The Scent That Relieves My Headache

Zenutrients Ginger Rx Oil, 10ml
Bought from: Freebie | SRP: P140
From: Sample Room

Lately, I have been feeling nauseous, sometimes dizzy from being over-exposed to computer monitors. I have a full 8-hour shift that requires 100% screen exposure and when I go home, all I do is watch Korean dramas through my laptop or do window shopping with my smart phone. I guess the brightness just seem to trigger light sensitivity and all.

Another factor is the weather. It's rainy season so we are all prone to sickness like headaches, cough and colds. I prefer water therapy than medications and probably some troubleshooters like ointments and oils. That is why I was glad when SR included a freebie from one of my recent purchases from them. Zenutrients Ginger Rx Oil just came right on time!

Claims (as per Beautymnl)
A warm and soothing brew that effectively relieves aches and discomfort; Organic formula; infused with natural ginger extracts; promotes blood circulation; warms and soothes; can also relieve coughs and colds when rubbed on the chest; A travel-sized treatment that relieves aches and pains on-the-go.
Packaging

It comes in a roll-on type frosted glass tube that can be easily tucked inside purses when you travel. Despite its tiny figure, it's got proper labeling and information like descriptions, directions for use, ingredients, manufacturing and expiry dates are printed on a water and scratch-proof paper.

I really like the sweet, minty scent of Ginger--subtle but really soothing. My parents are users of ointments and we never really run out of those and they have really strong scents. If you prefer those, you might find the scents of this lacking or insufficient. I prefer these type because it doesn't smell too 'gagging' or strong enough for someone to catch a whiff of while I am doing some errands.

Ever since I was a child, air-conditioned vehicles made me nauseous and this is really a quick remedy in alleviating dizziness and headaches. What I do is swipe it on the corners of my nose and on my temples and apply some on my wrists too. I also have colds right now and during the nights when I find it hard to breathe, I make sure to keep this by my side. It seems to clear my pathways and help me get a good night.

When I do my next Beautymnl haul, I'll make sure to repurchase this on the site. Let me know your favorite scent! Happy blogging!

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Relief Review

Zenurients Tea Tree Scalp Relief, 50ml
Bought for: 50 points | SRP: P189
Bought from: Sample Room

Hello everyone! It's my birth month so I plan on writing as many reviews or blog posts as possible and one of my topics would be a product review--spotlight on this wonderful hair care product named Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Relief which I have been loving and using the past few days. I recently reviewed the shampoo and conditioner on their Tea Tree Line and I forgot to include this product on the post so here it comes before it's too late!

Claims

Made with Tea Tree Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, and Coconut Oil, this super cooling scalp spray relieves itch, eliminates dandruff, fights lice, and moisturizes and restores scalp health. This can be applied before or after shampooing, dependent upon personal preference, and can be used as often as you like. It is safe for children, as it has no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and artificial color.

Packaging

I don't really find the packaging very useful. It's but a mess to apply since the product tends to jet all over since it comes in a spritz bottle when in fact, the product is not at all watery. It's not as if I would spray it directly on my scalp--that might even cause the occurrence of more dandruff when the product piles up and dry. I like applying it on my palms first before I spread it on my hair. I would prefer if it comes in a pump or a tube to avoid waste. However, I appreciate the it displays all necessary information like ingredients, claims, and expiry dates.

Scent

This product smells minty and I love it for the reason that I'm a huge fan of refreshing scents for they are very soothing to the senses. Also, the pleasant smell lingers for a few more hours after application. Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Relief's scent is comparable to ointments use to alleviate pains or products with Menthol and those who find them awful would not like it. I personally love them though. Also, this product reeks strongly of mint that sometimes it makes my eyes teary.

Texture, Consistency and Ease of Application

The product comes in a pearly white liquid that is somewhat runny but not water-like. When you apply it on your hair using your hands, you will get oily residues. This is very moisturizing on the scalp and hair and a half teaspoon is sufficient enough for daily use as it soothes itchy scalp and dry hair with its cooling effect. I would suggest not to over-apply on times when you have to go and spend hours outdoor 'cause this tends to make hair greasy and oily.

Performance

I am someone who has straight hair and that means my scalp and hair tends to oil up real fast. I personally love the very cooling effect it gives and I see this as a very nice moisturizer for the hair when I'm having dry strands. It also does not cause me further hair fall. It does what it claims, to be honest. It really soothes itchy scalp, gets rid of dandruff and prevents its occurrence, but given the fact that it weighs my hair down and make it oily, I don't think I prefer to use it on a daily basis.

Overall Thoughts

This product, despite not being friendly for those with oily scalp, is really amazing, that is, if you can endure having oily-looking hair for a moment. It also has Castor Oil on it which is proven to moisturize and encourage hair growth. This product is also made up of other nutritional ingredients intended for hair use that are natural and safe to use. I personally love using it on the ends of my hair, away from scalp since it instantly revives dry and dull-looking hair and I swear to that.

This product is available at all Zenutrients kiosks! Tell me if you've tried it already and let's keep a conversation going down below! :)

Zenutrients Tea Trea Scalp Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner
SRP: P156/P249 for 100/200ml (Shampoo); P182/P260 for 100/200ml (Conditioner)
Bought from: Sampleroom

I know I've said it a hundred times here in my blog, but if I'm taking a part of me for granted, it would be my mane. I'm used to having it thick, smooth and bouncy and I think that was because I frequently refrain from using harsh treatments and tools to fancy it. However, good things must come to an end if you don't take care of what's important--the reason why I've been vigilant and cautious on whatever I apply to my hair now. Prior to using these products, I swear that I had a bad case of dandruff and hair fall which can be attributed to stress and constant change of hair care products. My hair and scalp does look and feel awful and indecent that I had to get another hair cut done at a salon nearby. When I received a notification that Sample Room's stocking up on new products from Zenutrients (which I have been loving for quite some time), I had to grab some samples to try.

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo

My hair easily oil up, which is why I believe in the theory (is it?) that those with straight hairs have oilier manes than those with curly ones. Because of this, I really need to wash my hair at least once every day, otherwise, it would look flat, limp and greasy.  There are other factors too that makes it at its oiliest state at the end of the day--hair care products, pollution, sweat. Believe me, I encounter these things everyday. At the start of your day, it makes a big difference to take a bath and wash your hair. It is as if it also cleanses your mind and soul.

The point is, it also pays a lot having a nice shampoo to effectively clean away all accumulated dirt and oil on your scalp and hair that would also prevent the buildup of dandruff. Zenutrients Tea Trea Scalp Treatment Shampoo comes in a clear, runny liquid that sometimes I over pour it onto my dipper tabo. Yes, I do the traditional in terms of applying shampoo lol. What I do is mix it with a small amount of water first and since they are both clear in color, I tend to pour either insufficient or too much.

The shampoo and conditioner has a subtle tea tree and mint scent to it. I'm pretty much aware that not everyone likes that particular scent but you'll get used to it, I swear. It's not plain Tea Tree anyway, just focus on the cooling effect of mint. And also, the scent won't linger for few moments anyway, even though you just finished your bath.

The shampoo seems to lather much as I mix it with water but it gradually disappears right after I apply it on my hair. I thought, is my hair that dirty that it won't allow the shampoo to make suds? Well, I did have the opportunity to use it while I'm on vacation (at home lol) where my hair's not really expose to pollution but it's all the same--shampoo won't lather enough. Also, it feels heavy on the hair as if I have different treatments on! It really feels unusual and at first, I want to rinse it right away and lather the commercial shampoo I'm using instead. But I endured and I'm glad I did. Yes, it feels a little weird while you are applying it, you might even think it will make your hair greasier, but surprisingly, it won't weight your locks down.

Zenutrients Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Conditioner

I am really having trouble with this packaging. I am forgiving with the shampoo as the formula's runny and it tends to slip down the narrow opening easily once you turn it upside down. But not for the conditioner which has a creamy and thick formulation that fails to dispense unless you pour so much effort tapping  and squeezing the bottle. I highly suggest that you buy the ones in bigger bottles for they come in pumps that easily dispenses the products.

The conditioner comes in pearly white shade that is really thick and creamy to the touch. Once you apply it to your hair, the texture disappears and it gives you the feeling that it is as if you are massaging your hair only with water. It does not feel very silky to the touch unlike other conditioners in the market which is but fine with me as long as it won't make my hair flat and limp. That is what I don't like with most conditioners, they over moisturize my hair that sometimes it feels a little bit greasy especially after commuting and sweating a lot. Which is also why I tend to skip this step every once in a while. The minty scent is very dominant to this product, and although it's suppose to give a cooling effect, I might say that it's barely noticeable unless you put a lot.

Overall Thoughts

I would say that I like these products especially they are both loaded with nutritional ingredients minus the harmful ones. They also effectively gets rid of itchy scalp and prevent the occurrence of dandruff. While my hair's still wet, it feels a little heavy but it eventually loses the feeling once it totally dries up. I just don't like the fact that these does not moisturize my hair enough or make it look shiny but still, it effectively keeps hair soft and smooth.

Have you tried this duo? Any thoughts? Let's talk about it down below!

Zenutrients Coco Honey Firming Mask Review

Zenutrients Coco Honey Firming Mask, 40ml
Bought from: Sample Room
Bought for: Free | Original Price: P499

ClaimsZenutrients CocoHoney Firming Mask firms and tightens tired skin. Made with two key ingredients: 1. CocoHoney, for cell repair and regeneration. It is a concentrated form of the coconut sap that comes from the flowering of the coconut plant, it contains 24 natural Amino Acids, 17 Vitamins and 14 Minerals, helping skin stay young. 2. Hyaluronic Acid, that keeps skin stable and moisturized. Helps to instantly boost skin’s ability to absorb and hold moisture for long-lasting hydration. Has no silicon, no parabens, no fragrance, and is also colorant-free. Best for dry, mature skin; but works well for tired skin needing that boost. Can be used up to 4x a week.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Coco Nectar, Panthenol, Hyaluronic Acid and Phenoxyethanol

I have always been in loved with raw coconut and honey, in fact, I store jars at home and use them for do-it-yourself projects, specifically leave-on masks. Sometimes, I mix granulated sugars on it so it could double up as scrub. It's so easy to make and to apply without spending too much. Now, having my favorite coconut-honey mask has been made more convenient to use by Zenutrients. Presenting to you the latest from their organic skin care line, Zenutrients Coco Honey Firming Mask--a mask made for the face using raw honey extracted from the coconut sap, locally sourced from Uncle Frank CocoHoney. Indeed, another innovative way to beautify one's tired and dull skin.

In terms of its packaging, it very much reminds me of Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum which is stored in a heavy glass pump bottle and sleek waterproof labels containing descriptions, instruction for use, ingredients, batch number, expiry dates, etc. During my review of their hair serum, I complained about the pump which I find hard to use especially in getting a good amount of product. But I realize it's the natural gugo fibers that block the path in which the products get dispensed on. Since this firming mask has pure liquid inside, dispensing the mask won't be a problem. However, since this is a glass bottle, it's fragile, space-consuming, heavy and not safe for travel use.

Honey, according to my research, is a good remedy for acne and pimple breakouts too due to its antibacterial properties, aside from being an anti-aging natural ingredient. It can also clarify skin complexion because of its hydrating properties and could also improve pore condition. I do not know if it differs from the honey extracted from coconut saps though. I just assumed it delivers the same effect considering the claims of this product. Meanwhile, coconut has been infused in a lot of skin care products because of its high moisturizing, anti-aging, anti-bacterial properties, etc. Phew, I doubt there's one beauty junkie who does not know anything about the skin benefits of a coconut. Having two of my favorite natural ingredients is what prolly triggered my desire in getting myself a bottle to try.

Application and Usage: I use this at night after I cleanse my face and before I apply my toner and cream. I use this twice or thrice a week, still depends if I have free time or not. I usually arrive home late so sometimes, I am just too tired to care for my skin, good thing, this product easily revitalizes my dull and tired skin. Just as suggested, I'll let the product sit on my face for a good 15-20 minutes or as long as the mask dries. Afterward, I am going to have to peel the mask from the bottom going upwards.

As you can see, the mask looks like honey, viscous and smooth in consistency. It smells like cocohoney itself--the major component of this product. I know it may sound a bit pricey for its content but a little of this goes a long way, mind you. You don't have to keep layering the mask to ensure that when you peel it up, it's not gonna break because I tried using it for only five minutes. The product, then, is not ready for peeling yet but I rinsed it anyway because I am just not in the mood for masks. If you are too lazy to wait for more minutes, wipe it with a warm washcloth. Even then, I notice a firming effect on my skin.

The best thing about this product is how it is true to its claims. It really firms and tightens my skin even during short moments of application though does not significantly reduce sebum production. After every use, I feel like my skin is so hydrated, softened and firmed. It looks fresher with better complexion too. I have been testing this 12 times already and I did not experience any adverse reaction (pain, breakouts, allergies, etc).

What more can I say? I love this product and would highly recommend it to whatever skin type you have--whether you have oily, sensitive, dry, normal or combination skin type. This product is so easy to use. I was never wrong in thinking that Zenutrients Coco Honey Firming Mask is a promising product!

Zenutrients Strawberry Lip Butter Review

Zenutrients Strawberry Lip Butter, 15g
Bought from: Zenutrients Counter
Bought for: P170

And so I heard Zenutrients revamped their packaging. Today, I am going to talk about one of their organic products, the Strawberry Lip Butter! From plastic to fragile jars? Both have pros and cons. First, I like that the new packaging does not look like it's only P170 but it's bulky and definitely, something I won't prefer bringing outside. The old one is housed in a plastic container which allows you to accidentally drop it without breaking it.

Ingredients and Expiry Dates

I think it only has a lifespan of a year. With it containing a good amount of 15g of products inside and that a little of it goes a long way already, I still think that I could finish this in less than a year especially, I am using it everyday to test if it really could solve my dry lips problem.

It directs consumers to apply it once or twice a week and rinse with water afterwards but I prefer letting it stay til all the moisture get absorbed into my lips.

As you can see, the product looks creamy red but when you try to dip your finger to swatch it, you will notice that it looks orange than red. I thought it would impart a nice subtle redness on my lips, but I got disappointed. However, it actually is a winner in the moisture department because of its high hydration content. If you are not a fan of lip care products that are glossy, do not resort to this as there are other lip balms that do not look super oily but equally moisturizing.

I already half-emptied this jar and I still have dry lips. For me, it's like typical lip balms that moisturize lips temporarily so re-application is necessary. I would not substitute my favorite Vaseline Petroleum jelly for this (because the latter's definitely a quarter only of the former's retail price and much more effective) but I would suggest it for those who wants to try a lip butter that smells yummy like Strawberry because I think it was what I paid for. Also, it is made up of organic ingredients that are safe for the body.

Have you tried this, ladies? Care to share your thoughts? Happy blogging!

Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner
Bought for: Free/100pts | Original Price: Around P200+ for 200ml containers
Bought from: Sample Room

I was looking for products to purchase on Sample Room when I found these duo for only 100 points. Since I currently am not registered as a Sample Room VIP, I had to bear with my remaining 160 points. I end up buying these together with Zenutrients Lip Butter.

We all know the traditional power of gugo which is mainly to strengthen the hair strands and make it thicker and fuller. While we could just buy the raw ones somewhere, it is really nice to have a readily available product in the market which saves us extra effort from having to boil water for the gugo bark and everything and make it lather on manes.

To be honest, I get disappointed when I received the shampoo and conditioner because their packaging looks small even though they claim to have 100ml of product inside. I can see this to last at least a couple of weeks if fortunate. I wonder if the gugo in there is part of the 100ml. But then again, I saw a light upon thinking that I could bring it to overnights (my thesis mates and I frequently do overnights anyway).

Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Shampoo

As you can see, it comes with plastic packaging with a cap that shuts tights with a click. Same container with the conditioner. It also has important information like labelings and ingredients. The only downside I find is that it is kinda hard to squeeze out the product because of the hard plastic and small opening. Also, because of the gugo inside, you may find it hard to drain the shampoo on the bark once you almost empty it. The same problem I had with the Zenutrients Gugo Serum.

The shampoo smells like their serum version, very refreshing and smells natural. It comes with a honey-like color and consistency but thinner. Unfortunately, the shampoo does not lather much on the hair so I would have to mix this to an ample amount of richly lathering shampoo we have at home. Nevertheless, the formula of this shampoo is something I find non-drying.

***
Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Conditioner

The packaging of the conditioner is very much similar to the shampoo. The product itself is white in color and smells a combination of fresh plants and eucalyptus which is really refreshing. I like that it feels so lightweight on my hair even when I don’t rinse it. Yes, for once in my life, I have found a conditioner that does not demand the rinsing part as it does not make hair greasy and limp once dried.

Using it in conjunction with the conditioner yields a really nice effect on the hair. They are both moisturizing at an average level and makes me achieve really good hair days. Seriously, I get shiny, moisturized, soft and smooth everyday while using both! Unfortunately, I do not see any difference on the severity of my hair fall. Maybe, only using it religiously for a longer period of time will make hair fall disappear. Still, they are something I would love to recommend to everyone whatever hair concern you have. It’s really affordable, effective (makes your hair better-looking), and made up of cruelty-free ingredients! What more can you ask for!

Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum Review

Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum, 40ml
Bought for: Free (only 250 points) | Original Price: P499
Bought from: Sampleroom

I'm trying my best to be as productive today as possible so after doing my thesis, I'll be blogging about another product which I got from Sample Room! Had you read my previous Sample Room-related blog posts, you will know that I love purchasing free stuff from them (shipping fee not included but all items are!) Yey! Familiar about the Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum? You can get it on Sampleroom for free! I don't understand why someone would think twice if you are about to get a steal! You will just be needing some account with 250 points and this, at your doorstep!

Claims:
Zenutrients has combined five of nature's most well-known ingredients that fight hair thinning and hair fall - Gugo, Jeju Aloe Vera, Green Tea extract, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus essential oils. Gugo has always been popular in the Philippines as a proven organic remedy for stubborn dandruff, hair thinning, and even eczema. Jeju Aloe Vera is one of the best multi-vitamins for your hair and scalp. With as much as 75 nutrients, 20 minerals, 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids and 200 active enzymes, it’s the natural cure for many skin and health problems. With healthy hair follicles, it is easier for nutrients and minerals to reach the roots to make hair long, thick and strong. Green Tea extract has catechins and polyphenol that help strengthen roots and activate hair follicles that promote hair growth and re-growth. Tea Tree oil can help get rid of bacteria and fungi. It also helps wash away dead skin cells that help unclog pores for a healthy scalp. Eucalyptus oil is nature’s cleanser. With its antifungal properties, it helps ward off infection, restrain residue build up and unclog the pores on the scalp. This power combination is made into a super serum that helps you fight hair fall and hair thinning by restoring scalp and hair strength.

How to use:

  1. Massage into the scalp and affected areas in the evening, and then wash off in the morning.
  2. Apply again to the ends of your hair after washing when hair is still damp, to prevent split ends and breakage.

Ingredients:
Purified Water, Triethanolamine, Aloe Barbadensis, Carbomer, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Green Tea oil, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Gugo Bark

I hate to repeat this but this Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum is full of active ingredients that has been traditionally known to cure hair problems like hair fall! I said this before already that I thought I was lucky to have an okay hair, meaning it does not feel dry or coarse and it can easily be tamed. On the contrary, I had this huge problem with hair fall. I have been with it since day one. Well, probably. This is why I am so scared that I would have to prematurely suffer baldness anytime. That is sooooo...off. Haha!

Uhm, who would not agree if I say that the packaging looks posh because of the heavy glass container, plastic pump and fragile cover? Aside from being not so travel-friendly, the pump is kinda hard to maneuver because every time I squeeze, the product does not come out real quick. I do not know if the problem is the dispenser itself or the gugo fibers that I presumed to be blocking the bottom of the pump. Hmmm. For display purposes, this looks really good but unfortunately, isn't travel-friendly. It's got all the information you would need as well such as the description, instruction for use, ingredients, manufacturing and expiry dates as well as proof of authenticity.

See the gugo fibers?  Actually, it makes up almost half of the content so expect only a little amount of hair serum to be consumed. Sad. And oh, by the way, have I already talked about the scent? It has that familiar Eucalyptus scent which I really love! It does not have this kind of strong scent which makes your hair smell minty all day huh. Just enough to fragrance your manes. Kilig!

This is how the product looks like when dispensed. A little runny and is translucent in shade which goes smoothly when applied on her. It does not feel anything sticky or what, just expect your hair to feel soft, smooth and healthy all day. For a P499 peso 40-ml-pump-bottle, I think this is really expensive. It does not like noticeably lessen my hair fall but applying it every day and night for weeks, I always get volumized and thicker-looking hair the next day upon waking up! Using it continuously for months, I believe would yield favorable results though.

Overall, I would say that I like this, This can be your leave-on conditioner that is light, non-sticky and made up of natural ingredients so no harm has to get done. However, I would be hesitant spending that huge amount for a next bottle so...I think I am up to the journey of finding a cheaper alternative. Who's with me? 'Til my next post! Happy blogging!
