Here's a review on a product which isn't exactly something new but still deserves some spot on my to-review products this January. I have been eyeing this for quite some time together with other Maybelline lash products (need I say they are so popular?) and no matter how affordable they can be, my student budget before was just so tight provided that I wasn't born with a golden spoon. The first mascaras I have tried from Maybelline prior to Lash Sensational were the Great Lash Mascaras in Big and Curved and Hypercurl Volum Express Waterproof Mascara which are all efficient. And just last month, Lazada had this sold for half of its price and I knew right then and there that it's quite the right time.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara has the prettiest muted pink shade of packaging that just look so girly. It definitely is well-deserved to be placed on the foremost part of your vanity area! Agree? Even though it didn't display much information about the product, the fact that it's beautifully marketed is enough to compensate for that (lol). Just keep in mind to store mascaras not longer than 6 months.

Here's what the product claims:

Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline is the first patented fanning brush with 10 layers of bristles to reveal a full flourish of lashes. Liquid Ink formula coats from all sides for a sensational full fan effect.

The mascara wand is quite unique for the bristles are designed to be set apart to avoid clumping which I think is a smart move. It also has a curvature that perfectly match the curve of my lashes so application is very easy. The product itself is very black in color, has the typical scent of mascaras and dries pretty easily once applied.

I consider my lashes just among the average length and volume and I'd like to keep it looking natural on a daily basis. Basically, here's how I do my lashes: to make it more noticeable, I always had to curl it with an eyelash curler first, apply a coat of mascara, let it dry and curl it again because the fluid properties of mascara tend to somehow weigh my lashes down. On the photo below though, I didn't follow all these steps. I just apply the mascara in a single layer and voila! If I did some curling, I bet my lashes would look more open and eyes wider awake!

Achieving darker lashes is possible with Maybelline Lash Sensational since it fully coats the lashes and adds an extra length to it without too much clumping. Although if you want to achieve bolder and more dramatic lashes, reapplication is necessary. One coat though is what I need to make my lashes look naturally longer and fuller. What I like most about this mascara is the fact that it holds pretty well on my oily lids, in fact, I had it on for a good 12 hours without smudging! It's actually a dilemma I had long been facing with mascaras. Most of the mascaras I use smudge in about after 5-6 hours due to my oily lids and lashes and it's a good thing, Lash Sensational beats them. It also claims to be waterproof which is quite true as I had a hard time washing it off. If my brain cells are still functioning, I think I spent 3 cotton wools of Purederm Eye Makeup Remover Pads and I still had to use Loreal Paris 3 in 1 Micellar Water to fully get rid of mascara residue.

Overall, I would say that this product is a smart buy especially if you are just starting with makeups 'cause you can't go wrong with Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This is also perfect to include for budget-friendly makeups that are reliable and trusted by a lot. I will surely repurchase and will recommend this to friends!
