Ever Bilena Daily Sunblock Whitening Lotion

You can easily discern heat and humidity in tropical countries whether it be summer or any season. That's just how extreme heat could be, thus sunblock is necessary. And currently, sunblock for summer is what I am watching out for--affordability is a criteria of course! But due to frequent disappointment from trying out cheaper sunblocks in the market (which do not meet my expectations) made me more finicky especially to product formulation.

Anyway, on my last visit to SaveMore, I searched for some daily sunblocks which I could use for my OJT since it would be a long commute from Valenzuela to Makati and I'd definitely get exposed to sun that much. I spotted it on the lowest shelves on the skin care section and it retails for only P180, guessed it would be a catch. If, in anyway, it's another disappointment, then I just had to keep reminding myself that it would still end up on my to-review list.

Ever Bilena Daily Sunblock Whitening Lotion, 100ml
Bought for: P180
Bought from: SaveMore; also available in leading supermarkets, department stores and drugstores nationwide

This product comes in a tube--my most favorite skin care kind of packaging because squeezing is just as easy as counting one to three plus you get to easily control the amount to dispense. And it's hygienic, may I just add.

All the claims are clearly enumerated above. So the question is: Is it true to its claims?

But first off, I wanted to checkout the ingredient list. To be honest, I did not dare reading the information at the back of the product prior to purchasing because my mom was quite in a hurry so yeah, I just grabbed it and decided to just further check it out when I get home. It's come what may.

Gosh, I have easily spotted some harmful chemicals (Parabens!)!

Another thing I really can't believe is how it deceived me so easily with the huge UVA and UVB Protection label when it's not really indicated in the packaging the SPF level of the product. Seriously, I can't find it anywhere! Should I whack the tube open now? I feel so terrible for not realizing it earlier. Had I figured it out, I never should have bought it in the first place.

It has a creamy consistency, like a whip cream except this one is thicker and more viscous. And it's definitely greasy to the touch. I cry. The very first time I blended it on my palms, oh, boy, I knew it would be greasy, the kind I would not EVER like to use during summer when I perspire a lot and in desperate need of a lightweight and easily-absorbed formula.

For review purposes, I gave it a try. I don't want to sound like it's all obligation but my disappointment is just overflowing while I am typing this blog post out. I tested it for two weeks and I badly want to just stop.

The photo above shows the product in a slightly blended state. It's streaky, creamy white and due to its thick consistency, it took time to seep through my pores. My patience was explicitly tested. On a lighter note, it could be a brightening lotion for you, guys, but make sure to fully and patiently blend it.

White cast clearly clings to the folds of my palm. Everytime I applied it to my body, my pores seem to double up. It does create obvious streaks on my skin which is something I have been forgiving about but the greasy feeling tormented me big time so still, it's a no-no.

I don't know of its sun protecting abilities but I haven't been under too much sun lately yet I could say that my skin brightened up after two weeks of use.

I'd say this is still worth your try. I do not fully give my highest recommendation though. But who knows, right? This might be the best daily sunblock for you!
