REVIEW: Gluta-C Insta-White Cream

The first ever product from Gluta-C that I've tried is this Gluta-C Insta-White Cream. And this is the reason why I decided to buy the other Gluta-C products because it's really effective for my skin. Anyway, this is the second time that I purchased three sachets.

I first notice this little sachets when I was roaming around Watsons (SM Manila). The first thing I've noticed is the price. I was a little shocked because these three sachets retails for 59php. So it's like 20php for one sachet and it's only 7 ml in content! It's quite pricier compared to Pond's and Olay, but that time, I was intigued. Maybe it's a little expensive because it's more effective. And I was never this sure in my life that I've really noticed change in my complexion. My face became whiter and more glowing by just finishing these three sachets. I had minimal breakouts as well while I use this product! (Anyway, one sachet is good for 8 uses only as indicated.)

Gluta-C Insta-White Cream

Application:

I used to apply this twice a day after I put on Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Day Cream in the morning and Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Serum at night.

What I like:

  • no harsh chemicals
  • smells like green tea
  • has Glutathione and Vitamin C Concentrate
  • does its job well in whitening and mositurizing
  • does not leave my skin sticky/oily/greasy
  • very light on skin
  • quickly absorbed by the skin

What I don't like:
  • comes in sachets only

So that's it guys! You might as well check out my other Gluta C products review! Happy blogging! xx

Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Serum Review

Hi, beauties! So the fourth product under my Gluta-C Products Haul would be Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Serum! And tell you what, this is my most favorite! I am really happy to finally share with you my experience about this product!

First of all, it should only be applied at night while use the Gluta-C Intense Whitening Day Cream in the morning. But I can't get enough of it! I wanted to use it all day and night because of the effects and feeling it does give me. So yeah, I look like I'm totally obsessed with this product, which is definitely true! Hahah!

The best thing about this product is noticeable upon waking up with that soft, smooth and glowing skin. Seriously, I look forward to waking up every morning just to feel my skin well-repaired as the serum works its wonders overnight. And that's what totally impresses me! It's actually the first time I used a serum on my face, and I pretty much prefer it compared to oil-based night creams. I just loved it so much!

Being a serum, it's an oil-free product. And with my oily skin, this suits my skin well enough. And another thing I love about it is it's true to its claims. After finishing the bottle, I noticed that my skin whitened but not much and my skin tone evened out. Some of the blemishes and pimple marks slightly faded as well, leaving me fairer and more glowing skin.

Application

After I scrub my face at night using Gluta- C Intense Whitening Body Scrub and toned it with Gluta-C Intense Whitening Toner, I apply the serum all over my face and neck using gentle strokes, leaving my face soft and smooth! I also follow it with Gluta-C Insta-White Cream.

What I like
  • does what it claims well
  • smells good (not too strong)
  • quick absorption
  • tightening and firming because of the collagen and seaweed extract
  • brightens skin tone
  • moisturizing without the sticky feeling
  • with Glutathione and Vitamin C known for effective whitening properties
  • retails for only 199.75php for 30ml tube
  • comes in squeezable tube for easy application
  • widely available

What I don't like
  • Whitening takes some time

So that's it guys! You might as well check out my other Gluta C products review! Happy blogging!

Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Day Cream Review

Hi, guys! If you read my previous post about Gluta-C Products Haul, I have promised there to put a review on each product after I've tested them myself. And now, I am ready to share to you what I think of this Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Day Cream! Sorry if it takes years, kidding.

I call myself as an avid user of moisturizers ever since, especially those whitening ones. I can still remember two years ago when I used to stay under the sun because we were practicing our Citizenship Advancement Training or CAT. It's like a military training which we were required to attend to from third year high school up to fourth year. I never used sunscreen products during those times since I am still not aware of the harmful effects the sun can give my skin. Seriously, it's like I grew up too late, I cry. Anyway, we were not allowed to put anything on our face, so that's why. And staying under the sun for at least six hours per week in two years, gave me this ugly dark face which so far has been improved due to constant usage of whitening products.

Now, you can't get me to stay outdoors without applying products that has SPF properties! Hahah! Perks of learning! :P

So the facial cream is cheaper than their night serum. Honestly, I like this product because it could be a good makeup base, however, for an oily-typed skin (like mine), I don't recommend using the Gluta-C Intense Whitening Facial Cream since it would make your face sweat a lot. It would leave your face with that sticky, greasy, oily feel which I really, really hate on face creams. After applying it on my face, my face feels heavy so to somehow decrease the uncomfortable feeling, I just tap on some press powder onto my face.

So this product offers whitening benefits due to its Glutathione, Root extracts, Vitamin A, C, and E contents, sun protection, anti-aging, and moisturizing factors.

Application

I wash my face with a mild soap in the morning, pat dry, and then I apply Gluta-C Whitening Toner before using Gluta-C Intense Whitening Day Cream. And tada! I'm off to somewhere!

What I like
  • whitens effectively (after a month use)
  • really moisturizes, best for people with normal to dry skin
  • has Glutathione, Vitamin C, A, and E
  • makes skin soft and smooth
  • smells not too overpowering
  • has SPF25 for sun protection
  • widely available
  • retails for only 149.75php for a 30ml tube
  • comes in squeezable tube for better application

What I don't like:
  • leaves my face feeling sticky probably because of the Shea Butter (I recommend to avoid using product with Shea Butter if your skin is suffering from oiliness just like me, instead use water-based products which are light on your skin)
  • though having SPF properties, I wish it could be at least SPF30
  • makes my face oily

So that's it guys! You might as well check out my other Gluta C products review! Happy blogging!

SWATCH & REVIEW: Cutex Nail Polishes in Shades of Pink Nail Art

Do you know what's the best thing to do when bored? Paint your nails.

I started this blog when I figured out that I want to build my own nail polish collection. I prefer buying local products at the moment since they are much cheaper compared to those high-end ones, though, in my own opinion, they offer less satisfactory results. I do not consider it as a problem since I am changing my polish more so often that I don't mind if a bottle of a local nail polish brand chips more easily compared to those expensive ones because I can always re-apply depends on my kind of shade. It would also save me a lot while I do manicure myself.

Rummaging through my nail polish stash, I found these pink shades from Cutex (I believe that it isn't a local nail polish brand though it's four times cheaper). Cutex is so far my most favorite nail lacquer brands because;
  • it does not easily chips
  • it does not create bubbles
  • it dries out quickly
  • it has a nice brush for easy application
  • it is toxic trio-free
  • it has keratin to strengthen nails
  • it comes in a cute size bottle
  • nice shades especially those shades that are duo-chromatic
  • it retails for only 109.75php, but they are 50% off at the moment

However, I have here few negative points for this brand because they are;
  • difficult to look for. I bought mine from Watsons (SM San Lazaro & Victory Mall). I don't know if other Watsons have them.
  • comes in very limited shades only and I hope there are some more
  • frosty nail polishes are streaky when applied
  • smells too strong

Anyway, here's a photo of my current nails! I really love it because it's just so easy to do and let me show you how I did it! Picture! Picture!

My oh-so-yummy nails!

What I used for my nails this time?

Cutex Nail Polishes in It's My Mystique, I Pink Therefore I Am, Strawberry Fields, Charmed, Caronia Base Coat, Top Coat, Cuticle Conditioner, Scotch Tape, and Scissors

Four shades of pink by Cutex! L-R: I Pink Therefore I Am, Charmed, It's My Mystique, Strawberry Fields

Here's the process on how I made this elegant-looking nail art!

First, is to paint your nails with all pink for the base color. It's somehow carnation pink in shade and if you can just see the frosty finish (well, I know you can't because the picture is on its low quality, sorry!) Be informed that before I painted my nails with this shade, I already applied base coat to protect my nails from polish stains and other chemicals the nail polish has. Don't forget to let it dry first before you proceed to the next step, otherwise, the tape will ruin the polish seriously and you don't want that to happen. Hoho! And when I say dry, it should totally be dry--the kind of dry wherein parts of polish will no longer be attached to the tape when removed.

First step (at least two coats)

Second is to paint your accent nail and every middle part of your nails with the Charmed shade then follow it with the It's My Mystique shade for added shimmers. You can do this by sticking tape on the upper and lower part of your nails, leaving a small rectangular shape in the middle where you will apply the glittery shade. You can use either Charmed or It's My Mystique alone, depends on your choice. But I apply both for a well pigmented and shimmery finish. Don't forget to let it dry!

*DIY TIP: To avoid ruining your polish, you can do so by sticking the tape on any surface first (e.g. skin) before putting them on your nails.

Second step

Results of the second step!

For the next step, I apply the I Pink Therefore I Am shade on the upper half of each nails except the accent nails.  Hmmm! It looks so yummy now! Hahahah! And then of course, don't forget to apply top coat for each nails to lengthen the life of your newly-painted nails or to avoid early polish chipping. Then apply the Caronia Kwik-Dry Conditioner for a smudge-free nails! Then tada! Isn't it so easy? Hoho!

Third step
Note: You can use whatever shades you want for this nail art, of course! :)

So that's my tutorial for today! Stay tuned for more easy nail arts! Happy blogging! xx

Jergens Age-Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturizer

Moisturizing lotion is always a staple in my skin care routine. Actually, I can never go outside without applying lotion, otherwise, I would feel bare and naked. This isn't weird as I've already read a lot of blog reviews about different brands of lotions/moisturizers and it seems like we're feeling the same thing. Hahah! I am used to applying lotion right after taking a bath because I don't know, it kinda makes my skin instant ready to show off and on-the-go lol.

So as not to take much of your time, here's what I've got in my mind to post a review on: Jergens Age-Defying Lotion.

As my mom always does, she bought me another brand of lotion, which was Jergens, right after I finished my second bottle of Vaseline (wasn't able to post a blog review about it though). I was kinda mad at her for buying a different brand because my skin was used to the formula of Vaseline Lotions, however, it left me no regrets at all! I've been using Jergens Products ever since I was a little kiddo and I was satisfied, though they don't have any lightening lotions in their skin care line, so that's is how I started switching to another brands.

However, this products under their name, is an amazing catch!

Jergens Age Defying Lotion, 500ml
Bought for: Around P200
Bought from: SM Supermarket

It comes in a pump bottle for an easy squeeze application and has enough information about the product.

What it claims?

Jergens Age Defying Multi-Vitamin Moisturizer combines a powerful cocktail of antioxidant vitamins and essential hydrators to help restore and rejuvenate skin that is beginning to show the signs of aging. This nutrient-rich formula immediately provides all-day moisturization leaving skin softer and smoother. With continued use, it triples skin moisture content to improve elasticity, enhance its healthy look and help slow the effects of time. Made with Vitamins A, E, C, antioxidants known to help minimize the effects of aging and to help protect, repair and nourish skin cells.

What are the ingredients? (In case you have allergies on certain ingredients)

Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, Ceteareth-20, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Dilaurate, Lecithin, Stearic Acid, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Alcohol, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance

What (my mom and) I like?

-Though it's for aging skin, I think it works just well on normal skin type. I'm in my teenage years and I don't think there is much side effects that I've noticed upon months of using the product. And we all need something to repair our damaged skin cells by the way.

-It's well, doing a good job in sealing skin's moisture.

-It contains Vitamins A, E, and C, antioxidants known to help in repairing damaged skin cells and restores the natural youthful glow of the skin

-It leaves skin feeling and looking supple, healthy, glowing, soft and smooth.

-It is mildly scented.

-It is affordable for its size.

-It is widely available in leading drugstores, supermarkets and department stores nationwide.

What (my mom and) I don't like?

-It is formulated with parabens (yikes!) though works well on preventing skin aging, has dangerous side effects on one's health.

- It leave skin feeling sticky because it's petroleum/oil-based (and I prefer those water-based lotions).

Would I recommend this?

Yeah, sure! However, I find the formula a little heavy for my liking but I think this product would be perfect for those with severe dry skin!

Kojie-San Lightening Soap Review

Who does not want to get whiter skin or at least achieve an even-tone skin--which results from too much sun exposure--here? Many of the Filipino women/ladies nowadays are looking for commercial products such as soaps to whiten their skin: soaps, that acts not just as skin lighteners, but moisturizers as well. And I am so glad to have found this: Kojie-San Lightening Soap! Thanks to my mom who bought me my very first set!

Kojie-San Skin Lightening Soap
Bought for: P72.50
Bought from: Savemore
Available on department stores, drugstore, supermarkets

Kojie-San is the most popular brand of Kojic Soaps in the Philippines (or at least that is what I know). And for me, it is the most effective kojic soap available in the Philippine market. Ugh no! Correction: it is the ONLY soap that works for me! I've tried lots of Kojic soaps ever since I became conscious of my skin tone but nothing satisfied me just like how Kojie-San does.

I always pass through shelves of this soap every time my mom and I go shopping and at first, nothing convinces me to buy one since I've tried like hundreds (OA hahah!) of lightening soaps and nothing works well. I have known Kojie-San for like...forever, but I wasn't convinced of its effectiveness even though most of my friends do...until I was able to use one myself. Currently, I've been using it for almost 5 months and there's no way I'll switch back to other brands of Kojic Soaps I've tried before. Okay, maybe I'll still road test some but I would go back to Kojie-San.

I am not saying that the other brands of lightening soap really don't work. Remember that we all have different types of skin and our skins react differently when exposed to chemicals, but for me, Kojie-San Soaps really do whiten my skin and I want to testify on its effectiveness.

WHAT I LIKE--KOJIE SAN LIGHTENING SOAPS:
  • Widely available in almost (if not all) markets nationwide with a retail price of 72.50php for every box of 3x65g lightening soaps (Note: there is a bigger package worth 120php for 3 bars and you can also avail by singles)
  • Nice citrus scent
  • Deeply whitens skin for a short period of time
  • Most of the lightening soaps results to dry skin, but I never experienced skin-drying ever since I've used Kojie-San Lightening Soap probably because it has Virgin Coconut Oil that is known to naturally moisturize the skin.
  • Not harsh on the skin unlike other Kojic Soaps which easily irritates my skin when left over a period of time

WHAT I DON'T LIKE--KOJIE SAN LIGHTENING SOAPS:
  • Melts easily
  • Guess I have no major problems at all

Kojie-San Lightening Soap does not only whiten my skin, but moisturize it as well. Be informed that while using soaps that exfoliate and prevent melanin production, it is important to wear sunblock and limit sun exposure to avoid the side effects of using those products.

Now, it's your time to share your thoughts! Happy blogging!

March and April Hauls: From Clothing to Skin Products!

Advisory (lol): It would be a long post of photos for my last two months(March&April) hauls!

Sorry for that. So yeah, I wasn't able to update my blog for some reasons. To name few, first, I was busy completing my requirements to be passed this second semester of my second year college life. Second, we went to visit our relatives in province. And third, okay, this is a lame excuse, but I have been watching a lot of movies and reading hard-bound books all for the sake of fulfilling my goal to finish everything I downloaded from utorrent. Yeah, lamest of the lamest excuse. Sorry for that.

Some of my hauls for the last two months will be posted again with reviews for the succeeding days of --hopefully--April.

So let's start! Now, for my clothing hauls:

This is a mom-daughter polo shirts from Giordano! My mom and dad were the ones who bought it. Aren't they so cute?

I bought it from ChicaBooti. I love its uneven cut hem: shorter in front and longer at the back. I also love its colorful design!

What I love about this dress is the lower bottom part which is the floral part. And I so love the touch of cerulean!

I think what pushed me to buy this is the sequins that are all over the top. It is cut unevenly as well and I love how it's colored neon.

Just wear it, and you'll probably know why I love this!

I love the animal print that was why I didn't think twice upon buying this pullover.

What can I say? The dress speaks for itself. Perfectly cut!

It's good for casual/semi-formal occasions.

Great for Summer 2015!

Here's a couple of bag, pair of sandals and a shade which my mom has given me!

Pink bag with matching wallet; both from Guess

A messenger bag from Cornell which is perfect for everyday use!

Shades from Guess. Actually, I don't usually buy sunglasses but this one inspires me! (What!?)

This pair of nude sandals from Bandolino, for me, is perfect for summer getaways (and everyday OOTD)!

Now for hair products! Actually, I've got unused bottles since it took time to finish one and my mom kept on buying and buying and buying without even finishing because according to her, "Mas mabuti na na may stock kaysa maubusan."

Garnier Shampoo and Conditioner from Garnier!

Now, let's go for my skin care hauls!

Can't wait to try this soap!
It's the Under Armed Peeling Solution from Snoe. Can't wait to try it as well!

The very famous Kojie-San! Can't wait to write a review about it!

My all-time favorite scrub from St. Ives!

Lemme show you my cologne/perfume hauls!

Lewis & Pearl is actually my favorite brand of cologne! Not just its cheap, but it has wide range of fragrances that girls out there would surely love!

Sorry it's already half-empty since I transferred some on a spray bottle.

It's 'Very Elixir' from Cosmo Designs Perfumes!

Woah! Quite a long post! Stay tune for more hauls and reviews! Happy blogging! xx

Love, Hanna
