Me Now Pro Artists Mechanical Lipstick in 002 and Long Lasting Lip Gloss in 33 Review

I am such a late bloomer for having to discuss two products from a brand that has been a hype months or probably years ago. Friends, acquaintances and even makeup enthusiasts are obsessing about this Chinese brand, Me Now, primarily because of its beautifully pigmented shades at a super affordable price. Received mine several months ago from an online shop on Instagram called MHJeanCosmetics for which I am really thankful for.

The shade of the Me Now Pro Artists Mechanical Lipstick that MHJeanCosmetics sent me is in 002, a fuchsia pink in tone with shimmers on it. If I am not mistaken, it retails for a little above or under a hundred bucks and has more than ten beautiful shades to choose from--nudes to bold shades. It claims to protect lips with nourishing herbs and plant waxes and gives lips a soft, silky shine. True to its claim, indeed.

This lipstick comes in an expensive-looking retractable packaging with a transparent plastic cap, nowhere near a hundred bucks. It actually looks like a jumbo crayon for me lol as how the product is shaped. 

For your own reference, I provided a swatch above. As you can see, it has a sheer finish with a high moisture content that could be easily wiped off with a damp cloth or tissue, thus, reapplication is necessary. Pigmentation is a turn-off as well. Like most lip products, this, although claims to nourish the lips, tends to dry kissers so you might want to put balms underneath.

Me Now Long Lasting Lip Gloss has 34 shades (if I am not mistaken) which you can choose from. I was given the shade in 33 which is a beautiful shade for me as it looks so elegant and sophisticated when worn although not something I could wear on typical days. The packaging reminds me of vials like in Harry Potter (Sorry, I had to watch all eight movies all over again this vacation lol), although in plastics. The twist-able cap, which contains the doe-foot applicator, locks tight too so no need to worry about product spills or leaks and such.

Amazingly, one lip gloss retails a little above or under a hundred bucks but on some online market places like Ebay, this could go for as low as P30 (depends on shades). The cover displays the manufacturing and expiry dates. Amazingly, one product could lasts 6 years! Oh-la-la, I wonder how many chemicals are in there.

The shade in 33 looks like brick red for me--a combination of brown and bloody red which I actually wore during our advertising proposal! Lol. If you may ask, my friends loved the shade too and so they applied this on their lips as well! Much like goals. Hahah! However, I wasn't able to let it sit on my lips longer than 2 hours because I felt my lips gone warm and itchy. This is because I have very sensitive lips and most lipsticks can't really survive. I find it funny that it's branded as a lip gloss yet it dries to a matte finish in seconds upon application! It's flat and not a hint of moisture on it though it's easily blendable. It's not long-wearing too and tends to cake on the lips.

If you are looking for pigmented and affordable lip products, I highly recommend Me Now Lip Makeups. They have a great selection of shades and won't break the bank. I like the Long Lasting Lip Gloss better than their Pro Artists Mechanical Lipsticks if you may ask, however, I don't think I would repurchase as the formulation's really not my type.

Bottomline is, Royal Gold 24K Radiant Foundation is not really for me. I really thought that it is a promising product because of Althea's description which says that it is intended for those with dull skin tone with blemishes, dry skin due to makeup, those concerning cakey and oily makeup and those who wants coverage and glow even with simple makeup. Though it still claims to give you a glowy and moisturized skin, I played stubborn and surrendered to my desire of having even if it means faking a Korean-like skin. Turns out, I paid more than the pricey tag price. If you want to hear more of my sort of tirades, please keep on reading.

The product comes in a sleek compact packaging, a combination of gold and blue, with a mirror on it. It ables you to provide a refill too by removing the inner gold ring and pressing the butt of the pan through the holes below the compact. I'm pretty sure we're so used to BB cushions in bulky compacts and we might mistaken this foundation as BB cushion too, but it's not. The sponge that comes together allows you to scoop the product and blend on skin. By the way, I like the sponge big time as it resembles a puff wherein you can insert your finger to get a better access when you put it on your skin.

The shade I have here is 21, with a pink undertone and which is lighter than my actual skin color. When applied, it looks unnatural and grayish. I got it not because it's nearer to my skin color but because a darker shade is not available anymore. Knowing Koreans with fair complexion, it appears to me that there's no way Althea would ever sell a shade darker than 23. Unfortunately, even 23 is light for me but closer. Anyway, I could set my makeup with a darker shade of pressed powder to balance my color.

This foundation has a whooping SPF35 on it so we can assure we're protected under the sun but does it mean white cast? Yes. I tried products with SPF before and some of them are great with flash photography, another thing that made me disappointed with Royal Gold 24k Radiant Foundation.

The foundation is covered with a thin layer of gold as you can see on the photo. It has 3 mg of gilt on the surface and 1ppm of gold inside the foundation. No wonder how much you pay for this. Imagine, you are putting gold on your skin! According to the direction for use, you will have to rub the surface slightly with a fingertip, and the foundation and gold will melt softly, improving the spreadability. Had I known that gold is only advantageous to product's spreadability, I shouldn't have bought this in the first place.

The self-glow effect with 24k gold component it imparts does not really go well with my oily skin. I know it aims to make skin moist and glowing but never had I imagined that it will be so sticky and greasy. I do not know with other's experience though.

One good thing I like about this product is that it is not strongly-fragrance so even the most scent-sensitives will not find it off-putting. Definitely, it does not reek of cheap and chemical-filled foundations.

Blending the foundation and the gold really contributes to product spreadability but with my super oily skin, this foundation can only stand a maximum of 8 hours of my skin, far from the 24-hour claim. This also provides a minimal coverage so concealer is a must. I would say that due to the high moisture factor, this foundation will not make your makeup cake.

Overall, I did not really learn to love this product even after my fourth try. I eventually gave up and decided to go back to my previous foundation. Sure it's made of gold, pricey and looks promising, but something I learned? Sometimes, affordable products function better. On the other hand, don't lose hope if you are eyeing this because it could work for you! In fact, I recommend this to those with extra dry skin for them to try. It definitely works to moisturize the skin!

Merry Christmas, everyone! While everyone''s done exchanging gifts, I'm still here finishing my  list for late Christmas shopping! It's quite fun thinking of what kind of presents to give away to each person who are special to me. And looking for cute Christmas wrappers are sooooooo cool.

It's my first time trying out City Color products and I'm glad this made me give them a good first impression though I am not really sure if the thing I got here is authentic? I've been searching online about this type of pressed powder and they are showing the Be Matte something in a black compact. Mine's in white. Please tell me I wasn't sweet talked into buying a counterfeit powder. Anyway, thing is, I like it.

As you can see, the product is housed in a rectangular compact that is scratch-prone. Mine's brand new but look how it's severely flawed prolly due to mishandling during the shipping or these are excess from department stores. Whichever happened, I paid low for this so I was not really bothered.  It also has this small mirror at the back of its cover. However, I would prefer if it's not laid flat çoz it's almost the size of an iPhone 5.

To open the powder, you will have to press the lock in a downward motion. Phew, to be honest, I didn't figure this thing out the soonest.

The product smells okay for me. There's no hint of anything awful, even scents of cheap pressed powder sold just anywhere. The product, which is in shade Light, is a tad lighter than my skin tone. I actually ordered the one in Fair/Medium but it got sold out so I was asked to choose between Light and the darkest shade (can't remember the name), but I thought Light could be more manageable.

The product has a pinkish undertone to it which is pretty okay for me as it claims to be suitable for any skin type. But then again, what's the shade selection for? Couldn't pick up the logic. But there's something true to it because upon application, you would notice that this product is light on skin (but not awkward light) but eventually turns the color of my own skin after a few hours. Was it the oxidation taking place? I'm not sure.

This product is kinda hard to blend on skin with the use of the sponge so be patient and take extra effort. It offers a sheer coverage too so it would be better to be applied over foundations or BB creams as a setting/finishing powder. Though it controls oil and shine, touch-ups are still necessary. On the other hand, this does not turns cakey on me prolly because of it's lightweight formula, neither breaks me out.

Overall, I like this pressed powder but not to the point that I would repurchase. I would like to recommend it though because of the smoothness of the powder itself and how fine it applies on skin. Also, it is probably one of the cheapest pressed powder in the market that works to mattify the skin for a longer period!

Product Empties from November-December 2016

Happy holidays, everyone! How's your day? Mine's a little typical, you know, with all the cooking and house cleaning and stuff because mom's on a day off and she always exclaims never to keep the house in mess when visitors are most likely to come lol. Really, I wanted to go out, unwind and shop for late Christmas giveaways but house chores's keeping me from doing it. I cooked some sliced gelatin mixed condensed milk, well not as if it requires the several process of cooking, one thing I learned from my recent overnight with the squad. Heck, love it so much!

Anyway, let me share to you my product empties for this month.

1. Oil of Life Huile de Vie Moisturizing Body Wash

Instead of lathering this on my body, I like using it as a hand wash because this does not dry out my skin but it effectively cleanses and removes dirt from it.

2. Carrot Health Soap

This soap lathers richly, non-drying, makes skin soft, smooth, bright and glowing and is so affordable! It is best use by people who are prone to acne and pimple breakouts and those who wants to brighten dull skin. Review here.

3. Eskinol Pimple Fighting Facial Deep Cleanser

So far, this is the best toner and cleanser that could perform heavy duties of cleansing the skin deep down. Even with the alcohol on it, this does not dry out my skin but makes it matte enough to be a good canvas for makeup. Review here.

4. Etude House Dear Darling Tint

What I like most about it is its pigmentation. However, I tried longer lasting tints so I wasn't really impressed with its staying power. Like other tints, this dries out my lips. Review here.

5. Clean & Clear Active Clear Acne Marks Cleanser

This cleanser suds gently and is non-drying. It doesn't have any foul fragrance too. However, it does not really control breakouts nor heal them. It still is worth trying out because it is affordable and is widely available. Review here.

Claims: A combination of Honey and Snail Secretion that rewinds skin age. Honey One Snail Ultra Moisture Cream is a nourishing cream that contains Snail Secretion for high hydration and moisturization. It hydrates dry, scaly faces and helps anti-wrinkling. With Aloe Leaf Extract, Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter to prevent dryness; Cacao Extract, Portulaca Extract and Nano Adenosine to promote elasticity and is anti-wrinkling; Chondroitin Effect and Mucin that are anti-aging; Bacillus Ferment Extract to provide nourishment; and Honey know to improve dullness.

I have always been curious about products which are Snail-infused as they are currently a hype in Korean skin care. Knowing and admiring their skin which looks so flawless, no beauty junkie will ever say no to a product that could aid achieve the same skin texture, yeah? This leads me to try Nella Fantasia Honey One Snail Ultra Moisture Cream, one of Althea's bestseller.

I guess we must all need to familiarize ourselves with what Snail Secretion can do to our skin. According to Althea Korea, Snail Secretion contains a protein substance called 'Mucin' which helps snails maintain their stickiness and hydration by releasing this from their bodies. It also helps them prevent losing moisture, restores their broken shells rapidly, recovers cut or infected skin, provides liveliness and shine to dull faces and restore skin to its original state. To be honest, I find it hard to believe that what Snail can do to its body can also be done to human skin. Isn't that preposterous?

The product comes in a bulky plastic jar with an inner lid to ensure product freshness. Actually, I find the whole design so adorable, however, the size's not really travel-friendly as I need to transfer the cream on smaller jars during overnights. Also, it does not have a mini spatula inside so finger dipping is the only way for you to get the cream unless, of course, if you are resourceful enough to get cotton buds, etc. Really, this is so not hygienic.

I also like that there's available information translated in English for those who cannot read Korean like me. Manufacturing date is printed on the bottom part of the tub. Once opened, Korean products are expected to stay good for only a year and three years from its manufacturing date if still sealed.

The cream itself has a thick white jelly-like consistency. The texture is also very innovative indeed. Unlike other creams, this one is bouncy in consistency as well. It smells mild too and please don't ask me how it's scented because I'm really bad at describing scents lol.

I actually like a lot of things about it aside from its scent. The cream is easy to blend on the skin. In fact, even when the cream is thick, when blended, it turns ultralight and gets absorbed easily by the skin. This product is really moisturizing and hydrating but I do not think I needed heavy-duty moisturizer provided that I have super oily skin. Prolly it's made to make skin dewy but when applied on my skin, heck, it just looks like an oil slick. On the other hand, those with dry skin can feast with it to hinder premature aging and wrinkling of the skin.

I also like how this cream effectively brighten my complexion when I wake up probably because of its capability to restore skin's original state. That is why I apply a generous amount on my face during bedtime. In the morning, I only apply a small amount to allow BB Creams or Foundations to glide and blend effortlessly on my skin. Using it for months did not break me out nor irritated my skin even once. And due to its high moisture factor, I like applying it on the driest parts of my skin particularly on my hands and feet.

With the whooping 100ml of product per jar, I would pretty much say it's affordable as it could last more than a couple of months (still depends on application). Overall, I would say this is such a steal and I'm willing to repurchase and recommend this most especially to those with dry skin. If you are into those products that can lighten scars, heal pimples or prevent zits, you can also try this but you have to religiously use it for weeks before you notice significant effects. Wonders do not happen overnight. ;)

So I found out I'm growing my leftover draft posts and found this product waiting for me to write a review on. I already had this months ago but it's only now did I had the chance to share my thoughts about it. In fact, I bought it from Sooper Beaute's SM Manila Branch which was now closed. That long. I have nothing much to say about it though since I have tried a few Castor Oils from different Instagram shops and they're pretty much the same.

They say that Castor Oils has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids. Its unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair. It helps hair grow out strong and fast. I do not have extreme sparse eye lashes but I still want it to look fuller and thicker prolly what pushed me to take a chance on it.

The packaging looks really chic and the dropper makes dispensing product so much easy. A bottle has only 15ml of oil inside but due to its viscosity, a little shall go a long way already, I doubt it will be emptied so soon. Unlike other oils, Castor Oil has thick consistency which I do not really like to apply on my skin as it would turn greasy and sticky, let alone in my hair. I wouldn't follow it even if it claims to be beneficial to the skin. I do not prefer putting it to my hair as I do not want to end up with greasy mane. No way. Turns out that I only use this every bed time for my lashes and eye brows to help my hair grow out. Finishing bottles of Castor Oil made no much difference to be honest or maybe I still have to consume more bottles, use them religiously to really achieve a significant effect.

On the other hand, its deep moisturizing properties is really good for those with extreme dry skin whether on the eye, face or body area as its mild, gentle and non-irritating since it is an organic and natural product of Sooper Beaute. In fact, I like using it on my hands and feet where my driest skin is at. What I usually do is mix an ample amount or a drop on the lotion and voila. Moreover, I do not have a problem with the scent. It smells nutty, but okay.

If you wanted to grow out your lashes, you really have to be so patient and probably use Castor Oil along with other tested ingredients that will help make your lashes full and thick! Still, we react differently to products so maybe it will work better on you. Let me know if you already tried this traditional way of lengthening hair strands and if it works, okay? Happy blogging! 

Nivea Mattifying Toner for Combination to Oily Skin Review

Claims: Tones the skin deeply and removes residues. Reduces excess sebum and oil with its mattifying formula. Maintains skin's natural balance with its formula that contains Ocean Algae and Hydra IQ.

Surprisingly, I've been after toners lately. What catches my attention the most are those that are also intended to provide an 'extra cleaning' on the pores. I have been loving the Eskinol Pimple-fighting Cleanser but I ran out of it and decided to give Nivea Mattifying Toner a try. After all, it claims to control oil as well. Again, it's what I currently needed for my uber oily face.

This toner retails for double the price of my favorite Eskinol but I think it is still worth every penny especially it has 200ml of product inside. If I am to repurchase, I highly doubt it will be so soon.

The bottle is tinted green with a matte texture and a cap that shuts tight with a click. I can't really find the right words to describe the overall container but it's so simply made and I love it!

To be honest, Nivea Mattifying Toner does not really make an impact on me prolly because it fails to keep my oil at bay like how I expect it to. After all, the 'mattifying' part is what usually sold me. It has a water-like formula that smells so mild and gentle, alcohol-free but quite takes extra seconds to dry. I really expect it to make my skin feel and look matte and significantly remove shine but it does not. Instead, my skin feels moisturized and looks dewy. At other circumstances, I would appreciate it's non-drying formula but I needed something that would really mattify my skin, making it a good canvas prior to makeup application. Apart from being moisturizing, it can also remove makeup residue only if you stroke a swab of cotton on your face for many times.

Moreover, I do not find this product as something that could prevent future breakouts because I'm still having zits. It would be nicer to have a toner that does dual job: controls oil and prevents zits. On the other hand, I think it is more ideal for use of those with sensitive skin due to its non-irritating and mild formulation.

I haven't consumed all of the products yet and I plan on using the rest as a facial mist to spray on before and after makeup application. Apart from all the benefits it offers, I would pretty much say it is just an average product and there's a lot better toners out there that is cheaper and more effective than this.

Clean & Clear used to be my top to-try drugstore brand this year and I just can't let 2016 past without having to actually try this product myself especially after hearing a lot of positive feed backs from different bloggers out there. I already tried the other gel cleanser intended for acne prevention, now I'm into this. Since receiving some skin care stuff seem unstoppable this year, I was hindered from purchasing products over and over as I have more stuff to try out first and write reviews on. What really triggered my desire to get a hold of this is when a fellow IG blogger gushed about how this cleanser effectively control oil and ooh-la-la! Perfect timing, you say? I've been having a bad case of oiliness until I had this!

This product claims to clean deep down into pores, thoroughly removing dirt, oil and makeup. With the breakthrough Rice Extract Oil Absorbing System, it work better than before to control oil for up to 8 hours. Leaves skin feeling clean and fresh all day long.

I didn't know Rice Extract could effectively control oil. Had I known it earlier, I never should have sell my face pack infused with rice extract! Huhu. And yeah, it could really control oil for a longer period of time than when I use other brands of cleanser. With this, I no longer have to worry with extreme oiliness because it really can keep oil at bay for a maximum of 1-2 hours. During this period, my makeup is still as fresh as newly-applied, with only a hint of dewiness. I know it's just so short but I take this as an achievement already because I have super oily skin that is also characterized with large pores.

I like the packaging as it is housed in a travel-friendly tube that's quite so easy to use for dispensing product. It's also complete with labels and other additional information like ingredients, claims, directions, cautions and expiry date.

As you notice, the product has a pearly shade and has a thick consistency that foams richly. I used to hate foamy cleansers because they tend to break me out, making me prefer those with gel-like consistency, but nothing like this happened whenever I use Clean and Clear Deep Action Cleanser.

Using it everyday makes skin looking clearer, brighter and fresher. It really does its job to control oil, and make it less severe and make skin soft and smooth though I find it something that could strip off skin's moisture probably because of its mattifying formula. This is why, I always apply moisturizer afterwards. In terms of scent, I have no problem with its mildly-fragranced formula.

If you are to ask me what is the one cleanser that could really keep oil at bay, I highly recommend it if this is your main concern. But if you ask me if this control breakouts too, that I can't really vouch for, first, it is not intended to prevent zits from coming, second, it does not cure my freshly-popped pimples on my cheeks and jaw areas. Still, this is a product that's worth a try! It's affordable, effective and lasts a long time since you only needed a small amount every application!

I can't believe it's already December. I used to consider this moment as a sweater season but I just can't seem to wear my long sleeves anymore even if I wanted to. It's just so freakin' hot even if there are times when it's drizzling outdoor. Why. I would like to skip sunblock especially those that are uber sticky but not until I tried Belo SunExpert Ultra Gentle Sheer Spray SPF 50 PA+++.

I have this for like forever but only last month did I start using it. I even tried to sell most of my sun blocks including this one but thought of giving this one a try. Never had I imagine to like it lol.

The product comes in a spray bottle with a pump that is so easy to utilize. It’s loaded with information too so I can easily track down directions, warnings, ingredients and even the manufacturing and expiry dates. The cap’s tight as well but most of time, I tend to lose it. That’s so careless of me huh.

The pump itself is quite easy to spray on all over your body but there are wasted drops which I really don’t like, after all this sunblock is no way can be purchased cheaply in the market. Good thing, it’s available nationwide, especially on all leading drugstores and supermarkets. I always spot this on the shelves of Watsons lol.

The product smells okay for me as it’s not so strong. It also claims to be lightweight on the skin but I do feel some oiliness which takes time to be fully absorbed into my skin. It’s either I put too much or that I did the improper way to dispense it? I have no idea. What I usually do is use my palms to massage it on the skin to stimulate absorption. On the other hand, once dried, this product does not turn out to be sticky, warm or irritating unlike other body sun screens that I have tried before.
