Olay Natural White Ageless Aura 2-in-1 Facial Cream Review

Olay Natural White Ageless Aura Whitening and Anti-Aging Facial Cream
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P45 (7.5g)
Bought from: Sample Room

Hey, there! Here's a review on the newest facial cream from Olay–Ageless Aura Whitening and Anti-Aging Facial Cream. The first time I saw this on Sample Room, I was like "I gotta try what's new from Olay." So there, I immediately carted it and after a couple of days, it was delivered to my doorstep. I would like to be one of those who will try and write about it because I know Olay and the brand has been with me especially while I was undergoing puberty. It was one of the very first skincare brands I used and trusted with my skincare problems.

Now that I aged some more, I'm so excited to discover something that is more appropriate for my skin. The new variant, Ageless Aura, claims to be an anti-aging and whitening product in one that caters more to probably working and middle-aged women like me. I am not someone who does so many things outdoor but the fact that my skin is not getting any younger makes me wanna incorporate all anti-aging products in my routine.

CLAIMS

Introducing the first 2-in-1 Whitening Cream – the new Olay Natural White Ageless Aura! It has dual benefit of Whitening + Anti-Aging that brightens skin and reduces look of wrinkles. It contains Mulberry Extract that helps to brighten skin and also contains Vitamin B3 that helps reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It also has SPF15/PA++ to protect skin from the sun.

It has Mulberry Root Extract (known to be anti-oxidant with skin lightening/brightening benefits and Vitamin B3/Niacinamide (widely known for its anti-aging properties). It contains two powerful ingredients for both whitening and anti-aging.

CLAIMS, DIRECTIONS, INGREDIENTS

PACKAGING

Product comes in convenient sachets like this with a seal cap. I'm not really a fan of sachets because they can be quite messy so having a seal cap like this is so useful. This makes it so travel-friendly too as it's super lightweight and thin. It's not even fragile so you don't have to be so careful with it. As usual, all necessary information are printed on the packaging. It includes the claims, ingredients, directions for use, caution as well as the expiry date.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The scent is just right and not overpowering. The cream is opaque white, ever so slightly thicker than the rest of my moisturizer and almost whipped-like. I kind of expect that this will leave some streaky white lines but it actually did not. It blends well on the skin and is very hydrating too. It makes my skin look dewy and instant bright. The only thing is that the moisture level is quite too much for my oily skin that it tends to feel oily/greasy after application. It's not exactly one of those weightless moisturizer so if that's a bit of an issue, you know what to do. Nothing a blotting sheet and a powder can fix it though.

This is a day cream that is a bit tricky to layer under makeup as it makes the base cake like big time. On the other hand, if you have dry skin, the moisture would definitely help blend the foundation to avoid dry, flaky skin. After a few weeks of use, I did not really see much lightening but it's probably because my skin is leaning towards fair skin tone already. On the other hand, it does help in reducing redness and is perfect to apply on days when skin seems to lack some luster. With regular use, skin texture will soften and blemishes are less significant.

So is it worth it? For the price, I would say it is. However, there's a bit of contemplation whether or not I'll repurchase as I'm always on the lookout for new stuff. Also, this product isn't that miraculous for me to trade other skin care products I'm currently using and discovering in my years of blogging.

On a lighter note, go get Ageless Aura if: your skin needs moisture, your skin looks dull and needs brightening, you like natural ingredients, your skin is not allergic to Mulberry Extract and Niacinamide, you're looking for a good maintenance moisturizer to use on a daily basis and you're tight on budget.

Lens Circle Cafe and World Series Circle Lenses Review

Lens Circle Cafe Grey Waffle Circle Lens - $34.95 (NOW $29.95)
Lens Circle World Grey Circle Lens - $34.95 (NOW $29.95)

I am very much excited to share with you my experience with Lens Circle. If you don't know, this is going to be the first time I'm gonna wear some contact lenses. Is is so shocking? I've been blogging for more or less four (4) years now but still haven't had the guts to try wearing one until Lens Circle reached out to me for a sponsored post. I was quite nervous at first, yes, but I was also super stoked because I was finally learning how to apply it! If it's your first time too, in this blog, I will teach you how.

So Lens Circle is generous sending me two (2) pairs of contact lensesone from the Cafe (Grey Waffle) and one from the World (Grey) series. Since I always think gray looks great in the eyes, I picked up two pairs that are both tinted as such. I believe contact lens comes in two (2) classes in terms of the measurement which are the Circle Lens and Regular Lens. I'm not very much sure about this but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The former will make your eyes look bigger as the outer rim is also tinted while the latter is more natural-looking, colors only the iris and is ever so slightly less tinted. This is why I got one from each so I can also compare both in terms of the look and comfort.

USER GUIDE

PACKAGING

When I went to the post office to get the parcel, I immediately opened them up. I was really curious why I received a notice when I haven't bought anything from an overseas shop. I was surprised it was my most-awaited pairs of contact lens. They are placed inside this cute animal print pouch and are also well-secured.

Upon checking the items, the contact lens comes in well-secured tiny glass bottles and I had a hard time opening them up as I lack the idea that most contact lenses are supposed to be housed like this. I am glad there are proof of authenticity and they are properly labeled. When I watched a Youtube video about proper lens usage, they mentioned that lenses are labeled left and right. Anyway, these does not have any degrees so it's probably whatever you pick up first.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Now this is what I'm telling you about. I spent over 10 minutes figuring out how to open these bottles. The white cap as seen on the above picture, is actually attached to the aluminum seal. Once you pull it open, make sure to pull it downwards until you completely tear the aluminum seal in one side. Grab something small and pointed to remove the rest of the seal. Now be careful as it's sharp and pointed enough to cut your fingers when you put a little pressure so for the hundredth time, be careful.

Once you pull the white rubber open, there comes the lens submerged in a solution. You can just simple grab a small jar to pour the solution into so you can get the lens or (now this is what I recommend), get a cotton bud and grab the lens from the inside. It's more hygienic and will make sure that the lens won't get scratched or torn. And for the record, before anything else, make sure your hands are super clean and dry. Disinfect with 70% solution alcohol.

Make sure to get the lens case and pour some solution about half full. These are labeled left and right so you have to make sure you are putting the lens to the right container. This is to avoid inflammations and damages to the other eye in case you get eye problems in the future.

Here's the solution I bought from an optical shop in SM North. Solutions are a must-keep step to ensure your lenses are moisturized and clean. Always use the solution pre and post application.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

Since this is my first time, I kind of expect it would take me minutes or probably hours before success. Turns out, it wasn't bad at all. I had teary eyes on first two tries but I finally got used to it. I think the greatest challenge was applying the circle lens (Cafe) as it's slightly bigger than the regular one (World). My eyes is quite small so at first my thought was "Oh no, this won't fit". Overtime, I figured out looking down from the mirror (instead of looking straight) allows the lens to get easy access to the eyes. As expected, they adjusted to the center automatically with a few blinks. So no need to worry if the lens was improperly placed.

Diameter: 14.8mm
Base Curve Radius: 8.8mm
C.T: 0.04 ~ 0.13mm
Water Content: 38 ~ 42%
Using Cycle: One Year
Power Range: 0.00 (Plano)
Manufacturer: Geo Medical Inc.

Another struggle I encountered was the lens inability to adhere to the eyes in one go. I had to apply several solutions just because I think the lens gets and gets dirty from being exposed to the air and skin. Later on, I found out too much solution actually makes things harder. I learned to drip the excess solution with the help of the back of my hand before finally slipping through the lens to the center of my eyes. As with the proper hand application, I couldn't say anything because I think you should do what you are most comfortable to do when applying the lenses.

To remove, you can use a few drops of an eye solution to wet the eyes. The best way to remove it is to slightly move the lens to the white side of the eyes and pinch. Always apply the lens before applying makeup and remove it before cleansing the makeup. I don't know, it's just easy that way lol.

Overall, I'm really happy with these Lens Circle Cafe and World Series Circle Lenses! I find them so comfortable to wear and I love it when my eyes are tinted and looks bigger! My Unpleasant Experience With Poten-Cee Vitamin C + Collagen Food Supplements

Here's a quick review on the Poten-Cee supplements that I got from Sample Room. I was excited at first to try these because it's going to be the first time I'll ever take Collagen supplements. It also has Vitamin C and with a quick research, I found out that they work best when taken together as Vitamin C hastens the effects and production of Collagen.

One ability of Collagen is to provide you a glowing, healthy skin. This is vital if you would like to have a more supple, elastic skin. As we age, collegen production declines which is why beauty enthusiasts like me resorts to collagen supplements to maintain the natural, young-looking skin.

Poten-Cee Vitamin C + Collagen Food Supplements
Size: Per capsule / 10s capsule / 30s capsule
Price: P19.50 / P195.00 / P585.00

CLAIMS: Poten-Cee +C is a supplement that contains Vitamin C (70mg) and Collagen (650mg). Collagen is important to skin vitality. Several studies have shown that collagen supplements can help improve skin hydration, reduce skin dryness, skin scaling and even formation of wrinkles.

I got these supplements last January through Sample Room. It took me about a month before trying them out as I'm taking Fern-C back then. So here comes March- I was breaking out and I thought it's going to be the perfect time to take some Collagen. It's not for acne purposes but I was hoping it would at least do something about my skin condition. After just about three (3) days, my jaw, cheeks and neck is covered with tiny, itchy red bumps. I rarely get pimples in my neck so I thought, it must be something I was taking orally. I stopped during the fifth day because my skin is not doing any better. I just keep on getting fresh new bumps all over.

After my skin was healed, I tried taking the supplements again early this month in the hope of getting better results. It must be my poor sleeping and eating habit way back March but then again, the same thing happened. The first three (3) days were horrible. I got tiny, itchy bumps again in my neck and decolletage part as well as over my face. I kept on scratching my skin even at work. On the fourth day onwards, I stopped and there I saw the breakouts starting to calm down and heal again with the help of my Althea Korea Spot Film Gel. The breakouts were sudden and the products I use during the testing period were products I trust and haven't encountered any problems yet so far. I wasn't taking anything orally too other than the Poten-Cee Vitamin C + Collagen Food Supplement. It wasn't even that time of the month and not even close to. So, you be the judge.

Poten-CeeAscorbic Acid Poten-Cee Forte
Size: per tablet / 30s tablet / 100s tablet
Price: P9.75 / P292.50 / P975.00

CLAIMS: Poten-Cee Forte is a 1000 MG Ascorbic Acid tablet in an 8-Hour-Time-Release formula for a whole-day Vitamin C protection. Poten-C Vitamin C gives the benefit of Immunity + Healthy Skin because it not only helps boost immunity, it is also essential in collagen production for a healthy skin and hair.

The Poten-Cee Forte is something that I think works in maintaining a healthy immune system. It keeps me cold and cough-free when everyone in the family is sick. Of course, drinking plenty of water helps a great deal too. It's a cheaper counterpart to expensive Vitamin C and the 8-hour time release system is impressive.

What's your trusted Vitamin C/Collagen brand? Would love to hear your thoughts! Happy blogging!

Laneige White Dew Emulsion Review

Laneige White Dew Emulsion
Bought for: P1650/100ml
Bought from: Althea Korea

I don't know about you but emulsions in general, for me, isn't exactly a necessary step in skincare.  I have regular toners and moisturizers that do the overall job. I also think that my oily skin can only tolerate a lighter moisture level than any other skin types. However, if you have the time and the budget, why not? I know I couldn't hold you back. The reason why I have this long introduction (haha!) is that I purchased my very first emulsion and this is from a brand that I truly love–Laneige. It wasn't my intention to include it in my April Haul but it suddenly came to me that since I'm trying most in their White Dew range, might as well include it for a more accurate review. They say products in the same range will give a better result. Any say on this?

CLAIMS

Looking for bright, glowy skin? Laneige's White Dew range contains Saururus Chinensis extract that works effectively to lighten dark spots and even out skin coloration. It's also formulated with the glycol component of Phyto sugar water that moisturizes and brightens the skin. The emulsion is a lightweight moisturizer that penetrates easily into the skin, leaving it feeling supple, looking bright and feeling great. With continuous use, you'll be left with a complexion that's supple and radiant, and who doesn't want that?

Laneige White Dew Emulsion claims to moisturize and brighten the skin. It works to brighten dark spots, evens skin tone and hydrates. It's also lightweight and easily absorbed into the skin.

This products is also loaded with three (3) star ingredients: Trehalose (a moisturizing agent that binds water to the skin, preventing evaporation to keep it hydrated for longer), Saururus Chinensis Extract (effectively brightens the skin and reduces dark spots) and Phyto Sugar Water (moisturizes the skin and brightens it for a radiant complexion).

PACKAGING

I received this item in good condition. It came with a cardboard box and a mini flyer that displays information about the product. It's very similar to Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner except the emulsion has lesser content, hence shorter. The shimmery cap and sleek silver pump added a more luxury touch. The bottle itself is quite heavy and sturdy and it feels like the weight and quality of the bottle is something you are also paying for. Seriously, the packaging looks and feels expensive. That being said, I find it not very ideal for travelling.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

Laneige White Dew Emulsion smells like the entire White Dew range and if I am going to describe it, it smells clean and not very overpowering. It has a milky white color, thicker than ampules but thinner than creams. It has a very consistent formulation and it's easy to apply and get absorbed into the pores. The only thing is that it makes my skin look oily already after just applying my Laneige Clear C Advance Effector Ex and Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner.

APPLICATION

I use 1-2 small pumps of this emulsion and careful not to over apply as it makes my skin look oily. I would then massage it in circular motion all over my face and pat the rest for full absorption right after cleansing and toning and before applying the rest of my makeup.

PERFORMANCE

Okay. I think I know now why this isn't exactly a must-have for me. It feels thin and lightweight but ironically, it makes my skin oilier which is so much more than what I can handle. I think those with drier skin type will enjoy this product much more. On a lighter note, it helps with the brightening of the skin and using it with the rest of the White Dew range, my skin is less red and feels a lot more supple. It's also gentle to the skin, non-sting and the best thing is that it will surely last for months since a little goes a long way.

I've read some reviews that this product made their skin lighter and their acne gone and I'm truly happy that they've found their holy grail. I know that it's too soon to claim my skin has lightened significantly (in less than two months of use) considering that skin lightening requires a gradual process. What I'm happy about is that my skin looks more even and less red than before.

For the meantime, I'm not thinking of repurchasing Laneige White Dew Emulsion as I feel like it isn't exactly very useful and there's a lot better and cheaper alternatives in the market. Let me know your experiences and what you think of this particular product from Laneige by posting your comments down below! I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
