Quarantine Shopping: Real Techniques Makeup Brush Haul

It’s been a while. I’m super entangled with this 2014 action romance series, Healer, so I couldn’t really find time to blog for the past few days. I’ve also been decluttering stuff and posting them online to make way for new purchases and to also make some money in order to survive in this crisis lol.

But of course, the impulsive me is still unstoppable. I’ve spent some time in Shopee browsing for new makeup brushes specifically from the brand Real Techniques. They have been releasing limited edition brush sets and revamping their packaging from time to time that I couldn’t keep up. Unfortunately, we are no  US citizens so no matter how hard I try to keep my hands on all the latest releases, availability and delivery period are never allowing me.

So whenever I see a brush set or an individual brush being sold at my convenience, I just couldn’t help it. Here I wanna share the brushes I was able to collect this quarantine period.

This set is called the Real Techniques Summer Nights Set which was released some time last year if I am not mistaken. It features five full-size brushes - all of which (except the RT 200 Expert Face Brush) you cannot buy individually. This is what’s great about buying sets. Not only you get to save on the possible individual cost, you also get brushes that are innovative. Of course, everything feels durable and the synthetic hairs are soft. I got this from the shop @andreanuguid for only P850 plus some cashback.

Here we have individual brushes - Real Techniques Complexion Blender and RT 201 Powder brushes. Maybe you are wondering why I have two of the powder brush? Well, you can never have too many, right? Lol. Kidding aside, I love big brushes but it doesn’t make sense to own two of the same kind. Honestly, I just realized it now so I am selling the other one right after I post this haha!

Anyway, for those who are wondering, I got the complexion blender (P480) and one powder brush (P522) from @radium88 and the other powder brush (P500) from @angelasam1.

Then I also got myself the Real Techniques Eye Shade + Blend Set (P500) and Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges (P450) from @myfaveshop. Their name speak so much about my feelings for them. This is one of my favorite shops as they have a lot of authentic makeup tools and customer service is really good. The seller is also accomodating of my petty requests.

I actually already have the eye set in the old packaging and I even have the deluxe crease brush in the new one (got it from another makeup brush set) so basically that leaves me with two base shadow brushes and three deluxe crease brushes in my stash. Remind me to get rid of the extras, again!

Here are few other brushes I got from different sets - Real Techniques Artist Essentials Set and Real Techniques Everyday Essentials. I apologize because I forgot to include the smaller brushes in the picture.

The first brush is called the Instapop Face Brush which has an angled side. I got it for P580 from @radium888. This is an okay brush but I don’t find myself reaching out for it often.

The RT Artist Essentials has five brushes (foundation, contour, highlighter, blush, liner, lipstick) in the collection and all of which you cannot buy separately. I got it for P1000 from the same shop. For me, this is one of the best makeup brush set out there. All of the brushes are versatile and the way they were shaped is very efficient too.

From @sydeshoppe, I got the Everyday Essentials Set. And unlike the other collection, it comes with four full size brushes (blush, setting/highlighting, concealer,  and buff) and a miracle sponge. Every piece in this collection, you can buy individually so if that’s what you are planning, just get the entire set to save more. I got mine for P1050. That leaves me paying for only P210 a brush! Sweet!

So that’s it for today! I am still excited to find and try more brushes and I promise to write them a review in the future!

How about you? What have you been splurging on this quarantine season?

Real Techniques Artist Essentials Makeup Brush Set Review

I haven't done a thorough research yet but I think there's not much written reviews about these Real Techniques Artist Essentials Makeup Brush Set. I am happy to be able to write one myself. I cannot help myself from buying makeup brush sets from Real Techniques whenever I find available stocks from legit resellers online. It's not everyday that local beauty stores here in the Philippines restock on brushes so I consider myself lucky to be able to snag this particular set when I had the chance.

Five (5) full-sized face and eye brushes make up the Artist Essentials Collection. They come in different solid colors and sheer brass handles that contribute greatly to the overall aesthetic of the brushes. Correct me if I'm wrong but all the brushes here are limited editions and cannot be bought individually. Most RT brushes in sets comes in different sizes and shapes and sad news, they aren't here for long. This is the main reason why I am buying them. For a makeup brush collector like me, variations of brushes are important, not just quantity.

I guess RT is finally clearing off the old RT packaging - the ones with black rubber handles. I like the old packaging but I think they have their reasons for the revamp. One of the good things is that we could have better options. There are a lot of counterfeit RT brushes that look similarly like the old ones so with these changes, we can now make sure that we're only buying authentic pieces.

The handles still have the brush names so despite their versatility, it's nice to get familiar with them and to know what purpose they serve.

The brush heads are made of soft, synthetic bristles and as always, the overall look and feel is very sturdy and definitely of quality. My old Real Techniques brushes have been with me for years. The oldest are like seven years old and with proper care and storage, they can even last for more years.

I have used and washed these for more than five times in two months and I'm not surprised at all that they do not shed and they also keep the shapes intact. A bit flaring occurs from time to time especially to the Spotlight Fan and Soft Accent but brush nets always are my remedy. They are also easy to clean with minimal to no staining with my BeautyBlender Liquid Cleanser.

The best thing  about RT brushes are the price! A set ranges from P1000-1250 depends on where you buy it but I got mine for only P1000 after applying discounts and points plus free shipping! Anyway, let's talk about each brush.

The RT 217 Expert Edge Large  has a symmetrical cut featuring five unique edges; precisely apply liquid or cream foundation and contour makeup. This is similar to one of my favorites - Real Techniques Expert Face Brush from my buffing brushes. It has a domed head but has three multifaceted angles that blends makeup seamlessly in all areas of the face. The tip allows it to apply foundations on hard to reach areas like sides of the nose and lips. The size is enough to blend your contour like a dream too. For an additional function, you can use it for baking and setting the under eyes. It works for both liquid and creams.

The RT 421 Soft Accent has a soft, tapered cut that blend cream highlighter or blush. I tried it as a concealer brush but it doesn't work well because it's not as dense as I expected. For me, it's even small to be used a blush brush unless you really don't have a choice. I'm just used to medium-sized, fluffy brush heads to do my blush.

The Soft Accent brush has a tapered cut on one end and it's like a smaller version of Real Techniques Instapop Face Brush. The cut makes it easy to put on top of the cheekbones to apply highlighter. The size and feature make it more applicable for setting the undereyes and other smaller part of the faces. Despite not much uses, I'm still keeping it because again, I like variations in my brush stash and the pink handle is just too cute.

The RT 420 Spotlight Fan has a precision fan shape that softly glide powder contour makeup or highlighter. This is the very first duo-fiber fan brush I ever own and I don't know but I am liking the trend haha! I didn't like duo-fiber stippling brushes in general but if they are shaped like a fan brush, I think I am buying.

This particular brush has a light pink handle that adds an extra oomph to the overall look. The brush head is kind of dense on the bottom but sheer on the top part. It disperses highlighter in the most natural way possible. You can even use it to powder your face very lightly especially if your have dry skin that doesn't need to much setting. You can also use it to lightly contour and bronze. Just a very effective brush that's worth keeping.

The RT 317 Smudge Liner  has a thin, angled bristles to apply and smudge liquid or cream eyeliner. This brush feels and look just like my favorite Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush - it's firm, thin, wide and it gets the job done faster. The size is about the same except the bristles of the RT brush is much more flexible. On the other hand, the one from RT is advised to be used an eyeliner brush. You know that brushes are supposed to be versatile so we can use it however it pleases us.

I think this brush is effective to create perfect strokes and to smudge it for a nicer effect. However, I have small, round eyes so I reach out to thinner and smaller liner brushes more. I think I will be using this as a brow brush and I will keep it because of the solid purple handle.

The RT 425 Lip Smudge has dense, domed bristles to apply and blend cream lipsticks and liners. This is like your basic pointed pencil brush and I'd like to use it to smudge and blend eyeliners on my lower lash whenever possible. What I like about this is the softness and density of the brush that makes gentle enough even for lip use. This brush works well for the lips but I would like it to be a little bit smaller.

Overall, Real Techniques Artist Essentials Makeup Brush Set is one of the best brush collection I purchased from Real Techniques. The bristles are incredible soft and the handles are really cute! I really like every single brush in this set and I think they are just a great investment whether or not you are a professional.

What is your favorite brush/brush set from Real Techniques?

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist Review

I woke up very early today which is unusual. It's summer in the Philippines and the temperature soars up to 33° at 8:00 AM. Ugh. I had a hard time sleeping too because of the anxiety I am feeling since I'll probably resume working on the 15th. I couldn't wait to go back because I'm running out of funds but at the back of my mind, I am hoping for an extension. This community quarantine is a miracle in disguise for workaholics like mom and I as we're finally able to get some rest. Apart from that, it scares the hell out of me every time I think of the possibility of acquiring COVID-19. It still isn't safe as long as the antidote is nonexistent.

My apology for the early morning sentiments! By the way, I'm making the most out of my remaining days at home so here's a quick review on a mist that I have been using alternately with St. Ives Yaaas! Face Mist Happy Grapefruit. I've been using the Nature Republic quite longer than the one from St. Ives and it took me a couple of months to give a feedback but later is better than never, don't you think? Haha!

CLAIMS

Ah, how refreshing! Made from 92% Aloe Vera gel, Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist is enriched with vitamins and is great for keeping the skin hydrated, soothed and cool throughout the day. The Aloe Vera used to make this product comes from certified organic farmers in California (CCOF) and is kind to even the most sensitive of skins, making this suitable for all skin types. Whether you like using this to set your makeup or to stay chill on a hot day, this is a definite must-have in your beauty routine!

INGREDIENTS

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (92%), Alcohol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Polyglutamic Acid, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Mentha Viridi (Spearmint) Extract, Melissa Officinalis Extract, Carbomer, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyester-5, Polyquaternium-51, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Water, Parfum, Disodium EDTA

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist has three (3) key ingredients namely:  Aloe Vera Extract that soothes, cools and refreshes the skin; Hyaluronic Acid that hydrates to keep the skin plump and elastic and Calendula Flower Extract that improves blood circulation and reduces the appearance of scars and wrinkles.

PACKAGING

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist comes in a green plastic bottle with necessary information such as the claims, ingredients, directions for use, as well as the expiration date of the product. It comes with 150 ml amount of mist, just like the one from St. Ives but I find this one too bulky and definitely not what I would reach out for travelling. I am also not a fan of the spritz bottle because is dispenses the liquid in droplets rather than fine mists. So you won't end up with soaking wet face, hold the bottle 10-15 cm away or much farther and then fan your face or gently pat it in to absorb the product.

SCENT, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

It has a subtle Aloe Vera scent that isn't offensive to sensitive noses. I like it actually. The mist itself is gel-like rather than water-like and it's due to the high AV concentration. That makes it feel more hydrating to the skin. Despite the thicker consistency, it's easily absorbed by the skin.I think this mist is a great priming moisturizer but not as a setting spray. I find that the droplets makes my foundation move around. Those that sprays more finely are much preferred.

PERFORMANCE

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist is an good product for its price. I like how cooling and refreshing it is and how helpful it can be to dry, thirsty summer skin. In a tropical country, heat is very intense so it's nice to stock up on products like this. Moreover, it is free from parabens, mineral oil, and artificial colors making it suitable for any skin type. I like how it gives me that soft, dewy skin every after application. It's not exactly my favorite mist but it's worth it for its inexpensive price. The best thing - no breakouts! Just don't use it on peeling, broken skin because it might sting a bit.

And by the way, I'm pretty sure that there are counterfeits circulating online so make sure to buy only at reputable stores and resellers. Best sellers always have imitations. The nerves of these copycats LOL. I guess that's pretty much everything. Have you tried Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist? Care to share your thoughts?

St. Ives Yaaas Face Mist in Happy Grapefruit Review

Here's a brief review on a new product from one of my favorite skincare brands, St. Ives. I'm not really sure whether or not it's new in the global market or it has been everywhere and I just missed it. Knowing commercial brands who migrates to online selling, sometimes what you think is new has been out in the market for quite awhile. I've never been to the drugstore lately so pardon me if this is a mistake. Nonetheless, it was only recently when I saw this on St. Ives Shopee account - it was on sale - so I grabbed it.

St. Ives Facial Mists collection comes in three variants: Zing! Face Mist Energizing Orange, Ohmmm...Face Mist Relaxing Lavender and Yaaas! Face Mist Happy Grapefruit. This particular variant sells out the fastest, at least based on where I bought it from. It was sold out in less than 3 minutes from the time it went on a flash deal.

CLAIMS

Brighten your day with St. Ives hydrating face mists, made with fragrances designed to provide mood-boosting benefits. Spritz YAAAS for an instant boost of happy thanks to vibrant notes of grapefruit, peach, and orange. Get glowing with good vibes! Made with 100% natural hydrators. Paraben-free. Dermatologist tested. Cruelty-free.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Close your eyes and mist 10-12 inches away from skin, before or after make-up for hydrated, glowing skin (think face setting spray!). Spray throughout the day while on the go.

PACKAGING

I like the colorful packaging and the presence of too much visuals is very playful but not irritating to the eyes. It sprays on well and the long, slim bottle is sturdy and travel-friendly.

SCENT, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This product has a strong citrus scent. The smell of grapefruit is very prominent. It lingers for quite a while then gradually disappears after a few minutes. I like it to be honest however, it's heavily fragranced that those with sensitive noses may find offensive.

The consistency is water-like. It feels refreshing upon spritz and it also hydrates the skin very effectively. Thanks to the combination of natural hydrators it's equipped with. This product absorbs easily without any stickiness or discomfort.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

I'm not really into face mists but with this kind of temperature we have during summer, I find myself reaching out to this product more often than usual. My skin feels drier and tighter probably because of the heat so it's nice to have a bit of refreshment and hydration at the same time. It's quite inexpensive for a 120 ml bottle so I wouldn't mind repurchasing over and over.

St. Ives Spritz A Little Yaaas Facial Mist can be used under and over makeup for a natural, dewy finish! It's very lightweight and the best thing - I did not breakout from using it! The list of ingredients is very minimal and I do not find them threatening to any skin types. After finishing my first bottle, I'm planning to buy the Lavender variant next! So what do you think of this product from St. Ives? Good or not?

Sexy Boom Breast Up Dietary Supplement: Effective or Not?

I feel a little embarrassed sharing this blog but for the sake of everyone who are madly looking for a review of Sexy Boom Dietary Supplements, allow me to do so. Please don't think I'm vain or desperate. My intention is purely to share my overall experience and recurring side effects. I've been getting lots of queries about this product on my Shopee account after purchasing from Shopee Mall.

Prior to splurging for over P3000, I also googled for real reviews of this famous Thailand product. Uortunately, there are very little to no informative articles available online. I've only seen a few sellers and exaggerated claims and testimonies that I think are just plain paid sponsorship and marketing. It was very frustrating but being a moderate risk taker as I always am (which I found out after answering Gcash Invest Money questionnaire to know my investing appetite), I finally caved in and bought a total of five boxes (15 caps per box) which is supposed to be enough for a month and a half.

Busty breasts and more defined curves are my greatest insecurities. I always envy girls with 34-36 bust size and even those who can afford surgeries. I'm not crazy yet to pay thousands for silicone boobs not only because it scares me but because I simply cannot afford it LOL. To be honest, my hopeless case makes me consider it but chivalry and fate still gives me hope that however I look, someone out there will love and appreciate me. After all, curves doesn't define womanhood.

CLAIMS

Enhance your womenly features naturally with Sexy Boom. Helps increase your chest size with all natural ingredients. Natural herbal extracts to help increase chest size and firmness; smoothens and perfects complexion; improves and enhances blood circulation; helps with post menopausal women; helps balance your hormones. See results in 2-3 weeks of regular in take. Results may vary. FDA approved. GMP certfiied. HALAL certified.

INGREDIENTS

Isolate Soy Protein: 100mg/ Cordyceps Extracts: 100mg/ Lychee See Extract: 100mg/ Dong Quai Extract: 100mg/ Coenzyme Q10: 30mg/ Alpha Lipolic Acid: 20mg/ Grape Seed Extract: 10mg/ Ascorbic Acid: 10mg/ Zinc Amino Acid: 10mg/ Marine Collagen: 10mg/ Collagen Peptide: 10mg

PACKAGING: FAKE VS. AUTHENTIC

The box is rectangular, has pink and white theme and is sealed in plastic. The back part shows the ingredient and concentration as well as the directions for use, expiry and manufacturing dates. It's good that they have English translation too for international buyers like us.

Now be careful when buying these supplements. I bought the first 2 boxes from a suspicious seller online and I was just overwhelmed as to how cheap she sells these on her account. One box from her is only P650 while the registered shop from Shopee Mall offers a box for P995. P650 per 15 capsules is still too much but I only could think of the 345-peso savings at that time. I asked her in a polite manner, careful not to offend her, if her items are authentic and she immediately got back to me and said yes. She told me that those were excess from her stash that she decides to just sell for less. Out of curiosity, I asked her why. I was still waiting for her to say that that they are not effective so I can just forget about it, but she gave me only vague explanations that eventually had me backing off.

Anyway, I wanted to see the results myself so despite being skeptical, I just decided to buy from her. Twice. The lack of reviews made me think that it's not at all effective and that Sexy Boom is just lying about these supplements being a bestseller in Thailand. If they are, shouldn't there be at least some people who would talk about it online? But then again, being open like that in public might appear as bold yet embarrassing move for some just like how I am feeling right now. Anyway, that sparked my curiosity even more.

Moving forward, I wasn't aware then that Sexy Boom have counterfeit products. It only gave me a hint after buying 5 more boxes from a different shop. I was still hesitant but I wanted to see the end even though they will not be favorable. I eventually found out that a registered shop under Shopee Mall (@brightskinphilippines) also sells authentic Thai products (at least what they claim). One box with 15 capsules retails for P995. The good thing is that they offer wholesale prices - P725 (2-4 boxes) and P625 (5 boxes and more). They also offer 10-20% cashback on top of that. I bought it on a Tuesday so I got 20% cashback from the total amount I originally paid. Doing the Math, I got 625 worth of Shopee coins back in my account (1 Shopee Coin = P1). I wished I knew this shop first but I couldn't be more thankful because that was then when I figured out that one or the other is fake.

I couldn't remember if there's any difference at all in the outer cardboard box. They are pretty much the same in my memory. I didn't dare take a photograph of the first 2 boxes I bought because I never thought I would be writing this blog. The lilac-colored capsules appear pretty much the same as well. The only significant thing I could remember from the first 2 boxes to the ones I bought from Shopee Mall is the appearance of the blister packs. The back aluminum foil from the first seller is plain silver/gray which reminds of me those candies we loved to buy during our childhood years. Nothing fancy at all. Now the ones I got from @brightskinphilippines were painted black and pink with the letters SXY. The blister pack as a whole is smaller in size than the former ones I own.

Here's the catch though - I don't have any proof that the first 2 boxes are fakes and the ones I bought from Shopee Mall are authentic. The lack of information online is frustrating. My only proof is what my guts is telling me. I believe that Shopee Mall won't partner with sneaky, suspicious sellers. I think no one as big as Shopee would put their brand on the line. Secondly, the one with colors and prints looks more premium to me. The ones I bought from the first seller just looks cheap and to be honest, my initial thought was "so this is P650?". I was kind of expecting something with a more pleasing aesthetic considering the price.

PERFORMANCE AND SIDE EFFECTS

These are the very first breast enlargement supplements that I have tried though there are still others that you probably are more familiar with. These works like Vitamins not just for the breasts and butts, but also for the skin because of the aforementioned ingredients. The very popular and the first on the list is the Collagen. None of the ingredients sounds threatening to me. Taking this for more than a month, I noticed my skin breaking out less. It's also working with my current skin care. Right now, my skin is more glowing, smoother and less textured.

FIRST SELLER: I took the first 30 caps for 15 days (one before eating in the morning and one before eating at night). I started on the first day of my menstruation in March as advised. Taking the first 30 caps, I noticed that my stomach was always upset. I also had the urge to puke from time to time. My poop is always not as solid as if I have lactose intolerance. My menstruation was not the same as usual and the color of the blood is slightly different. I had a hard time releasing blood so there's the discomfort. I also had menstruation for 2 days when it's normally 4-5.

SECOND SELLER: Since I felt like I was using fake supplements, I decided to do it over again this time with the new capsules I bought from Shopee Mall. Again, as advised, 2 caps per day on the first month and 1 cap per day on the succeeding months. Now here's the side effect that I am most concerned about. Basically, I started using the capsules from this seller around 4th week of March. I haven't had my menstruation for the month of April. You know the cycle. Normally, we shed blood every after 28 days. It's even more alarming because this is the very first time I skipped a menstruation. Yes, it's never happened before. Until now, I was waiting for it but it's never coming. To give you an idea, the last menstruation I had was before ECQ which started March 15 in the Philippines. It's now May 7 yet nothing!

I know what you're probably thinking right now. Oh god no. I AM NOT PREGNANT. FOR SOME REASONS, I JUST KNOW HAHA!

Aside from this, I'm not feeling anything different in my stomach unlike what happened previously when I was taking the first 30 capsules from the first seller.

Now for the moment of truth, is Sexy Boom Dietary Supplements effective or not?

You cannot expect a significant boost in your bust size by consuming 75 capsules (5 boxes). However, with this short period of time, it's a miracle that my breasts feel firmer and heavier than before. I truly notice a slight change in my breast size. There's now more tone and curve to it. My breasts didn't jump from A-cup to B-cup and I'm not disappointed at all because as a beauty enthusiast, I'm used to the saying that miracles don't happen overnight. As a breast enhancer, it does its job slowly but surely. I couldn't tell as to when I'll wear a B-cup bra because I'm too flat (LOL) and far from being busty but I'm already happy on the fact that I'm now more conscious not wearing bra at home.

I think we're lucky for having these products available to us. Those with sagging skin can be transformed to firmer ones with religious use. One of the most common problems of taking oral supplements are bad skin and hair but I never had those problems. My skin is just clearer and I think it's also because of this supplement.

As for the menstruation part, I'm still observing myself. I hope this is just the start and it's possible that my body is still adapting to this new supplement. I wouldn't count from the time I consume the first 2 boxes because I'm still convinced that those are not legit. So let's say we just had a month and a half of roadtesting. I'm still waiting for the next batch to arrive - the ECQ won't hasten the delivery, unfortunately. Let me know if you wish for me to give you an update probably quarterly? What do you say?

Have you tried Sexy Boom Dietary Supplements? Any thoughts?

UPDATE (05/10/20): I spoke to another reseller of Thai beauty products (Luxe Queen PH). I asked her if the plain and the printed one are both authentic. What she said was that the printed is a newer version. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt. It's possible that the first signs of side effects were because my body is still adjusting. Nonetheless, both have an impact on my menstrual cycle. I will still update this from time to time for any changes.

UPDATE (01/01/21): For everyone who's asking, I'm no longer taking this supplement. Like always, it delays my period and I don't want to compromise my health for something that's not really very important (at least for me). For a short period of time, I would say that it makes the bust firmer so I think that maybe using it longer will yield a better result. If you are only planning to use it like 1-2 months, don't expect that you will be satisfied with the result.

Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream Review

I guess Blogger just became mobile-friendly! I used to not be able to blog through my phone but all of a sudden I now can! Good for you, Blogspot. I’m thinking of switching to Wordpress because I’ve been having too many issues with this site lately - can’t upload new photos and the template layout is changing from time to time. Sometimes, it’s becoming unresponsive. I struggle with design and HTML, you know. I can barely keep up with blogging!

When I started this blog, I thought of it as a channel where it’s like I’m only writing in my diary with no pretenses. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy as long as  I am open and honest. Now it feels like I have to compete with others by buying expensive templates and even a domain of my own. Ugh.

I didn’t realized that I started with a rant. My apologies. Anyway, here’s the last installment (is it?) to our Maxi-Peel review series.

CLAIMS

Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream is a non-greasy, lightweight cream that protects skin from sunburn and hyperpigmentation. It contains SPF20 that shields skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays which contribute to skin damage that can last up to 5 hours. Use Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream during day time when you apply Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution at night for added protection during the entire exfoliation process. Re-apply as needed.

SCENT, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This product has an insignificant scent, a bit weird and sunscreen'y but not offensive. It has an opaque white color and a creamy consistency. The cream is quite thicker than sunscreens I would normally use on a daily basis, nonetheless, it still feels comfortable as it dries to a semi-matte finish. Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream isn't the most lightweight sunscreen out there but still lightweight and easy-absorbing on its own.

I've tried other sunscreens that cause makeups to get all patchy. Sometimes, the cream and makeup pill and roll together. Because of the sun protecting ingredients, they can even cause white casts. I haven't experienced those with Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream fortunately. It can be layered under makeup without compromising the coverage. You can also easily apply it on its own whenever necessary and just douse some powder for a fresh look. The white pigment from Titanium Dioxide somehow contributes to instant skin brightening.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream has three UVA/UVB blockers: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Diethylamino, Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate and Titanium Dioxide - all of which are safe and effective. It also has Glycerin to moisturize the skin and has very little irritants. With regular use, my skin isn't clogged and irritated. This sunscreen is easy to wash off with oil cleansers.

This is an okay sunscreen for me in terms of formulation. My only concern is that it's lacking on the sun protection level. In a tropical country and most especially during summer, I believe that we need to use products with SPF not lower than 35 to make sure we're protected from the sun's harmful rays. This is advisable to be used together with Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution which I'm very skeptical about. If the skin is peeling, there's much more need to use stronger sunscreens.

The price is very affordable so if you are a bit tight on budget, this is a good alternative especially effective sunscreens usually comes at a steeper price tag. I just feel more secured in using high SPF sunscreens so I don't think that I'll be repurchasing Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream anytime soon. Splash is a very well-known and reputable brand so I would assume that there's always a place for improvement.

What do you think of this product? Care to share?
