Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388 Review

Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P1150/6g
Bought from: Sample Room

Here's a quick review on a luxury product I got from the brand Shiseido. I have this product for quite a while now but I never thought of blogging about it just now. It was a hit and miss with this product so I'm quite excited to share my thoughts with you.

CLAIMS

A touch of stain that blends instantly. A tint-type rouge with a water-based 3-layer separation technology that creates a look with a natural luster and color that appear to emanate from within. It moisturizes and softens lips while giving a long-wearing color and luster for up to 6 hours.

HOW TO USE

The diagonal tip functions as a blender for an airy, light finish. Gently tap the applicator tip on the lips, starting at the center to spread with a smear over the entire lip. When both lips are rubbed together, a natural luster emanates as the color stains the lips, prolonging wear.

PACKAGING

The overall shimmery casing is really looking grand and glamorous. It definitely looks good from a distance. I also like the slanted doe foot applicator and stuff too. The thing is, the packaging weighs so light and the casing feels cheap as it's just made of plastic coated with some sleek paint.

TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This is claimed to be as an ultra hydrating lip tint so I kind of predicted that it won't be as matte as the usual which added to my excitement. This has the consistency of a lip gloss but with an opaque color. I hate those drying lip tints that make my puckers crack, peel and bleed. True enough, this has a creamy, soft formula that glides on the lips so easily and is very hydrating. It's lightweight too, non-sticky and doesn't wear uncomfortably on the lips. On the other hand, the product does not settle completely on the lips as what I expect with lip products that has the consistency of a lip gloss. It easily transfers but you lips will still be left soft and smooth for hours.

PIGMENTATION

The pigmentation sucks, at least for this shade in RD 388. It's a muted pink in shade and is supposed to tint the lips while providing luster. As suggested, you have to stick your lips together to blend during application to prolong the wear. It does it's job in providing a pinkish glow but once you drink, lick or accidentally wipe your lips, the color comes off too. I would disagree if others say that this is long-lasting. Take a look at my swatch down below. There's barely a percent of color that's left after wiping the product ONCE with pure cotton pad.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

Just like what I've mentioned, it's a hit and miss with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge. Still, I find myself bringing it with me everywhere because it's very simple and natural-looking on the lips. I also love that it makes my lips look plumper and healthier. I have super dry lips and I badly needed a lip product that would instantly soothe and calm it while also providing a bit of color. I'd prefer it over drying tints even though the price is on the steeper side.

For a long-lasting pinkish glow, dab some tint onto your lips and top it off with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge for an enhanced glow and luster. That works best for me!

Review: Colourette Colourtints Intense Blend Lip and Cheek Oil in Bestseller Shades

Colourette Cosmetics Colourtints
Bought for: P250/each
Bought from: Colourette Cosmetics

Colourette Colourtints are well-raved by most of bloggers and vloggers I know. Just like the COLOURSNAPS DEWY MULTI-STAINS, these are usually sold out online. They said that these are type of tints that has the pigmentation of a lipstick but has the lightness of a tint which I agree on. The shade selection is gorgeous so I'll never miss the opportunity of buying some bestseller shades for the world.

CLAIMS

INGREDIENTS

PACKAGING

The tints comes with tiny colored boxes with some information about the product such as the claims, ingredients and manufacturing dates. I find them so cute and colorful that I even planned on keeping the boxes though they don't have much use.

The tints are housed in tiny glass bottles with a sleek black cap--the type of packaging you get when you buy some Maybelline nail polish. I am used to it though because I have tried typical tints before that's in this type of bottles too. There's just some pros and cons though. The overall packaging makes its so nice to be displayed on vanity area, admit it! It's very easy to use and is hygienic too. However, since it is made of glass, it definitely would break easily if the owner is quite careless.

The mouth of the bottle is also huge enough to spill the formula all over when you accidentally bang on it. The applicator is a little funny too. It's like you are applying nail polish onto your lips. It serves its purpose but it's kinda ticklish. I hope Colourette could improve on this. I'd prefer doe-foot applicators which are way more efficient.

SHADES I GOT

There are two types of Colourtints: Fresh and Matte. In six shades I got, only one is in classic fresh formula.

  • Zola (Matte) - This is one of my favorite nude shade. It has the perfect blushy nude color I'm looking for and the pigmentation is just amazing.
  • Coco (Matte) - This is blackened red in color and perfect for night outs.
  • Liv (Matte) - The pinkish nude shade is great for everyday use and can match any makeup I'm wearing. I receive compliments whenever I am wearing this shade and this has got to be one of my top picks.
  • Naomi (Matte) - It's more like midtone/salmon pink in shade, applies evenly and is also nice for an everyday look.
  • Maddie (Fresh) - This is a deeper shade of pink that works better as a cheek tint rather than a lip tint. Pigmentation for me is a bit lacking.
  • Ondrei (Matte) - This is probably the most pigmented among all shades I've got. It does not look  nice in swatches but it does wear very flattering. It compliments every skin tone and the shade is just so unique!

SCENT, TEXTURE AND CONSISTENCY

The tints smells sweet and I have nothing against it. They are kinda runny when applied and they have the tendency to stain your teeth so be mindful and check! The key is good layering. Don't apply too much on the initial coat. APPLY. LET DRY. SECOND COAT. Since the formula are all liquid-y, it would take some time for them to set so you have to bear with it. However, I like that I don't need to apply moisturizer underneath since the product itself has moisturizers (Beeswax and Argan Oil) to keep the lips hydrated. Adding more moisture will make the product harder and longer to set.

I only have one Fresh variant which is the Maddie, and from the swatches given, you can tell that it gives less pigmentation that the matte ones. It appears more like a typical tint though and fades a bit faster than the rest. Among the matte variants, Zola and Ondrei appears to have the best pigmentation as they apply more even and a single coat is all it takes and I'm good to go. By the way, for them to work, it would be best if you shake the bottles real hard before application. Since it's oil-based, there's a tendency for the oil to separate out of the mixture when left unused. So always, always shake the bottle prior to use.

LONGEVITY AND PERFORMANCE

These colourtints are definitely worth buying. I mean you can never go wrong with its price tag. It's true to its claim of being true to color, intensely blendable and pigmented like lipsticks. I just have something to say about longevity. I don't think it lasts as long as other liquid lipsticks given that I drink and eat at work. It stays pretty much about 5 hours with minimal fading but I still think it's a decent staying power. I just don't want to say it's hyper-lasting because I've tried tints before that stays longer. Also, I have to point out that these smudge so easily probably because of the oil it's made with. This is just a minor complain though. I still love Colourtints.

If you are looking for intensely blendable cheeks tints, I would highly recommend these ones from Colourette. Possible the best cheek tints out there that won't tug or leave streaky red spots on your skin. Use it with a finger or your favorite stippling brush and look gorgeously flushed all day! What's more incredible is that it's just P250 a piece and one bottle will surely last you months.

So have you tried these Colourette Colourtints? What's your favorite shade by far?

A New Tint To Love: Black Rouge Airfit Velvet in A07 (Well-Dried Fig)

Black Rouge Airfit Velvet in Shade A07 Well-Dried Fig
Bought for: Free | SRP: P810 (sale for only P490 if you buy from my shop)

I almost thought that after my Peripera addiction, there will never be another lip tint that's gonna find its way to my heart. Well, you know what, I was in every way so wrong. Charis is always just so considerate that they let us, beauty enthusiasts, discover something great from time to time. Probably one of the highlights in my beauty journey this year is the discovery of this so-called Black Rouge Airfit Velvet Tint.

PACKAGING

Packaging-wise, it does not have too much information printed which isn't bothersome for a lip tint. We all know the drill anyway. Most of the time, just the pigmentation and texture itself can already explain how it's worth your penny. I'm just glad it has the expiration date printed on the bottom for OC consumers like us. Who would like to use expired products after all?

A frosted, thick and durable plastic houses the tint. The red, holographic-detailed box and sleek blood-red cap looks so prestige without a doubt. And the lip-like applicator is of standard size, enough to apply the tint in full blast with just a few swipes.

SCENT

You're probably aware (if you have read a lot of my blogs by now) that I am bad at describing scents. If I am not mistaken, the tint smells of bubblegum which is so yummy it makes me want to lick it.

SHADE

The shade I got is in A07 (well-dried fig) which is what they claimed as the MLBB shade. I beg to disagree. It looks very good in swatches I find online though in personal, it appears more like true red with a cool undertone. I expected it to be warmer so that kinda disappoint me but it's a very minor issue I could just let pass. Here's a chart I got from Charis if you are interested in getting other shades.

One thing I noticed is that you won't get so many options as the shades look almost similar. All of them has strong touches of red. I hope there's still some transitions to pinks or peaches, other than that, I'm all good.

TEXTURE, LONGEVITY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The texture is incredibly creamy and applies very pigmented in just a swipe. The swatch below shows you how even it applies and that a little goes a long way. I have my Peripera Airy Ink Velvet to compare it with and based on the swatch provided, you can tell which one won the pigmentation category.

Black Rouge Airfit Velvet is truly lightweight on the lips. It's gives a pigmentation that a lipstick could give but with the lightness of a tint. In terms of longevity, both do so well. Black Rouge Airfit Velvet stays on my lips for about 6 hours with slight fading in between drinks.

Lower swatch: Peripera Airy Ink Velvet

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I love it and it's truly a good value for money. I also find a lot of uses for just one tube: daily gradation lip, full color point lip, and a blusher! K-beauty is so innovative--just imagine inventing makeup and skincare products that do multiple things is simply just awesome! I hope to try more from Black Rouge and if ever you are interested, you can buy this for a discounted price if you visit my Charis Shop.

Visit My Charis Shop and Get My Favorite Lip Tint For A Discounted Price

Peripera Airy Ink Velvet in #9 Legend Brown Red
Bought for: Free | SRP: Sale at P440
*Buy it for a discounted price here.

If you have been following me for quite some time both here and on IG, you'll know how I am in loved with Peripera Airy Ink Velvet. I even reviewed them here way back in May this year. They have been a holy grail for me and up until now, I keep a tint or two in my purse wherever I go.

Just because it was made available through #Charis website and I am also registered as a #CharisCeleb, I had the chance to grab another shade which I have been wanting for like forever. It was one of my first choice but then they were sold out, so I had to force myself to look at another shades, turned out they weren't disappointing at all.

Comes in the usual matte translucent bottle, it comes with a tiny doe-foot applicator which I have no problem using with. It dispenses product easily on the lips. The box contains all the necessary information such as description, direction for use, and manufacturing dates.

The texture is very light and mousse-like in consistency and is very pigmented. It spreads easily on the lips and leaves a rose petal-like smoothness. I like how little goes a long way and and even a tiny bit could already add color to dull lips.

Unlike other lip tints, these aren't too drying that my lips would chap a great deal. This can dry the lips with excessive use but nothing a good lip balm can't fix. The scent has a subtle sweet scent which I don't think anyone would find off-putting.

I personally picked this shade because from the looks of it, it's a little more neutral than the previous shades I got which are very vivid and bright. Legend Brown Red looks so nice from the applicator but doesn't look the same anymore when swatched. The brown color does not show at all. It's probably the shade of my lips but the color appears rather pinkish red.

WITHOUT - WITH

Staying power is still amazing for it's always able to withstand light drinking and eating and even lasts the whole day if I apply a bit more coats than the usual.

What I like about Peripera Airy Ink Velvet is the amzing shade range. It comes with a lot of shades in orange/peach, reds and pinks which are all wearable for about almost anytime of the day. It can also give you a whole new different look whether you are just simply running a quick errand or going out on a date.

Which shade is more like you? Me? I find it hard to choose! I'm so moody! :D If you would like to get this and more for a discounted price, just simply purchase from my Charis Shop!

Everyday Love Nude Lips Collection Review and Swatches

Everyday Love Nude Lips in #6 and #7
Price: P199 each
From: Everyday Love PH

I love local beauty brands because they remind me of how I started blogging and keep on doing what I am doing today. The very first brands whom I worked with were local brands and I owe them a lot for trusting me their products. It also amazes me how the beauty world seems to dominate social media and local brands that produces world-class products are rapidly growing. I also dream of having my own brand someday and while that still remains in construction, I will just keep on believing in the talent and tastes of Filipinas.

Today, what I will be reviewing are these nude liquid lipsticks Everyday Love PH sent me. I just love what the brand is all about--they are very particular with what they are selling and you wouldn't get confused because they are all about nudes. Their Nude Lips Collection has all the shades of nudes you can ever think of. If you love muted, MLBB shades, which I do, you'll definitely find your heaven in Everyday Love!

Claims
The Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick has a rich formula packed with waxes and oils, giving you a creamy, matte finish. It provides high pigment with an easy air-like sensation during application without drying or flaking - comfortable for an all day wear. Cruelty-free. Lead-Free. Paraben-free. Waterproof. Smudge-proof.

Shade

The Nude Lips Collection comes in 7 shades. Currently Everyday Love produces shades that are bolder with more touches of pinks and reds but are still muted. Indeed, very trendy and sophisticated.

I was sent two shades to review: No. 6 Nude Lips (a pinkish mauve) and No.7 Nude Lips (a muted rose color). I hardly can distinguish the difference in color when I don't focus or try to place them side by side because they are almost identical in every way. No.6 Nude Lips is slightly darker and warmer when swatched and is more like brownish nude. This is my idea of an awesome MLBB nude shade that won't wash out your makeup. I like that it's muted but still has a pop of color. No. 7 Nude Lips remind me of hot milk chocolate drinks which I enjoy every freakin morning more than I do with caffeine. It also looks like my favorite melted chocolate ice candies. Reminiscing about childhood days--oh how lovely! No. 7 Nude Lips is something that would look better for those who have fair skin tone.

Packaging

I haven't used a lot of liquid lipsticks from the past but I always see them in pictures. The packaging didn't give me the first impression that these are waaaaaaaaaaay so affordable. I mean I like that clear and sturdy transparent tube and the fonts that Everyday Love used. It also comes with a small doe-foot applicator which I didn't have problems on. The only issue I have was that the inner protection isn't tight enough that products could leak out up to the brim even when left unused. I don't mean to say it in general 'cause maybe I just got a bad one.

Texture, Scent and Ease of Application

These has  a soft, creamy and slightly thinner consistency that most liquid lipsticks I have tried.  It blends easily on my lips, give a decent pop of color in single swipe with the use of the applicator. It would also leave a yummy chocolate-y scent which eventually fades after some time. These lippies takes some time to fully get absorbed and smearing some lip balms under won't help either. It might be a good thing for some who have the luxury of time because you are allowed to blend it even better. You can put additional layers on top of it without having to worry that it may look to patchy. After a few minutes, everything would set and look completely matte. I have to be honest that even when dried, my lips tend to feel tacky the slightest bit (lips stick together). Nevertheless, they are so comfortable to wear. There's irony because it looks matte but does not feel matte. This may be a good selling point though because these aren't as drying as I expect it would be like most liquid lipsticks.

Longevity

It's definitely kiss-proof though I didn't test it that way. You wish! Had to settle for whatever resources I could get like the back of my hands lol. I did try smooching my lips over a smooth paper and tissue and it does smear the tiniest bit. When I tried running some water on my swatches, they didn't move at all. It did though when I rub the color off. If you are eating heavy meals, that would take the life of these lippies out of your lips but some quick sips of water won't. I don't make a big fuss out of it because after all, I would not want to murder my lips with a lot of makeup removers.

On the picture above, I didn't use any soap or cleansing oil at all--just pure tap water. Without any heavy meals, the shades could last for about 5 hours max considering you don't lick your lips often. Don't do that either because your saliva could suck out the moisture out of your puckers!

For a local product that's only P199 (currently sale at P150 a piece), these are good investments to complete your nude collections. What's even better is that these are cruelty-free, lead-free, paraben-free and is proud to be locally-made! Have you got to take a look at the ingredients list? Quite a few to judge! We all know that there's a lot of brands offering different products to us (there's even dupe to add to your options) and sometimes what makes them stand out is what their products are really made of. Being an advocate for safe makeup, I think Everyday Love is a brand to watch out for.
