Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Natural Glow Foundation Review

Bought from: online website

Here's something I bought last time when I made a makeup haul online at bonmarchepage. I heard okay feed backs about it (not much rave nor hate reviews) since it was launched last year and I thought, I need to give this a try. Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation claims to be oil-free and has non-greasy formula that could give skin a natural luminosity that lasts all day. It also says to be perfect for achieving radiant skin and hydrates it while providing flawless coverage. There's nothing new with its claim, so I kind of wasn't so intrigued at first. Its claim to give a luminous finish wasn't so appealing too because I thought it's just another term for dewy and most foundations with dewy finish just don't work for my oily skin.

I took my time looking at swatches from different sources and I still ended up not picking the right shade though since this one is a little light for me and has a peachy undertone (when I need warm). I have been a loser in choosing shades since time immemorial and I haven't learned so much. Even though the shade does not match me a hundred percent, I would still like to highlight all the positive things which this product deserves. I was kind of guilty that I judged it first without even trying it. So anyway...let's get started!

This foundation has a few shades that you can choose on: 810 Classic Ivory, 820 Creamy Natural, 825 Buff Beige, 842 Medium Beige, 855 Soft Honey, 860 Classic Tan, and 875 Soft Sable (as per their site). I just hope they add more to cater to both lighter and darker complexions.

This foundation, as you can tell, comes in typical foundation glass bottles with a pump. However, what sets it apart from others is how it is secured by letting you twist the product to the left to lock it and twist it to the other side to unlock/ allow you to dispense product. I got a loose cap so I tend to misplace it all the time.

The shade that I have here is 820 or Creamy Natural which appears to have a strong peachy undertone. I always try to make it work by putting a neutral shade of powder foundation or setting powders on top of it.

I would say that this foundation has a sheer coverage but I like it still because it goes well with my usual no-makeup makeup look when I go to school. Also, it does not reek of any sickly scent.

The consistency amazes me. It's not too runny nor thick and has shimmers on it. Probably, this is what contributes to the luminous finish, but don't worry, you're not going to look like you have highlighters all over your face! Just a hint of glow, that is. It reminds me of the Revlon Photoready Foundation in terms of the shimmers but this one is better. Even with the use of sponge or my fingers alone, this product blends so easily on the skin without causing ugly streaks. I didn't have issues with its finish too because it dries to a semi-matte finish even when it's supposed to be luminizing. Now, it's non-sense that I have been wary about its 'luminous' claim. With this said, it could be a bit of a turn-off for those who want a foundation that is moisturizing and hydrating rather than matte but I swear, you won't have any problem with the consistency even you do have dry skin. I don't know if I am making any sense here, but I like that it's kind of hydrating on the face but without the shine. This foundation feels so light on my skin too as if I'm wearing nothing which is why I am giving this another thumbs up. For a country with bipolar weather (you never know when it's too hot or cold), this is the safest foundation to go to. It goes with any temperature, if you know what I mean.

If you look at the swatch above, you will see that the center part of my skin where I have the foundation on displays a bit of a glow. This is the part which I'm gonna tell you that this foundation is true to its claim in giving you a natural luminous glow. It's not about the finish, it's more on how the foundation would look on you and that was what impressed me. It's not gonna give you the most radiant skin but when you do apply this, your skin will surely look fresher and healthier. However, don't forget to apply sunscreen underneath as it lacks SPF. This foundation does not wear off too easily as well, maybe longer than 4 hours on my oily skin but hey, it's an achievement to me already because I seldom own a foundation that will not oxidize for hours.

The only major problem I had was the shade and it's my mistake. After I ran out of this, I'll surely try other shade. I'll be picking the 842 medium beige next time!

Overall, I like this foundation and I'm giving this a thumbs up. It's so affordable and perfect for beginners like me to play with. What about you? Have you tried Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Natural Glow Foundation? Any thoughts? Happy blogging!
