Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist Review

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist
Bought for: P1560/150ml
Bought from: Althea Korea

I know posting this will make me look like a late bloomer which I probably am but I have so much to talk about this product that even though the trend's gone, I hope someone would appreciate me writing this after all.

I bought this Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist from Althea Korea months ago. I was lucky to snag this at a further markdown since I bought it together with the another cult-favorite Time Revolution Night Repair Ampule. They were being sold in a bundle so you know that you're saving some bucks and on top of that, I had some credits that I shamelessly applied.

I believe that the product formulation has been revamped (somewhere in 2016), and since then, it has been upgraded to the "Intensive Moist" and with upgrades comes better ingredient concentrations. It's now formulated with 90% fermented yeast (10% more) which is the product's main ingredient. Don't quote me on this and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

CLAIMS (AS PER SOKOGLAM)

Missha's best-selling essence has been upgraded to "Intensive Moist," now formulated with 90% fermented yeast, its superstar ingredient.

Fermented ingredients are at the heart of Korean skin care. This newly upgraded water-like essence is a cult favorite among skin care lovers because it's well-known to repair damage and even out skin tone in just a few weeks. This newly upgraded formula contains over 90% fermented yeast extract from Himalayan purple barley to effectively plump skin, refine texture, and reduce pigmentation -- even better than before! Ion fermentation process also ensures rapid absorption of moisture, allowing skin to retain moisture for longer and restoring skin elasticity. Niacinamide brightens and clarifies skin tone while adenosine energizes skin for more younger-looking skin. This essence will be your new holy grail! This product has a pH level of 5.5

Couldn't make up what's on the box but from what I can see, these are just the Korean translation of what's in the next photo.

INGREDIENTS

There aren't much in the ingredient list and my heart's screaming because I secretly adore products that are formulated so simply. Showing this has few ingredients makes me think I'm putting less chemicals on my skin. But of course, it's not always about the ingredient list. It's how they are formulated together, concentrations and all, to make an impact on the skin.

As mentioned, it contains 90% Fermented Gemmule Yeast Extract and Himalaya Purple Barley that recover skin balance, and basic ability of skin by raising skin moisture from deep inside. Other ingredients are most likely fillers that aren't usually irritating to the skin. Take a look on the COSDNA product analysis to check.

PACKAGING

The product comes in a sleek cardboard packaging and has all necessary information about it. Upon opening, you'll see how it's all glammed up. The cap is sleek and silver and opens as you twist it. It's very secure and doesn't leak. There's also a stopper upon opening so the liquid is assured of safety and cleanliness. I accidentally lost it since first use though and that's fine because I don't think I'll ever wanna keep it. Overall, the packaging is gorgeous and it looks expensive as well. The material is frosted glass and that sits really pretty on your vanity area. The thing is, it's fragile so you can't bring it to trips very easily so you may have to decant some on small plastic bottles.

SCENT, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This products smells almost nothing in particular as I did a second run through the ingredient list, I'm happy to know that it's fragrance-free so no wonder. It's a watery essence but I apply it like how I would with a toner. Soaking a cotton pad and apply straight all over the face and neck in a gentle, upward motion. It's watery in consistency, absorbs easily as it hydrates the skin instantly. No need to do 'skins' with this otherwise your skin is super dry or can tolerate a bit of tackiness. I don't think reapplication is necessary too because I have oily skin and I have to finish the rest of my skincare lol.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

I'm not very happy to have splurge on this product. It does nothing special and it makes me develop bumps and pimples. This is the essence/toner I've used after running out of Laneige Clear C Advance Effector Ex and since then, my face has turned dull and oily. I don't know why but my skin is not very fond of this product and I'm partly to blame because I used a hydrating essence that's more intended for those with drier skin type.

I've only used about a half of this product for about a month and I'm not showing any improvement on my skin complexion. I was starting to break out on my neck which rarely happens so that gave me the idea of stopping. So I made a huge decision of throwing it away last week (throwing just away from my vanity lol) and switching it with the Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner which is slowly working to bring back my skin's natural glow. I don't know what I'd do with this now and I hate to think I'll be wasting bucks if I just literally throw it out.

So there, again, Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist did nothing for me other than worsen my skin condition so nope, I'm not gonna repurchase. I'm still happy for those who find it as their holy grail but keep in mind that not everything that works for one, works for everyone. This is the TSF, until next!

Charis M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream Review

Charis M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream
SRP: P1190 (50ml) | P870 (30ml)
From: Charis

Finally! I know Charis will come up with their very own product but I did not expect it to be this soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one who kept on guessing what their first product would be but I was so happy that it's a multi-functional cream. I haven't tried a lot of Cica Creams before, in fact I think I only had one apart from this and that was the very popular Centellian 24 Madeca Derma Cream which was a so-so. When I received these in the mail, I eventually tried it and now that I think I had enough time of road-testing, I'm going to share with you how it works for me. Please keep reading after the short break!

CLAIMS

Charis M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream claims to be a multi high tech solution for sensitized skin and works to clarify, lift, relax and moisten the skin. It contains Madecassoside and Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract providing delicate hydration and moisturization effects to the sensitive skin damaged from external stimulation.

INGREDIENTS

There are tons of ingredients found in this product and mostly are extracts from plants and herbs. About 58% are composed of Tiger Leaf Extract or also known as Centella Asiatica so if you don't have any problems with that, this may be safe for you. I haven't had any problems with this ingredient before so I'm not very cautious when I tried this. It's claimed as a cream for all skin types but better be safe. If you are sensitive to any extracts listed down below, I highly suggest to do a patch test first as we never know the exact concentration and how your skin will react towards it.

PACKAGING

I was given both the 30 and the 50 ml tubes but they are housed in the same packaging. It comes with a teal and white cardboard box that has all the information you will ever need about the product including the claims, directions for use, ingredient and expiry date (one year after opening).

The product itself is contained in an aluminum tube that looks very clinical and hygienic. I imagine putting on some ointment as I use it. It's lightweight and travel-friendly though just like what you expect, it's kinda hard to scrape the very last drops. I cut my skin about twice while I was trying to do that. It's nothing serious though.

The mouth is sealed with an aluminum upon purchase for sanitary purposes and I like that it's easy to control the amount to use. I would appreciate if it comes with a pointed nozzle though.

APPLICATION

I use this product twice every day. First thing in the morning after toner and before sunscreen and at the last step of my night time skincare. I only use half a pea-sized amount since a little goes a long way. I make sure to apply more on the drier areas such as around the eyes and neck. It's also a great soothing cream to apply anywhere your body after you wax or do either chemical or physical exfoliation to calm redness and irritation.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The cream has a little bit of an herbal scent, almost to the point that it's indistinguishable. The product has an opaque white color and has a very rich and creamy texture. It has a consistent formulation and true enough, it gets absorbed by the skin easily without any stickiness. The good thing about it is that you can layer it with makeups though your base might move around and cake on the latter part of the day. This cream warms my skin and my face is oilier during midday whenever I have this on. And when there's oil, you know what happens to your base. You will also wake up with a face looking like a grease ball. It must be the summer but I think this cream is the culprit as I'm not as oily when it's just my regular toner and cream.

PERFORMANCE

Despite the fact that it makes my skin so oily, it doesn't clog my pores or causes breakouts. Because of the rich texture, it's able to soften the skin, lessen redness overtime and make it look healthier and plumper. It's best to use during night time when your skin is healing and you'll wake up with smoother and clearer skin. Since it's formulated to be highly moisturizing, this will be more suitable for those with dry skin and as a cream to moisturize the areas where frequent loss of moisture occur--eyes and neck. Remember what beauty gurus say, the more your skin is moisturized, the longer it will take to age. Do keep that in mind.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that it works as a hand and foot cream too! It's able to soften calluses on the soles and palms and moisture stays longer. It might be on the steeper side of skin care but do take note that a little goes a long way so it's still worth the repurchase.

Real Techniques, Beauty Blender and Eco Tools Brush Haul

Recently, there was a site wide sale both at Zalora and Lazada where I scored a few individual brushes from Real Techniques limited edition brush lines and Eco Tools. I am so happy with this haul because I got them for a really great bargain prices and on top of that, I was able to get further markdowns because of a few vouchers from partner brands. As I always tell you, patience is the key. I could wait for sale season to make sure I'm getting the best deals! Anyway, here's what I got!

REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSH CRUSH COLLECTION

The first collection I have here are the ones from their Brush Crush Volume I collection. I have the 300 Powder Brush (P384) which has super soft, fluffy bristles that distribute powder so evenly. I bought the 302 Blush Brush (P381.50) too which is quite small and fits the apple of the cheeks. The 303 Contour Brush (P418) was a pleasure to have because it has more weight to it than other brushes and is dense but soft enough to blend contour very well. The 305 Shadow Brush (P290) is so fluffy too and it does not poke the eyes which is what I always look out for in eye brushes. Last in this collection is the 306 Kabuki Brush (P599) which would be a perfect touch to the vanity. Overall, this is a nice limited edition collection to have that sparks joy and chicness!

REAL TECHNIQUES POWDER BLEU COLLECTION

These are the Powder Bleu Collection that's made of synthetic bristles and is the luxury counterpart of the basic RT brushes. Just like the brush crush collection, these has a nice weight to them and the sturdy, sleek handles paves way for better grip. The pointed handles allow precise application and better storage as they do not roll around. Not to mention, both collections look so good in the vanity. I bought three makeup brushes which are the Soft Complexion Brush (P455), Soft Powder Brush (P455), and Soft Shadow Brush (P282).

ECO TOOLS

I stopped buying Eco Tools because the regular ones, though made of high quality bristles, are kind of light and cheap. However, I saw these and I caved in. There were tons of good feed back about the 360 Ultimate Blend Brush Set (P824) so I got them even though they are not included in the sale. I was able to snag a coupon so technically, I was able to slash a something from the regular price. These are incredible! I consider it Eco Tools' own version of paddle brushes that are way much more ergonomic and are cheaper. These brushes are so soft and dense I couldn't wait to use it! It comes in three sizes so you will have several options.

I also got the Stippling brush (P280) which looks and feel cheap but I kind of like it because it does the job and it doesn't shed as much as other stippling brushes. Also the bristles are short so application is more precised. I also have the Large Powder Brush (P226) which is feathery soft to the touch.

BEAUTY BLENDER MAKEUP SPONGE IN ROYAL (P555)
REAL TECHNIQUES POINTED CREASE BRUSH (P350)

Lastly I bought a Beauty Blender sponge and a pointed crease brush from the Real Techniques Bold Metals line. I kind of regret buying these first because I have checked and I still have tons of unused BBs and second, I rarely use dome-shaped crease brushes. Anyway, whatever, it must be nice to store them.

So that's pretty much it! I am so happy I got more brushes and I am still open for more! Happy blogging!

Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388 Review

Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P1150/6g
Bought from: Sample Room

Here's a quick review on a luxury product I got from the brand Shiseido. I have this product for quite a while now but I never thought of blogging about it just now. It was a hit and miss with this product so I'm quite excited to share my thoughts with you.

CLAIMS

A touch of stain that blends instantly. A tint-type rouge with a water-based 3-layer separation technology that creates a look with a natural luster and color that appear to emanate from within. It moisturizes and softens lips while giving a long-wearing color and luster for up to 6 hours.

HOW TO USE

The diagonal tip functions as a blender for an airy, light finish. Gently tap the applicator tip on the lips, starting at the center to spread with a smear over the entire lip. When both lips are rubbed together, a natural luster emanates as the color stains the lips, prolonging wear.

PACKAGING

The overall shimmery casing is really looking grand and glamorous. It definitely looks good from a distance. I also like the slanted doe foot applicator and stuff too. The thing is, the packaging weighs so light and the casing feels cheap as it's just made of plastic coated with some sleek paint.

TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This is claimed to be as an ultra hydrating lip tint so I kind of predicted that it won't be as matte as the usual which added to my excitement. This has the consistency of a lip gloss but with an opaque color. I hate those drying lip tints that make my puckers crack, peel and bleed. True enough, this has a creamy, soft formula that glides on the lips so easily and is very hydrating. It's lightweight too, non-sticky and doesn't wear uncomfortably on the lips. On the other hand, the product does not settle completely on the lips as what I expect with lip products that has the consistency of a lip gloss. It easily transfers but you lips will still be left soft and smooth for hours.

PIGMENTATION

The pigmentation sucks, at least for this shade in RD 388. It's a muted pink in shade and is supposed to tint the lips while providing luster. As suggested, you have to stick your lips together to blend during application to prolong the wear. It does it's job in providing a pinkish glow but once you drink, lick or accidentally wipe your lips, the color comes off too. I would disagree if others say that this is long-lasting. Take a look at my swatch down below. There's barely a percent of color that's left after wiping the product ONCE with pure cotton pad.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

Just like what I've mentioned, it's a hit and miss with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge. Still, I find myself bringing it with me everywhere because it's very simple and natural-looking on the lips. I also love that it makes my lips look plumper and healthier. I have super dry lips and I badly needed a lip product that would instantly soothe and calm it while also providing a bit of color. I'd prefer it over drying tints even though the price is on the steeper side.

For a long-lasting pinkish glow, dab some tint onto your lips and top it off with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge for an enhanced glow and luster. That works best for me!

Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen SPF50 PA+++ Review

Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P374.75
Bought from: Sample Room

Sunscreen is an essential that I couldn't live without. As of the moment, I have about five opened sunscreens which I use alternately depends on my skin needs. It's summer now but it doesn't mean we never have to use it for the rest of the year. Yes, no matter what season or what day it is, I make sure to slather a generous amount of sunscreen for protection. You may not see the need and importance of using it now, but later on, you will thank yourself for preventing premature aging. Using sunscreen daily is one the best ways to combat it aside from eating food that are healthy for the skin.

Today, let's talk about Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen SPF50 PA+++. I'm used and been in loved with the Belo SunExpert Face Cover SPF40 PA+++ and Perfecting Shield Tinted Sunscreen  that I lost track how many times I repurchased in the past 2 years. I'm so glad that they come up with a whitening variant with added SPF that not only prevents skin darkening but also helps lighten and maintain the skin tone as well.

CLAIMS

Your whitening journey must begin with expert sun protection. Get superior sun protection as skin becomes fairer with continued, everyday application of Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen! With Niacinamide and Brightening Essence® that lighten skin tone with regular usage. It has SPF 50 and PA++ ensure broad spectrum protection against harmful UV rays. Also with Cell Protect® that strengthens skin’s defense against premature skin aging. It is formulated to be non-sticky and lightweight, water resistant and works as soon as you apply it. Paraben-free. Non-comedogenic. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologist-tested.

INGREDIENT LIST

PACKAGING

Product comes in a tube container for easy dispensing of the product. It's lightweight too so you can bring it conveniently anytime and anywhere you want. Just like all Belo products, they are designed in a way that there's enough room for important product information such as benefits/claims, usage, warning and ingredient list. The cap shuts tight with a click so product doesn't leak or whatsoever.

SCENT, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The product has a very faint scent I couldn't almost distinguish it. It's opaque white in color and has a soft, creamy consistency. It's very easy to blend and surprisingly, it doesn't leave any streaks or white cast on the skin. It also dries quickly. I like that I can use it under makeup and the product won't make the base any cakey or patchy.

PERFORMANCE

Just like all of Belo's sunscreen products, I really feel that my skin is really protected under the sun. I don't see such significant lightening effect after using it for more than a month. To be fair, skin lightening is never easy to achieve and I know it by heart. It takes religious skincare, effective products, a bucket of patience and several months of waiting (possibly in vain) before you see it happen. If you are not very tight on budget, you can opt for food supplements or even undergo chemical procedures for faster results. I said a lot but my point is, this is not that product that you buy to see miracles overnight. On a lighter note, this has a brightening effect on the skin that doesn't look awkward.

I haven't tested nor used it during a getaway but I think staying under the sun in the afternoon (when the sun's at its strongest point) is enough for me to gauge whether or not this works. I remember having a long day when we went to Taytay and shopped for clothes and stuff. After hours of exposure to sun and heat, I went home to Valenzuela (imagine my hours of commute!) and go straight to Post Office to pick up a parcel. I wore it from morning to almost evening and my skin did not darken at all nor felt tight. Another great thing about this product is that it feels very lightweight and non-sticky and it's very comfortable on the skin even after perspiring a lot.

If you are looking for affordable and lightweight sunscreens, go for Belo SunExpert range. All of them are worth the money. These will forever be one of my go-to sunscreens and you'll know it because I always recommend them. Thank you so much for reading! Happy blogging!
