#NOTD1 (Nails of the day)

Lovely afternoon, everyone! Just wanna share with you guys my colorful but not so colorful(?) nails of mine for today! I'm just in the mood to paint my nails and guess what, this is my first-ever nail art that I did right in my entire life, so yeah, I hope you like it just how I do! Keep scrolling! >:D

Here's what you'll need to achieve the design!

Of course you will need a base coat before you put on the base color to avoid stains which is definitely hard to remove! You don't want that obviously. Currently, I am using San San Nail Hardener as my base coat. You can get it for only PHP37 at any HBC stores nationwide. For my base color, I used Cutex in Black (PHP50). Then, for my second coat, I used Cutex Nail Polish in Pure Cotton (PHP50) and Sally Hansen in Impatiens (I forgot the price). I could use another Cutex Nail Lacquer, but I found this Sally Hansen first on my stash so yeah. And of course, don't ever forget to use a top coat after everything's been dried up to prevent early color chipping!

For the design, you can use  single or two brush (the smallest and thinnest best work for me though.)

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

It's hard for me to explain everything but I'll try my best though. So first, just color your nails black. When dried, using a nail brush, create a wide V-shape on the middle part of your nails then fill the gap with your preferred color. Let it dry. Do the same thing as you've done with the second coat for your third coat then fill everything in. After it's all dried up (seriously, everything must be dried up first or the color would smudge when applied with the top coat), cover everything using your preferred top coat to seal in the color and add shine to your nails.

I don't claim to be any expert in painting nails and this nails art seem to be so much far from nails-that-are-done-by-a-pro. You can see that it isn't neat enough but I'm working on that. Hoho! Anyways, make sure that the previous coat is dried well enough that it won't smudge when touched by the brush. So basically, it took me an hour or two to finish the nail art as I don't have a nail polish dryer.

Share it when you tried it! Have a nice day, beauties! Happy blogging! xx

Love,
Hanna

My October Collective Haul!

Hi guys!

So yeah, this blog post is composed mainly of my, you know, hoards and everything for the month of OCTOBER. October is definitely my birth month (belated happy birthday to me!) so I had to give myself some me-time to shop for items which has been on my to-buy list ages ago. Ugh! Anyway, here they are!

I bought some of the items from Victory Mall Caloocan, Divisoria and on Ebay. I got each for no more than PHP500 since my budget requires buying limits. Hahah!

These three cropped tops were bought from Victory Mall for only PHP100 each! Wooo, I spotted them on sale and I had no choice but to buy them immediately. Also, I am looking for tops these days that I can wear to school and clothes where I know are comfortable when worn. These three are just the rightest!

When I first see these two tops, I was immediately caught in the moment. I love stars so yeah, guess I'll have no other option but to get it plus it's also on sale! I got it for only PHP150! Quite a steal, hmm. Meanwhile, the lilac blouse on the right side with ruffles on its sleeves and at the bottom part reminds me of the top worn by some fashion blogger I admire, so yeah. You guess what I mean naman right? Heheh. Thisis also on sale at PHP100!

Note: I hardly buy items which are not sold in discounted prices and are at a lesser price. Hoho >:D

I won this makeup brush set in an auction at Ebay for only PHP325! Can you believe it!? You'll hardly believe it as the set contains 32 pieces of makeup brush in a bag! I always wanted to have a makeup brush set ever since I got interested on putting on makeups. Well it's not like I use to wear makeup on school, it's just that I know they will be one of the things that I will be interested with in the future. And I might use the skills which I can learn on tutorials soon. It's better to know basic makeup application than end up looking ugly on a date. LOL. (Hey, I don't date, by the way, you know just in case XD)

This 12 pieces brush set here are what I'll use for my nail art sessions. LOL. I don't really know how to do some fancy nail arts at the moment but I'm willing to learn, you know? Hoho. I got it for only PHP200 (original price is PHP350). Woo! Thank goodness the seller allowed me to take it home minus PHP150 the price! Tel you what, she looked really pissed off after our encounter. Hahaha! At least I don't pay that much. If you read my July Wishlist, the makeup and nail art brushes were there so basically, it took me three months to finally have it! At last!

This Geneva watch comes also in white which my friend asked to buy from me. I got both from Ebay together with the makeup brush set and watches below. I won it in auction for less than PHP200 when it is actually sold originally in almost a thousand bucks! Whoa. The only downside here is the shipping fee. I always had to pay more or less PHP200 for the SF every time I'll order which I don't really mind as it's still at a so much lower price compared to the original.

I got both at more than PHP200 when the original price is PHP800 something. I was in love with both the trendy and sophisticated design so I had to bid for it. Anyway, I'm planning to give the other one for my mom this November because she'll be having her 48th birthday! Love you, mom!

So that's my October collective haul! I had to hurry now, guys, since I have to clean the house! Love yah all! Til my next post! Happy blogging! xx

Semestral Break Thoughts

Being a Mass Communication student is not easy. In fact, it never has been easy. I say so because I am one of them. I am one of those guys and girls who always dream to be a broadcaster/reporter, DJ, event hosts and organizers, photographer, etc. In behalf of all of these aspiring dreamers, I think we deserve credits and complements; after all, there are just few of us who took the initiative to be these professionals someday. I say this not to brag nor compare, I say this to emphasize that we are so much more than what most people think about the degree program that we are taking.

Funny how serious I have been in my first paragraph. LOL. I just wanted to talk about my semester. This has been, by far, the most challenging semester for me. The highlight would be my theatre class—where we spent so many sleepless nights, where I learned how to build basic house through hammering and cutting things out, where I learned how to rush things and cram due to lack of preparation time, where I go home by midnight or early morning, where I just think positive instead of thinking about the dangers there might be upon going home late, where we suffered from not eating because we were doing what we MUST do, where I explain everything to my strict parents and where I faced my biggest challenge—overcoming every obstacles and problems there is just to pass every course I’m taking.

It has been a roller coaster ride for me, but, I’m glad to say that I did pass! And my professor gave each of us a grade of 1! You can tell how lucky we were just by learning so much from her! Thank you for that, Ms. Gabello. You truly are one of the best teachers that I had.

Aside from theatre arts, we have Film Aesthetics, wherein we were required to watch 8 movies and write a review for each of them. Not just that! We were also instructed to download movies or buy it from Video 48 in case the movie is not downloadable. I had to run to Video 48 in Quezon City with a friend just to get copies of Joey Gosiengfiao’s movie. And I had to seriously pay 300php for it! We also had to put them on CD tapes and produce jackets for each CDs. The burning part of the movie took me so much time because I had to watch numerous tutorials on YouTube just to learn how to burn CDs. It was my first time, and I hope my CDs would work in different DVD players. Hahah!
There was also the Broadcast Writing. Our president got the class cards and we were told that our grades were incomplete! Incomplete! I did not even remember a single requirement from the course which I fail to pass so I was really shocked that I got an incomplete grade! It was equivalent to 5.00 but out former professor talked to our BroadWrit professor to double-check the grades and we got 1.75 instead. It wasn’t any higher than my other grades but more than enough to send me flying in happiness! Afterall, it wasn’t a 5.00 or my mom would kill me. Hahah!

My other subjects were also challenging but they did not surpassed how the other subjects gave me chills so I will not tell them anymore. Although I’m really am grateful for all the professors that I have. You al left something in me that I would forever cherish in my life. Thank you because if it weren’t for all of you, I may not be one of the dean’s listers this semester. You all made me jump and scream to the fullest! Thank you so much!!!

Here’s my grade! I believe this is more than what I deserve so I thank You, Lord for making all of these possible. This is all for you and I know I will be forever indebted to all the people I’ve mentioned in my little blog post. Thank you very much!!!

Review: The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in Lemon

One of the products I hoard from The Face Shop' Sale last week was this Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in Lemon. (You can read my The Face Shop Purchases here by the way.) When it comes to my desire in achieving a brightened skin tone, I always go for lemon-based products. Why? Because lemon is know for eliminating dead skin cells with the benefit of whitening your skin, thus, creating an illusion of brightened skin tone during continuous use. This has been long-proved by Science ever since and we all know that, right? >:)

I was really eager to use it that I ditch my previous soap and switched to it instead without any say. This is the very first product that I use which is a non-drugstore one, didn't I tell you that already? So yeah, after more than a week use, guess, it's now the proper time to share with you, guys, what I think about it...

Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in Lemon at PHP265 (50%off)
I'm not actually a fan of foaming cleansers ever since my previous cleanser from other brand did not work well on me. But this hoarder in me just started to kick off so yeah, I ended up buying it instead! I bought not just one, but twice! Hey, it's not my fault that I'm really into skin care products. Hahah! Anyway, I'm going to post a separate review for the Acerola variant soon.

I like that it comes in a tube dispenser, my favorite packaging for skin care products. Its simple layout is what made it look like those products sold for thousand bucks. It simply has a lemon at the bottom part which somehow looks very straight to the point, like 'Hey, I contain some lemon. Buy me now!' This is what made it more appealing to me, I guess, as I'm very observant with packaging and such. Sorry for that. Hoho!
It has aluminum cover so the product won't easily spill out of the tube.

As it comes in a huge tube dispenser, it also comes with a lot of product on it (170ml) for, say, less than $3 and it could be use for a long period of time, since you'll only need a dime and it would lather pretty much already. Plus, you can bring it any time, any where to freshen up and you don't have to worry as the product wont leak in your travel bags.

It has expiration date printed on the upper closing of the tube.

Although, the formula mainly contains lemon, it also has other active ingredients on it like Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut Bark Extract), Saponaria Officinalis Leaf Extract Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, and Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract--which I believe contribute to the product's skin benefits.

*You can check the ingredient list for products which may cause you some allergies.

As you can see, being an original Korean product, most of the description are written in different language, so it's really great that they have sort of  'subtitles' below.

Formulated with lemon extract, this mild cleansing foam helps remove dead skin cells and leaves skin fresh. Although it lives up to its promises, it fails to satisfy my expectations. How? Yes, it does freshen up my skin, but not for a long time. My face tends to get oily by minutes and reading one of lemon's benefit to reduce oil build up, it does not do the trick on my skin. As it remove dead skin cells, it does not dry up my pimples which I hope can be lessened somehow since lemon is known as a great help for pimple-prone skin. But come to think of it, I should expect this for the spearmint variant. Haha!

Also, it tends to be a bit drying for my skin, the feeling which I don't really like upon washing my face. It reminds me of Pond's facial foam, although not as drying. But hey, it's still drying after all! However, it does not cause me breakouts like the previous foam did, which is a good thing. The bad thing, though, is that it does not prevent acne/pimples. Ironic that the product is intended for use on any skin types, yet I think it best suits sensitive (as the product is really mild) and normal skin as it somehow is drying (so it's not for dry skin) and definitely does nothing for oily skin type (so it's also not for oily skin).

Verdict: Using this actually makes me think, how does the Acerola variant differ from it? Nonetheless, the product, being mild and all, I believe, won't do my skin any harm as The Face Shop is probably one of the best brands which uses organic ingredients. I may still continue to use it, but I do not ever promise to stick to it as I'm looking for other products that would do my skin great results. But remember, what may not work for me, may work for you as we all have different skin types and needs. Try it and see for yourself! It might be the best product in your life!

Other variants:
Lemon (detoxifying)
Acerola (brightening)
Spearmint (sebum-fighting)
Peach (nourishing)
Aloe (soothing)
Mung Beans (softening)

Hope my review helps! Happy blogging!xx

Love,
Hanna

My The Face Shop Haul #TFSOctoberPromo

Hello, semestral break! Hello, blogging world! Hello, beautiful people from around the globe! Yes, just to let you know, I am still alive and breathing. LOL, just kidding. >:D Without further ado, may I now present to you my purchases from The Face Shop! This is actually the first time I bought a Korean slash non-drugstore product since I mostly buy face products there. Hahah!

So as I was saying, I took advantage from the 'Buy 1, Take 1' Promo TFS is offering. Who would not, anyway? Don't get me wrong, this is for hoarders like me lol. Yes, being a hoarder of beauty products that are on sale (especially those that are marked down for as low as 50%), I would and I should not let this pass as I'll forever regret it. Whaaaaaaaaaat!?

And now, for my purchases!!!

TFS Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in Lemon and Acerola 175ml/ea (PHP265)
Jeju Aloe 99% 300ml/ea (PHP195)

The moment I've read on TFS' Facebook Page that they're gonna have a Buy 1, Take 1 for their Jeju Aloe, I had to set aside everything I have to do that day and head to the nearest TFS store since the sale is due on October 15, only as part of their Pay Day Special. It just happened that their cleansing foams are also on sale, so I had to grab these two Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foams in Lemon and Acerola--my preferred 'flavours' among the six variants.

This retails for PHP265 when not on sale. But I got it for 'Buy 1, Take 1' so basically, I got each for only PHP132.50. Correct my Math, guys, I hate it.

Actually, I have no idea what Acerola is but it says there that it offers to brighten up your skin, so yeah. And the lemon! We all know that it works well in whitening and removing dead skin cells!

And it's as if I had any choice while I was at the store! The only available variants there is Acerola and Lemon. Hmm, smells like the others are fast-selling. Anyway, when I searched it on Facebook, both of their benefits are what my skin needs! Quite lucky, am I? Hoho!

I was just amazed when I saw the tub of Jeju Aloe in person! It's just so big, I'm almost overwhelmed at how it would take time to finish a single tub! Hoho! I'm gonna post separate reviews for these products soon!

So yeah, that's my The Face Shop Haul! Don't forget to visit their facebook page to know more of their upcoming sales.

Their 'Buy 1, Get 1' Promo on Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foams is also available in:
