Gluta-C Intense Whitening Body Scrub Review

I just ran out of a body scrub so I've recently wandered around Watsons and looked for different drugstore body scrubs until I decided to try this one from Gluta-C. This was the first time I am going to try something from the brand so I was so excited. Also, I'm really into trying out different products as of the moment as I wanted to gauge which product works best for my skin type. It's actually one of my hauls last month (check out my hauls by clicking the 'hauls' tab on my homepage), and finally, I get to start using it weeks ago.

To start off...let me first commend all the packaging of Gluta-C products. Hahah! I don't know if you find them cute, but I just do! The body scrub comes in a tub containing 120g of product which isn't bad considering that it only retails for P99! This is the cheapest among all the other Gluta-C full size products. For a student like me, price is really the verdict of whether to buy a certain product or not. Since I've gone to Watsons for over a hundred times and a hundred more times looking through this product, I've finally been able to buy myself a tub and post a review for it!

What I like about the packaging is that it has all necessary information printed on the back part of the tub. The best thing about this product, for me, is the smell! It reminds me of my perfume from Elizabeth Arden. The smell of Green Tea is very prominent the moment you unscrew it. And it just... I mean...Oh my g! It's just so intoxicating and very relaxing I could go all day sniffing the formula until it runs out! That reminds me that this scrub has Green Tea, making it more ideal for tired skin that needed both physical and mental de-stressing. However, if you aren't so much of a Green Tea fan, you'll find the scent quite strong and bothering.

When you open the tub, you'll see that the formula is very creamy and thick. The scrubs are so visible that you might think it's harsh on the skin but it's actually the other way around. The creamy formulation moisturizes the skin and the grainy texture is abrasive enough to slough away dead skin cells. It really smoothen skin's rough areas in just minutes after application!

According to the packaging, it contains Glutathione, Vitamin C, and Papaya Enzyme, all known effective as skin lighteners. For the lightening effect, however, I noticed that my skin lightens a bit although I cannot say it's because of this scrub since I'm using it together with a kojic soap and a lightening lotion (not Gluta-C Soap though). Although it's nice to know that it works well with different brands of product. It doesn't sting or dry out my skin and doesn't cause me any allergic reactions. I guess it's hypoallergenic lol (not mentioned).

Gluta-C Intense Whitening  Body Scrub--What I like?
  • smells like green tea
  • not harsh on the skin
  • softens and smoothens skin instantly
  • availability
  • packaging
  • moisturizing
  • brightening

Gluta-C Intense Whitening  Body Scrub--What I don't like?
  • need using a lot of the formula for satisfying results making it less affordable since you tend to consume a lot for a single wash
  • my former scrub is still better
  • although I like the packaging, I prefer it to be in a tube so the application will be much easier and hygienic
  • has artificial beads which are harmful for the environment

Verdict: I am quite satisfied with the product and the pros just outweigh the cons so this is good product in the market. However, my previous scrub which is St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub works better than this, hence, pricier. My favorite scrub retails for 250php but every grain is worth it. And I rather buy the latter. And for best results, use it together with Gluta- C Intense Whitening Toner Spritz, Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Night Serum and Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Day Cream.

Anyway, that's all! Btw, do you mind checking out my other Gluta-C products reviews? They are linked down below, just check them out! Happy blogging!

Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Cheeky and Matte Review

Hey, it's Hanna! I just wanted to share with you my current nail color! It's actually been five days since I had my nails done. I just wanted them to breathe for at least a few days since I have been coloring my nails nonstop for months. Ultimately, they resulted to a really dark-stained nails. Ugh!

Anyway, the stains are still evident, but I couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to search through my stash already and find a shade which would give me some good vibes! Just remind me to change my base coat, because it does not work in protecting my nails from dark polishes.

So for my mani today, I use (in order of using): Caronia Nail Hardener & Base Coat, Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Cheeky, Caronia Fast-Dry Topcoat, Bobbie Basic Top Coat in Matte, and Caronia Kwik-Dry & Cuticle Conditioner.

I wish I could show them to you, unfortunately, some of the photos in my blog got deleted and a lot of posts have been affected.

Procedure:

After applying the base coat (I seem to cannot paint my nails without it as it makes me feel naked lLOL), I painted my nails with Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Cheeky. I let it dry for at least 10 minutes. Then I applied a second coat to make it last longer. Allowed my nails to dry. Then, I applied the Caronia Top Coat for a glossier finish. Applied one coat of Bobbie Top Coat in Matte. Then the Caronia Kwik-Dry for faster drying and smudge-free nails! And then, tada!!! I now achieved a purplish gray nails! It also has micro-shimmers. Sorry, my camera just can't capture them! :(

Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Cheeky--What I like:
  • affordable for just only PHP36
  • highly pigmented in just one coat (so far the best polish from Bobbie that offers me good color payoff)
  • widely available in any drugstores nationwide
  • toxic trio free
  • dries quickly
  • does not create bubbles or ugly streaks
  • the brush just easily fans out making application easier
  • doesn't chip easily
  • doesn't make my nails yellow
  • with super cute holo microshimmers

Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Cheeky--What I don't like:
  • couldn't think of any!!!

Bobbie Basic Top Coat in Matte--What I like:

  • gives my nails just the perfect matte
  • affordable for PHP36 also
  • formula's the same with other Bobbie Nail Cremes

Bobbie Basic Top Coat in Matte--What I don't like:
  • can be very streaky if you don't know how to apply polishes on your nails
  • dries quick so you have to work double time

Verdict: Get yours now! If you love painting your nails often but do not want to spend a lot, this is your best option! It comes in wide variety of shades in which you could choose from! I often stumble upon seeing displays of Bobbie Nail Cremes in Watsons because all of the shades look great and you can hardly choose the best of the best!

Mini Haul: Gluta-C Intense Whitening Products

Okay, I guess it's official. I'm a certified addict. A beauty product addict, which resulted to me being a suki at Watsons pretty much for the past few months. I have been saving my allowance for this haul. For me, this is a good time to own these as I needed some lightening products, because my skin has been terribly damaged from last semester's swimming class. I didn't want it at first, but I didn't have much choice because I wanted to still be classmates with my friends.

Anyway, I think it would be easier to conduct this operation: bring back my skin, than adjusting to people I've never been with in class before.

So...a couple of months ago (if my memory serves me right), I have bought different facial products from Gluta-C. I did not try them that night after heading home from the mall, because I was still using other products from a different brand. Still, I decided to buy them anyway even though the prices are steeper than other drugstore products which are also glutathione-infused. But now that I had more time to compare, I found out that there are much more skincare products out there that are unbelievably way more expensive. Okay, say hello to me, trying very hard to justify my purchases.

Now, I am trying all these products and I am hoping that they will yield good results because for a student like me, who's broke AF, every penny counts!

L-R: Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Serum (PHP199.75), Gluta- C Intense Whitening Body Scrub (PHP99), Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Day Cream (PHP149.75), Gluta-C Whitening Toner (PHP99), and Gluta-C Insta-White Cream (not on the photo - PHP59.75)

So that's my Gluta-C products hauls for my face! I will be posting individual reviews for each soon! Stay tuned! And thank you, for dropping by!

Bobbie Nail Polish Solvent and Correction Pen Review

For my January Haul, I included these two products from Bobbie - best known nail polish brand producing premium yet affordable nail cremes in the Philippines - the Bobbie Nail Polish Solvent and Correction Pen!

BOBBIE NAIL POLISH SOLVENT

If you love painting your nails like me, you've probably experienced this terrible moment when you have found out that your once-perfect nail polishes gone gooey - creating streaks and bubbles as soon as you apply them on your nails. This is a common scenario and you could only think of saving them. No need to worry because the fix is just so cheap and easy. Give them a second life and save your money.

Pros:
  • It's very affordable at PHP29 for a 30ml glass bottle. Way cheaper than competitors.
  • Comes with a plastic seal which helps prevent drying.
  • It really dilutes your old thickened polishes in just a few seconds.
  • It's toxic-trio free.
  • Available in many drugstores nationwide

Cons:
  • It's messy when poured into old nail polish bottles. I hope it comes with a medicine dropper instead to avoid spillage.

BOBBIE NAIL POLISH CORRECTION PEN

Got shaky hands? Worry no more! Because all those unwanted mistakes can be easily removed with this correction pen from Bobbie! If you love trying out different nail arts and accidentally paint the part on your nails that should not be painted, they can be easily removed with this pen! As an amateur nail artist, it's my biggest challenge to make my nails look like it's done by a pro artist, and I think it's not impossible with the help of this product.

Pros:
  • Affordable at only PHP39.
  • Can be used easily since you can hold it the same way you are holding a pen.
  • Definitely functional and ergonomic.

San San Nail Polish Remover With Vitamin E Review

Admittedly, I am really into nail polish. I love changing colors like every 3-4 days and honestly, removing it without drying my nails is always a challenge for me. I always buy the Jackie Nail Polish Remover in any drugstores or sari-sari stores nearby which retails for only 5-pesos. This was before I didn't know any better. It's so cheap that I don't mind changing my nail polish as often as I like since I've had this thinking that it won't cost me too much. Sadly, it caused my nails to look dry. I tried San San Nail Polish Remover with Vitamin E and it saves the day!

A few days ago, I ran out of my other San San Nail Polish Remover (the one that comes with pads) and which is more expensive by at least PHP20, so I decided to buy the nail polish remover in bottle form instead. It comes in cute baby blue plastic bottle. Easy to use, and seals well to ensure product doesn't leak.

What I like?
  • cute and durable packaging
  • very affordable at only PHP30
  • available in any HBC stores nationwide
  • the scent is not that strong compared to others with acetone
  • with Vitamin E
  • acetone-free (non-drying)

What I don't like?
  • dries quickly just like any nail polish remover with acetone
  • hardly removes glittered polishes

Would I buy this again? Yes! But I'd love to try the Cutex Nail Polish Remover first to gauge which nail polish remover is better!

Chic Nail Polish in Honeydew Green Review

I am so loving my current nail polish, just sharing! LOL. It makes my nails look so yummy as it looks like legit Honeydew. They also remind me of those pears my mom loves to buy every new year.

What I love about the Chic Nail Polish is that they have a variety of shades in which you could choose from. I actually wanted to buy every single one of them since they really do have an amazing shade selection! I do not have any problem with the brush/applicator since it doesn't create streaks. But yeah, remember that applying nail polish requires a bit of skill too. Practice makes perfect, right?

It is also free from the toxic trio (Toluene, Formaldehyde and Dibutyl Phthalate.) Moreover, Chic Nail Polishes are almost available in any drugstores and retail stores nationwide. One bottle costs as low as PHP33!

There's just two things I don't like about this nail polish: the formula tends to become thick easily and could create those annoying bubbles. Best to reapply in thin layers. I already used three bottles from the same brand and they are pretty much the same.

My San San Nail Polish Collection

I have once been a Sansan Nail Polish hoarder that I ended up with having too much bottles than my nails could handle. I love them because of the wide variety of colors to mix and match. They are easy to apply without streaks and they are long-wearing too! So far, here are the colors I enjoy using in rotation.

From L-R: Blush Pink, African Plum, Seal Brown, Velvety Garnett
From L-R: French White, Warm Blue, Sandy Brown, Purple Breeze, Tropical Lemon, Sea Green
From L-R: [Blossom Kisses, Berry Bloom, Sweet Glow (Rosanne Collection)], [Purple, Nude (HD)]
From L-R: Violet Gleam, Metallic Lilac, Touch of Beige

Hortaleza Professional Hair Spa Treatment Review

As a beauty product junkie *ehem*, I always drop by the beauty stores at every possible chance I get. Either I buy some stuff I might be able to blog about or just because I wanted to discover something new. The thing which I will be doing a review on today is a new discovery for me.

Two months ago, I had my hair dyed in my go-to salon. I also had their keratin treatment as recommended by one of the hairdressers and she also advised me to come back every month for maintenance. This is basically to get rid of rough and frizzy hair due to strong chemicals found in hair dyes. I know you're all aware of that or already has the idea if you color your hair that frequent.

That being said, I honestly could not afford to get my hair pampered that often (still schooling, you know). So I head to the HBC store this one time, the nearest one from my place, to find something which I could use for my do-it-yourself hair treatment. I love DIYS. The thing with DIYS, first, no more overspending, plus you can play with and/or customize the mix depends on what you need, and sometimes you could even discover something new from it.

Anyway, one of the HBC staff told me that this Hortaleza Professional Hair Spa Treatment is best for color-treated, rebonded and straightened hair. They told me how effective this product is which I initially thought was only said to get a sale from me. Can you believe my trust issues? Kidding! But yeah, there's always a place for doubt unless you actually tried things yourself. I wasn't disappointed, mind you.

Thanks to them I got the chance to try the magic of this product! And I wanna thank them as well for patiently answering my questions until I finally gave in and bought the product. They are very accommodating. Always have been.

Hortaleza Professional Hair Spa Treatment is available in 20g sachets (less than PHP20 I think?), 250g tub (for PHP153) and 500g tub (which retails for around PHP200-PHP300). Should I have known that HBC has a bigger size, I would have bought that instead. Buying the bigger one is the more practical option.

*I poured some honey on it for better effects, thus the color.

What I like:
  • The price. It's very affordable  at just PHP153.
  • It surely would last a long time. I bought it two months ago, and it's still half full. Of course, the frequency of usage is a big factor. Once a week is recommended or just when you feel like your hair needs a boost of moisture.
  • Consistency is thick and easy to distribute to the hair and scalp.
  • The smell. Even after two days, the smell still lingers in my hair! It's just so sad that I need to use it only once a week. I'm actually tempted to switch to this one as my conditioner. LOL.
  • The effect. I love how it makes my hair feels so soft and smooth that you can't tell you've only had a DIY treatment! Looks like my hair is as soft as when I was just out from a salon session.
  • Exclusively available at HBC stores nationwide.

What I don't like:
  • It has parabens. Although it's not yet clear whether parabens are unsafe or not, it still has a bit of an effect on me.

Vaseline Healthy White UV Lightening Even-Tone Lotion Review

It was summer (ages ago) when I got this uneven skin tone from swimming and other outdoor activities and it really freaked me out! I badly needed a lotion that would even out my skin tone and I don't know which one to use anymore as supermarket shelves are loaded with so many brands, all claiming for the same benefits such as whitening, moisturizing, anti-aging, etc. And if you're new to this, you're probably clueless as to which is the best option. I guess we will never know unless we have tried them all.

I've tried so many lotions before such as Silka, Belo, Olay, Dove and a lot more - you know, the famous commercial ones. They are all moisturizing, just had difference mostly on the texture, price point and efficiency. That summer, I was using Myra E Hand and Body Lotion (the red one), though it really smoothened the texture of my skin, it didn't actually help in making my tone even. So it had been a problem of mine since then. And just recently, my mom bought me this Vaseline Healthy White UV Lightening Lotion which is what I am going to review today.

Vaseline Healthy White UV Lightening Even-Tone Lotion
Bought for: Around P200
Bought from: SM Supermarket

What it claims:
Helps match your dark skin areas to tour lighter ones.

What I like:
-The packaging. It comes in pink plastic pump bottle for mess-free application.
-The formula. It has Vitamin B3 which is known to help for the improvement of skin moisturization, appearance of aging skin, and evens out skin tone. It has Triple Sunscreen as well to further protect your skin from harmful UV rays. It does not contain any harmful chemical as well.
-The texture. It's very light and creamy, although it does not dry quickly.
-The smell: so clean and subtle.
-The price. You can avail this for around PHP200 in Watsons, SM Supermarkets, and other drugstores nationwide.

Application:
I apply this twice a day: morning and night.

Verdict:
As for the 'matching' part, I have seen effects while using this product. I don't know if I should give the credits to this lotion alone for the brightening effects or to the soap I am currently using - Kojie-San Lightening Soap. Nonetheless, they are a good combination that helps lighten my skin effectively in just three weeks! I am not really an outdoorsy person or someone who travels during vacation so that really helps a lot - staying at home.

As always with beauty products, consistency is the key. I will definitely add this to body lotions I trust. Let me know your favorites too!

Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream Review

I am an unica hija (only girl child) in the family. If you think I am living like a princess, hell, you are definitely mistaken because I am always asked to clean the house. I also do a bit of laundry, wash the dishes, though it's my older brother's task. And because of stress factors and so much chores every day, I felt like my hands became dry and rough, so I tried to look for products that will suffice the needed nutrients for my hands to go back to its normal smoothness.

I think I'm am getting less and less hopeful until I found this product! As my friends and I went to Watsons last month, I found this secret treasure I've been looking for all my life LOL. So yeah, it's been months and months of trying new hand products for my tired and almost lifeless hands until I get to try this lotion from Beauty Formulas!

So today I am going to review this Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream.

What it claims: Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream helps to restore and improve the condition of your hands and nails by working  through the night. A rich non-greasy cream formulation which is rapidly absorbed into the skin with added benefits of micro pearls containing Vitamin E and A to moisturize hands and nails. Leave skin soft, smooth, and supple!

One thing I love about it is the color of the packaging. It's in deep purple and I love purple! It's also very convenient to use since it comes in a squeeze-type tube packaging.

The color of the lotion is opaque white with microbeads. You can tell that there isn't a lot of these though. I think if I open the tube, I will be able to count all the beads inside. Kidding.

I guess the formula is best for those who loves nail polish like me since they could make the nails dry and dull. For only PHP124 per tube, the price is way cheaper than other hand lotions, considering the amount you'd get.

The formula is very thick and moisturizing. You can already see the effect the first time you apply. Its moisture lasts for a while too. That makes it worth every penny.

What I love most when applying the lotion into my hands is the time when I get to watch the beads dissolve and blend into the formula. And the best thing is felt the next morning! You'll definitely notice that your hands become softer and smoother. It surely lives up to its name Overnight Beauty Care For Hands!
