Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation in Warm Nude Review

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation
Bought for: Sale at P230 | SRP: P400+
From: an online shop

I'm becoming quite proud of myself for scoring deals online lol. Take this for example, instead of spending P400 something on Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation, I got it for only P230! All you need is patience and good shopping skills lol. Anyway, today's spotlight will be on this another cult-fave drugstore foundation. I know there's a lot of reviews posted already, but let me still share to you all the good and bad things I can think of when I hear this popular foundation.

Claims

Fit Me® Matte + Poreless Foundation face makeup. This lightweight foundation mattifies and refines pores and leaves a natural, seamless finish. Ideal for normal to oily skin, our exclusive matte foundation formula features micro-powders to control shine and blur pores. Pore minimizing foundation. Dermatologist tested. Allergy tested. Non-comedogenic.

Packaging

I really like foundations in bottles because they look better when displayed, however, one thing that really disappoints me with this packaging is that it's quite messy to apply since it does not have a pump. The foundation tends to glide on the crater so I always end up wiping away excess products both on the cap and bottle. I wish it came with a pump so it's more convenient and hygienic to use. However, I appreciate that this foundation displays all necessary information on its body.

Shade

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation comes in 40 shades now when originally, there are only 29. It's good to know that they expanded the shade selection to cater to all skin tones. You'll most likely get your perfect fit with this extensive selection! I got the Warm Nude shade because this is the shade that appears when I did the Maybelline Foundation Shade Finder. Yes, I did rely on that for the reason that I suck at finding my perfect shade most of the time. Turns out, Warm Nude, which is way darker than my skin tone, blends on my face just the right way when applied with a lighter shade of powder.

Texture / Ease of Application

The product is quite runny compared to other foundations that I have. However, it means that this is lightweight on the skin--which is what I need since my face is really oily. Also, this foundation blends with ease using a sponge as long as you blend it right away. The formula dries real quick, giving a powder finish, so blend it as fast as you can. I am telling you that this foundation gives off a flat matte finish so patchiness is more likely to occur. What I advise is you use a damp sponge to keep the product blend-able until you're all set.

Since this foundation gives a matte finish, it can accentuate dry areas and fine lines of the face so I don't recommend it to those with dry skin. Maybelline has the Dewy and Smooth variant is more suitable for those with dry skin that needs hydration.

Pigmentation / Coverage

I intentionally swatch the foundation on my wrist where veins are obvious to check the coverage and pigmentation. I use more than enough amount on a small area of my skin and this is to say that this foundation has a sheer coverage. It does not completely hide my blemishes and pimple scars which is but fine with me, I would still prefer wearing this on a normal day to day basis to sport a natural look. I don't want people thinking, "sometimes she's flawless, other times she's not." If you know what I mean lol.

The foundation does not set in completely. It looks like it's floating on my face which is why I don't prefer putting another layer of this foundation on my skin, otherwise, I'd look ghostly pale and unnatural. However, I like that it is able to make my skin look more even out and shine-free.

Longevity

To be honest, this product didn't last long on my oily skin. I noticed that it also oxidized and seem like it's completely gone after 5-6 hours. I know that a good setting powder already helped a lot yet, still, it didn't last long.

Performance

Since Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation give off a powder finish, I prefer using it everyday when I am just going to work or running simple errands. However, it won't be my go-to foundation when I'll be going to special events or days when I will be out for more than work hours. I like that it did not break me out, blends well on my skin tone and controls oil and reduces the appearance of pores but my skin looks like it runs out of all its hydration so moisturizer underneath is necessary. Overall, this is still an efficient foundation that's reasonably priced. What about you? I'd love to hear your comments about it!

Zenutrients Tea Trea Scalp Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner
SRP: P156/P249 for 100/200ml (Shampoo); P182/P260 for 100/200ml (Conditioner)
Bought from: Sampleroom

I know I've said it a hundred times here in my blog, but if I'm taking a part of me for granted, it would be my mane. I'm used to having it thick, smooth and bouncy and I think that was because I frequently refrain from using harsh treatments and tools to fancy it. However, good things must come to an end if you don't take care of what's important--the reason why I've been vigilant and cautious on whatever I apply to my hair now. Prior to using these products, I swear that I had a bad case of dandruff and hair fall which can be attributed to stress and constant change of hair care products. My hair and scalp does look and feel awful and indecent that I had to get another hair cut done at a salon nearby. When I received a notification that Sample Room's stocking up on new products from Zenutrients (which I have been loving for quite some time), I had to grab some samples to try.

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo

My hair easily oil up, which is why I believe in the theory (is it?) that those with straight hairs have oilier manes than those with curly ones. Because of this, I really need to wash my hair at least once every day, otherwise, it would look flat, limp and greasy.  There are other factors too that makes it at its oiliest state at the end of the day--hair care products, pollution, sweat. Believe me, I encounter these things everyday. At the start of your day, it makes a big difference to take a bath and wash your hair. It is as if it also cleanses your mind and soul.

The point is, it also pays a lot having a nice shampoo to effectively clean away all accumulated dirt and oil on your scalp and hair that would also prevent the buildup of dandruff. Zenutrients Tea Trea Scalp Treatment Shampoo comes in a clear, runny liquid that sometimes I over pour it onto my dipper tabo. Yes, I do the traditional in terms of applying shampoo lol. What I do is mix it with a small amount of water first and since they are both clear in color, I tend to pour either insufficient or too much.

The shampoo and conditioner has a subtle tea tree and mint scent to it. I'm pretty much aware that not everyone likes that particular scent but you'll get used to it, I swear. It's not plain Tea Tree anyway, just focus on the cooling effect of mint. And also, the scent won't linger for few moments anyway, even though you just finished your bath.

The shampoo seems to lather much as I mix it with water but it gradually disappears right after I apply it on my hair. I thought, is my hair that dirty that it won't allow the shampoo to make suds? Well, I did have the opportunity to use it while I'm on vacation (at home lol) where my hair's not really expose to pollution but it's all the same--shampoo won't lather enough. Also, it feels heavy on the hair as if I have different treatments on! It really feels unusual and at first, I want to rinse it right away and lather the commercial shampoo I'm using instead. But I endured and I'm glad I did. Yes, it feels a little weird while you are applying it, you might even think it will make your hair greasier, but surprisingly, it won't weight your locks down.

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Conditioner

I am really having trouble with this packaging. I am forgiving with the shampoo as the formula's runny and it tends to slip down the narrow opening easily once you turn it upside down. But not for the conditioner which has a creamy and thick formulation that fails to dispense unless you pour so much effort tapping  and squeezing the bottle. I highly suggest that you buy the ones in bigger bottles for they come in pumps that easily dispenses the products.

The conditioner comes in pearly white shade that is really thick and creamy to the touch. Once you apply it to your hair, the texture disappears and it gives you the feeling that it is as if you are massaging your hair only with water. It does not feel very silky to the touch unlike other conditioners in the market which is but fine with me as long as it won't make my hair flat and limp. That is what I don't like with most conditioners, they over moisturize my hair that sometimes it feels a little bit greasy especially after commuting and sweating a lot. Which is also why I tend to skip this step every once in a while. The minty scent is very dominant to this product, and although it's suppose to give a cooling effect, I might say that it's barely noticeable unless you put a lot.

Overall Thoughts

I would say that I like these products especially they are both loaded with nutritional ingredients minus the harmful ones. They also effectively gets rid of itchy scalp and prevent the occurrence of dandruff. While my hair's still wet, it feels a little heavy but it eventually loses the feeling once it totally dries up. I just don't like the fact that these does not moisturize my hair enough or make it look shiny but still, it effectively keeps hair soft and smooth.

Have you tried this duo? Any thoughts? Let's talk about it down below!

Online Shopping and Selling With Carousell Philippines + Tips on Better Shopping Experience

(c) Google
I am the type of person who loves shopping online ever since I discovered the hassle-free online shopping as we avoid holiday or pay day rush. Recently, I shared with you, guys, my thoughts about the popular online market place, Shopee Philippines, and now I will be tackling about another online shopping platform which is called Carousell Philippines. I believe Carousell was launched in our country almost in the second quarter of 2016 and since e-commerce has been quite popular here, it is a good marketing strategy that Carousell (originates in Singapore) started to make an expansion in the country.

My Experience As a Seller

I didn't really mean to create a Carousell account before because I was quite 'successful' with Shopee. I easily declutter my items there so I thought, why would I start selling stuff at other platforms. After all, it will be a hassle uploading pictures and typing down descriptions all over again and was hard building trust and relationship especially when you are new to a community. But then, due to the fad, I decided to explore Carousell. I uploaded my stuff one by one and when I started getting feed backs from buyers and getting featured in the list of recommended sellers (for only a few positive feed backs), I enjoyed using it and became more active.

The best things about this application is that:
  • Carousell is user-friendly. Listing items is super easy. All you have to have are good photos then you can type the title, price and you're good to go. You have options to choose if the item is new or used or even include detailed descriptions to each item for more possible buyers.
  • Once we, seller, accepts the offer our buyers made, we can instantly leave a feedback for the buyer. So if the buyer is a bogus buyer or joy reserver, we can instantly leave a negative feedback on their profile which other people can see and make them aware of it.
  • All it takes is a single hashtag (#) to get featured in their categories. For example, Carousell will have a 50% off sale, you will receive a notification to include hashtags (ex. #sweldosale) on all items that you want to sell on a discounted price and the system will automatically detect it. It means...you'll get into buyer's radar!
  • Portability. Upload items anywhere, anytime!

My Experience As a Buyer

The best things about this application is that:
  • Items here are really rare and unique.
  • We can make offer to any items. If you love the products but hate their price, take chance to make an offer that suits your budget and who knows, sellers might accept it.
  • Easy browsing. Items are well categorized so you won't have problems browsing.
  • I find that preloved clothes at Carousell are way too cheaper than Shopee. I bought a few branded stuff from some sellers and I loved most of them.
  • Take advantage of the 50% off during their #SweldoSale and get good apparels at cheaper price!
  • Sellers and buyers can interact and make successful transactions with the private messaging feature.

What I Don't Like
  • It is harder to sell stuff since people are usually hesitant with shipping costs.
  • There is still possible fraudulence even with the feed back system.

Tips On Better Shopping Experience
  • Check the seller first for negative feed backs and issues and how the seller and buyer dealt with it before proceeding with the transactions.
  • Make sure an offer is accepted first before you pay/ship for the items so you can leave a neutral or a negative feedback just in case everything went wrong.
  • Include detailed and honest information about the product you are selling to avoid getting negative feedback and also, to enlighten your buyers that they are buying brand new or preloved stuff so they should manage their expectations.

Overall, I like Carousell Philippines since I really get lots of unique pieces here that are affordable and of good quality. Still, it is much easier to deal with buyers and sellers in Shopee due to numerous of perks and opportunities. I like Carousell all the same though and will keep it with me until I declutter all my unused stuff lol. While I have both applications, I don't need to spend so much effort and time going to malls.

Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturiser Review

Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturiser
Also available in all leading drugstores, department stores, supermarkets
Price: P100+/250ml (also available in different sizes)

Hello, girls! I don't want to bore you right now so I'm keeping this blog post as brief as possible. I just want to really post something nice about a product I recently got from Jeunesse Anion's event a few weeks ago which is this Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturiser. I have tried several variants from the Jergens skin care line and I loved them all. I had few reviews about them here, others were left un-posted. No wonder that apart from me, a lot of people also have been a loyal consumer of the said brand. Now, I have here a new love interest which I plan on repurchasing soon!

Claims and Ingredients

This product has parabens on it, which is linked to cancer, but I have been using products with parabens on it since I was a baby and can't you see how active and lively I am as of today (lol)? Things like this don't bother me anymore.

Packaging

The packaging is very simple, travel-friendly and I love how all necessary information are being fed to us in an informative way. Since they come even in 50ml bottles (which I use as hand lotion), I can simply bring it anywhere and anytime I want and use it whenever I feel like my skin is dry and in need of some intense hydration without the sticky feeling.

The lotion is creamy white in color, soft and creamy in texture and very coconut-ish in scent. Seriously, I'm addicted to the scent which even lingers for a few more hours after application. The lotion is very easy to apply on the skin, dries quickly and blends without the greasy and sticky feeling other moisturizing lotion gives. I love how it instantly hydrates the skin and the moisture and hydration last all day. Reapplication is not necessary unless you really have dry and scaly skin.

It claims to have hydralucence blend that instantly makes skin look luminous and glowy and which I can vouch for. I love how my skin looks so glowing and healthy every time I apply this lotion. For the price I'll have to pay, I'm really getting maximum results. I highly recommend this lotion to every one who wants to get rid of their scaly and parched pelts without spending a lot!

Have you tried Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturiser? Love it? I'm sure! Share your thoughts by commenting down below!

Making Life Easy

There are times when I feel really down, when I'm confused and seemed like heaven's forgotten about me. The worst feeling is having no one to turn to and I'm on that point when I'm feeling like I'm falling into depression. I might be smiling on the outside, greeted people with a warm hug and smile but deep down I'm dying. I give people advises. I give them a shoulder to cry on. I cheer for them, make them feel I'm on their side. I share laughter with them. I tell them that every thing's going to be all right. Just because I feel their pain. My point is, I wish I could tell that to myself.

I'm seeing no light and I felt so lonely. I want to tell them my own burden but I'm afraid they might not understand. But then I realized, I'm the one who's obviously  turning my back to people who are willing to lend a hand, to people who really care about me. I rarely talk personal 'cause I'm afraid I'll break down. I am never perfect. I am never true to myself. I have changing moods. I have this habit of keeping thoughts to myself and when I blurt them out, I feel like I'm being too nagging and opinionated. I hate myself just as much as I love it. Silence kills some people. I like it all the same. But maybe, I'm liking it because it's the only time I can think straight.

Now, I don't know what I am talking about anymore. This is me. I have so much running on my mind that I can't even keep up with the flow of a conversation. This is me writing this just so in case you're reading, you'll know how a person who seem so blessed has a dark past as well. You may not know everything in detail but you might understand.. This is me talking not only about myself. This is me telling you that I will always understand and sympathize and acknowledge your feelings. I know how it feels to be alone and it would help a lot if we show some weakness a few times, cry a few times, but it would pay off if we choose to still stand up despite everything and beat every challenges coming our way.

If you want to make life easy, reminisce on the past but never let it drag you down one more time. Acknowledge your flaws and be proud. No one's going to love you as much as you do. You might be flawed, you've hurt and offended a lot but take time to ponder and make sure you never do the same mistake again. Apologize sincerely to whom you've done wrong. You might lose them but remember you are just a person. Never neglect taking care of everyone who are still here. People come and go but hold onto them as long as they are with you so you won't regret a single time you let them go. Smile and mean it. Life is too short to focus on what's hurting you. Life is too long for opportunities you'd have to grab. Share your life to people who you can inspire and trust you rather than on people who's always picking on what you're lacking as a person. Lastly, be positive, you'll carry on.

Whiter Skin in 14 Days With Seoul Skin Jinju White Korean Derma Quality Soap + Review

Seoul Skin Jinju White Soap
Bought for: Free | SRP: P100+ (prices vary)
From: Pia Skin

I discovered something recently--another Korean product a lot of people has been raving about online. A lot of bloggers and even celebrities are all praise with this soap. Yeah, me too. I wondered why. When Pia Skin sent me one together with the cheek and lip tint, I was so stoked to try it but it was only a few weeks ago since I really started using it religiously ('cause I was testing another product back then) to see what's with all the hype. Apart from all the enticing claims and gained loyalty from consumers, I had high expectations with soap 'cause it is being sold in the market at a higher price so maybe anyone who wish to try one is really paying for something.

Claims, Ingredients, Manufacturing and Expiry Dates
CLAIMS

Jinju White is the latest in technological advancement through the extraction of earth's purest ingredients clinically proven to brighten, lighten and moisturize any tired and dull skin. It deep cleanses, unclogs and minimize pores, lighten dark areas, clears acne blemishes, remove acne scars and brighten overall complexion. Achieve fair, smooth, even toned skin with Jinju White Korean Derma Whitening Soap.

PACKAGING

I am definitely not someone you'll see dressed in pink or buy pink collectibles but if you have been a manufacturer of products in pink packaging, you will definitely see me stare at it them in awe. I'm still a girl after all! I know you also admire the pink box with necessary information printed on it like the claims, ingredients, manufacturing and expiry dates and proof of authenticity. Well, I don't know if someone already are making imitations of this soap but who knows who and when, right? Better be careful when buying online though!

PERFORMANCE

The soap comes in an opaque pure white color with the name engraved on it. It is the size of a normal bar of soap which does not easily melt on soap dishes, good thing! Mine's been getting used up twice a day for two weeks and it is still as hard as it was brand new but less than a quarter its original size. It has a very subtle scent which is not bothersome at all. It does smell like powder for me lol. Don't trust my sense of smell though, I'm bad at describing scents haha.

This soap lathers well on the body. It gently cleanses skin without any itchiness even though I let it sit for more than 5 minutes per bath. This soap targets melasma, dryness, dark spots, acne, hyper pigmentation and uneven tan lines. Right now, I am only after getting rid of my tan lines and uneven skin tone especially on the previous days that I go home without using umbrella, when my sunscreen has died down and when the sun's at its most harmful state.  I know using one soap is not enough to get rid of all dark spots as well but I can vouch on this soap's effectiveness in making skin bright and glowing and it's turner brighter and more glowing each day than when I first use it! I forgot to track the days I am using this but I noticeably see a healthier glow on my skin especially on my body. I used to think I got really dark but this soap is able to bring back radiance. If you love the beach and got tanned, you got the right soap right here!

I used to have darker arms than my legs 'cause they are always exposed to the sun (I like wearing snug-fitting jeans) but now I noticed that my skin has noticeably look more even. I can tell my arms is of the same color to my legs and this made me dance with glee. Now I know why a lot of people has been raving about it and the 14 Days Whitening Challenge is true! The only downside I experienced with this is that it is drying on the skin. It makes my skin feel taut and I really need a good body moisturizer after wash. I know it's normal with whitening soaps. And while you are using this, slather a generous amount of sunblock to reap all benefits instead of getting darker.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I really like this soap to be honest and I highly recommend it to everyone even to those with sensitive skin prior to patch test. It is mild on skin and is effective in removing dull skin. Now I know what I will be paying extra for. Who will not like glowing arms? Not me! I will always remember what someone said to me just the other day, "Mas maputi ka na pala sakin, Hanna, eh!" I always see this soap being sold in bundles online and I plan on repurchasing. I love it and I thank Pia Skin for introducing me to Seoul Skin Jinju White  Korean Derma Quality Soap!

Until my next post! Let me know if you have tried this! Happy blogging!

EB Cosmetics Korea Facial Foam Cleanser, Instant Whitening Cream and Aqua Moisturizing Cream Reviews

EB Cosmetics Korea Facial Foam Cleanser
EB Cosmetics Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream
EB Cosmetics Korea Instant Whitening Cream
Bought for: P15/P18/P18
Bought from: Watsons

In my brief trip to Watsons a few weeks ago, I spotted these new skin care products from EB Cosmetics. It's no stranger to me that they also mass-producing beauty items apart from their wide array of affordable makeups, but these really caught my attention. Their names look familiar? Very iWhite Korea lol. I'm pretty sure that's what pops into your heads as well, no? Aside from that fact, they also come in cute bright sachets, no wonder your eyes will lay easily on them while your looking through shelves of alike products.

PACKAGING

I really can't help but admire the chicness of their packaging especially the one that comes in pink color. I personally don't like bright shades but here I am right now, drooling over the cutesy of their designs. They don't come in tubes of bottles as of late (correct me if I'm wrong), so you have to be careful when you bring this anywhere you go as actions may squeeze the products out and create a mess on your bag. However, those who are in tight budgets like me and those who want to try out samples first before buying full sized products, them coming in sachets is very helpful then, don't you agree?

EB Cosmetics Korea Facial Foam Cleanser

This product is transparent white in shade, has a subtle floral fragrance and foams richly once applied on skin. You don't have to squeeze out a lot because a little of it goes a long way already. Unlike other foam cleansers which seem firm and thick, this one has thinner consistency and is smooth on the touch. I am not really a fan of foam cleanser (most of them caused me to severely break out), but this one feels more gentle on skin and did not break me out once. Also, I did not experienced the sudden breakouts I usually am having because of the transition from previous skincare to new ones. What I advise you to do is slowly incorporate new products on your trusted ones to avoid irritating the skin.

Claims and Ingredients

This product claims to purify skin, remove oil and makeup residue while maintaining your skin's natural moisture. I would say it lives up to its promise of deep cleansing the skin because every time I use a cotton with cleanser or toner on it, dirt and oil seem to be less and less noticeable. However, it fails on its claim to maintain skin's natural moisture for its drying on skin. I expect it to be since all foam cleanser I have tried tightens and dry out my skin big time.

EB Cosmetics Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream

The formula of Aqua Moisturizing Cream is similar to that of iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream--very lightweight as it only feels like applying water (with a teeny bit of moisture) on your skin. iWhite Korea's more tinted and looks like droplets of water once blended though and EB Cosmetic's sheerer. Both easily blends on the skin and dries fast as well without leaving skin looking oily. Overtime though, my skin feels a little bit greasy once my natural oils start to blend with the product so I have to either blot or douse some powder onto it. I kind of expect it because I have super oily skin.

This product does all its claim and I can vouch for that. Since the facial foam cleanser is a bit drying on the skin, I can't help but reach for a reliable moisturizer that will effectively and sufficiently moisturizes the skin without the heavy feeling oily skinned girls dreaded. Good thing, I have this Aqua Moisturizing Cream that instantly hydrates the skin, gets rid of tautness and makes skin soft and smooth. Using this with other EB Cosmetic products did cause me any adverse reactions.

EB Cosmetics Korea Instant Whitening Cream

This product is a creamy white, sort of whipped cream textured moisturizer that instantly brightens out skin tone. Be careful not to apply too much as it creates strong white cast due to titanium dioxide, a known ingredient for sunscreen products or those that are SPF-based. Although it does not say exactly that this cream has an SPF protection on it, I presume it protects skin even a tiny bit from sun exposure due to this ingredient. And now that I say this, I wish EB Cosmetics would improve on their product descriptions.

This product did not break me out even though it feels warm on the skin -- due to its thicker formulation than the Aqua Moisturizing Cream. Although this product delivers moisture and make skin look smooth and supple, I still prefer lighter creams.

Moreover, this product is not a good base under foundation for it makes it and even powders look cake-y and the white cast is a bit of a turn-off. You know that I don't like putting heavy coverage on my skin 'cause I like it looking naturally fresh. On lazy days (which is pretty much every day), I prefer putting Aqua Moisturizing Cream and this alone and would layer it with a transparent powder. I was shocked 'cause my skin looked patchy and dry because of extreme white cast. I even looked ghostly pale! It's either you put only a small amount and make sure to blend it evenly using a powder brush instead of your hands (avoid this!!!) to avoid clumping and such. Also, I hate that this cream clings on pores and dry patches of the skin on the first few hours so whenever I sweat , the cream kinds of float on my skin. As a result, I have to check myself in the mirror every now and then to make sure it stays on place.

From left to right: Instant Whitening Cream, Aqua Moisturizing Cream, Facial Foam Cleanser

Here is a close up picture using all three products. I have to only use a very small amount of Instant Whitening Cream all the time because it feels a little greasy for my preference. My skin looks dewy and more even toned. All it takes is a bit of powder and you're good to go! Fresh skin lang ang peg lol.

Sorry for the shameless selfie!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I do like these products. I can't tell which is my first pick. Is it the Facial Foam Cleanser or the Aqua Moisturizing Cream? I can't decide! But definitely the Instant Whitening Cream is on my least favorite just because I find it a little bit harder to blend than the other one. Before I leave you to ponder with these whether on not you should try, here's some pieces of advise. Apply only a small amount of the products on your skin. They go a long way already. You probably might not like it if you apply too much foam because it is drying and too much creams results to greasiness. I recommend both Aqua Moisturizing and Instant Whitening Cream to everyone--whether you have dry or oily skin--just put in sufficient amount and do not overdo. These products are also made up of lots of natural ingredients and plant extracts which makes skin healthy and youthful!

Tell me if you are to try EB Cosmetics products! Happy blogging!

Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Face Powder Review

Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Face Powder
Bought for: P380 | SRP: P500+
Bought from: an online shop

You know I'm a huge hoarder of any good stuff on huge sale. Right there and then when I saw that a legit online seller was having this powder on sale, I did not think twice and put it on my cart. Later that day, I paid for the item and immediately received it right on my door step a couple of days after. I had my eyes on it for quite some time (well, since I immerse myself in beauty and skin care products) and I was really delighted that, finally, I am having the opportunity to see what's with all the hype.

Claims and Ingredients

PACKAGING

The tub is quite bulky as you can see with 65g of products inside. P500 is quite pricey at first but if you think of it, you get a tub almost the size of your palm! It's very economical since you only need a small amount to use every application. I think this tub will last me a year considering I only use it to set my foundation each time I'm off to work.

I'm actually not a fan of these type of packaging since they are fragile and not travel-friendly. Also, you still have to remove the seal (when you want to really get a good amount of product) if you don't want to waste time making powders come out of those tiny filters and onto powder brushes or puff. I personally don't use the accompanying puff as it kind of douse powder on the skin but not totally blend it.

SHADES

There are a lot of shades of Coty Airspun which you can choose from depends on your skin tone: Translucent Extra Coverage, Muted Beige, Honey Beige, Translucent, Naturally Neutral, Rosey Beige, Fragrance-free and Suntan. I prefer Translucent Extra Coverage because I think it is the safest choice if you don't personally know what shade suits you best but still want to try something with a little bit of coverage.

SCENT

A beauty legacy since 1935...So I have heard that the manufacturer of this product did not change the formulation of the powder. It's still the same as it's previous years, probably why I'm getting a hint of classic perfume scent on it. People may find it a little overwhelming (especially those who find well-fragranced products unbearably awful), but I personally love it. I love how it gives me added scent a few more hours after application. Anyway, you may opt for the fragrance-free variant if you don't prefer the scented ones.

TEXTURE, COVERAGE, AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The powder pigment is finely milled, soft and smooth to the touch and gives off a sheer coverage (parang fresh and natural lang, ganun). It is true that when you touch it, you will imagine cloud-like softness. According to Coty, the powders are undergoing a special method of production as it is being spun by air through a "micronizer" until it reaches its smoothest, softest and finest texture, thus it's name. The powder easily adhere to the skin and blends effortlessly due to the pigment's minuscule size. It also imparts a soft focus like finish as its blurs pores and other skin imperfections.

LONGEVITY AND OIL CONTROL

I'm always using my RT powder blush to apply this powder and set my foundation and I love how it gives an airbrush and shine-free finish. I would say that this powder is more suitable for those with oily skin for it effectively mattifies the face adn remove the look of dewiness or greasiness. However, it does not control oil dramatically and the longest time I have this on without looking shiny is about 2-3 hours, even longer if I only have my sunblock and this. I won't take it against Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder 'cause I know I was really blessed with super oily skin and the foundations I use may be one of the contributing factors why I oil up easily. Still, having this on my makeup pouch is quite useful in times I need a quick retouch.

PERFORMANCE

This product has a very matte finish that could give a tiny bit of white cast so use sparingly. If you prefer a hydrated look, do not use a lot. I would not say it does not suit those with drier skin tone but if you are to use this, keep using it in small quantities to avoid a flat matte finish.

Usually, I tend to break out from using heavily-scented products but not from this one. I still consider it as one of the best setting powders in the market that are economical to use and effective in reducing shine on the face. Although it does not totally hide imperfections especially blemishes and dark spots  on times I prefer to use it alone (C'mon, Hanna, leave it to foundations and concealer!), I still love this product and I highly recommend it to everyone. I'm sure to repurchase once I ran out!

Have you tried Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder? Loved it as much I did?

Pretty Secret Bamboo Charcoal, Tea Tree and Cool Mint Oil Blotting Papers Review

Pretty Secret Oil Blotting Papers
Variants: Bamboo Charcoal, Tea Tree and Cool Mint
Bought for: P49.99/ea
Bought from: Watsons

Even with busy schedule, I happened to drop by Watsons near the place where I worked a few weeks ago. I was supposed to buy something for my mom when I remembered I ran out of oil control sheets, which happen to be a must-have for someone who oils up pretty excessively. It has been an essential for me for quite a while now because sometimes most of the time, I'm just too lazy to retouch and the best hack to stay fresh again is to blot out oils (right?). I was supposed to repurchase my favorite Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Face Absorbent Paper but then again, it , together with shipping fee, is kinda impractical for my preference. I decided to settle with some blotting papers I just find so affordable and little did I know that I will like them as much as I like Leiania's. In this blog, I will tell you why. Keep on reading!

Each box contains 60 sheets, not bad for P49.99. The sheets are housed in pastel-colored cardboard which is too cute, don't you think? Although getting a sheet is quite challenging. I prefer the packaging of Leiania 'cause they came up with pull in sheets. Still, I like it because it displays all necessary information like benefits, manufacturing and expiry dates, directions and cautions.

I don't think there are differences in terms of texture and ability to absorb oil. Bamboo Charcoal comes with gray sheets, Tea Tree comes with bright green sheets while Cool Mint is a darker green. They also have different scents depends on variant.

These oil control sheets may look sheer but surprisingly they are matte and soft and does not easily tear apart. They excel in absorbing all excess oils to keep skin matte and smooth in an instant. For me, one to two sheets is enough to blot away oils (still depends though on humidity).

Overall, these are pretty good steal! They are affordable and works well to remove oil! I have purchased quite few absorbent papers from Watsons and for me, these are the best by far. They really suck out oil deep down and I wouldn't see any shine on my fingers as I try to smoothe it on my skin. I just don't think they really do something to minimize oil secretion but still, this is highly recommended to everyone and I would definitely repurchase!
