Been a hoarder of anything base recently and now my problems: which one should I use today? How am I going to empty everything without passing its expiration date? What would happen if I had a favoritism (this happens, now I'm ditching everything else for this!!!)? Oh well, things like this are normal for makeup junkies but I know you'll agree if I say that we just cannot have enough makeup on our stash! We purchase new items every now and then without having to think if it's usable or not. Lol. Good thing, this Revlon Colorstay Makeup works for me. It better be because it's one of the most expensive foundation I have (okay, screw my poorness haha).

I have been hearing positive reviews with the other Revlon Colorstay Makeup--the one with no pump, and I thought it got the same formulation so I bought this instead. True to words, I just fell in love with my bottle! No wonder how its immensely popular all over the country, probably what adds up to this is how they made this foundation cater not just to complexions but to skin types too. Yes, they have the formulation for those with dry to normal skin types as well (but with lesser shade selection). I chose the one for combination/oily because I simply oil up too much.

After a bit of thinking, the shade that I picked was 180/Sand Beige which appears to have a neutral undertone but still looks quite light for my complexion. I'm still really having a difficulty choosing the best foundation shade until now. And because I like the formulation, I tried making it work for my advantage because I have a darker (than my skin tone) shade of powder to set this in.

I haven't tried the older one in its older version of packaging but from the looks of it, I would be one of those girls who would disapprove of it because application tends to be so messy. It's really a good thing Revlon decided to produce this foundation with pump bottles. Mine's bottle pump easily dispenses the right amount of foundation I want. Moreover, I think the brand made a nice packaging for their product--sleek and classy-looking.

For my verdict, I think Revlon Colorstay Makeup is such a steal, a gem from the drugstore. I rarely agree with rave reviews but this is an exception. In fact, I do not have anything bad to say about this, well, other than the typical foundation scent it has and how it isn't such a travel-friendly makeup, which are not so bothersome at all.

To apply this makeup, I usually use either my fingers or my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I think it looks better than if I use a foundation brush to avoid streaks because this makeup dries easily so you do not have that much time to blend the product. What I love most about it is how it easily conceals my imperfections without going a little too overboard. I like applying only a little of it to achieve a sheer to medium coverage because I do not like full foundation on. It just does not feel comfortable. With this on, I cannot opt for a natural look because it looks like I have foundation on. Was it the full coverage power and long-wearing formula? Uhm, I don't know but I know there are foundations in the market that offers superb coverage while still looking like it's skin but better.

Another thing is how it feels so lightweight without the tacky feeling, prolly because of its mattifying and oil-free formula. So if you are from the warm regions of the globe, I bet you will love this even more! I cannot just vouch if this ever controls oil because nothing beats my extensive sebum production lol.

What impresses me so much is it being designed as a long wearing foundation. Tell you what, OMG, it's true! I finally have something to depend on during events when I needed a heavy duty base makeup. I'm actually wearing it today during our Wave (an event organized by the PR major students), and holy cow, it stayed on my face until I went home at 8:00PM. That's from 11:00AM to 8:00PM. I'll let you do the Math! I have to remind you as well that I did so much today like join the activities, run, play, roam around while documenting the whole event and the foundation stayed intact without caking, oxidizing, or settling on fine lines even after I sweat a lot! It also does not look bad in flash photography.

Overall, I think Revlon Colorstay Makeup is a really good drugstore find. It could even compete with more expensive brands especially on the longevity and coverage department. I hope Revlon will not stop producing this foundation because I'm sure that I'll definitely be repurchasing in the distant future.

Tried this foundation? Any thoughts? Happy blogging!
