Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water Review

Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water, 300 ml
SRP: $18.50 | Around P1000
Also available in 50 ml (around P500) and 150 ml (around P750) cans

When I was in grade school (about 10-12 years old), we had a neighbor who brought me a bottle of Evian Brumisateaur Spray and it took me months before I decided to use it. It was too late because I figured out it has expired a long time ago. Now that I know how much a single can cost, I could only hate myself for being so ignorant back then (lol). I was already familiar with drugstore products during that time but it was my very first time owning something in an expensive-looking can that's basically only has water in it. I was clueless on what's so special about it. Just why did I not know what I know now!

I bought the biggest can from an online seller who's trying to declutter some of his unused but brand new stuff and I was lucky I got the last can at such a great price. The seller has lots of positive feedbacks from previous transactions and all of them claimed that his products are all genuine. I only added up to his satisfied customers!

Packaging

Product comes sealed and also has a really huge information booklet attached and it has literally everything you would want to know about this product (written in both French and English). Even from the body of the can itself, you'll know a lot of stuff about it, making it even more enticing to use on a daily basis. I just have this weird hobby of going over and over product's information to kill time while I'm applying the product itself to my skin. I don't care even if it's for the first or the twentieth time. I don't know the psychology behind it, but the more I read the labels, the more I enjoy and believe its wonders.

The 300ml can is such a great amount for household use. Everyone in the house can take turns in using it though it's an absolute hassle if you bring it to your getaways. Purchasing the smaller can would be a smarter move.

The atomizer is great too. Pressing and dispensing product is real smooth and it ejects fine mists in wide angles enough to cover a large area of the skin.

Texture, Consistency and Ease of Application

The product consists of nothing but pure water. What made it special is it's unique and rich composition of only the pure Avene Thermal Spring Water and Nitrogen (what's pushing the stuff out). The water came from France and is being treated with utmost TLC just as much as how we take care of our skin. It also has a long history that even dates back to the 18th century. The product is dedicated especially to those with sensitive skin as it was used even way back for the healing and treatment of a lot of skin conditions like atopic dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema, to name a few.

Avene Thermal Spring Water has low mineral content which makes it effective in softening and soothing the skin. The water dries as fast as how normal waters would but compared to typical mineral waters, Avene is non-drying and surprisingly hydrating to the skin.

Performance

I was extremely breaking out the past couple of months so I resorted to gentle skin care products. I also decided to buy Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water to soothe and calm my skin as everything I put in seems to sting a bit. I know that stinging can be an indicator of how damaged my skin is. After a week of religious use, my skin felt softer and calmer. Although I still have ripe breakouts everywhere, Avene seemed to help restore the sheen on my skin. My skin looks more well-rested and plump and breakouts were less itchy. I also am using it as a toner and moisturizer after cleansing during some days when I want to minimize my routine. I find that giving myself a day or two of zero-makeup and less skincare heals my skin even faster.

On a daily basis, I make sure to spray on my Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water before and after applying my makeup to keep my skin hydrated and my makeup intact. It does not do much in terms of longevity, but I love how it works to prevent cakiness and a flat matte finish.

I wouldn't characterized my skin as sensitive but because I have super oily and acne-prone skin, using gentle products like this really helps in calming breakouts, faster healing and preventing long-term damages too. I would surely repurchase and I couldn't wait to recommend this to my friends who have sensitive skin!
