Review: The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel

*Sorry for the low quality photos. I deleted all of them accidentally. :(

Hey, guys! I'm up to my 90th blog post this time! 10 more to achieve my blogging goal this year! Look who's excited for another year. Hmm.

This will be another review post, this time, about The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel. I was supposed to write and post it yesterday when my entry for the FERN-C contest consumed most of my blogging time (I finished my entry by almost midnight already with all the photo meme editing and the super slow internet connection, unfortunately), so yeah, I apologize. Anyway, here it is!

I'm not gonna start with 'The Face Shop is blah blah..." because this product is actually one of my first-ever hauls from a non-drugstore brand so I was still not that familiar with most of their products (if you read My The Face Shop Purchases blog post, you'll know.) But one very thing that I know about them is that they are one of those famous Korean brands (at par with Tony Moly and Etude House) which specializes in skin care and is dedicated to the usage of natural ingredients for their innovations.

This comes in a big tub, bigger than what I have imagined when I saw it on their Facebook page. It was on a BOGO deal so I had to grab it on a whim! It's better than never! I forgot the exact price but I think I bought two big tubs at their SM Manila branch for less than PHP200? It is a great product that you can avail for a fraction of other high-end brands' price, with results just the same.

The packaging is just pretty standard. I mean it's in green plastic tub and I don't really expect it to be in like glass jars. Who would want to take extra weight on your bags when you bring it with you while you travel? None, right? But because I prefer the ones in pump bottles and if you know the reason why, I know you'll agree. Product-in-jars/tubs doesn't sound hygienic at all especially if you have to dip your fingers in and out. It worsen bacteria buildup, that's all. Unless it comes with a spatula, I could be so forgiving about that. But since it does not have any, we just had to work with what we have right now. I suggest you clean your hands thoroughly before dipping your fingers.

The expiration date is also written on their packaging and it is still good until 2018 so you won't need to worry whether or not you can consume all the contents on the given time.

It is says that the formula is composed of 99% Jeju Aloe, and the other 1% is composed of so many ingredients! Like, what!? How did it happen!? I don't pretend I'm good in Science, particularly Chemistry so I won't criticize what's in it.

But, take a look at the ingredient list and know what I'm talking about. You just have to look at the bottom since most of the description and such are written in different language.

Also, it says there that 'formulated with 99% aloe barbadensis leaf extract from Jeju to soothe and moisturize the skin! This gel can be used for various purposes, including moisturizing, soothing, facial pack, and after-sun care. As aloe barbadensis leaf extract is absorbed into the skin without leaving any sticky residue behind, it soothes and moisturizes at the same time.'

Anyway, none of the ingredients ever broke me out so this is a really good product to consider especially if you have acne-prone skin. I sometimes think that aside from being oily, my skin is also sensitive as it is really hard to look for products that would not cause me pimples. Thank goodness I found this! Not only does it soothe my skin (especially after using the Sooper Beaute Peeling Cream which is something that puts my skin on a tough work), it also keeps my skin smooth, soft, well-soothed and hydrated.

When you opened the tub, there is still this plastic-like covering intended for use to be extra hygienic. As for my case, I removed it already since it sometimes tends to slip from my grasp and land on the gel. It's a lot unhygienic since the gel would tend to spill out in small amount and out the crater. To minimize the mess, I just have to remove it permanently.

Everytime I see the gels, all I can think of is playtime! I mean it's really a fun thing opening the tub and you would be surprised how fluffy and cute what's inside.

So this is the actual content. It is transparent in color, pretty much how gels look like but of course, this is much thinner and lightweight. It smells good too! Another thing I like about is is when you catch a whiff of it, you'll think it's like 100% Aloe Vera Extract. There's no hint of alcohol as well, as in none.

It may be a bit runny for the formula but it's the reason why application is so easy. Once you applied it on your skin, you just have to massage it in circular motion and your skin would not find it hard to absorb the gel, leaving it moisturized, hydrated and cool. It's a bit sticky/tacky at first which goes away after a few minutes but not greasy enough to annoy and would leave a healthy-looking dewiness on the skin.

The best thing for me about this Jeju Aloe is that it can be applied almost anywhere in your body without you ever feeling uncomfortable at all since it is very lightweight. As for me, I apply it after shampooing my hair to lock in moisture and prevent hair dryness. As Aloe Vera is known to help reduce dandruff and boost hair growth, this is perfect for everyday use. I also apply this gel on my face using a dime-size amount whenever I feel like my face needed some breaking free from other skin care products. Ideally, I apply it at night to boost skin regeneration. I can't also miss a single night that I don't apply a small amount on both my eyebrows and eyelashes. This is effective for me as I notice that my eyebrows grow back fast and my lashes too strong. And lastly, I use it as my body moisturizer and would really help prevent dryness! Sometimes, I would use it like a primer for lotions and other heavy moisturizers.

To summarize it all, I've never met a product this multi-tasking! I recommend it to everyone especially those who have their skin tortured by the sun's harmful rays! You can also use this to fight aging, acne and reduce the visibility of stretch marks. This is worth the price and I think I would always be coming back to this.
