Wet N Wild Beauty Shop Review + Thanksgiving Haul

Hi, there! So as you know, I like shopping through US websites. Unfortunately, most of them doesn't ship to freight forwarding companies like shippingcart.com, myus.com and my-shoppingbox.com. If you're still reluctant or doesn't know the process of using freight forwarders for international orders, I've made separate blogs about them. You may check the links down below! Any way, I'm very pleased that Wet N' Wild ships to warehouse addresses so wherever you are in the world, you can shop straight from the manufacturer.

THE BRAND

One of the best things about Wet n' Wild is the fact that they frequently do sales but of course, sales are harder to miss during holidays and sale seasons. I highly recommend to subscribe on their mailing list to get first dibs on new launches and coupons/promotions.

The shop has lower threshold for free shipping. By purchasing $25 worth of items, you already get free shipping for U.S. orders. Shipping normally takes up to a week depending on the address. If you prefer rush shipping, you may do so with an additional charge of $15.99 for 2-day shipping and $25.99 for next-day shipping. I always prefer the more economical option so I took the free shipping.

They offer makeup freebies! Most of the time, the shop give out makeups in full-size. While on your cart, a pop-up box normally appears and you just have the option to add to cart the item you wish to come with your haul.

They offer multiple payment methods. You can pay with any major credit/debit cards, amazonpay and afterpay where you can pay in portions (for U.S. customers only) or the most convenient for me is the Paypal where I store my cards.

In terms of makeup variations, Wet n' Wild has everything to offer from base makeup to tools. You'll never run out of stuff to buy. I'm just hesitant to purchase makeup items because knowing the brand, their items are either a hit or a miss. I'd rather drop by at kiosks or boutiques to test their products' pigmentation, finish and longevity.

The website is pleasing to the eyes but sometimes non-mobile responsive. I don't have any issues browsing through desktop though I had a hard time shopping through my phone especially when I was carting items, I couldn't find the exit button to return to the shop. I probably did it during maintenance but either way, I hope I don't encounter the same issue next time.

WHAT TRANSPIRED

I placed my order last October 16, 2019 and I received an e-mail confirmation right away saying that they received my order. I keep my receipts and stuff for records but I decided not to post it here for security purposes. Wet N Wild shipped my order October 19, 2019 so that was three days after I placed my order. I'm pretty sure they received tons of orders that particular day so I was still glad they shipped my items pretty quick on a sale season. Normally on other shops, it may take to up to a week before my items leave the warehouse.

On October 25, 2019, I received an e-mail notification from my-shoppingbox.com that a parcel has reached my suite. All I have to do is pay and authorized the shipment and the courier will just have the order shipped to me. Since I opted for the sea cargo (slower but cheaper mode of shipping), I had to wait until December 07, 2018 before I get my items delivered to my doorstep. That's pretty fast because I'm expecting 2 months from the day of authorization to get it.

So there, I received my orders in the best condition. - no dents, marks, damages or anything. I checked my receipt and I got everything complete. My items has been handled and packed well so kudos!

Overall, it was a pleasure doing a transaction from the website. The overall business is fast and easy since we're only talking about the transaction that transpired from the day I ordered up to the day it was delivered on the warehouse. It was exactly 9 days - could be less because freight forwarders still process and check the items before posting on the website and notifying the customers.

Spectrum Collections Makeup Brush Haul + Shop Review

So way back April, Spectrum Collections celebrated their birthday so they had this deal of everything at 50% off. I'm glad I didn't take advantage of the 30% discount during the last year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale because oh well, savings were raining harder during birthdays. Now we know.

Spectrum brushes have been on my wish list for like forever so I am quite happy that I am now living the dream. I purchased the bestselling 35 Piece Holy Grail Set with pouch and added some pink brushes or what they call the 10 Piece Essential Set from the classic line for variation.

ABOUT SPECTRUM COLLECTIONS

Bold, beautiful makeup brushes for total mer-babes!

Spectrum Collections pride themselves on creating trend lead makeup brushes with professional performance. Vibrant colour palettes are teamed with expert, hand-crafted design to ensure your brushes are not only beautiful but offer exceptional quality.

Favoured by the stars and makeup artists on Britain's most popular TV programmes such as TOWIE, Geordie Shore, MIC, Hollyoaks, X Factor, This Morning, and so many more, fill your kit with stand-out brushes that are sure to get you noticed.

*No unicorns were harmed in the making of Spectrum Brushes.

The website is very easy to navigate. It's well-organized and you can filter by trends and collections. I did not have any problems navigating at all. Like what I expected, they have a reward system that will enable customers to earn points for every dollar spent and those points are convertible to discounts that you can use for future transactions with Spectrum. You will get 4 points for every £1 spent. You will also get 500 points during your birthday month. In addition to that, you will get 300 points and a 15% coupon for every friend you refer.

You will get a voucher code for the following amounts:

- Receive a £5 off voucher code when you earn 500 points
- Receive a £10 off voucher code when you earn 1,000 points
- Receive a £25 off voucher code when you earn 2,500 points

Since this is my first time shopping at the website, I got a 10% discount voucher as a welcome gift. I was able to add it on top of the already discounted items. Steal? I know right! Since I also reached the threshold to qualify for free shipping, I need not to worry about extra fees. I placed my order the same day without a blink and later received an e-mail copy about the successful transaction. My items left the warehouse May 03, 2019. There was a delay but I kind of expect it because I'm 101% sure I wasn't the only merbabe who hoard and spend out of excitement.

Shipping Cart got my parcel May 06, 2019. So that's just 3 days after the items were sent out. That's very quick considering that all items are shipped from their UK warehouse. I'm happy that I received the items in good shapeenclosed in a box with bubble wraps. The 10 Piece Essential Set comes in a PVC pouch, while the 35 Piece Holy Grail Set comes with a marble and an eco pouch for protection.

Anyway, here are the items I got!

MILLENIAL 10 PIECE ESSENTIAL SET

For creating beautiful looks, beautiful brushes are essential. Our best selling Essential Set has 10 must-have brushes which combined, are the perfect starting point to creating flawless make-up. Including essentials for face, eyes, and lips, if you want to create make-up masterpieces, these are the tools you need to get started.

B01 - Flat Top Buffer
A01 - Large Domed Powder
A05 - Small Angled Blush
B03 - Buffing Concealer
A06 - Large Fluffy Shader
B06 - Tall Tapered Blender
B04 - Small Angled Blender
A17 - Angled Brow
A15 - Lip Liner
A09 - Angled Eyeliner

All of the brushes in this set are great for blending. They have soft bristles and you can tell that they are made of high quality synthetic hair. They are dense and sturdy too. There aren't any brush that pricks the skin and I love all except probably for the A09 Angled Eyeliner which I find so stiff. I am not a very fan of angled liners so this has influenced my judgement. Other than that, I'm happy with this set.

MARBLEOUS 35 PIECE HOLY GRAIL SET WITH POUCH

I am in loved with the first brush set we talked about and having these set made me think I should've gotten the entire Millenial Collection instead. Comparing the few ones from the first set to their counterpart in the Marbelous Collection, the former are much better in qualityaesthetic and density wise.

Marbleous Collection has soft and plush bristles too but I think the Millenial has more density on the bristles and they pick up more pigments as well. Also, the white bristles and handles are easily stained and I hope I realized it sooner. They all look nice but they are so much better in pictures, I guess. Nonetheless, these are still quality brushes and I'm happy I got them at a heavily discounted price. Truthfully though, I wouldn't spend for full price with this set. This set is inclusive of:

A for Application

A00 - Luxe Powder
A03 - Oval Foundation
A04 - Tapered Finishing Brush
A05 - Precision Blush
A06 - Large Fluffy Shader
A07 - Colour Applicator
A08 - Medium Fluffy Shader
A09 - Angled Eyeliner
A10 - Small Fan
A11 - Spooly
A12 - Fluffy Pencil
A13 - Short Smudge

B for Buffing & Blending

B01 - Flat Top Buffer
B03 - Baby Buffer
B04 - Angled Shader
B05 - Luxe Blender
B06 - Tall Tapered Blender
B07 - Luxe Crease Blender
B08 - Magic Wand

C for Contouring

C01 - Large Fan
C02 - Flat Top Contour
C04 - Angled Powder
C06 - Tulip Eye Contour
C07 - Luxe Sculptor

D for Duo Fibre

D01 - Large Stippler
D04 - Small Strober
D05 - Baby Stippler

I am liking most of the basic face and eye brushes in this collection except for the fan, highlight and duo fiber brushes. I find them too flimsy and they are the ones that shed most during the initial wash. They are too few compared to the ones that I'm keeping so whatever. I'm still overall happy with my haul. I'm still planning to get other brush sets soon from Spectrum Collections but I guess I have to wait because they only have rare sale events.

Let me know if you have questions and I'll get back to you! Happy blogging!

What To Love and Hate About Zalora Philippines

We all know about Zalora and how it's been dubbed as one of the leading e-commerce sites we have in the Philippines. Being a reputable brand, I think it's normal that we expect a lot from it from product quality and customer service, to shipping and delivery. I've been shopping from their site way back in college and that's where I get branded clothes for discounted prices. With me thinking I know Zalora even with my eyes closed, I've come up with a few things I love and hate about the business.

Starting with the good...

They are an authorized dealer of authentic branded pieces. They carry different brands whether luxury or local brands and you can choose from over thousands of items to complete your daily OOTD.

Sales are everywhere. There's always sale going on on top of already discounted items.

They have wide selection of products from fashion to beauty. They do not just sell different fashion finds, they also have accessories, makeup and skincare items which is nice because our skin is the best thing we can wear.

30-days unconditional return and exchange policy. If something does not fit, or you just suddenly had a change of heart, you can simply return an item by dropping it off at any select 2GO or LBC branches or have it picked up from your doorstep. Do take note that this process may take up to a month before you receive your refund. On the brighter side, you can also file for an exchange if you think you just need a better-fitting size.

Swift shipping and handling. Items arrive in good condition, securely-packed and transit time is short. You'll get both text and e-mail notification about the status of your order.

Express/Next Day Shipping has been made available. Zalora had this what you call as Free Express Shipping. Basically, you are entitled for the free next day delivery feature for one full year for only P500. I believe this feature will be automatically added to your cart when shopping and you have the option whether to remove it or not. I took advantage of this last January when they offered full rebate.

***How to take advantage of this? Pay an extra P500 upon checkout and wait for the e-mail 1-2 weeks regarding the status after purchase. Zalora will send you rebate in an increment of two (2) P250 worth of voucher codes that you can use at the webiste with no minimum purchase required.

Different modes of payment available. You can opt to pay through Paypal, credit or debits cards, GCash or even Cash-on-delivery. The choice is yours!

User-friendly website and application. Shopping at Zalora is very smooth. You can filter categories by size, color, brand, price, etc so you won't have to go through thousands of items if you are only looking for a specific product to buy. The only times when troubleshooting is needed is when they are on major sale and the site is crashing like crazy.

Ending with the bad...

Price and availability glitch. I had my worst buyer experience with Zalora. The first time was paying for two (2) Beauty Blenders. Everything was okay until they informed me that only one item has been shipped as they ran out of stock. Also, there was a time when I bought a maroon Nike cap (originally retails at P1,300 on the website) and they had this coupon that entitled buyers to 35% off. Thinking this is a really exclusive deal, I eventually carted the item and paid only P845. Upon receiving the item, I saw the original price tag indicates the item is only P900. Even with the 35% discount, I felt like I was deceived. You can only imagine my frustration. I could have gotten it for a much better deal had it been priced accurately, don't you think?

Poor customer service. Replies from customer service takes time too. Not only particularly to this situation but I had this problem even before. For the scenario mentioned above, I did reach out to them for a resolution. The customer service representative I spoke to said that they would give me a discount code as a compensation for the inconvenience and later on retracted her words, saying that I should just disregard the e-mail sent and that I just had to return the item for refund. Is this how you're supposed to treat a customer? I don't think so.

Does not cater to petite body sizes. Since I have really small body frame, I just hope that they would sell more XXS-XS items since most of the clothes I love from the website have limited size available.

With all these in mind, I can tell that the pros still outweigh the cons so I'm pretty sure I'll still shop at Zalora. I've thought of writing this because right now, I'm eyeing a Nike shoes that I'm planning to buy on payday. :D What's in your recent Zalora haul?
