How's everyone doing? Good? Perfect! So not too long ago, Celeteque, which is known to be an effective drugstore brand of skin care, has took the leap in producing makeup as well while incorporating some skin care benefits to it. Who wouldn't like skipping a skin care step once in a while just because you have something to save your time? Not me, especially when I'm on a rush to work. Good thing, I have here something that does multiple things to my skin: hydration, coverage, sun protection and anti-aging properties.

CLAIMS (as per Sample Room)

Céleteque DermoCosmetics CC Micro-Hydrating Powder features an autogrinding technology that gives you an ultra fine and hydrating powder that quickly blends and evens out skin complexion. It controls oil and shine while keeping skin radiant and well-moisturized. It also has SPF 30 to provide double sunscreen protection.

How Céleteque® DermoCosmeticsTM CC Micro-hydrating Powder Works:

• Hyaluronic Acid replenishes and retains moisture for long-lasting skin hydration
• Slica controls the excess oil to give a silky, soft and matte finish
• Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E) hydrates and nourishes skin keeping it healthy.
• Oil-controlling, hydrating

PACKAGING

The packaging for me was very simple but very neat and functional. The plastic is kind of sturdy too çause I dropped it accidentally one time and it did not break. It also has the manufacturing and expiry dates at the back and I was surprised that it would still be as good after three years though I doubt I'd still have it by the end of this year.

To open the product, you just have to press that small protruding button. Inside, you will see a full-size mirror (peel the translucent sticker to get a clearer view). It comes with a puff which I don't think is perfect to use with loose powders since it tends to pile up powder on the face unevenly, thus the cake-y look and everything. I prefer my RT Brush to scoop up the powder and gently dust it on my face to get an airbrush look.

I believe that this product is just like a normal pressed powder but because of the sharp grinders that when you rotate counter clockwise, it produces finely-milled powders. Don't worry if you over rotate, 'çause you can simply twist it vice versa to fix the remaining powders.

SCENT

I can't really describe the scent -- you know I'm so bad at this--, but it smells subtle and never overwhelming. I doubt that those who are very sensitive to scents will find this in any way off-putting.

SHADE

This product comes in three (3) shades, I believe--Light Porcelain, Classic Natural and Deep Beige--with undertones perfect for Asian complexions. I got the the Classic Natural from Sample Room. I think the shade that I got is a tad darker than my complexion and somewhat give me that pale look unless I put some blush on. Also, this product tends to oxidize on my face once I oil up and turns a wee darker. I think the Light Porcelain would look better on me since I badly need some bright glow and if that oxidizes, my face and neck's color would still match anyway lol.

PERFORMANCE

The powder has a light, soft and creamy texture that blends out easily on the skin and does not give any chalky feeling which makes it a perfect match for those with dry and normal skin types. Since this is a loose powder, it gives skin that shine-free look instantly but does not feel matte at all. Because of the hydrating and anti-aging properties, this product is created to be moisturizing on the skin, thus, failed to control oil for hours. In my case, I easily oil up as fast as 30 minutes. Good thing, this does not feel sticky at all in this humid weather.

The coverage as you can see on the picture is sheer to medium. It gives off a matte BB Cream finish so you won't have to layer a foundation under--which is something I don't advise anyway, since this will just make your skin look patchy. Most of the time, after I use my toner, I just dust this powder on my face and I'm all set. It hides hyper pigmentation easily and makes skin look more even so there's no need for me to opt for heavy foundations. What I do sometimes is set it with a thin layer of transparent powder to make it more matte and long-lasting.

I would say that this product is non transfer-proof since it instantly clings to absorbent papers once I blot out my face. Sometimes, especially during intense hot weather, this tends to slide off my skin together with oils, you get what I mean? It's disappointing but I still like that it has anti-aging properties and did not break me out. The best thing about it is how it makes my skin look fresh  and radiant when it blurs pores and evens out my skin tone.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I am seriously having a love-hate relationship with this product. It fails to control oil but the hydration, coverage, sun protection and anti-aging properties are something that I would not trade for anything else. This might be a little pricey but it's worth a try, believe me.

Have you tried Celeteque Dermo Cosmetics CC Micro-Hydrating Powder? Any thoughts?
