Regret Purchase: Lameila PH Gentleness Don't Harm The Skin Face Wipes Oil Blotting Sheets

Lameila PH Face Wipes Oil Blotting Sheets
Bought for: P29/each
Bought from: Lameila PH

Do you still remember my tipid haul from Shopee last time? I was planning to only buy cotton pads from Lameila but because there were tons of other beauty tools and products that interest me, I couldn't help but cave in. I kept carting products until I was quite short from availing the free shipping option. I saw these blotting papers for only P29 and I was like, oh right, it won't hurt a lot and I'm running out of blotting sheets after all. Oily skin necessities, you know!

I got two of these and I guess for a 29-peso product, you really can't expect a lot. I like the very cute packaging but inside is just a total mess. I mean, look at that. The papers were crumpled and they aren't neatly tucked together either. I couldn't help noticing how they were cut unevenly too.

The sheets are bluish in color and to be honest, it doesn't suck up too many oils. It also tears very easily. Now that I think about it, I feel like I've just wasted about 60 bucks when I could have bought a much better blotting paper like the ones from Pretty Secret's (P49).

Also, I would need to use about three sheets per retouch just because. So yeah, nope, not everything that's cheap actually saves you money. I'm not gonna repurchase but that doesn't mean I'll stop buying from Lameila PH. Their beauty tools comes in fun colors and are absolutely of use!

Clean & Clear Oil Control Films Review (Scented and Unscented)

Clean & Clear Scented Oil Control FIlm 50s (P145)
Clean & Clear Unscented Oil Control FIlm 60s (P126)
Bought from: Johnson & Johnson

Clean & Clear Oil Control Films are way long existing but because I think they are unfairly over-priced compared to other competitors, I never got the chance to try them until later June 2018 when J&J was on sale. I am a sucker for good quality blotting sheets, in fact I have found a few good ones such as Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Face Absorbent Paper and Pretty Secret Oil Blotting Papers which I constantly repurchase just because. After trying out Clean & Clear's, I now have a clearer idea why these are cult-faves.

Claims
Clean & Clear Oil Control Film instantly soaks up excess oil and removes shine from your face without smudging makeup or leaving behind powder. Softer than paper, these silky sheets can be used easily around your nose and other areas of the face. Leaves your skin oil-free and shine-free.

Packaging

Comes in a standard packaging for oil blotting papers, one tiny detail makes it so unique. It has a double-sided tape attached to the cardboard so when you pull it open, a film would come out. This is very smart of Clean & Clear as it allows us to get a sheet without over-pulling another.

The texture of the product is something they did think of thoroughly. They are made of silky, silicon-y papers that do not tear easily and it has a velvety feel that does not rub on the skin and smudge makeup.

Both variants does the same job in taking out all shine and oil from my skin. The only difference is the color--scented being peach in color and unscented in a sky blue shade. The scented one has a citrusy scent I really love but could be a bit overwhelming to those who prefer fragrance-free products. Both films turn to a transparent color once soaked with oils. I like that the oils do not transfer to my hands--the thing with other cheap, substandard blotting papers.

These products are worth splurging for. I know high-end brands also sell blotting papers and it made me realize how cheap these products are compared to those. You can't beat it for its quality and now I can say I would repurchase no matter what. I might hoard once they got on sale too! Let me know what are your suggested blotting papers down below!

Pretty Secret Facial Powder Paper: Controls Shine + Instant Retouch

Pretty Secret Facial Powder Paper
Bought for:  P49 (60 sheets)
Bought from: Watsons

Last year, I reviewed about Pretty Secret Bamboo Charcoal, Tea Tree and Cool Mint Oil Blotting Papers and raved how these are such great products made of quality sheets that effectively remove oils without the pricey tags. Now, I've recently discovered another variant from the same brand, their Facial Powder Paper that claims to perform dual action (controls shine + instant retouch). It's basically a normal blotting sheet that is face powder-infused so when you dab it on your face, you take away and absorb the oils and the powder cling to your skin for a quick retouch. That's pretty smart. I have tried one of these before and it's pretty much the same with the one from Silk Secrets but a little bit cheaper...and perhaps better.

Packaging

As you can tell, it comes in typical cardboard packaging but I love how Pretty Secret made the design attractive and chic. It has complete labeling and information about the product including benefits, use, ingredients, date of expiration and manufacturing.

Overall Performance

The sheets aren't thin enough to easily tear when it absorbed too much oils. It smells like typical talc pressed powder which isn't bothersome for me at all. When you smoothe your fingers on the sheet, you get an orange-y powder which kinda turns me off. It's not as if as it imparts or add a strong color on your makeup but I would prefer if its transparent at least. Though the powder is orange-y, it does not contribute any coverage. However, it tends to worsen the look of the base by making it appear cakey and too flat. While I don't really buy that talcum powders are unsafe, I find it quite alarming that it has talc on it and Kaolin (a kind of clay which I find too mattifying) too. If you are not a fan, you wouldn't like it.

Everything's based on my personal preference, I guess. I don't prefer blotting sheets like these anymore. However, on days that I am makeup-free, I like using it because it blots away excess oil and prevent shine, making my skin look more decent. I just don't prefer it on top of makeup, that's it. For the price of P49, this is a convenient product to own especially if you are always on the rush. You can also spot this in almost all Watson stores nationwide.

Have you tried Pretty Secret Facial Powder Paper? Any thoughts?

Pretty Secret Bamboo Charcoal, Tea Tree and Cool Mint Oil Blotting Papers Review

Pretty Secret Oil Blotting Papers
Variants: Bamboo Charcoal, Tea Tree and Cool Mint
Bought for: P49.99/ea
Bought from: Watsons

Even with busy schedule, I happened to drop by Watsons near the place where I worked a few weeks ago. I was supposed to buy something for my mom when I remembered I ran out of oil control sheets, which happen to be a must-have for someone who oils up pretty excessively. It has been an essential for me for quite a while now because sometimes most of the time, I'm just too lazy to retouch and the best hack to stay fresh again is to blot out oils (right?). I was supposed to repurchase my favorite Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Face Absorbent Paper but then again, it , together with shipping fee, is kinda impractical for my preference. I decided to settle with some blotting papers I just find so affordable and little did I know that I will like them as much as I like Leiania's. In this blog, I will tell you why. Keep on reading!

Each box contains 60 sheets, not bad for P49.99. The sheets are housed in pastel-colored cardboard which is too cute, don't you think? Although getting a sheet is quite challenging. I prefer the packaging of Leiania 'cause they came up with pull in sheets. Still, I like it because it displays all necessary information like benefits, manufacturing and expiry dates, directions and cautions.

I don't think there are differences in terms of texture and ability to absorb oil. Bamboo Charcoal comes with gray sheets, Tea Tree comes with bright green sheets while Cool Mint is a darker green. They also have different scents depends on variant.

These oil control sheets may look sheer but surprisingly they are matte and soft and does not easily tear apart. They excel in absorbing all excess oils to keep skin matte and smooth in an instant. For me, one to two sheets is enough to blot away oils (still depends though on humidity).

Overall, these are pretty good steal! They are affordable and works well to remove oil! I have purchased quite few absorbent papers from Watsons and for me, these are the best by far. They really suck out oil deep down and I wouldn't see any shine on my fingers as I try to smoothe it on my skin. I just don't think they really do something to minimize oil secretion but still, this is highly recommended to everyone and I would definitely repurchase!

Finess Green Tea Scent Oil Control Sheet Review

Okay, hi guys! Just some warning, don't proceed if you are scared or can't take ugly bare faces LOL. All the same, I really want to apologize for having the guts to write this review with shameless selfies using Finess Green Tea Scent Oil Control Sheet. I just badly want to show you how I am suffering from oily skin which never really goes away. Hello? Genes. On the contrary, I'm equally grateful that I am born with active sebaceous glands, at least, I'm lesser prone to premature aging. Anyway, this is why blotting papers are staples in my daily essentials. I'm used to blotting away excess oils first before retouching to avoid cakey makeups. On lucky days, oil control films saves the makeup right away and make it look fresh like it's newly-applied.

If I am not mistaken, one tiny box with 100 sheets inside retails for no more than P40 and is locally available at supermarkets, department stores and leading drugstores. You can avail it at a reasonable price point too!

Finess Oil Control Sheets are available in different looks and designs of packaging which, for me, is kind of cute. Mine's the green tea one. It's indeed very lightweight, handy and is convenient to use anytime of the day. I always make sure to keep a pack wherever I go as I'll never know when I'll be needing it.

Finess Green Tea Scent Oil Control Sheet is colored light green and a bit shinier compared to matte sheets (I just made it up lol but there are really blotting papers that are matte in texture). It sips up oil and dirt accumulated on my face, good thing. My makeup don't transfer on it either. However, for skin that's super oily like me, one or two of these won't be enough. If I am to compare it with other films I have tried before, I would say that this is on the least of my favorites. The sheets are thin and could easily tear up and absorbs lesser oil in the process.

My skin looks fresher in the photo above after blotting away oils but it took me three blotting sheets to achieve this matte-looking complexion. To be honest, I tried better absorbing papers before at almost the same price point. I still love my Leiania House of Beauty Blotting Sheets more though. I would repurchase should the price drops lower (haha!). Though technically speaking, I'm not liking it very much. Still, if you are on a tight budget, you can give this a test run to see how it works.

Silk Secrets Aloe Vera and Powdered Oil Control Sheets Review

Silk Secrets Aloe Vera Oil Control Sheets
Bought for: P30+
Bought from: Watsons, SM Manila

Ever since I got familiar to the use of blotting papers, I just could not let myself ran out of it anymore given my super duper oily skin. Unfortunately, oily on ALL parts and areas. And since I could not find any products to significantly reduce my severe oil production, I tend to rely on affordable yet potent products that could help me get over with this unceasing knot every day. And because I am too sincere in finding the best control sheets there is in the beauty market, here's two from a drugstore brand named Watson. Won't talk about them anymore, oh come on, everyone knows what Watson's in-store to everyone.

Silk Secrets Aloe Vera Oil Control Sheets aims to removes oil and dirt from skin, keeps face shine-free with its soft and gentle formula and its handiness. It comes in mint-colored thin absorbent papers that are really soft and gentle. Unfortunately, the sheets are averagely thin and could tear up easily once oil is absorbed so try to pat with a light hand. Moreover, it does not absorb too much oil from my face so another sheet is necessary to somehow reduce the shine on the skin.

I prefer the type of packaging which allows consumers to take one sheet at a time rather than how Silk Secrets Oil Control Sheets are packaged as I tend to "over-pull" sheets and end up wasting them because I can't easily return them back.

Silk Secrets Powdered Blotting Paper
Bought for: P60+
Bought from: Watsons, SM Manila

In all honesty, I like the Powdered Blotting Paper better than the Aloe Vera variant. No wonder it is pricier because it is more functional with the accompanied fine powder pigments so you sort of absorb oil while instantly imparting a fresher complexion, saving a little extra effort. However, I am not much a fan of its scent because it smells like typical pressed powders infused with chemicals, if you get what I mean.

The Powdered Blotting Paper has thicker sheets prolly because of the powder but it is still not tear-proof even with light hands. Still, I would love to recommend this because it really removes oil from the skin making it look fresh and shine-free. The best part? Each are super affordable given the large amount of sheets inside so I still think it's worth a try.

Poke me once you decided to purchase one for yourself, will you? Happy blogging!

Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Natural Plant Extract Face Absorbent Paper Review

Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Natural Plant Extract Face Absorbent Paper
Bought for: Free | Original Price: P130

Everyone's been raving about the popular oil control films from Clean and Clear, Mary Kay, NYX, etc. With all the trends in the organic skin care, it's just so amazing that they can compete with commercial brands and come up with innovative skin care products. I think one of the newest invention is the oil control sheets.

If you can't persevere til the end of this post, yes, I've got a new favorite from Leiania House of Beauty! Ever since I used blotting papers, I just can't resist buying some more. Currently, I have three which I bought from Watsons. When Ms. Favia hosted a giveaway with this absorbent paper as one of the prizes, my eyes gone wide and found myself joining in. Luckily, I won! I have been eyeing this for quite some time (if you have super oily skin, you definitely would) and I'm really delighted to finally get my hands on it!

When opened, you will immediately notice that its reeks of green tea which smells so nice for me. The packaging looks very informative too and unlike other package designs of blotting papers, this one has an easy pull-out packaging. Sometimes, I'm kinda surprise to see that I have pulled two to three sheets of blotting papers and due to tight space, I just can't return the excess back. Good thing, Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Natural Plant Extract Face Absorbent Paper has this kind of slim package design that singles out sheets. And did I mention that it's super handy?

To be honest, among all other blotting papers I have tried, this has an almost tear-proof paper probably because of the hemp wood pulp (believe me, I have no idea what this is or what it's made of). Most of the oil control sheets I tried before tears apart easily once soaked with oil. I think this absorbent papers from Leiania House of Beauty has thicker pads because every time I use it, I barely consume the whole paper to clear out my face oil. It's just so amazing because with other films, I tend to consume at least two and I would still be in dire need of powder to really mattify my skin and bring back the freshness.

By just simply dabbing it on the wholeness of my face, I would immediately notice how my skin would look as fresh as newly-washed. It also does not move makeup and such. Its oil-controlling power is superb, definitely my most favorite blotting sheet to date. Because of how affordable it is, I would be more than willing to repurchase. Be on sale please! Also, I recommend it to anyone and with its antibacterial formula, you can't get wrong with this!

Have you tried Leiania House of Beauty Tea Fresh Organic Green Tea Natural Plant Extract Face Absorbent Paper? What do you think? Please let me know! Happy blogging!
