OLD VS NEW: Skin Temptations Berry KIss Cream Review

Our love for lip tints has been obvious nowadays that all we need to do is apply some on our lips and then we're good to go. It instantly imparts vibrancy on dull lips without going a little too overboard. It's something that is so convenient to use, inspired by K-Beauty and because we have always been fascinated by their looks, we adopt it in our daily makeup as well. And now, here's a product that has become my go-to tint when I'm off to somewhere--the Skin Temptations Berry Kiss Cream. I have both in the old and the new formulation.

Berry Kiss Cream claims to make your lips and cheeks naturally red. You can apply it to your lips and cheeks to make it look rosy. It retails P80 before (for the old formulation). I guess its P20 hike in its retail price is super worth it given that you will get a much pigmented version because it has more fruit pigments for longer lasting wear!

As you can see, both has almost the same amount and size in terms of packaging--so travel-friendly, it can even fit well on pockets without you worrying of its bulkiness for your easy retouch anytime, anywhere. Like most of organic products on Instagram, this one has a cute packaging. Simple, but, well, cute.

Actually, this post is intended to be a comparison review for the old and the new formulation of the Berry Kiss Cream. So here it is!

One vast improvement from the old formulation is the color payoff. The old is bloody red in shade while the new has an orange-y red color. The The new formulation offers at least 10x more vivid color while the old has super sheer color payoff. There's minimal to no difference in terms of scent though (this I'm not sure of since I've been having colds and I can't really rely on my sense of smell). The old formulation has mousse-like texture while the new one has more liquid-y feel to it--it's almost a tint for me, but both offer shine-free finish. Both feels moisturizing too, meaning, I find it non-drying. You can even put it under tints or lipstick to provide a hydrated layer.

The new formulation of Berry Kiss Cream wins in the longevity competition because of its higher level of color payoff. It in fact lasts me up to five hours (for the lips) and whole day (for the cheeks) before I needed some retouch. If you are opting for a more naturally flushed look, you can simply control the amount to use because the new formulation has a really nice pigmentation so a little goes a long way already.

To be honest, I did not know what to do with the old formulation because it was not really pigmented for lips and cheeks use, in fact, it turns to barely-there color when the product is wiped off.  You can refer to my swatches though. you can see that the new formulation leaves a nice tint on the lips even when wiped off. The sheer color fades easily too so it's really a nice thing that Skin Temptations decided to make a change in the formulation and consistency. Berry Kiss Cream in a mousse-like texture has a tendency to look patchy on lips while the new one blends effortlessly. Now I can simply say bye to dullness within a matter of seconds.

The jar is so convenient to use, however, the dipping part is kinda frustrating (for someone who favors hygienic packaging). I wasn't able to think of any packaging suggestion though so I will just have to say to only use the product with nothing but clean hands to avoid bacteria contamination.

Overall, I love the Berry Kiss Cream! It's so affordable, easy to use, creates a natural flush and is made of organic and natural ingredients! Another product from Skin Temptations that's worth recommending to everyone! Love love!

Skin Temptations Velvet Love It Foundation Review

These days, I could not get off our house without my precious foundations. Back then, powders will do until I became a self-proclaimed beauty blogger, that's when foundations became a totem of me. I guess no one who's a blogger and at the same time a makeup enthusiast would leave the house without any makeup on, especially foundation. I bet you have tons in your drawers, do you? Here's something that you might want to add into your growing stash! Introducing Skin Temptations Velvet Love It Foundation!

For mobile users: Velvet Love It Foundation is a weightless whitening cream to powder foundation that provides a velvety finish. It can be used under makeup as a primer. Cream to powder foundation that will create your unique flawless look. It has SPF 45 to protect your skin from harmful sun UV rays.

Directions for use: Apply cream to powder foundation evenly all over the face.

Ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Dimethicone

The product comes in an airless pump bottle with complete labeling including the directions, ingredients, expiration, etc. Dispensing the product would not be a problem as you can easily control the amount that you only want to use. The layout kinda looks cute too though not really high-end looking for its price in my opinion. The scent is okay too, it's faint, barely-there odor--not at all bothersome for me. You know me, scent is not my strongest suit.

The cream foundation itself has an okay formula in terms of consistency. "Okay" meant  that it is neither runny nor thick in formulation. In fact, it reminds me of mousse foundations but this one is liquid-y. When you try to squeeze some on your fingers, you'll instantly know that it really is weightless/lightweight on skin and it can still breathe. Definitely, no tacky feeling.

On first use, I tried to apply this above Banila Co Prime Primer in Classic Matte. I thought it would look patchy the whole day because of its sort of mousse consistency but after blending it on my skin, that's when I notice how great this product is. You don't have to wait a bit for it to settle on your skin because as soon as you spread it on your face, it dries up immediately, leaving a powdery finish.

It imparts a radiant glow and brightening effect even on first use too! It feels velvety soft and smooth as well--really true to its word! However, I would say that the coverage is light, I even had it tested for you (Scroll down below). I just keep on convincing myself that it is a cream foundation intended to be a part of your skincare more than makeup and is better in the work of primer than of foundation. Nonetheless, I still love the natural look it gives! Your skin will still feel like your own but better.

I think the shade is really perfect for whatever skin tone you have. I underestimated its ability to blend well on my skin tone because I find the shade a tad lighter than my natural skin tone but when blended, it turns almost the same color as my own! Amazeballs, isn't it? It also has a neutral undertone but just like what I have said, it easily blends on whatever skin tone you have.

Pak ang brightening effect diba, kabog ba o hindi!? XD Sorry for the scars and blemishes and everything. :( Anyway, all swatches are taken under same lighting.

What makes it stand out in your stash of foundation is its being a product of an all-natural and organic advocate like Ms. Joyce. I am also using it together with their CC Cream--which is supposed to be another new product of Skin Temptations. Unfortunately, they encountered a problem regarding the production of raw materials. Seriously, I was saddened by this news because I was starting to love the formulation of their CC Cream (sobrang pak talaga nun!)

To date, no breakouts, no adverse reactions, whatsoever. I highly recommend this Velvet Love It Foundation whether you have dry, sensitive or oily skin. In fact, this foundation is best for oily skinned gals like me because the product turns to powdery matte (once settled) that's velvety to the touch. Also, it has a whooping SPF45 so you stay protected even under the sun!

What I like:

-It brightens the face and gives a radiant glow instantly.

-No adverse reaction (still you might want to consider doing patch test prior to using this)

-It turns to powdery and velvety matte which suits my skin.

-One shade fits all.

-It makes skin smooth and soft.

-It has a SPF45 which shields the skin from harmful UV rays.

-It is cruelty-free/deprived of any harmful chemicals.

-No tacky/heavy feeling after you blend it.

-It evens out skin tone though does not really reduce the appearance of redness, marks/scars and blemishes vastly.

-You don't want to wait for so long for it to settle because the moment you spread it, you get the natural coverage you never thought you'll get.

What I don't like:

-It has a light coverage and works better as cream and primer than foundation.

-The product is kinda pricey so even when I decide to repurchase, I might not be able to because I have to consider my student budget.

Review | Skin Temptations Black Bites Bar

I don't have the slightest idea why, but I am currently into soaps nowadays. Can anyone tell me what is happening to me? :D

Anyway, without further adieu, let me introduce to you this Black Bites Bar which was sent to me by Ms. Joy of Skin Temptations last...uhm...wait...was it November? December? Or last month? I forgot huhuh! Anyway, it took me time to review this since I have been on hiatus about using different soap aside from Sooper Beaute's variants. Anyway, let's start!

The soap is actually larger than regular sized soaps which definitely would last longer too. It actually looks like the Black Soap from Sooper Beaute and has the same beneficial claims.

It claims to give the skin a superior skin whitening and gradual renewal without redness and irritations. It exfoliates dead skin cells through its resurfacing crystals and willow bark.

Also, it lathers pretty much and feels so soft in the skin, leaving it well-cleansed. It's true to its claim to be gentle while exfoliating the skin because of the resurfacing crystals since after every bath, my skin feels soft and smooth without the dreaded dryness whitening soaps do. Because of this, I think even those with sensitive and dry skin can use this.

Unlike Sooper Beaute's Black Soap, this one is gentler, smells better and is more effective for me. After every bath, I notice that my skin seems to glow and brightened up without the painful peeling and tingling sensation. Also, my pimples dried up while I am using this, now I can say that my face has lesser breakouts because of this.

And because I hate to see this gone wasted just because it melts on soap dishes unused, I have to divide this into thinner portions as you can see above. By the way, I love dividing all the soaps I have so when I decide for some abrupt change of bars, then it's easy to let go of small parts than of a whole. Also, it's nice to share them to my friends too! That way, we could go over our experience with the bar and together we discuss its wonders and such.

Overall, this is a very good product worth repurchasing. I recommend it to those beauty junkies on a budget since a bar is sooo affordable and is effective!

Review | Skin Temptations Grapeseed Oil

This year, I've been active with my Instagram account. From there, I was introduced to a lot of IG shops that formulate and sell what they claim as products that are naturally-made and are all organic. I got rocked and eventually vowed to let go of commercial products that actually did me no good and switch to organics vehemently.

Weeks ago, Miss Joy of Skin Temptations sent me a soap, berry cream and a bottle of Grape seed oil. I was really glad as they are all organic so it would be great to be able to try them. I got really excited as it would be my first time to include an oil as part of my skin care routine. I have been enthusiastic about it that I skipped my moisturizer and subbed the oil to its spot in my regimen so as not to 'over moisturize'.

Anyway, before I go down to my verdict with this product, let me share to you some of my research regarding its benefits for the body.

Grape seed oil regulates oil production and is full-packed with nutrients such as Vitamin C. It's also considered as an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. It is also used to treat acne, wrinkles, dry and itchy skin, age spots, sun burns, chapped lips, hair loss, stretch marks, dandruffs and premature skin aging. Just imagine a little bottle with all those hard working components! Now, we're never curious why Grape seed oils has been frequently included in lots of cosmetics, skin care and body care products!

The formula comes in a typical cute amber glass bottle with a dropper. This makes the application easy and hygienic. It has a sticker label and the logo of the brand which can easily be removed. Should the sticker be a bit irremovable, packaging is a winner.

The oil is clear, thinner and more lightweight compared to other carrier oils like castor oil which is thick and heavy when applied on the skin. However, it's still oil that triggers oil production despite it being lightweight and can be absorbed easily by the skin. It smells okay too with a hint of grape on it.

Application: I apply it (instead of my usual moisturizer) every morning and every time I go to sleep to reap maximum results. This is a multi-functional oil so I can also apply it almost every part of my body like my face, hair, hands, and feet.

Although it's organic and has lots of nutrients in it, using this for over weeks tend to break me out. I do not blame it on the oil though as it's characterized to have low chance of clogging the pores (1/5). I have a very oily and pimple-prone skin but sometimes I also think that I have sensitive one. I used the bottle after some chemical peel and maybe this isn't great for maintenance since all my pimples came back. May hiyang factor just got lost somewhere after peel so maybe my skin needed some time to cope with in time before I use another product.

Although this product caused me to breakout, there are still this 85% of my body that needs grape seed oil badly. This is good for the hair if you want to get rid of dry and frizzy waves. I also use it on my hands and feet until now and they were never this smooth and soft before. It helps relieves stress and pressure from a day of hard work and moisturize all my parched pelts too. Aside from that, I include it on my DIY's like facial masks and scrubs and it works really amazing.

VERDICT: This is a product that is worth your every penny. Try it and see why beauty bunnies love Grape seed oils and why it's actually one of the best oils for the skin! I highly recommend it to girls and guys out there who have been suffering from skin dryness.
