Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation in Golden Beige Review + Swatches

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation
Bought for: P259 | SRP:  P400+
Bought from: a trusted online shop

Here's a review on a drugstore foundation which I've never thought I'd really like--the Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation. To be honest, I wasn't really stocked to try it out when I bought this way back in October. I, in fact, just bought it out of curiosity and c'mon it's on sale! Sure, the packaging was really lovely and looks so classy with the glass bottle and a sleek black cap that shuts tight. Even with all these, added with positive feedbacks from my IG friends, I was hesitant to use it, probably because the first Wet N Wild product I have tried didn't work for me. But yeah, things surely get better in time and here's what I think about this foundation!

Here's what this product claims. I don't pretend I know much about the technology behind this foundation but I find its claims too good to be true yet very unique. Imagine what the chemists have been through to produce a foundation that would make our skin flawless in photos!
Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.

-High-performing, breakthrough formula
-Featuring light-adjusting complex to help prevent white cast in photos
-Tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash

The product has that spatula applicator and I remember the very first foundations I had from San San. It's easy to scoop out products with this but I still prefer those that comes with pump as it's ore hygienic and easier to use.

The scent is quite chemically that you might find it off-putting but I would let it pass. The foundation is quite thin in texture but not thin enough to drip or run. This kind of consistency makes me think that this foundation is lightweight and would dry matte which is quite the case. Golden Beige is quite peachy and dark on me so once it oxidizes, my face look really darker than the rest of my body. I'm giving myself a heads up to purchase a lighter shade the next time, maybe the Soft Beige perhaps. That's the one I'm supposed to get, had it not been sold out.

I didn't have any problems in terms of blending this foundation with my Beauty Blender because brushes usually takes a lot more time and they create streaky lines too. It dries semi-matte with a buildable coverage so it still looks like your skin but better. Oh, indeed that claim is quite true! It also wears comfortably on the skin but I'd like setting it with a loose powder so it would last longer and I could get rid of too much luminosity. I just don't like the fact that it oxidizes on my oily skin after 4 hours even though I am using a high-end primer. And just like most foundations I have tried, it is not transfer-proof and does feel sticky after a long day that I always come to a point where I badly needed cleansing wipes to remove everything so my skin can breathe from too much oils and dirt.

Here's me with Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation! I must say that it looks so photogenic with or without flash. I haven't used any filter for this photo nor edit it. The foundation just looks pretty nice in a raw photo!

Overall, I would say that I like this foundation had it been longer lasting. Anyway, I couldn't complain for the price I paid though and just imagine wearing foundation on this humid weather--nothing lasts very long. Other than that, I would say that this foundation does really deliver! If you are just starting with makeup, loves uploading IG-worthy selfies and prefer sporting natural-looking makeup, then you might want to give this foundation a try!
