Strip-It Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser 100ml
Bought for: P130
Bought from: Strip It Sugaring
I have a few makeup removers left, probably still enough for a couple of months use but I decided to order another makeup remover from Strip-It just because I find the packaging so chic. Admit it, it's quite Instagram-mable, isn't it? Also, I had to cart another item together with the Sugaring Wax to avail the free shipping option. Hehe! I had nothing against the price range--it's indeed budget-friendly though I had some things I would like to point out. Keep on reading for the full review!
Claims
It contains soothing aloe vera, pore clearing tomato extracts and moisturizing Argan oil; soap-free; moisturizing (softens skin); soothing; anti-bacterial; clears and minimizes pores; can be used with a cotton ball or rinse with water.
The claims are pretty simple and you won't have any troubles believing what it says. For a makeup remover, I'm surprised it doesn't claim to remove deep-seated dirt, remove every last bit of makeup and oils...you know the usual things claimed for the sake of advertising. For that, Strip-It suddenly gains my trust.
Packaging
The overall design is undoubtedly cute, it even reminds me of how Snoe's would come up ideas with their packaging materials. For its price, you already get 100ml of product in a pump-type bottle that dispenses product easily. The white cap shuts tight with a click and on the bottle, you can see directions and claims. I noticed that Strip-It products does not display either the manufacturing or expiry dates and even the complete ingredient list which kinda troubles me. I hope they improve on that.
Texture, Consistency and Ease of Application
This makeup remover comes in a cloudy liquid, runny in consistency and requires a lot of product during application. It has a very subtle scent which isn't bothersome at all. I like that the formula is very hydrating and can either be removed with a cotton pad or water without leaving an oily, slippery layer. It just completely gets washed off together with light makeups, oil and dirt.
The photos clearly shows how this product works. I had to test it with waterproof products--brow color, gel liner, mascara and two long-wearing liquid lipsticks. In this way, we can gauge whether or not Strip-It Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser is tough in removing makeups.
I apply a generous amount of cleanser and leave it for about a minute before wiping it off with a clean cotton pad.
It barely removes makeup in two swipes.
I apply another layer and wait for a few more minutes to allow the makeup remover to warm up and adhere to the makeup even better. As you can tell down below, it still failed to remove the makeups even with several swipes. The redness from several tugging failed to show but yes, I had to scrape my skin gently to remove the makeups.
So for my verdict, this product ain't tough and not something I would turn to to remove waterproof mascaras and gel liners. However, if you are more on BB creams, pressed powders, tints and light makeups of all sorts, you can simply do with Strip-It Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser. It is very gentle on the skin and does not sting the skin and eyes too.
There are a lot room for opportunities and improvements for this product though for the meantime, I wouldn't say I would repurchase as I have micellar waters that still do everything and more than what Strip-It can offer.
Let me know if you already tried and tested Strip-It Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser. Would love to have a chat with you down below!
