I have this habit of bringing tubs of moisturizers anywhere I go because I always get dry, wrinkly skin no matter the weather is. My facial skin is oily, but the rest are taut and dry. I sometimes think it’s because I’m not getting any younger, so my skin starts losing the moisture and glow it once has. To cut this long story short though, I discovered another moisturizer that I can store at work to slather on every time I feel the need to. It’s the Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Cream. I am sure you are all familiar with the famous Nivea Crème that you probably repurchased so many times, but are they different? How so? Please keep on reading!

CLAIMS

All over body moisturizing cream with lighter formulation cools refreshes soothes the skin.

PACKAGING

It comes in a white plastic tub that’s quite bulky and that means that it’s not very convenient to bring to travels. It would be nice if you have a small container to decant some into. It also has an inner seal for extra protection. Since you have to dip your fingers every application, make sure your hands are clean to avoid contamination.

 

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

It has a clean, subtle scent that is not off-putting. The cream is opaque white in color and has a soft texture, hence the name. The consistency is quite thick so it’s indeed perfect for those who have very dry skin as a relief. Because of the thick formulation, it takes some time to dry and is a little greasy at first but once fully absorbed, skin is left moisturized and soft. I don’t really like greasy stuff for the face, but I don’t mind the ones intended for the body. In fact, I prefer those so my skin would look glowing and supple. This is to avoid premature aging too. Remember, the key to youthful skin is moisture!

PERFORMANCE

Since this has a thicker consistency than body lotions, I prefer using it as a hand and foot cream and it does the job in keeping them moisturized and hydrated all day. Reapplication is necessary especially if you wet or wash your hands which I don’t mind because it provides instant relief to dry, itchy skin. This is thinner and lightr than Nivea Crème if you are asking, so if you prefer Nivea Crème but is looking for something that has a thinner consistency, take this! It’s around the same price and will last you a long time too!

Finally! I know Charis will come up with their very own product but I did not expect it to be this soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one who kept on guessing what their first product would be but I was so happy that it's a multi-functional cream. I haven't tried a lot of Cica Creams before, in fact I think I only had one apart from this and that was the very popular Centellian 24 Madeca Derma Cream which was a so-so. When I received these in the mail, I eventually tried it and now that I think I had enough time of road-testing, I'm going to share with you how it works for me. CLAIMS

Charis M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream claims to be a multi high tech solution for sensitized skin and works to clarify, lift, relax and moisten the skin. It contains Madecassoside and Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract providing delicate hydration and moisturization effects to the sensitive skin damaged from external stimulation. 

INGREDIENTS

There are tons of ingredients found in this product and mostly are extracts from plants and herbs. About 58% are composed of Tiger Leaf Extract or also known as Centella Asiatica so if you don't have any problems with that, this may be safe for you. I haven't had any problems with this ingredient before so I'm not very cautious when I tried this. It's claimed as a cream for all skin types but better be safe. If you are sensitive to any extracts listed down below, I highly suggest to do a patch test first as we never know the exact concentration and how your skin will react towards it.

PACKAGING

I was given both the 30 and the 50 ml tubes but they are housed in the same packaging. It comes with a teal and white cardboard box that has all the information you will ever need about the product including the claims, directions for use, ingredient and expiry date (one year after opening).

The product itself is contained in an aluminum tube that looks very clinical and hygienic. I imagine putting on some ointment as I use it. It's lightweight and travel-friendly though just like what you expect, it's kinda hard to scrape the very last drops. I cut my skin about twice while I was trying to do that. It's nothing serious though.

The mouth is sealed with an aluminum upon purchase for sanitary purposes and I like that it's easy to control the amount to use. I would appreciate if it comes with a pointed nozzle though.

APPLICATION

I use this product twice every day. First thing in the morning after toner and before sunscreen and at the last step of my night time skincare. I only use half a pea-sized amount since a little goes a long way. I make sure to apply more on the drier areas such as around the eyes and neck. It's also a great soothing cream to apply anywhere your body after you wax or do either chemical or physical exfoliation to calm redness and irritation.

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The cream has a little bit of an herbal scent, almost to the point that it's indistinguishable. The product has an opaque white color and has a very rich and creamy texture. It has a consistent formulation and true enough, it gets absorbed by the skin easily without any stickiness. The good thing about it is that you can layer it with makeups though your base might move around and cake on the latter part of the day. This cream warms my skin and my face is oilier during midday whenever I have this on. And when there's oil, you know what happens to your base. You will also wake up with a face looking like a grease ball. It must be the summer but I think this cream is the culprit as I'm not as oily when it's just my regular toner and cream.

PERFORMANCE

Despite the fact that it makes my skin so oily, it doesn't clog my pores or causes breakouts. Because of the rich texture, it's able to soften the skin, lessen redness overtime and make it look healthier and plumper. It's best to use during night time when your skin is healing and you'll wake up with smoother and clearer skin. Since it's formulated to be highly moisturizing, this will be more suitable for those with dry skin and as a cream to moisturize the areas where frequent loss of moisture occur--eyes and neck. Remember what beauty gurus say, the more your skin is moisturized, the longer it will take to age. Do keep that in mind.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that it works as a hand and foot cream too! It's able to soften calluses on the soles and palms and moisture stays longer. It might be on the steeper side of skin care but do take note that a little goes a long way so it's still worth the repurchase.

Last month, I dropped by the Watsons near our office to snag some essentials I just ran out of. Since moisturizer is always a necessity for my super dry hands. I decided to pick up a hand cream I haven't tried yet. The Watsons I went to wasn't big enough to carry lots of brands so there was like only a few lotions to choose from. Most of them were even body lotions and if I am not mistaken, Naturals By Watsons Argan Revitalizing Hand Cream is the only one in the hand cream section apart from its other limited variants. I think it was Collagen, Paw Paw or something. Don't hold it against me if I'm wrong, just guessing!

Claims

Naturals By Watsons Argan Revitalising Hand Cream has a rich formula that intensively moisturises yet gently nourishes your skin. Organic Argan Oil nourishes and protects skin with Vitamin E and essential fatty acids and boosts the skin's moisture. It contains Organic Germ Wheat Extract (antioxidants and anti-aging), Organic Avocado Oil (moisturizes and nourishes the skin), Vitamin B3 (protects again UV damage and improves elasticity). Free from Paraben, Mineral Oil, Silicones, Colorants and Isothiazolinone.

Packaging

Product is housed conveniently in a tube that easily dispenses cream. I kind of don't like the twist cap for I tend to always carelessly drop it. The container has a matte feel to it and the brown with notes of herbs and plants make it appealing and promising to the eyes. Just how would you feel about putting the finest organic ingredients on your delicate skin, right? You will see tons of information as well at the back so the whole designs makes it attractive to those who love to read and as curious as a cat.

Texture, Scent and Ease of Application

The cream comes in white, creamy formula that feels lightweight once absorbed. It instantly hydrates and soften the skin while giving you a clean, soapy scent that wears about all day. What I find disappointing though is that the moisture does not last long when you are in an air-conditioned place. Unless you can afford to constantly reapply, this would be a problem. If you just needed a boost of moisture even in a tropical country like Philippines, this product can pass as it won't give you that heavy, greasy moisture. As for my personal preference, the best hand cream for me would be as thick as Nivea Creme. That's the kind of texture that would last throughout cold temperature.

Overall Thoughts

Naturals By Watsons Argan Revitalising Hand Cream is just one of the products in Watsons' Naturals skin care line. Although I wasn't really satisfied with the level of hydration it gives, I'm willing to give the other variants a try. It's refreshing to know that Watsons is also putting its best effort in providing us quality products that are infused with organic ingredients without the pricey tags. What else is there to say...ahhh! Did I mention that the packaging are instagram-able!? They are just lovely, agree?

My Take On The Hydrating Personal Care Creamy Petroleum Jelly

My mom once said that we have the same shape of hands, hence the same texture: dry. So when she went to the Cash N Carry near her working place, she bought herself a hand cream which I liked. The key word is liked. Whoops! It instantly has become my holy grail! So guess what? She let me have it, saying that she will just buy one for herself again. For that, thanks mother!

 

Personal Care Cream Petroleum Jelly (128g) 

I really love the packaging. I mean I love products that are in squeezable tubes like this because it makes dispensing easy-breezy. Plus, you can always control the amount that you want to use, depends on how moisturized you want your skin to be.

The tube has lots of products on it (128g) and given the fact that I only apply it on my palms and soles (the driest part of my body), this would surely last me for months. I also think it’s travel-friendly, one which you can bring anywhere. In fact, I bring it wherever I go since I love washing my hands every so often (which is a habit of mine) and apply the cream afterwards.

I have been an avid user of petroleum jellies ever since when talking about moisturizing factor, so this product got me eyeing on it. Infused with Vitamin E, this would surely keep every skin healthy, soft and smooth.

It has not been indicated whether it should be used specifically on any part of the body so I believe it is really ideal for the body. However, let’s exclude the face as the product is really thick and when I say thick, I really think that it’s extremely thick for face use.

It has a light feathery whipped texture that dries fast when applied on the skin and would somehow leave it feeling greasy which I personally prefer for my hands.

The formula is really creamy that a small amount would go a long way, a pea-sized amount already is sufficient for both my hands and feet.

It smells nice too. It won’t bother whether you are very particular with the scents of products or not.

All in all, this is a great product! I usually use oil to moisturize my hands and feet but I find this one doing a better job, so I give it a perfect five! You can but it on Cash N Carry stores at around PHP200-PHP250. Or you can order online in Lazada! Until next! Happy blogging!

Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream Review

I am an unica hija (only girl child) in the family. If you think I am living like a princess, hell, you are definitely mistaken because I am always asked to clean the house. I also do a bit of laundry, wash the dishes, though it's my older brother's task. And because of stress factors and so much chores every day, I felt like my hands became dry and rough, so I tried to look for products that will suffice the needed nutrients for my hands to go back to its normal smoothness.

I think I'm am getting less and less hopeful until I found this product! As my friends and I went to Watsons last month, I found this secret treasure I've been looking for all my life LOL. So yeah, it's been months and months of trying new hand products for my tired and almost lifeless hands until I get to try this lotion from Beauty Formulas!

So today I am going to review this Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream.

What it claims: Beauty Formulas Regenerating Hand Cream helps to restore and improve the condition of your hands and nails by working  through the night. A rich non-greasy cream formulation which is rapidly absorbed into the skin with added benefits of micro pearls containing Vitamin E and A to moisturize hands and nails. Leave skin soft, smooth, and supple!

One thing I love about it is the color of the packaging. It's in deep purple and I love purple! It's also very convenient to use since it comes in a squeeze-type tube packaging.

The color of the lotion is opaque white with microbeads. You can tell that there isn't a lot of these though. I think if I open the tube, I will be able to count all the beads inside. Kidding.

I guess the formula is best for those who loves nail polish like me since they could make the nails dry and dull. For only PHP124 per tube, the price is way cheaper than other hand lotions, considering the amount you'd get.

The formula is very thick and moisturizing. You can already see the effect the first time you apply. Its moisture lasts for a while too. That makes it worth every penny.

What I love most when applying the lotion into my hands is the time when I get to watch the beads dissolve and blend into the formula. And the best thing is felt the next morning! You'll definitely notice that your hands become softer and smoother. It surely lives up to its name Overnight Beauty Care For Hands!
