Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Review

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser
Bought from: Watsons, SM Manila
Bought for P299

Many well-known bloggers commend Maybelline Pore Eraser for it acts like a primer that blurs out imperfections, specifically large pores. At first, I thought it was really a primer but the saleslady I asked for information about this product said that Maybelline produces no primer at all. I was like, oh yeah?

I was thinking of getting this pore eraser months before but I just cannot spend P300 bucks for a primer. I don't know what's with the sudden change of mind though.

Anyway, review proper, the packaging is so cute, I'm in loved with mint-colored stuff! It also comes in a squeeze tube with small pointed nozzle that dispenses products well. Just like I always say, I'm a big fan of products-on-tube because packaging-wise they are more safe for travel than if they are made of glass.

Pore eraser has a gel-like consistency, clear in color, just like most primers in the market. It very much reminds me of QuickFX and Banila Co Primer but this one has a thinner texture. It also dries fast and into a soft and lightweight finish.

Ingredients, claims, and instructions

During application, you only have to apply a very small amount. In my case, a quarter portion of a pea-size is already sufficient to my face and neck. What I usually notice is my face turns brighter and even better a canvass than without this. I could not precisely tell if it makes my makeup last longer because I have super oily skin and foundations tend to oxidize fast, prolly faster than anyone I know with oily skin. So...I can't really tell if it works in that department. Maybe a bit, maybe not. I guess it's really a champ in providing a good canvas though as it does not make my foundation tacky or cakey, whatsoever.

I also like that it has no foul smell or what. It also does not break me out and because it does not break me out, I think this product will not clog pores either. On the other hand, this product does not control shine for a longer period (only a max of an hour in my case with commute).

There is a much more affordable primer, the Quick FX, very similar to Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser, and though it's hard to compare and contrast, much less to choose the better one, I would still prefer Quick FX for its price. Still, this does not change the fact that I fell in love with this pore eraser.

I highly recommend it to those who are in a tight budget like me but does not want to compromise quality. Hey, school girls! I feel ya. Can you recommend any affordable primer? I'm thinking of Elizavecca's!

Tried this? Thoughts? Happy blogging!
