Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner Review

Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner
Bought for: P1210/120 ml
Bought from: Althea Korea

Here's a review on a product which I have been loving lately—Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner. I included it on my Althea Korea April haul. I've probably told you several times now how I am falling over and over Laneige that I bought almost all products in their White Dew range except for the ampule which retails for more than P2000. I find it to be on the steeper side of ampules and I wasn't quite prepared financially so I decided to skip it. After all, I got both the refiner and emulsion which, after doing a quick research, are moisturizing enough on their own.

CLAIMS

Looking for bright, glowy skin? Laneige's White Dew range contains Saururus Chinensis extract that works effectively to lighten dark spots and even out skin coloration. It's also formulated with the glycol component of Phyto sugar water that moisturizes and brightens the skin. The skin refiner is a hydrating toner that whisks away leftover residue and preps the skin to take on the next step of your skincare routine, leaving it feeling supple, looking bright and feeling great. With continuous use, you'll be left with a complexion that's supple and radiant, and who doesn't want that?

According to Althea Korea, Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner is a hydrating toner to clarify and prep the skin. It also works to brighten dark spots, evens skin tone and moisturizes for a healthy complexion. The best thing about this toner is that it's very lightweight and easily absorbed.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Saturate a cotton pad and wipe onto the skin, starting from the center of the face and working your way out.

PACKAGING

The product comes in a blue and white cardboard box which is probably a trademark of Laneige. I mean I think most of their products are colored blue or white. Oh, I am taking that back because I just thought of the Calming and Clear C ranges lol which comes in blush pink hehe. Anyway, over all, they radiate of minimalist design and I love all things simple.

As usual, it comes with a leaflet that tells us more information about the whole White Dew range. The product itself feels like luxury. It's quite heavy and not because of the content but because of the bottle that was used. The sleek, silver pump is very functional and the shimmery cap is a nice touch too. The only downside is the weight and the bulkiness as I would really hesitate bringing it to getaways. It would be best to decanter to small, empty containers.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner has a subtle, clean scent. It's cloudy white in color, thicker in texture than normal toners but still lightweight and is easily absorbed by the skin. During my initial application, I thought it's one of those toners that will leave a greasy, sticky residue but I'm quite surprised that it's very comfortable on the skin and doesn't feel heavy at all.

PERFORMANCE

Laneige White Dew Skin Refiner has three star ingredients same as other products under the White Dew range. These are Trehalose (a moisturizing agent that binds water to the skin, preventing evaporation to keep it hydrated for longer), Saururus Chinensis Extract (effectively brightens the skin and reduces dark spots) and Phyto Sugar Water (moisturizes the skin and brightens it for a radiant complexion).

Incorporating it to my regular skin care, I noticed that my skin has cleared up significantly. Also, my skin has become more balanced and supple with regular use. This is one heck of a hydrating toner that truly hydrates the skin from within without triggering excess sebum production. Despite the bi-polar weather (I meant the intense heat and staying in an air-conditioned room during work hours), my skin doesn't feel dry and taut. In fact, I started getting compliments from colleagues that my skin look bright and clear as if I have something on when all I have is a lip tint and a baby powder.

If you are looking for a brightening toner, I highly suggest you give this product a try. It feels very gentle on the skin and is non-sting. With regular use, your skin will be softer and smoother. Blemishes on my cheek and chin are starting to lighten too. I know you find this a little expensive, almost all Laneige products are (at least for me), but a little goes a long way and they truly delivers!
