this mistake of swirling my brush just twice and I get a really strong pop of color on my cheeks! It was the 1st pan I believe. I ended up redoing my makeup haha!

Starting from bottom to up:

  • 1st pan - it's almost muted brown in color as you look it in the pan, not too creamy but very pigmented. It's a beautiful peach shade once applied and is long-wearing.
  • 2nd pan - a beautiful peachy pink shade when applied with no shimmers at all, slightly powdery softness but not chalky
  • 3rd pan - gives a brighter flush of pink color than the 2nd, with obvious gold shimmers, texture is comparable to the 1st.
  • 4th pan - winterish in shade, this highlighter looks really nice and pigmented although I think it would suit those with cool undertones more perfectly.
  • 5th pan - does not look so wearable on the pan with its orange-y shade and glittery texture, surprisingly, it applies nicely and I don't know why but this blush is buildable to a darker shade of peach that can complement fair-skinned gals.
  • 6th pan - matte in texture, almost similar to 2nd in a lot of ways but one thing I noticed is that it attracts light so it looks like the 2nd with a bit of highlighting properties.
  • 7th pan - a bit shimmery and the least pigmented so it's sort of the blush that feels mistake-proof
  • 8th pan - this is a baked blusher that looks more subtle when compared to the others, similar to the 7th but attracts light better, it looks light a blusher and a highlighter in one.

Overall Performance

Since I have oily skin, I prefer to opt for the ones that are matte in finish. I don't like looking dewy all over and I think a bit of highlight on the high areas of my face is perfectly enough. I don't like emphasizing my cheeks with shimmers too 'cause I have large pores and huge cheeks for that matter. Although this palette have shimmers on most of the pan, I still love using this for it's long-wearing at about 6 hours which is quite a feat given my super oily skin. Shades are also buildable and wearable on a daily basis.

If you are starting with makeups, you can invest in this palette! It's a beautiful piece to use to mix and match shades without breaking the bank.

Most-Raved High-End Makeup and Tools That Made It To My 2018 Wishlist

In this post, I will be sharing with you what are the stuff I got on the lookout for this year. These are all high-end products (and which means prices are way beyond my budget but who cares lol) that I plan on saving up for. Sorry about the title though--it must have caused you confusion. So what's in each of these that made me root for them this year? Well, aside from all the remarkable feed backs about them that we've all been bombarded the previous years, claims are quite promising that I don't want to miss them for the world.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

This just sets everything in place without adding weight or texture so makeup won't look cakey. The fine pigments give a soft blur effect as well that gently hides imperfections.

Marc Jacobs Full Cover Re(marc)able Foundation

Need I say how remarc-able the coverage of this foundation is without the heavy feeling? Im in shade Bisque Light, by the way!

Benefit Porefessional Face Primer

The all-time favorite primer from Benefit that prolong makeup and blurs pores effortlessly! I'm yet to try the new Pearl Primer too!

Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation

I already have this foundation in my previous Sephora haul, unfortunately, I got the wrong shade. I think the most suitable shade is in Light 43 Warm since Light 45 Warm is too peachy for me.

Nars Orgasm Blush

Just the perfect long-lasting blush that complements every skin tone, no wonder it's the #1 blush in U.S.!

Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

This is also one of the products that offer good coverage and is long-wearing. I think I'm in the shade 4.0.

Sigmax Kabuki Kit

Sigma brushes has all the right tools to makeup perfection and believe me I'll hoard if ever, just if ever, they go on sale!

Conair Infiniti Pro 1875 Watt Salon Performance Dryer

I have cut my hair short so keeping it flyaway-free is actually a challenge for me. Having a good, affordable hair dryer that doesn't damage the hair is very much welcome.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

I have a travel-size bottle of this primer and I'm loving it because it keeps oil at bay and make my base makeups last  longer than usual!

And that's it for wishlist! What are the high-end makeups you're planning to get this year?

My First Ever Coastal Scents Makeup Brushes Collection Haul + First Impression Review

If you have been following me on my social media, you know very well how I've been obsessing over makeup brushes. I bought these from Coastal Scents way before I bought my Zoeva Makeup Artist Zoe Bag together with the complete 24-pieces Zoeva brushes. Maybe you've been wondering what took me so long to post this haul? Well, it was because I had these shipped straight from the U.S. that it literally took 2 months before it landed to my doorstep. No regrets, I'm totally hooked!

Frankly speaking, because of these past haul, I have more than what I need in my vanity right now but it seems like I can't get enough! I'm still drooling over makeup brushes from MAC and Marc Jacobs and wait 'til  be able to save enough money which I think would take months probably unless my fairy godmother would grant me one. I have to work my ass off for that but until then, let me live in bliss as I collect the more affordable ones--sold in cheaper prices without compensating quality!

I haven't used all of these yet but I've tried most. I actually spent my three days off (should I say absence?) decluttering, testing new foundations and putting different makeups on.

It was only when Coastal Scents hosted their biggest site-wide sale when I had the chance to browse all of their products. I plan on getting their palettes but since I'm currently more into brushes, I focus on those even more. Need I say how I was in awe upon looking at all of their brushes--they have a LOT be in sets or singles that I really had time choosing which ones to get! Each pieces, if not most, have synthetic and natural counterparts which made it harder for me to choose. If you want to know the difference between synthetic and natural, you can read this article right here. Basically, synthetic brushes are better for liquid or cream makeups and natural are for powder pigments.

Anyway, here are the brushes that are included in my haul. I also listed how much their sale prices are. I prefer to buy the singles because the sets lack one or the other.

  1. Classic Shadow Brush Small - $0.98
  2. Classic Shadow Brush Medium Natural - $0.95
  3. Classic Shadow Dome Brush Natural - $1.48
  4. Classic Shade and Flush Brush Medium Natural - $0.95
  5. Classic Blender Brush Natural - $1.48
  6. Classic Blender Crease Brush Synthetic - $1.25
  7. Pro Blending Fluff Brush - $2.48
  8. Classic Detail Mini Brush Synthetic - $1.25
  9. Classic Detail Round Brush Natural - $1.48
  10. Classic Angled Liner Brush Small Synthetic - $0.95
  11. Classic Angled Liner Brush Synthetic - $0.95
  12. Classic Angled Liner Brush Medium Synthetic - $0.95
  13. Classic Angled Liner Brush Large Natural - $0.98
  14. Classic SuperBuki Brush Synthetic - $2.95
  15. Classic Medium Tapered Powder Brush Natural - $6.48
  16. Classic Round Duo Fiber Brush Synthetic - $3.48
  17. Classic Flat Powder Brush Natural - $2.95
  18. Classic Flat Buffer Brush Natural - $1.95
  19. Classic Large Powder Brush Natural - $1.95
  20. Classic Blush Angle Brush Large Synthetic - $1.95
  21. Classic Angled Powder Brush Natural - $2.95
  22. Classic Foundation Concealer Brush Extra Large Synthetic - $1.95
  23. Kabuki Brush on a Stick - $2.48
  24. Classic Stippling Brush Synthetic - $2.95
  25. Classic Buffer Brush Large Synthetic - $4.95
  26. Bionic Flat Top Buffer Brush - $2.95

The brushes are quite larger than what I expected and they are dense too. They look sturdy as well but there's a couple large brushes that actually shakes on the ferrule but it's not of a big deal for you can just pull the ferrule towards the handle to lock it in. The big brushes are dense enough to apply makeup beautifully and  to cover any areas where you would like to apply makeup on. Not too mention that each of them has very soft bristles that does not prick the skin unlike some of the cheaper brushes in the market.

One thing I find off-putting about these brushes, particularly to those big brushes, they sort of turn frizzy after I wash them with warm water and my favorite Naked Glory Makeup Brush Cleaner. Although they don't shed during the process, I can't help but notice how the bristles sort of get fly aways and they don't go back to their original shape effortlessly. The natural brushes does not smell nice either after cleaning. I'm used to this though. Other than that, they are very nice brushes, perfect for beginners who are just starting with makeups and I'm looking forward doing my everyday look with these!

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige Review + Swatches

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation
Bought for: P259 | SRP:  P400+
Bought from: a trusted online shop

Here's a review on a drugstore foundation which I've never thought I'd really like--the Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation. To be honest, I wasn't really stocked to try it out when I bought this way back in October. I, in fact, just bought it out of curiosity and c'mon it's on sale! Sure, the packaging was really lovely and looks so classy with the glass bottle and a sleek black cap that shuts tight. Even with all these, added with positive feedbacks from my IG friends, I was hesitant to use it, probably because the first Wet N Wild product I have tried didn't work for me. But yeah, things surely get better in time and here's what I think about this foundation!

Here's what this product claims. I don't pretend I know much about the technology behind this foundation but I find its claims too good to be true yet very unique. Imagine what the chemists have been through to produce a foundation that would make our skin flawless in photos!
Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.

-High-performing, breakthrough formula
-Featuring light-adjusting complex to help prevent white cast in photos
-Tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash

The product has that spatula applicator and I remember the very first foundations I had from San San. It's easy to scoop out products with this but I still prefer those that comes with pump as it's ore hygienic and easier to use.

The scent is quite chemically that you might find it off-putting but I would let it pass. The foundation is quite thin in texture but not thin enough to drip or run. This kind of consistency makes me think that this foundation is lightweight and would dry matte which is quite the case. Golden Beige is quite peachy and dark on me so once it oxidizes, my face look really darker than the rest of my body. I'm giving myself a heads up to purchase a lighter shade the next time, maybe the Soft Beige perhaps. That's the one I'm supposed to get, had it not been sold out.

I didn't have any problems in terms of blending this foundation with my Beauty Blender because brushes usually takes a lot more time and they create streaky lines too. It dries semi-matte with a buildable coverage so it still looks like your skin but better. Oh, indeed that claim is quite true! It also wears comfortably on the skin but I'd like setting it with a loose powder so it would last longer and I could get rid of too much luminosity. I just don't like the fact that it oxidizes on my oily skin after 4 hours even though I am using a high-end primer. And just like most foundations I have tried, it is not transfer-proof and does feel sticky after a long day that I always come to a point where I badly needed cleansing wipes to remove everything so my skin can breathe from too much oils and dirt.

Here's me with Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation! I must say that it looks so photogenic with or without flash. I haven't used any filter for this photo nor edit it. The foundation just looks pretty nice in a raw photo!

Overall, I would say that I like this foundation had it been longer lasting. Anyway, I couldn't complain for the price I paid though and just imagine wearing foundation on this humid weather--nothing lasts very long. Other than that, I would say that this foundation does really deliver! If you are just starting with makeup, loves uploading IG-worthy selfies and prefer sporting natural-looking makeup, then you might want to give this foundation a try!

Purederm Skin Recovery Age Defying Collagen Mask Review

Purederm Skin Recovery Age Defying Collagen Mask
Bought for: Sale at P79/2pcs
Bought from: Purederm

Last time I went online shopping, I spotted these Purederm Skin Recovery Age Defying Collagen Masks together with other variants at a BOGO deal. I always see these back when I was in college whenever I pay regular visits to Watsons but just didn't get to buy them for whatever reason. My heart can't help falling in love with their colorful packaging and endless variants that I hoarded a lot when they go discounted. I'm thinking about Purederm's popular cleansing wipes which I genuinely adore and at the back of my mind, I'm hoping that these will work for me too. I had high expectations with every variant I got and these particularly didn't upset me. In fact, the experience was truly remarkable that I'm excited to share with you, girls, my thoughts about these drugstore mask sheets that performs best among all other I've tried.

Here's what the product claims:
This product claims to nourish the skin with its blend of Collagen, Vitamins E, Green Tea Extract, and Tropical Fruits. It also provide intensive hydration to help soothes skin and reduce signs of aging. The real pulp cloth retains more moisture helping pores to fully absorb Purederm's beneficial ingredients.
Purederm is originally developed in Korea and just like most Korean skincare products, it comes in unique packaging like this. Call me dumb but I think I would never think of having sachet bottles as my trademark! Haha! Anyway, it's really cute and I also like the fact that there's English translation at the back which I think is kinda rare for Korean cosmetics (or not?). I have encountered a lot of Korean products that I find a bit hassle to use for the fact that I can't read Korean and this should not be the case when everyone around the world is obsessing over K-beauty stuff.

Inside the sachet is the mask that's drenched in essence, smooth and hydrating but thinner compared to other masks I have tried. It felt so nice because that means that I don't have to deal with sticky, slimy essence after I remove the cotton wool. I have oily skin so I am not really a huge fan of products that will just clog my pores and trigger severe oil production. If you have oily skin like mine and prefer non-sticky masks, this is very well for you.

One thing I didn't like about it is that i find that the sheet itself is kinda thin so I was very careful not to tear it in the process. I have tried masks that have a thicker texture so I know this will tear easily. It's also messy to apply because the runny essence tend to drip on clothes so you be careful on that. You may want to lay down while you have this on and take advantage of the eye flaps!

The best way to apply mask sheets is to let put them inside a refrigerator (not long enough to freeze lol) before putting it on. But I keep on forgetting this so I just stay in front of the air conditioner for at least a couple of minutes to make the treatment more relaxing and to hasten nutrients absorption . This technique will help you especially if you are on the rush. After 10 minutes, I remove the sheet and pat the remaining essence on my face and everywhere else that needs hydration like neck, hands and feet.

Because this mask isn't as greasy as other mask sheets, I feel like I don't need to wash it off a bit but then I have to stay a bit longer outside so I had to rinse and apply some makeup. What I noticed is that my face looks hydrated, clearer and softer even after I wash it off and that I don't think moisturizer is still necessary. Even with oily skin, my skin feels so taut after washing the face but this mask helps restore moisture. I think the cold temperature helps but I hadn't experience the same thing with other face masks before. This one is just fun to use and I'll surely get my next sachets in the following days!

Purederm Skin Recovery Pearl Essence Mask Sheets Review

Purederm Skin Recovery Pearl Essence Mask, 18g
Bought for: P79/2pcs | SRP: P79/ea
Bought from: Purederm

I was never a fan of mask sheets until I discover these lightweight ones from Purederm. I remember why I used to hate mask sheets--it's because they leave a sticky residue which barely complements oily skin. I've became more interested right now especially after I consider the idea of 'slightly' rinsing off extra essence that wasn't fully absorbed by the skin so in a way, it's hydrated just enough and you don't deal with greasy residue anymore. I know it sort of defeats the purpose of the mask but it works better this way for me.

Claims
Pearl Extract has long been a favorite by Asian women to protect and beautify their skin. Pearl Extract's magical quality helps to tone and rejuvenate complexion, clear blemishes, minimize pores and reduce skin redness. Real pulp cloth retains more moisture helping pores to fully absorb Purederm's beneficial ingredients.

Packaging

The first mask I have tried from Purederm Skin Recovery line was their Age Defying Collagen Mask which I really liked. It was subtly scented just like Pearl Essence Masks and to be honest, there's very little to no difference in terms of the effects. Packaged in a cute bottle-shaped sachet, this mask sheets are easy to use and I'm pretty sure you all know the drill. Inside, you'll see that the clothe is soaked with essence but I noticed that it is not as much as the one with Age Defying Collagen Mask where the liquid tends to really drip all over. I guess Purederm should improve on that. I've tried a lot of Purederm Skin Recovery products, and some has a lot more essences than others. Why is that?

Just like most Purederm mask sheets, the clothe has eye flaps so every corner of your face receives treatment. The clothe is quite thinner than other mash sheets I have tried though and there are cuts all over which I can't figure out the use of. It was a bit hard to spread out and I even accidentally tore on the cuts even more when I'm trying to use it.

The product displays all necessary information about it in both Korean and English. Good 'cause I can't read Korean when I wish I could so that I can speak with my favorite Oppa lol.

The mask quite adhere nicely on the skin and even after 30 minutes, it was not even half dried on my face so a lot of its essences really go to waste. This mask sheets has a lot of claims that might only be noticeable after several uses like reduction of redness, blemishes and pores which does not happen overtime. I kinda shake it off, even though I thought they are worth mentioning, since all I need is a boost of hydration and instant glow.

I like this mask sheet because they are very lightweight, refreshing and gives a healthier complexion though for not very long. If you are into Korean mask sheets and has dry skin, give this a try! It does not clog pores, cause break outs and need I say break the bank?

My Shopping Box: Save on Shipping Cost Using This Referral Code + BDO Mastercard

I know shipping costs add extra weight to things you are buying online that sometimes it doesn't make sense anymore. You're trying to buy something online thinking it will allow you to at least save  a couple of bucks until you proceed checking out and get surprised how much you are paying additional to the retail cost of an item. How much more if you are doing overseas shipping, right? Nevertheless, if something is worth buying for, you just turn a blind eye and don't care at all.

There are two kinds of shipment being offered by My Shopping Box: air or sea. For U.S. orders, they offer both, but currently, for European orders, they only have air shipment available. The faster mode of forwarding, the pricier of course. No need to fret though because I have a good news for everyone. You can use my referral code right here to lower down your shipping cost: NICHLFI2 or click on this URL: https://my-shoppingbox.com/client/#/register/NICHLFI2.

A Guide For First-Time Buyers of US-Based Online Shops With My Shopping Box

Sometimes, 'window shopping' isn't exactly the happiest thing--it's when you let your meager dreams happen every now and then. Ano daw? Well, I used to browse on different e-commerce sites of US makeup brands for the reason that it's much more economical to buy from direct suppliers since there are no additional taxes and everything. Problem arises because it's only either they don't ship outside their region or if ever they do, the parcel just got stuck in customs for inspection (what usually happens with international shipping unless they don't claim it). I'd rather go for the first one though since there are cargo and freight companies now like My Shopping Box, who does the rest of the hard work right after you paid for your items. Now, we can enjoy deals straight from the original manufacturers of our beloved makeups brands!

Being the first time buyer like me, I'm also skeptical buying stuff from outside the country because to make it worse, you have to pay using credit cards, shipping costs are way, way more expensive than what we are accustomed to with local shipping and transit time feels like forever. We are on the same page and believe me, I read tons of both positive and negative feed backs before I plunge head first. In a matter of achieving success or getting fooled, you just have to take a risk to get to the verdict. At the end of everything, the most important part is the fact that you learned (boom, hugoooot!).That's what I did though and if I haven't, I don't think I would be this confident to buy from US-based online stores one more time and seek the help of MSB.

With this saying, here's my simple guide on how you can take advantage of sales and deals from international shops if you are residing in the Philippines.

  • If you are on tight budget and looking out for discounts, I suggest you subscribe on brand's mailing list so you can get the first dibs on information about sales and other deals. If the mailing invites do not pop up automatically, just manually scroll down to the bottom part of the website where you usually see the 'Subscribe to mail' option.
  • If you are fully decided on getting the item/s, just provide your U.S. address on the checkout page that MSB automatically generates once you create an account with them. This U.S. address will be the destination of your items and MSB will have it inspected and repacked once received before sending it to your physical address in the Philippines. Don't worry because for every essential step, MSB have your e-mail address and contact numbers on file to update you about the status of your purchases.
  • Make a mental estimation or utilize MSB's calculator (with a bit of allowance) on how heavy or how large your parcel would be so you won't get surprise about how much you're going to pay for the shipping. This is an important step. I don't think MSB would take the extra mile to have your items ship back to the online shop just in case you complain for the shipping cost. Make sure to only order a certain quantity that you are willing to pay for. Here's how MSB charges for our parcels.

  • If you are willing to wait and maximize your savings, I suggest you go for the sea shipment. It takes time but come to think of it, you still get the same items--nothing more, nothing less. And oh, by the way, they also offer 10% discount on shipping for BDO Mastercard holders. Hooray!
  • Don't worry about your items getting squashed along the way, for MSB will secure it the best way possible by putting bubble wraps and putting them in sturdy boxes. Just relax at the comfort of your home and don't worry about having to deal with custom people anymore 'cause you'll receive the box right at your doorstep.

To give you an idea, here's what exactly transpired:

November 24, 2017 - I placed an order. It says 'Paid'.
November 2, 2017 - It was updated to 'Processing'.
November 30, 2017 - Parcel is on its way. Finally after 5 days!
December 1, 2017 - Status said 'Fulfilled' though I wasn't really sure what that means.
December 3, 2017 - I received an e-mail saying that my parcel is bound to be delivered today at my U.S. address. That's December 02 for U.S. times, by the way.
December 06, 2017 - I received an e-mail confirmation saying that MSB received a package at my MSB suite coming from Coastal Scents.
December 7, 2017 - I paid the item using my BDO Mastercard and I received 10% off shipping. I chose the sea and I was charged $5.38 instead of $5.98 for a box smaller than a standard-sized shoe box.
December 16, 2017 - I took the liberty of checking the status of my order and I'm glad that it was updated to 'In Transit' meaning my parcel could be inside a boat right now sailing to the Philippines, yey!
January 01, 2018 - I asked for a real time update where my package has already been and two days later, MSB replied. They said that my parcel is out for delivery (no specific place mentioned) and is expected to arrive end of January.
January 22, 2018 - A rider came right through our doorstep days before the promised time. Took a total of 47 days.

Overall Thoughts

I am actually satisfied with My Shopping Box service. It was my first time but I'm overall happy with my purchase. I know some of you might say that it didn't do me any good even though the stuff I got are on sale because I still need to pay extra with shipping. I know and I computed it ahead of time. I still leaves me the fact I have saved from this purchase rather when I'll buy my brushes here in the Philippines. Worse case scenario--there are only limited type of brushes here. I read a few bad comments about MSB but I focused more on the stories of hassle-free transactions from customers in which I think I currently belong to. I can't guarantee that I won't face any problems in the future but I hope MSB should improve on their customer service with regards to immediate action and response just in case. I would definitely avail the service again in the near future, but I'm open to suggestions and other freight couriers too. That way, I can better compare which is the most convenient to use.

Let me know if you already tried purchasing from online stores abroad too! I would love to talk about what we got! Comments your suggestions too! Until next! Good night.

Fresh Breath 'Til Morning With Dentiste Plus White Hygienic And Herbapeutic Nighttime Toothpaste

Dentiste Nighttime Toothpaste
Bought from: Dentiste Toothpaste
Bought for: P275

I have been suffering from canker sores due to my braces but luckily, I'm about to get rid of it. My cousin who is a licensed dentist sort of tied tiny wires to prevent my teeth from unnecessary motions before they remove my braces in three month's time. It tends to loosen up every now and then and somehow pricks my inner cheeks, thus, the painful sores. Mouth sores are just so hard to endure especially when you have wires everywhere that it really stings whenever it comes into contact with the sores, agree? Having braces is not only about looking cool, you know! I know they will heal on their own but Dentiste Nighttime Toothpaste hasten the process (though they don't claim it) for which I'm so thankful for.

Claims

Basically, what this product claims are as follows:

Dentiste Nighttime Toothpaste is the world's first night time toothpaste. Dentiste is made with 14 natural extracts that inhibit the growth of night time oral bacteria as we sleep so breath stays all the way till morning. Dentiste is free from harsh chemicals and safe for those with sensitive teeth and gums.

Packaging

The white and green combination suggests that this toothpaste is made from safe and herbal ingredients. It even came with a small leaflet that includes information about the product like who it's intended for, active ingredients, direction for use and everything else you can think of. The overall packaging looks quite nice and informative. It's size can still be very handy to tuck away to travel pouches hassle-free. If it's not, then don't worry for it has smaller versions that are intended for a few days out. It's sturdy as well--sturdy enough to give me a hard time squeezing the product out from the tube. I'm not kidding!

Scent and Taste

The product has a cool minty scent just like most commercial toothpaste but with a sweet herbal taste. If you are new to products that are using natural herbapeutic (combination of herbal and therapeutic properties) extracts, then you might find it unlikely. Anyway, I think it's tolerable.

Texture and Consistency

Similar to most toothpastes, thick and creamy and is tinted mint green which I find so cute for I like pastel colors haha! This toothpaste belongs to one of those products that don't lather very much. But please do know that products don't need to lather much to assure you that they are doing their job. I'm actually more accustomed to products that do not have much foaming agents like shampoos, facial cleansers and now---toothpaste. Foaming agents are just foaming agents--they do nothing but merely thickens a product. So there, we can now conclude that products that do not have much chemicals to it still work just the same.

Performance

As we look closely to the ingredient list, we can clearly say it got loads of different plant extracts that work altogether to keep your teeth and breath not just fresh-smelling overnight but healthy and clean too. To be honest, I find the claim too good to be true because even mouthwashes can't do anything to keep my mouth fresh until the next morning. I mean how could a simple toothpaste do all the tough job? But then again, you can't underestimate a product juts like that. To answer your question, this product was able to lessen, but not completely get rid, of mouth odor when I sleep for more than 6 hours. I noticed that my breath is a lot less severe and that my canker sores heal faster compared before. That, alone, is enough to make me adore this product. Another scenario where I proved myself that this product really works was when my wires accidentally pricked my tongue and I experienced sting whenever I eat or brush my teeth just two days ago and now it's gone. It could be the powerful combination of herbal extracts which soothe the pain and hasten the healing process.

Overall Thoughts

This product is quite more expensive compared to commercial toothpastes but who cares, it works! I am also using this in the morning and I like the fact that I don't need mouthwashes anymore because this, alone, preserves fresh breath for a long period of time. No wonder they had millions of tubes sold ever since! So if you want fresher breath in the morning, or you're up to an overnight with friends, it would help you a lot if you bring a tube of Dentiste Nighttime Toothpaste with you!

Celebrating My Blog's 3rd Year Anniversary Through a Giveaway!

Celebrating my 3rd Blog Anniversary through a small giveaway as a way to show appreciation to everyone. This may not be enough but it came from my heart. By the way, this giveaway is open to Instagram only. Please visit https://www.instagram.com/hannapoleng/ for the full mechanics. Thank you so much!

My First High-End Brushes: Makeup Artist Zoe Bag With Zoeva 25-Piece Brush Set

Courtesy of Google

I can still sharply remember the first day I fell in love with Zoeva Makeup Artist Zoe Bag while browsing through Sephora Philippines. It was the only thing I tell my boyfriend--either he enjoyed me gushing about the brushes or he just successfully hide his annoyance. From then on, I promise myself to save for it no matter what. I mean it's what we do, right? Fighting for something that's worth our while. Haha! The original price with all inclusions is P11,625--too pricey and yeah, I couldn't afford it.

#SomeoneAsks Why and How I Started Blogging

I was born kikay. Can't you believe that even at 2 years old, I was already playing mom's red nail polish--I can already distinguish timeless colors, you see? Kidding! But yeah, even at young age, my mom would know I would grow up to be who I am now. I was always a beauty enthusiast and some people would even look at my old pictures and say, dati pa lang pala, naga-ayos ka na. My hair was always neat, my stuff are always organized and hygiene was something my mom taught me way, way back. I can still remember the first beauty soap I use which was Dove, the first moisturizers I use in alternate, Ponds and Olay. Basically the attitude you are required to possess before you start becoming a beauty blogger.

Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Clearance Sale + What I Have On My Cart

Who's dreaming of closets full of Victoria's Secret lingerie, fragrances and accessories? I bet no one would say no. Well, here's an amazing news--you can now start reaching your closet goals by taking advantage of the much-awaited Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Sale just in case you can't wait for June. Sale products include brassieres, panties, sportswear, fragrances, accessories and a lot more which you can avail for a whopping 50-70% off slash their retail prices. Imagine a full-priced item that originally retails for $64.50 go down to merely $19.99? Unbelievable, right?

The official e-commerce site of Victoria's Secret ships to almost all countries all over the world but I don't suggest you have your parcel dropped straight from U.S. as import taxes and duties may apply. That means, you are more likely to pick your parcel up at the post office and most of the time, the custom people would demand for taxes way, way higher than what you actually bought. Goodness! You may either use third party shipping couriers--take My Shopping Box for example--they give you a U.S address and will ship your purchases straight to your doorstep. Shipping cost already incur possible taxes and services. And...I find that it's much more reasonable!

VS is known for their best lingerie collection and I guarantee there's plenty of colors and styles to choose from! Since I have been overspending last year, I'm trying not to splurge very much this time so I'm limiting my purchases to their sheer mists alone but...I'm actually still contemplating. I can't stock up much on items and just pile them up for long since my family and I are planning to move out. Anyway, here are what I'm thinking of getting!

What I have on my cart...

So basically, Victoria's Secret conducts semi-annual sale during the end of the year until the first month of the succeeding year (December-January) and during mid-year (June). If you can't wait for June, this is the only time you can take advantage of their clearance sale. So anything else I can say to convince you? Just kidding. Don't be too impulsive and shop wisely! You can visit victoriassecret.com for more information!
