Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388 Review

Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge in RD 388
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P1150/6g
Bought from: Sample Room

Here's a quick review on a luxury product I got from the brand Shiseido. I have this product for quite a while now but I never thought of blogging about it just now. It was a hit and miss with this product so I'm quite excited to share my thoughts with you.

CLAIMS

A touch of stain that blends instantly. A tint-type rouge with a water-based 3-layer separation technology that creates a look with a natural luster and color that appear to emanate from within. It moisturizes and softens lips while giving a long-wearing color and luster for up to 6 hours.

HOW TO USE

The diagonal tip functions as a blender for an airy, light finish. Gently tap the applicator tip on the lips, starting at the center to spread with a smear over the entire lip. When both lips are rubbed together, a natural luster emanates as the color stains the lips, prolonging wear.

PACKAGING

The overall shimmery casing is really looking grand and glamorous. It definitely looks good from a distance. I also like the slanted doe foot applicator and stuff too. The thing is, the packaging weighs so light and the casing feels cheap as it's just made of plastic coated with some sleek paint.

TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

This is claimed to be as an ultra hydrating lip tint so I kind of predicted that it won't be as matte as the usual which added to my excitement. This has the consistency of a lip gloss but with an opaque color. I hate those drying lip tints that make my puckers crack, peel and bleed. True enough, this has a creamy, soft formula that glides on the lips so easily and is very hydrating. It's lightweight too, non-sticky and doesn't wear uncomfortably on the lips. On the other hand, the product does not settle completely on the lips as what I expect with lip products that has the consistency of a lip gloss. It easily transfers but you lips will still be left soft and smooth for hours.

PIGMENTATION

The pigmentation sucks, at least for this shade in RD 388. It's a muted pink in shade and is supposed to tint the lips while providing luster. As suggested, you have to stick your lips together to blend during application to prolong the wear. It does it's job in providing a pinkish glow but once you drink, lick or accidentally wipe your lips, the color comes off too. I would disagree if others say that this is long-lasting. Take a look at my swatch down below. There's barely a percent of color that's left after wiping the product ONCE with pure cotton pad.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

Just like what I've mentioned, it's a hit and miss with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge. Still, I find myself bringing it with me everywhere because it's very simple and natural-looking on the lips. I also love that it makes my lips look plumper and healthier. I have super dry lips and I badly needed a lip product that would instantly soothe and calm it while also providing a bit of color. I'd prefer it over drying tints even though the price is on the steeper side.

For a long-lasting pinkish glow, dab some tint onto your lips and top it off with Shiseido Maquillage Watery Rouge for an enhanced glow and luster. That works best for me!

Simple 3-Step Lip Care Routine With Human Nature Lip Care Products

Hello, everyone! Just want to share with you, girls, my very simple lip care routine with three products I trust from Human Nature. These are the items I purchased months ago but still using up until now. My lips is far from being perfect, they are the most sensitive parts of my body, they do chap and bleed from time to time but I make sure I do these three steps whenever I have to.

FIRST, EXFOLIATE.

I know it's very likely to pick on hanging skin when our lips are chapped and dry so the least we can do is have it the healthy way. I really like Human Nature Lip Scrub in Peppermint because of its awesome moisturizing and smoothening properties. The minty sensation helps soothe broken skin and the scrubs are abrasive enough to slough away all the dead skin cells on my lips without having to cause further damage.

Alternative: Just mix a small amount of raw honey and brown sugar into paste and apply on the lips very gently. Do not overdo as it might irritate your skin rather than do something fulfilling.

SECOND, MOISTURIZE.

I never, ever skip lip balms because my lips are so dry, you can't imagine how much. The color have became uneven because of too much chapping and bleeding caused by lip products itself. This made me skeptical in trying just almost anything on my lips. And because I don't want to compromise how I look during the day, I like using tinted lip balms because it's basically moisture and color in one. If you are looking for one, try this Human Nature Tinted Lip Balm in Flame Tree. They also have flavored lip balms that aren't tinted like the peppermint variant that goes well with the scrub and is also 100% natural.

Alternative: Petroleum jellies are my favorites too!

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, TREAT.

Sometimes, your lips need treatment too just like our facial skin. While we use overnight sleeping mask, why not moisturize your lips while you sleep too? Lip care needs very low maintenance. All you need to have is a reliable product like Human Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle. It soften the skin overnight and helps improve the overall texture of the skin. It does wonders at a very low price.

Alternative: Lip sleeping masks and packs or any deep moisturizing lip balms like Burt Bee's.

And there you have it! All you need is a 3-step routine to maintain a good, less-textured canvas where you put on lipstick so smoothly. Let me know what you do to keep your lips as healthy as possible! Happy blogging!

Human Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle in Mint Review

Human Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle in Mint
Bought for: Sale at P160 | SRP: P199.75
Bought from: an online shop

I am no stranger to Human Nature as a brand that carries a lot of cult-favorite skin care items which caters to the whole family's needs. Not too long ago, they released a few products including this Sunflower Lip Miracle which comes in two variants as of today: Mint and Peach. I got myself the Mint one just because I really like products with cooling scents and I think it would best suit dry and chapped lips.

I really have sensitive lips. I can't withstand lipsticks, much less tints. I find them very discomforting on my lips to the point that it makes my puckers bleed. For years, I have been dependent to petroleum jellies just because they are the only products that soothe and heal my lips. A lot of people are asking me (even mom), why I don't wear lipsticks even though I have some and I would often say "I do, sometimes", "I'd love to" but always ends up with a "but". I also don't collect them no matter how much I looked forward to just because I wouldn't use them any way. And while I am taking care of my skin, I think it's just as proper to take good care of my lips--the reason why I bought some lip care products recently including the Human Nature Tinted Lip Balm and Scrub which I will be sharing with you on my next blogs.

Packaging

The product is housed in a tiny, squeezable tube with a very simple yet attractive designs that perfectly fits my palm and pocket. The tiny hole and curvature on it makes it easier to apply the product on the lips without having the need to touch the product. It also contains 10g of products inside. Not bad 'cause a little goes a long, long way already. I like bringing it everywhere as I can easily tuck it inside my jean's back pockets lol!

Texture & Consistency

The product comes in transparent white shade and has the consistency of a sunflower oil--lightweight and non-greasy. Unlike other lip balms or glosses, this one has a thinner texture and does not feel uncomfortable on the lips. Depends on amount, you won't even notice that you have it on, really!

Scent

Smells like menthol. Just like that. It very much reminds me of dynamite which I find really refreshing and delicious. Sometimes I am tempted to lick my lips haha!

Performance

I have been using this product for weeks now and I never fail to use it several times a day. This is what I use before going to bed as a lip treatment and as a lip balm whenever I'm off to work. Since I am in an air-conditioned room most of the time, my lips are more prone to drying so retouch is necessary. With overtime use (together with my Human Nature Peppermint Lip Scrub), I noticed that my lips has significantly turned lighter and dark spots and hyper pigmentation which are probably caused by frequent bleeding and wounds, are reduced.

The mint ingredient on this product is enough to soothe pain on the lips and oils on the product gives it some healthy sheen. It also feels nice to apply this after scrubbing away dead skin cells. One thing I noticed about this product though is that the moisture do not last very long, thus, reapplication every now and then is necessary. Also, I still need to use it along with my Vaseline Petroleum Jelly to heal my wounds faster.

Overall Thoughts

I appreciate that this product has all the goodness of Sunflower and Castor Oil, Beeswax and Vitamin E which are proven effective in doing all sorts of moisturizing and hydrating benefits for a healthy skin, still, I would say that Vaseline Petroleum Jelly works better for me. Don't get me wrong! I love Human Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle because it was able to make a significant change in terms of the appearance of my lips (hello softer and pinker lips!) but it still did not match the moisturizing factor of Petroleum Jellies. If you have less dry lips than mine, I bet you would find this product perfect, not to mention that it's quite affordable and is widely available!

Does Human Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle interest you? Care to share your thoughts down below?

BH Cosmetics 66 Color Palette Lip Gloss Review

BH Cosmetics 66 Color Palette Lip Gloss, 32g
Bought for: P490 | Original Retail Price: P700
Bought from: an online shop

Hey, everyone! I've been buying palettes the past few weeks and I just can't help it. The first was the I Heart Makeup I Heart Chocolate Palette then the Makeup Revolution Parental Advisory Palette. Since they are both eye shadow makeups, I decided to buy something for my lips as well. Would you laugh at me if I tell you that I expect a blush palette from Makeup Revolution this coming week? Ugh, they excite and break me at the same time. I can't believe I'm splurging for them right now when I don't even have the skills yet to apply on-fleek makeups.

Claims: (for mobile users) Create alluring, kissable beauty with 66 stunning colors, from delectable chocolates and high-glamor reds to flirty pinks and corals. Choose sultry shimmers or creamy mattes, it's up to you!

How to apply: (1) Prep your lips using our Eye and Lip Primer (I think it's the first shade?) to keep color from fading. (2) Using our Lip Liner Brush (which I don't have) or your finger (No! Pans are way too small), take your desired lip color and apply to lips. (3) Apply a matching lip liner or a clear gloss for a flawless finish!

Ingredients:

Packaging: When I saw in the picture that this palette has 66 lip glosses in pans, I already kept on guessing how big the palette would be in actual. To be honest, I was disappointed because I expect it to be bigger for a palette with 66 different shades of lip colors. To give you the exact dimensions, the palette is 6 by 9 inches while the size of the disks are approximately  1 1/2 cm each. The packaging is made up of a lightweight plastic material that is matte in texture and can be easily marked with fingerprints. I appreciate this because among other palettes that I have, I find this something I would want to reach out for during travel since it's light and thin so storage won't be a problem. The packaging does not look cheap at all, instead it looks like a gorgeous companion by professionals during gigs and whatnots.

This palette comes with a box and has a transparent plastic lid inside to cover the product. Unfortunately, the shades of the lip glosses are not named so probably, I really have to just number them or label them by rows or columns.

Colors: I was totally overwhelmed by the huge shade selection presented before my eyes. I have looked at them a lot of times but I can't just stop staring at those lovely assorted shades from lip colors I never thought existed, from light to bold shades. I find it hard dividing them into parts because they look so assorted like I could find wearable shades just anywhere with my not-so-preferred shades in between. I can clearly see the blue in different hues, frankly, they look cute but something I wouldn't want to wear on a daily basis. And there are my beloved reds--all creamy and pigmented. I'm not the person who prefers to wear vibrant pinks and there are A LOT of them in this palette. I think I could use them to my advantage as when I try to mix and match shades. Anyway, those pans on the bottom row is my favorite!

Consistency and Finish: As you can tell, this lip palette have lip glosses with glittery, shimmery, metallic and satin finishes. I haven't tried every shade from this palette but since they claim to be lip glosses, nothing does go beyond semi-matte. Most of the shades that are not metallic, glittery or shimmery are really creamy, opaque and has lovely color pay-offs and offers satin finishes. With the use of a lip brush, the lip glosses could be easily blended on the lips, however, you have to use a light hand when dipping the brush as the lipsticks can be too soft and squishy.

Longevity: Though these gives off a lipstick-like finishes and pigmentation, their lasting powers are not that impressive. They could stay on my lips for a maximum of 3-4 hours without drinking or eating. I like wearing the bold shades some times and they do not leave a nice stain on the lips. It saddens me but I am always cheered up by the fact that I still have more shades to play with.

Overall, this palette is a pretty good buy! It gives me the freedom to mix and match and there's available tones for everyone no matter how fair or dark you are.  Two of my favorite shades are swatched above! This palette has a good price point as well. I highly recommend you get this palette if you want to practice with lip makeups! I don't know where to purchase on actual kiosks or stores but I got mine online!

Please do let me know if you plan to purchase one, okay? Happy blogging!
