Wet N Wild Beauty Shop Review + Thanksgiving Haul

Hi, there! So as you know, I like shopping through US websites. Unfortunately, most of them doesn't ship to freight forwarding companies like shippingcart.com, myus.com and my-shoppingbox.com. If you're still reluctant or doesn't know the process of using freight forwarders for international orders, I've made separate blogs about them. You may check the links down below! Any way, I'm very pleased that Wet N' Wild ships to warehouse addresses so wherever you are in the world, you can shop straight from the manufacturer.

THE BRAND

One of the best things about Wet n' Wild is the fact that they frequently do sales but of course, sales are harder to miss during holidays and sale seasons. I highly recommend to subscribe on their mailing list to get first dibs on new launches and coupons/promotions.

The shop has lower threshold for free shipping. By purchasing $25 worth of items, you already get free shipping for U.S. orders. Shipping normally takes up to a week depending on the address. If you prefer rush shipping, you may do so with an additional charge of $15.99 for 2-day shipping and $25.99 for next-day shipping. I always prefer the more economical option so I took the free shipping.

They offer makeup freebies! Most of the time, the shop give out makeups in full-size. While on your cart, a pop-up box normally appears and you just have the option to add to cart the item you wish to come with your haul.

They offer multiple payment methods. You can pay with any major credit/debit cards, amazonpay and afterpay where you can pay in portions (for U.S. customers only) or the most convenient for me is the Paypal where I store my cards.

In terms of makeup variations, Wet n' Wild has everything to offer from base makeup to tools. You'll never run out of stuff to buy. I'm just hesitant to purchase makeup items because knowing the brand, their items are either a hit or a miss. I'd rather drop by at kiosks or boutiques to test their products' pigmentation, finish and longevity.

The website is pleasing to the eyes but sometimes non-mobile responsive. I don't have any issues browsing through desktop though I had a hard time shopping through my phone especially when I was carting items, I couldn't find the exit button to return to the shop. I probably did it during maintenance but either way, I hope I don't encounter the same issue next time.

WHAT TRANSPIRED

I placed my order last October 16, 2019 and I received an e-mail confirmation right away saying that they received my order. I keep my receipts and stuff for records but I decided not to post it here for security purposes. Wet N Wild shipped my order October 19, 2019 so that was three days after I placed my order. I'm pretty sure they received tons of orders that particular day so I was still glad they shipped my items pretty quick on a sale season. Normally on other shops, it may take to up to a week before my items leave the warehouse.

On October 25, 2019, I received an e-mail notification from my-shoppingbox.com that a parcel has reached my suite. All I have to do is pay and authorized the shipment and the courier will just have the order shipped to me. Since I opted for the sea cargo (slower but cheaper mode of shipping), I had to wait until December 07, 2018 before I get my items delivered to my doorstep. That's pretty fast because I'm expecting 2 months from the day of authorization to get it.

So there, I received my orders in the best condition. - no dents, marks, damages or anything. I checked my receipt and I got everything complete. My items has been handled and packed well so kudos!

Overall, it was a pleasure doing a transaction from the website. The overall business is fast and easy since we're only talking about the transaction that transpired from the day I ordered up to the day it was delivered on the warehouse. It was exactly 9 days - could be less because freight forwarders still process and check the items before posting on the website and notifying the customers.

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige Review + Swatches

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation
Bought for: P259 | SRP:  P400+
Bought from: a trusted online shop

Here's a review on a drugstore foundation which I've never thought I'd really like--the Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation. To be honest, I wasn't really stocked to try it out when I bought this way back in October. I, in fact, just bought it out of curiosity and c'mon it's on sale! Sure, the packaging was really lovely and looks so classy with the glass bottle and a sleek black cap that shuts tight. Even with all these, added with positive feedbacks from my IG friends, I was hesitant to use it, probably because the first Wet N Wild product I have tried didn't work for me. But yeah, things surely get better in time and here's what I think about this foundation!

Here's what this product claims. I don't pretend I know much about the technology behind this foundation but I find its claims too good to be true yet very unique. Imagine what the chemists have been through to produce a foundation that would make our skin flawless in photos!
Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.

-High-performing, breakthrough formula
-Featuring light-adjusting complex to help prevent white cast in photos
-Tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash

The product has that spatula applicator and I remember the very first foundations I had from San San. It's easy to scoop out products with this but I still prefer those that comes with pump as it's ore hygienic and easier to use.

The scent is quite chemically that you might find it off-putting but I would let it pass. The foundation is quite thin in texture but not thin enough to drip or run. This kind of consistency makes me think that this foundation is lightweight and would dry matte which is quite the case. Golden Beige is quite peachy and dark on me so once it oxidizes, my face look really darker than the rest of my body. I'm giving myself a heads up to purchase a lighter shade the next time, maybe the Soft Beige perhaps. That's the one I'm supposed to get, had it not been sold out.

I didn't have any problems in terms of blending this foundation with my Beauty Blender because brushes usually takes a lot more time and they create streaky lines too. It dries semi-matte with a buildable coverage so it still looks like your skin but better. Oh, indeed that claim is quite true! It also wears comfortably on the skin but I'd like setting it with a loose powder so it would last longer and I could get rid of too much luminosity. I just don't like the fact that it oxidizes on my oily skin after 4 hours even though I am using a high-end primer. And just like most foundations I have tried, it is not transfer-proof and does feel sticky after a long day that I always come to a point where I badly needed cleansing wipes to remove everything so my skin can breathe from too much oils and dirt.

Here's me with Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation! I must say that it looks so photogenic with or without flash. I haven't used any filter for this photo nor edit it. The foundation just looks pretty nice in a raw photo!

Overall, I would say that I like this foundation had it been longer lasting. Anyway, I couldn't complain for the price I paid though and just imagine wearing foundation on this humid weather--nothing lasts very long. Other than that, I would say that this foundation does really deliver! If you are just starting with makeup, loves uploading IG-worthy selfies and prefer sporting natural-looking makeup, then you might want to give this foundation a try!
