Cetaphil Daily Exfoliating Face Cleanser For All Skin Types Review

Hey, it's me again! I'm bored so here I am lol. Today, I will be doing another review about a skincare product from one of the brands I truly trust: Cetaphil. This is the first time I've tried Cetaphil Daily Exfoliating Cleanser (₱‌521/178ml) and I've stumbled upon it when I was browsing through their official shop online.

This isn't exactly like the newest from Cetaphil, but I don't think people are talking about it as much as with the Gentle Skin Cleanser one. That's basically the reason why I decided to try it out in the first place. And you know that each time I try something new, whether it's a pleasant experience or not, I'm just happy to share my thoughts with everyone.

This product right here is infused with skin conditioners and vitamins that gently cleanses and combats dirt, oil, and impurities with the exfoliating micro-fine beads. It promotes a faster skin cell turnover, buffing away dullness and dryness while leaving the skin soft, smooth, and radiant after every wash.

Cetaphil Daily Exfoliating Cleanser claims to be a non-irritating, hypoallergenic and is a gentle facial wash that is suitable for all skin types and is safe for everyday use.

Claims

The ingredient list is a bit long with tons of tongue-twister words for me (LOL!). I've noticed a few ingredients which always work great for my skin type such as Glycerin, Panthenol and Vitamin E. There's something that sounds herbal (and alien) to me such as the Bambusa Arundinacea, which I found out later on as the scientific name of Bamboo Extract.

Google says that it is a great natural moisturiser which soothes and smoothes skin while helping it hydrate. It supports and assists the healing of skin and has antibacterial properties to cleanse, purify and detoxify. Forgive me if I have to google them, for I am not very good with ingredients. Hahaha!

Ingredients

The product has a minimalist design just like most Cetaphil products. The only thing I dislike about the packaging is that it comes in this tube type bottle, which I think isn't the best option given that the formula is a bit runny. Sometimes when I open it in haste, the product slid down the opening and spilled. I think a pump would be better.

Manufacturing and Expiration Dates

The formula has thin, gel-type consistency. It's close to clear in opacity, only with very tiny microbeads you'll barely see unless you look closely. I don't know why but the scent reminds me of Lactacyd Baby Bath I've used before when I had skin rashes. It's possible that my mind is playing tricks on me right now, but I really think that they smell so similar.

This cleanser doesn't create a foamy lather which I don't mind. I am used to cleansers that doesn't lather much and I like them better because they don't feel drying at all. I like using it together with the Gentle Skin Cleanser as my primary cleanser then follow it up with the exfoliating one. I don't know if anyone else do this, but I like using both because I felt like my skin is not just cleaner, but also softer.

First thing I noticed when I tried Cetaphil Daily Exfoliating Cleanser for the first time, was the burning sensation on my skin. It was intense and after only a few seconds, I had to wash it off already. It felt like I applied Maxipeel while my skin is already peeling (LOL!). But maybe that was my skin in the process of getting used to the product - which actually turned out to be true. The next few uses felt better. I have been using this product for about a month now (only once a day) and every time I use this cleanser, I still feel some warmness on my skin but it became much more tolerable.

The microbeads on it are non-abrasive - you'll barely feel them, to be honest. Cleanser rinses easily without leaving any residue. I also like how it soften and smoothen my skin every wash. It's an exfoliating cleanser, but it's surprisingly non-drying.

For only ₱‌521, you get a good amount of product that will last for a while. I recommend this product if you are looking for a substitute cleanser that will gently remove oil and dirt from your skin, as well as scrub away dead skin cells for that clearer-looking complexion.

Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightness Reveal Creamy Cleanser Review

So I am doing yet another review of a product I have used some time from last year to February of this year. This review is long overdue since I stopped blogging for a while and so there might be more of these coming soon. I think that my experience while using them would be a waste if I don't share it.

I actually emptied two bottles of Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightness Reveal Creamy Cleanser before I went back to my old Cetaphil Gentle Clean Cleanser. I wanted to keep using the former but the latter went on sale so then plans changed and that's what I repurchased. Talk about a silly excuse, right? I am on a budget so I gotta keep being practical. LOL.

PRODUCT INFORMATION, CLAIMS, DIRECTIONS FOR USE, INGREDIENTS

The cleanser we have right here is part of Cetaphil's Bright Healthy Radiance skincare line. Apart from this, I have also tried the body wash, day cream and night cream which is a cult-favorite. I emptied three jars of the night cream as that was a favorite of mine too. I didn't like the day cream though because the formula is too thick and heavy for my liking. It's unfortunate because I wasn't able to keep photos of them. I didn't know that I would be writing again. I might repurchase next time for blog purposes but for the meantime, I'm happy with the products I substituted them with.

Product is sealed with an aluminum foil. I didn't really like the cap very much because it tends to get loose and wouldn't close. I probably have gotten a defective container but whatever lol. Design looks clean and simple, nothing special. I like that it comes in a squeeze-type tube container so product is pretty easy to dispense.

I really love the formula. It lives up to its name because it has an opaque white color and has a very creamy consistency. I am not very particular with product scents, but this one barely has any fragrance to it which I prefer. Also, a little of it goes a long way. I think half a pea-size is enough for my whole face and neck. It suds to a creamy lather and is easy to rinse without leaving any residue.

This is a cleanser that isn't over-drying and is hypoallergenic so it's suitable for all skin types. It also feels nice to apply in circular motions because of the creamy suds. The "comforting cocooning lather" is true. I like how gentle it feels on my skin and doesn't aggravate breakouts. For a brightening cleanser, this is surprisingly non-drying. My skin indeed looks clearer and more radiant after every use. It's great in removing light, non-waterproof makeups and other impurities too.

Priced at only 462php for a 100g tube, I think that this is a great value for money from a trusted skincare brand. It's worth a repurchase, if you are looking for an affordable cleanser that does more than just the usual cleansing.

Laneige Cleansing Moist Cream Cleanser Review

Laneige Cleansing Moist Cream Cleanser
Bought for: P1,050
Bought from: Althea Korea

How's your day going? Me? I'm still bored to death. I just finished watching episode 10 of Hi, Bye Mama and yup, out of boredom, I even watched Tad, The Lost Explorer lmao. Anway, today, we'll talk about the Laneige Cleansing Moist Cream Cleanser I got from Althea a few months ago.

To be honest, the first time I knew about this cleanser, I didn't expect a lot nor was too ecstatic about it. I just have a great track record with Laneige products and it feels like I will have myself drawn closer to the brand if I get myself familiar with more of their skincare lines. So randomly picking up a Laneige cleanser during a haul way back, I got myself a tube of this cute little guy. Little did I know, it became a favorite of mine for the fact that it cleanses without drying. Anyway, let's know more about this product!

CLAIMS

Facial cleansers can make those of us with dry skin cringe just at the thought of stripping away any oil we have left! Luckily for us, Laneige's Moist Cream Cleanser is here to SOS (save our skins!). Formulated with 14.9% natural oils, this cleanser not only removes dirt, but also replenishes moisture to your complexion and keep it there for a long time. It lathers up into fine bubbles that leave the skin feeling silky smooth after washing without any tightness, prepping your complexion to take on any skincare products after.

- A moisturizing, creamy face cleanser
- Contains natural oils to ensure skin is left moisturized
- Skin feels clean but not tight

INGREDIENTS

Purified Water, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Myristic Acid, Lauryl Hydroxysultaine, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Stearic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Perfumery, Linalool, Polyquaternium-7, Citronellol, PEG-14M, Disodium EDTA, Hexyl Cinnamal, Geraniol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol, Silica, BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene)

KEY INGREDIENTS

It has Meadowfoam Seed Oil that moisturizes and creates a protective barrier over the skin to prevent dehydration, Glycerin that deeply moisturizes the skin and prevents dehydration and Sunflower Seed Oil that has skin protecting and anti-inflammatory properties.

PACKAGING

I totally forgot whether or not this came in a box but it doesn't matter I guess. It probably is because it comes with a leaflet, otherwise just where did I pick it up lol. I must've thrown it during cleaning. The salmon pink color looks too cute for me because I'm all about that shade. I like that it comes in a tube so it's both hygienic and convenient to use. It displays the expiration date though it doesn't say much about the product itself. Technically, it does...but I just don't read Korean so (haha).

SCENT, TEXTURE AND CONSISTENCY

This has a very subtle floral scent which I really like and it's not in any way off-putting. It has a light, bouncy texture and a little goes a long way. This cleanser foams well but the bubbles created are cloud-like. A small amount cleanses the entire skin evenly without stripping off the skin's natural moisture.

PERFORMANCE

I am honestly liking Laneige Cleansing Moist Cream Cleanser. I was actually expecting that it will be moisturizing but not at all effective in cleaning but I was wrong. It does both and I can't figure out how. It must be because a huge fraction of it are oils that suck out skin's excess dirt and oils and promotes skin balance. Whatever the case is, I am happy because I have found a cleanser that I can use daily without the fear of after-wash tightness. My skin feels thoroughly cleansed and bright after using this.

I would like to add that I was using this when I was chemically exfoliating with Maxipeel Exfoliant #3 and the combination is really great. My skin doesn't feel any stinging sensation or when it does (only during peeling), it's very tolerable unlike when I was using other foam cleansers where my skin would go red and sore.

I would repurchase this cleanser some day in the future but right now, I still enjoy chasing other good stuff out there. If you are a fan of Laneige and is looking for a gentle, moisturizing cleanser without looking at your budget, go and get this. I truly recommend this cleanser whether you have dry or oily skin to prevent skin irritation due to dryness. I have been using this cleanser for more or less 3 months now so it's safe to say that it's indeed a great value for money.

3-Step Skincare Routine With Althea Korea Bare Essentials

Althea Korea Bare Essentials
Bought for: P1,960/set
Bought from: Althea Korea

The ones we'll be talking about today aren't exactly new products in the market. A lot of you might have heard of them and I'm pretty sure about that, but for those who are curious and haven't tried them yet, this post is for you. I'm going to share my honest-to-goodness review about this exclusive product line of Althea Korea, Bare Essentials, which comprises and promotes three basic skincare steps - cleanse, tone and moisturize.

CONTOUR CLEANSER 150G (P450 P300)

Step 1 is the Contour Cleanser, a rich and foaming cleanser that removes impurities while improving blood circulation for that V-shaped look. It contains micro capsules to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and leaves the skin feeling cool and refreshed too! Use together with the Primer Water and Fixer Cream for best results!

It has Ice Plant that hydrates and calms redness and Lemon Verbena Leaf that is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants to strengthen the skin.

This is a creamy foam cleanser that is housed in a very simple yet hygienic tube packaging. It's opaque white in color and has micro capsules that gently scrub away dead skin cells. They melt onto the skin eventually, giving a slightly cooling sensation. It has a purpose too and that is to lessen the swelling of the face, thus the name. As you use this regularly, the cooling sensation becomes less and less noticeable. This cleanser is really effective in removing dirt and oil on the skin, revealing a squeaky clean layer. This is a bit drying, in my opinion, so the next steps (which are toning and moisturizing) are quite necessary!

I am not very fond of foam cleansers and you probably guessed it by now if you are a regular here but this cleanser is tolerable especially when used in conjunction with the primer water and fixer cream. I like that it doesn't sting and is not heavily-fragranced. A little of it (pea-sized) is enough to cleanse the face and neck area so one tube will really last you a very long time.

PRIMER WATER 150G (P710 P550)

Step 2 is the Primer Water. Smooth, hydrating and ever so slightly balm-like, this bottle of wonder penetrates into the layers of the skin to plump them up, prepping the skin and making it a smooth canvas for products to come. Use together with the Contour Cleanser and Fixer Cream for best results!

This product has Snow Lotus that smoothens and brightens the skin while evening out its texture and patented "dewdrop" formulation that revitalizes the skin and provides immediate, effective moisture.

Isn't this product looking so cool in that minimal frosted plastic bottle and a silver cap? This primer is so good! The first time I look at it, I thought it's something I wouldn't like and would probably just throw out because the consistency is thicker than normal water toners. Most toners that has the same balmy texture are indeed balmy/greasy when applied. I am not very fond of these type of toners so when I first used this product, I was so ashamed of myself because I was wrong! In fact, this is unbelievably lightweight on the skin and doesn't leave a sticky residue, only plump, hydrated and healthy-looking layer.

I am also happy to tell you that this is quick-drying so you don't have to fan your face or wait for minutes to take on another step. Using this regularly, I felt like my skin has become more balanced and tightness and sensitivity were lessened. It's quite something at P550. I ran through it faster than the cleanser and moisturizer just because it's a favorite!

This product has 200ml of product which is a pretty decent amount for a toner. You can soak a cotton pad with this and slightly brush on the skin to remove debris and excess dirt.

FIXER CREAM 50G (P800 P640)

Step 3 is the Fixer Cream. powerful moisturizing properties are packed into this little jar that provides the skin with hydration for up to 24 hours for a fresh, revitalized complexion. Use together with the Contour Cleanser and Primer Water for best results!

It has Trehalose which is a powerful humectant that retains moisture on the skin and Wild Green Tea that is hydrating, skin soothing and pack with antioxidants. It also has Baobab Tree Extract which is non-greasy moisturizing agent that helps promote collagen production.

Now onto the last and final step, Fixer Cream. It comes in a frosted plastic bottle that has very aminimal design just like the cleanser and toner. Even the step is minimal and that's what I probably like about this set. This product has an inner seal and I forgot if it comes with a spatula and if ever it does, I might have accidentally throw it out. Again I'm not a fan of this type of packaging that involves the use of fingers but whatever - it is what it is. Just make sure to always use clean hands when you're doing your skincare.

The product is opaque white and it has a creamy and consistent formulation. There's something about the texture that feels like a luxury to apply onto the skin. At first I thought it will be uncomfortable but again, this was made to be used for any skin types. It's very moisturizing but is non-sticky and it's true that it can moisturize the skin for a long time. I don't think the moisture is enough for those with drier skin types though.

This product leaves the skin with a slightly dewy finish but it's not bothering me at all. I also like that I can put on anything on top without disturbing the makeup or moving them. Using this cream together with the primer and cleanser, my skin has improved a lot in terms of its overall complexion.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

I am definitely obsessed with this set! My skin isn't doing well for the past few months and the products I've been using before that used to be working surprisingly disappointed me so I switched to using Bare Essentials instead. I am still getting tiny breakouts because it's that time of the month again but my skin is overall looking]smooth, glowing and improving!

These products are currently on sale at ph.althea.kr so be sure to cart when you can!

Beauty Blender Liquid Blender Cleanser Review

Beauty Blender Liquid Blender Cleanser
Price: P890/150ml

I have so much brushes to use and one of the few struggles I encounter is cleaning them. Makeups are stains that get stuck in the bristles and regular shampoos and soaps won’t do. Just like our manes, they need to be taken care of so as bacteria and viruses will not grow. Remember, you get physical contact with brushes and it’s gross just thinking of bacteria-induced brushes getting to your pores. Therefore, I am also in the lookout in finding good makeup brush cleansers that will disinfect and remove every bit of makeup that’s trapped in between bristles and would also retain the shape they that used to have.

This is a cleanser that comes in a set and which I got from Zalora during a sale back early this year. Aside from makeup brushes, I love collecting beauty sponges as well so I was really glad that the value set has a cleanser to use for my tools. It comes in a chubby plastic bottle and an opaque white plastic cap wherein you gotta push one side to open. I think it’s just very useful and hygienic at the same time.

The liquid is amber-colored, smells so clean and subtle and what I really love is that you don’t have to use too much to create a very rich lather. Just a teeny tiny bit is enough per brush head. It only matters I guess depends on how dirty your brushes are. With this Beauty Blender Liquid Blender Cleanser, brush cleansing is so convenient to do. No more of those old cleansing methods that almost broke you a sweat. This melts makeup in a flash and removes every bit of stain – whether old or new – with ease. In fact, it was able to remove old stains that my previous cleanser missed. This is, by far, the best I’ve tried for both brush and sponge cleansing. Also, it’s easy to rinse without leaving soapy, slimy residue on the bristles.

If you purchase it in regular price, this may cost you more or less $18 or a little less than P1000. I suggest you buy it in value sets and if you can, wait for sale season so you can save more. I highly recommend this product as it’s a great value for money. That’s pretty much it! Happy blogging!

Laneige White Dew Milky Cleanser Review

Laneige White Dew Milky Cleanser
Bought for: P1094 (150ml)
Bought from: Althea Korea

In my last Althea Korea haul, I featured several Laneige products just because they are simply awesome. Believe me, in my next shopping trip to the website, I'll make sure to include another Laneige product. Anyway, here's a quick review on this White Dew Milky Cleanser which is part of Laneige White Dew Range.

CLAIMS

Looking for bright, glowy skin? Laneige's White Dew range contains Saururus Chinensis extract that works effectively to lighten dark spots and even out skin coloration. It's also formulated with the glycol component of Phyto sugar water that moisturizes and brightens the skin. The milky cleanser is a creamy formula that lathers up well, ridding the skin of dirt, impurities and leftover makeup residue, leaving it feeling supple, looking bright and feeling great. With continuous use, you'll be left with a complexion that's supple and radiant, and who doesn't want that?

HOW TO USE

Dampen the skin, then squeeze out a pea sized amount and lather up with hands, before massaging onto the skin in circular motions. Rinse off with water after and pat skin dry.

PACKAGING

Product comes in an easy-squeeze tube container which is very convenient and easy to use. I use to like this type of packaging because I can bring it anywhere without the fear of spilling and breaking due to mishandling. Also, I appreciate that it comes with a cardboard box and a leaflet where I can additional knowledge about the product claims and benefits, as well as the potent ingredients it has. For hygiene purposes, the  area where you dispense the cleanser is sealed with an aluminum foil.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

It has a very subtle scent. Scent is my weakness as you all know if you have been reading this blog for quite a while. I couldn't exactly tell where the scent is comparable to but I'd say that it smells clean and fresh. It's not strongly fragranced which is good as fragrance might be a contributor to clogged pores and breakouts.

The cleanser has a solid white color and it resembles Elmer's glue just without the thick, sticky texture. I think the right term is that it's very milky and it feels great on the skin. It's formulated to lather richly so at first, I was nervous as my skin isn't always compatible with foamy formulas. I'm glad that it's very gentle on the skin and doesn't feel too tightening unlike other foam cleansers I've tried before. Despite that, it could still be ever so slightly drying. It's a good thing that all other skincare under the White Dew range are all moisturizing so the taut feeling can be remedied easily. The cleanser is very easy to rinse  and doesn't leave any slimy residue.

PERFORMANCE

Laneige White Dew Milky Cleanser is infused with three star ingredients which are Trehalose (a moisturizing agent that binds water to the skin, preventing evaporation to keep it hydrated for longer), Saururus Chinensis Extract (effectively brightens the skin and reduces dark spots) and Phyto Sugar Water (moisturizes the skin and brightens it for a radiant complexion).

Using it regularly for a little over a month, I feel like my skin is cleansed from deep within every after use. There's a slight brightening effect but I think that's because I am using it with other skincare products I found suitable for my skin. Still, this could've played a huge part too considering I use it more than I do with other skincare products I have. Why? Well, let's say I use this product more than twice a day: morning after waking up, evening after I first-cleanse and sleep and in between chores when I feel like doing it. Hello? Summer!

I wouldn't say this turned out to be a holy grail Laneige product but because it does what it's supposed to do, I would still recommend it to everyone whatever your skin type is. Using it in conjunction with my other trusted beauty products, my skin is now starting to clear up again. Blemishes are lightening and my skin is more balanced. It's very gentle too and definitely non-sting. If you are looking for a maintenance cleanser, better buy it. It may be a little steep compared to other cleansers but is actually very economical to use. A little goes a long, long way!
