Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil 30ml Review

Here's another product review that is long overdue. Today, we'll talk about Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil 30ml. This was given to me by my aunt from Canada and I have been using it since January of this year. This is the first time I'm going to use a skincare product from this high-end brand.

I don't know much about Emma Hardie, so I checked the site and found out that this facial oil alone costs about ₱‌2,900. I rarely use and buy skincare products this expensive so thanks to my aunt, I get to try it for free. :D

According to the packaging, Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil is a light-weight, multi-active everyday facial oil complex, containing 9 essential oils of Palma Rose, Orange, Mint, Vanilla, Geranium, Camomile, Lemon, Rose and Lavender that help to condition, hydrate and smooth the skin's texture.

Also includes 5 plant oils, Grape Seed Oil, Apricot, Almond, Olive Oil and Sunflower Oil that contain Omega 3, to help restructure the skin and promote elasticity and moisturize. Also including the unique Camelina 'Gold of Pleasure' oil for its powerful anti-oxidant properties to protect the skin from free radicals.

I am quite overwhelmed with the abundance of oils in this single luxurious tiny bottle of skincare. On  the other hand, it made me more excited to try this product knowing that my skin will absorb such goodness.

This was basically the first time I am trying out a facial oil ever so I am both scared and excited. I have very oily skin, characterized with very large pores and am also acne-prone. I had bad experience with oils before where I use them for a DIY mask and my skin just ended up with clusters of pimples all over. It was a terrible breakout, so then I promised not to slather oil on my skin ever again. And then the era for oil-based products became a trend and I knew for a fact, that at one point, I had to try again. And probably, hope for the best.

INGREDIENTS

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene, Geraniol, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citronellol, Linalool, Bht, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citral, Farnesol.

Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil can be used on its own but you can also mix it with other products such as moisturizer and foundation.

The product has a golden color, comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. The scent is very citrusy. I don't exactly hate it, but it's too strong for my liking and very perfume-like.

Product has a runny consistency, spreads well and evenly on the skin and leaves a shiny, hydrating layer. Well, it's oil basically, so I kind of expect it. It feels light and non-sticky on its own, but when mixed with moisturizers or other products, it becomes a bit greasy. I have very oily skin so you can only imagine when my natural oils mix with this product. LOL. I could afford looking like a slick ball at night, but obviously not when I'm out. I think this product will be really beneficial for those with dry skin though.

This product makes foundation easier to spread, but my skin tends to look a lot oilier during midday. My foundation seem to move around as well and build up on the folds of my skin. It's hot and humid here in the Philippines so that's also another factor that affects the longevity of the foundation I wear.

I don't want this product to go to waste, so I had to endure the oiliness of my face whenever I use this. I know that oils are good even for those with oily skin too so tiis-ganda lang talaga.

On the brighter side though, this facial oil didn't cause my skin to breakout. I also noticed that it helps with redness and smoothening out existing blemishes. I like how it keeps my skin looking glowing, smooth and supple whenever I wake up. A very small amount is more than enough for my entire face and this bottle would surely last me for ages.

It's been 3 months now, and my bottle is still about half-full. I don't regularly use this product now because I have serums and moisturizers that I am currently road-testing. However, on days when my skin feels tight and in need of extra moisture, I tend to seek the help of this product.

I haven't used any facial oils before so I have nothing to compare it with. It isn't exactly a favorite or a holy grail, but I still recommend it if you are looking for a facial oil that's light and would help moisturize your skin and make it look healthier.

Well-moisturized skin is the one of the primary keys in younger-looking visage and Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil has lots of beneficial ingredients that targets skin aging.

Best Uses of Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil

Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil
Price: P299 (100 ml) | P174.75 (50 ml)
Bought from: Human Nature

You've probably heard it from your moms and grannies that oils in general are compounds that are beneficial for the skin. So here I got myself a Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil that's one of the brand's bestseller. It was recommended by a colleague and so then I purchased the largest container available. At first, I was hesitant how I'd use it because I'm not really comfortable using oils given the fact that I have extremely oily skin and the weather we have here in the Philippines just makes things more incompatible. I also get adverse reactions whenever I try to incorporate oils in my routine. Name all the oils notable in skincare and I've probably tried it all but always ended up wasting them or putting them to other uses away from my face.

Still, that doesn't stop me from trying which is why you should let me share with you what I think of this Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil and how I use it.

CLAIMS

According to the brand, this product is 100% natural, is hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. It's also recommended to people who are targeting dull and dry skin because of its brightening and moisturizing properties. Also rich in nourishing Vitamins A, D and E, this holy grail has earned its place as a well-known and well-loved miracle worker. Aside from that, it's labeled as an oil that has whopping 25 miracles that works wonders from head to toe!

1. Overall body moisturizer
2. Helps lighten dark spots & pimple marks
3. Helps lighten and soften underarms
4. Helps make eyebrows thicker
5. Helps prevent & lighten the appearance of stretch marks
6. Helps improve appearance of underarm chicken skin
7. Helps lighten lesions and scars
8. Helps soothe skin after waxing
9. Helps lighten dark undereye circles
10. Helps hydrate dry patches on face
11. Undereye moisturizer
12. Softens feet soles, knees & elbows
13. Removes stubborn makeup
14. Helps diminish fine lines around the eyes
15. Helps soften cuticles & dry skin
16. Makes skin glow and helps keep it youthful-looking
17. Helps improve skin condition after sunburn
18. Helps relax tired, puffy eyes
19. Adds shine to dull hair
20. Helps relieve itch & redness caused by insect bites
21. Nourishes & conditions eyelashes
22. Helps ease dry & itchy scalp
23. Smoothens dry, rough skin from shaving
24. Helps calm skin & ease rashes
25. Helps relieve symptoms of skin infections

PACKAGING

I really love the overall look of the product and I think anyone would agree that the design is very dainty. It also has all the information that you'll be looking for such as the claims, ingredient list, direction for use and expiry date.

It comes in a pump bottle so it is very easy to use though I don't think you can bring it and stock up on bags and luggage without leaking through the pump. You may opt to decanter a few amount on a completely enclosed bottle.

SO HOW I USE IT?

Most of the benefits mentioned above requires long-term use and still depends on the compatibility of your skin to the product. Nonetheless, you can count on this oil to moisturize and hydrate very dry skin anywhere in your body. It's inexpensive so you won't find it very wasteful if you slather a lot on your skin. I sometimes dilute it with other moisturizers when I feel like I need extra hydration for my soles and palms. I would also pump a very small amount on my palms, rub it in and apply to the hair for some shine and it works to provide moisture for a long time. I also mix several pumps on ready-to-use hair spa products for extra nourishment and my hair will look sleeker and softer after the treatment.

When I ran out of makeup remover, I opted for my Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil as a makeup remover. It won't remove waterproof makeup with ease but is perfect as a cleanser for light makeups while making your skin look plump and healthy. Do take note to wash your face right away with a facial wash to avoid nasty pimps especially if your skin in not very compatible with oils (like me!). Luckily, it did not clog my pores and I don't think it will because according to a test conducted, it  passed the comedogenic scale and doesn't contain pore-clogging properties. You may read the article here. I don't wear foundation nowadays when it's just work I'm going to, but I still use oil cleansers as a first step in removing dust, dirt and oil from my skin especially now that pollution and commute are tough and real.

I think one of the best practices I do with this product is applying it as a calming moisturizer after waxing my armpit. Also, I would at least, twice a week, would pump a generous amount on a cotton ball and cleanse my armpits to remove all traces of dirt and sweat, deodorants and dead skin cells accumulated overtime. You know it's working because you will see traces of dirt on the cotton balls once you swipe it with a little pressure. It lessens odor, at the same time, removes all kinds of impurities that makes skin look dark and dull. Doing this will give you a clearer, softer and smoother underarms!

This product is not named as a beauty oil for nothing. It's a product that you think you don't need but comes very useful when you have it. If you love essential oils so much, it would be best to also include carrier oils like this in your stash to dilute the product into to lessen the concentration and avoid any adverse skin reactions.

With this, I hope it's clear that, yes, I highly recommend this product from Human Nature and will definitely repurchase! Oops, I'm into my third bottle already actually!

Review | Skin Temptations Grapeseed Oil

This year, I've been active with my Instagram account. From there, I was introduced to a lot of IG shops that formulate and sell what they claim as products that are naturally-made and are all organic. I got rocked and eventually vowed to let go of commercial products that actually did me no good and switch to organics vehemently.

Weeks ago, Miss Joy of Skin Temptations sent me a soap, berry cream and a bottle of Grape seed oil. I was really glad as they are all organic so it would be great to be able to try them. I got really excited as it would be my first time to include an oil as part of my skin care routine. I have been enthusiastic about it that I skipped my moisturizer and subbed the oil to its spot in my regimen so as not to 'over moisturize'.

Grapeseed Oil 20ml
Bought for: Free

Anyway, before I go down to my verdict with this product, let me share to you some of my research regarding its benefits for the body.

Grape seed oil regulates oil production and is full-packed with nutrients such as Vitamin C. It's also considered as an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. It is also used to treat acne, wrinkles, dry and itchy skin, age spots, sun burns, chapped lips, hair loss, stretch marks, dandruffs and premature skin aging. Just imagine a little bottle with all those hard working components! Now, we're never curious why Grape seed oils has been frequently included in lots of cosmetics, skin care and body care products!

The formula comes in a typical cute amber glass bottle with a dropper. This makes the application easy and hygienic. It has a sticker label and the logo of the brand which can easily be removed. Should the sticker be a bit irremovable, packaging is a winner.

The oil is clear, thinner and more lightweight compared to other carrier oils like castor oil which is thick and heavy when applied on the skin. However, it's still oil that triggers oil production despite it being lightweight and can be absorbed easily by the skin. It smells okay too with a hint of grape on it.

Application: I apply it (instead of my usual moisturizer) every morning and every time I go to sleep to reap maximum results. This is a multi-functional oil so I can also apply it almost every part of my body like my face, hair, hands, and feet.

Although it's organic and has lots of nutrients in it, using this for over weeks tend to break me out. I do not blame it on the oil though as it's characterized to have low chance of clogging the pores (1/5). I have a very oily and pimple-prone skin but sometimes I also think that I have sensitive one. I used the bottle after some chemical peel and maybe this isn't great for maintenance since all my pimples came back. May hiyang factor just got lost somewhere after peel so maybe my skin needed some time to cope with in time before I use another product.

Although this product caused me to breakout, there are still this 85% of my body that needs grape seed oil badly. This is good for the hair if you want to get rid of dry and frizzy waves. I also use it on my hands and feet until now and they were never this smooth and soft before. It helps relieves stress and pressure from a day of hard work and moisturize all my parched pelts too. Aside from that, I include it on my DIY's like facial masks and scrubs and it works really amazing.

VERDICT: This is a product that is worth your every penny. Try it and see why beauty bunnies love Grape seed oils and why it's actually one of the best oils for the skin! I highly recommend it to girls and guys out there who have been suffering from skin dryness.

Mini Loot from Skin Temptations!

It took a while for me to write about my recent loot from Skin Temptations. Anyway, finally, I got the time to give my first impression posts about some of their products which was given to me by Ate Joy (thanks sis!). She even left a note asking to accept her gift. How sweet of her! Actually, it's my pleasure to try and write my innermost thoughts about her latest creations.

If you read my previous posts, you'll know that I'm into organic and naturally-made products that's why I'm following lots of them on my Instagram account. I've actually made a mental note to myself to hoard each of them even though there are a whole plethora of options. Just a big thank you, I was given the chance to try Skin Temptations skin care products.

Anyway, let's just randomly discuss the what I've got here! Just a simple warning, you might love everything as they are all worth raving about!

The biggest one in the loot is the Black Bites Bar (PHP100) , the product which instantly caught my attention. It comes in black color and the moment I saw this, I just can't wait to try it! Just give me another week so I can post a full review about it. I seriously wanted to gush about my experiences but not now! Not yet. Hihi!

It claims to give the skin superior whitening and gradual renewal without redness and irritation. It also exfoliates dead skin cells through its resurfacing crystals and willow bark.

Actually, this soap looks promising and it's big enough (135g) for a month of consumption. No breakouts yet, so far, so good! And it smells delicious too!

Th second one is the grape seed oil. I've never tried any beauty oil before since I thought it could trigger more oil production. That's the least I wanted to happen on my face as of the moment, you know. I can't afford to apply oil and eventually start to think of my face as something so unsightly.

However, this Grape Seed Oil (PHP160) is pretty amazing. No breakouts so far. I did not get an oil slick every time I use this (though there's still oil development after hours). It just leaves a sheen finish on my face after application. I guess this is a good sign that my hiyang factor goes to this! Just give me few more days to make my verdict whether it's something that I would want to include in my beauty regimen.

This is the last one from my loot and it's a Berry Kiss Cream (PHP80) that is advisable to use on both lips and cheeks. I am actually a fan of products that acts as multi-taskers like making cheeks flush and adding some natural tint to lips like this so I was really glad that I get to receive one from Skin Temptations. Although upon first use, I can say that it's perfect for my cheeks but not for my lips. It dries to moisturizing matte creme finish but it tends to accentuate dryness on my lips. I'm going to try this on my cheeks for a few more days and see if I get some breakouts. Mind you, my cheeks are very sensitive. Moreover, I find the scent a little bit off-putting but isn't bothersome at all.

All in all, most of their products looks promising to me, looking forward to try their lip balms and soaps soon when I emptied my previous purchases since I don't want them ready to throw away unused.

So yeah, that's all! Stay tuned for full reviews! Wanna try their other products? Go and visit their Instagram page! Don't forget to subscribe too. Happy blogging!

Love,
Hanna
