Swatch and Review: Loreal Paris Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation

I love most, if not all, Loreal base makeups as formulation are Philippine weather-friendly and are suitable for someone like me who has oily skin and scars to cover. I think the only flaw that's a huge deal for many is the fact that they are not completely cruelty-free. Other than that, their base makeups have been holygrails to me, that I'm proud to admit. Which is why when Loreal launched this newest foundation to their Lazada shop, I carted it right away and debited my payment. No regrets!

CLAIMS

Be Unstoppable. Introducing our breakthrough longwear foundation with breathable-skin technology. Up to 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation provides medium-to-full buildable coverage that lasts all day and allows the skin to breathe. The formula's three oil absorbers resist sweat, water, and transfer. Non-comedogenic and formulated with SPF, this foundation is suitable for all skin types. In 30 shades for every skin tone.

PACKAGING

Foundation comes in a glass bottle, similar to the Stay Fresh variant and has a sleek black pump and a safety red cap. It looks and feels very high quality except you can't expect it will be safe for travels. One pump is enough for the entire face and neck so I assume a bottle would last me months.

SHADE

In U.S., shade selection is pretty good with thirty shades to choose from while we only have eight available in Lazada: 20 Ivory, 120 Vanilla, 125 Natural Rose, 130 True Beige, 140 Golden Beige, 150 Radiant Beige, 200 Golden Sand and 250 Radiant Sand. It seems like it has become an instant bestseller as most shades are fully sold out at the moment.

I had a hard time choosing what shade to get as per Loreal's shade matching, if you're a 104 Golden Beige in Pro-Matte, you should get the 140 Golden Beige in Fresh Wear. On swatches provided, 104 Golden Beige is way darker so I opted for the 125 Natural Rose which isn't exactly my shade either. It's still a bit darker but I know I couldn't opt for the next shade lighter because that would be, well, too light. I think I'll probably get my exact match if I mix the two shades. Anyway, I can work with 125 with a brightening powder.

125 Natural Rose has a warm undertone and is great for those with light skin tone. Coverage wise, this can be buildable from medium-full. Check the hand swatch for your reference, veins are less noticeable in just one layer. I would suggest you use a damp beauty blender for more coverage or if you would like a more airbrush finish, opt for a flat top/buffing brush.

TEXTURE, CONSISTENCY AND EASE OF APPLICATION

The formula has a runny consistency and is very lightweight when applied as if you have nothing on.  Thanks to the oxygen technology--this product is very breathable. Comfort at its finest, indeed. It dries to a matte finish but despite, it's still hydrating and not flat. If your skin is more on the dry side, you can use a luminous primer and make sure to prep with good skincare prior.

This is exactly what I need in this kind of weather we have here in the Philippines. I love the fact that I can layer it without it caking or being patchy. Moreover, everything I put on next blends seamlessly.

LONGEVITY

It's indeed long-lasting. I don't wear makeup for full 24 hours so I can't really tell if Loreal Paris Infallible 24H Fresh Wear is that long-wearing. However, it's able to withstand a total of 4-hour commute back and forth and 9-hour working period with a few retouch (oil-blotting) right here and there. It lasts up to 6 hours on its own which is pretty much commendable for someone like me who has super oily and acidic skin. It oxidizes a bit during that time but not as extremely as other drugstore foundations would.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

I don't have that much pigmentation to conceal in this photo but you can tell from above that my skin is more even and the base is looking very much like skin but fresher. It's true that there weren't any masking effect and the shade eventually matches my skin. I like that the foundation does not cling to my dry patches and fine lines. It's that kind of foundation that looks good when it's freshly applied and gets better in time. This product claims to be non transfer-proof which isn't exactly true especially when it starts to melt together with the natural oils of the skin. It's a very minor flaw though and I wouldn't mind as long as it stays put on the skin and won't move around.

One of the things I find notable, by the way, is the scent. It does not reek of typical foundation scents. This one has a slightly floral fragrance which is like a breath of fresh air. I think it's the only foundation I have in my stash that is fragranced. I don't mind but if you are someone who's got a different preference, get ready to be disappointed.

Overall, I am so in loved with Loreal Paris Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation to the point that I think I love it better than other Loreal foundations I admired before. I thought the claims were all too good to be true but they're not! I would highly recommend this product to everyone who's looking for a quality foundation without the heavy price tag.

I love mascara so much. Much more if they can withstand my oily lids and don't wear off quite fast. I have tried a lot of drugstore mascaras (the only ones I can afford lol) and most of them made me look like I've cried hard enough that my mascara got washed away down to my waterline and bags. It's uncomfortable to rub my eyes when I had mascara on so I'm pretty sure that isn't exactly the reason why mascaras smear on me. I'm 100% sure my oily lids are the culprit. But it's not like my lids could adjust, right? Technically, it's just finding the right makeups to complement your skin type. I'm glad I tried this latest from Loreal: Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara. You might not read this whole blog anymore because by now, you might've figured out that this is a great product for me. Though I suggest you keep on reading still because I have to point out a few things you wouldn't want to miss about it.

The last Loreal product I was obsessed with (until now) was the 24H Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation and this is my next holy grail. The mascara reminds me of the famous Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in terms of that sleek blush pink packaging although given the price point, I would still say the Loreal's much better. I could get 2 of this and would still be able to save a few bucks.

I know you are very familiar with drugstore mascaras, mostly the ones from Maybelline and Loreal because most of the time, they come in washable and waterproof forms and even comes in different shades of black and brown. I got the waterproof formula and in 204 Blackest Black because I love long-wearing, bold and voluminous lashes. I just wish I can get the washable formula too on days when I don't feel like dealing with tough to remove makeups haha!

The wand is long enough to pick up product from the bottom so you can ensure there aren't any waste. I don't know why if maybe because this is a new product, but the formula inside are still more liquidy (but not runny) than other mascaras I have bought before. You can tell because the formula is still shiny black and is easier to apply. The short and well-distributed bristles surely help to avoid clumping and having those spider web-like lashes.

One coat is enough to get bold yet natural-looking lashes. Unlike other mascaras that would only dry after a heck lot of minutes, this mascara dries just almost as instant without any weird mascara scent.

This product isn't exactly waterproof as it claims. Sure, it's really hard to remove on the lashes even with eye makeup removers so it must be really a long-wearing product. It also doesn't get completely washed off when I do a quick dip in the pool but it tends to smear. That doesn't make it waterproof. Although I have to commend its longevity because even when I sweat and my lids oil up, the mascara pretty much hold the curl firmly and does not weigh it down. It doesn't smear too on dry surface and that's what all that matters especially it's a pain to find makeups that would put up with my oily skin.

The wand of this mascara almost look like BTSM's though the latter is more curvy. I like that it's long though because it reaches even the tiniest of hair on my lashes. I'm just so glad this product exists! If you want to achieve voluminous lashes without spending a fortune, this should be your go-to. Although this won't replace the length and volume of falsies, it's a perfect mascara for every day use.

Loreal Makeup Haul During Lazada's 6th Birthday Sale

So just last April 25, 2018, I had to endure staying up past midnight to take advantage of this much-awaited sale, with the help of my occasional caffeine fix of course lol. I picked up a few makeups from Loreal and had a separate checkout to take advantage of the additional 15% off for purchases over P1000. I was so excited for this haul because it's a combination of makeup pieces that I am just so excited to try and replenishment for old stuff I like such as the Loreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Pressed Powder and Infallible Total Cover Foundation.

True Match Skin Color Matching BB Cream SPF 35 PA+++ (P260) - I'm just quite intrigue how this BB Cream would blend on skin considering that it comes in only one shade that claims to fit and match all skin tones.

True Match Blur Cream (P260) - I have always had huge open pores so mainly to tone them down and compliment the BB Cream, I thought of getting one for myself.

True Match Ultra-Pigmented Liquid Concealer in W-1-2-3 Fair/Light (P195) - I'm not really a concealer person but ever since I developed scars from recent chicken pox infection, foundations seem to not work anymore. I thought of giving concealers a go.

Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara (P325) - The newest addition to Loreal's makeup line and by the time it was launched, every beauty gurus were talking about how majestic this mascara is.

Infallible Total Cover Liquid Foundation in 302 Creamy Natural (P420) - I have purchased the lightest shade before which isn't a match for me so I decided to buy another shade and hopefully I could make it work this time.

Infallible Pro-Matte Pressed Powder in 200 Natural Beige (P360) - I have always loved the Pro-Matte Foundation and always use this to complement it. As I ran out, I'm thinking of repurchasing and on my upcoming review, I'll be sharing with you what I love most about it.

I have been having troubles sleeping a complete 8 hours lately so I’m not in the proper state of mind to write reviews when I barely rested for a good 4 hours or even eat a healthy diet properly. I’m just too weak and tired and colds and cough didn’t help either. But I got to be productive and so here’s a short review about the Loreal Micellar Water I have been using lately to remove what used to be fresh makeups that just oxidized and turned greasy.

Ideally, cleansing is an essential step to effective skin care and also the primary key to prevention of bacteria and dead skin cells buildup and breakouts. I don't say cleansing does all the job but for me, I'd rather skip most skin care steps other than this. It's just so important for me that I never sleep with makeup on. Believe me, even when I don't wear makeup, which is pretty much most of the time, I still use cleansing wipes or micellar waters to get rid of dirt and oil buildup before I lather a gentle facial wash.

This is the only drugstore micellar water that I have tried apart from my favorite Leiania Micellar Eau De Fleur, P600 (one of the natural and organic products in Ms. Favia's skincare line). This is to say that I haven't had much experience with micellar waters for me to have something to compare Loreal with. The latter effectively removes makeup easily and is so gentle on the skin that I badly want to repurchase had it only been priced so affordably. Also, I don't have any idea if Leiania still has that product continuously manufactured and distributed to date. I have yet to ask Ms. Favia. Anyway, it's been a pleasure discovering another drugstore gem that I could always count on whenever I'm on a tight budget.

Performance

I skipped all through my usual review categories and just decided to squeeze in all my thoughts here just because I can't say much about the packaging except it's nothing fancy yet backed up with all necessary information a product should have. It barely reeks of anything too. Just like most micellar waters, it's literally water in every aspect.

To test how effective this product is, I use this when I had my full makeup on using a piece of cotton wool. I'm using The Face Shop Designing Eyebrow Pencil, Loreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, Cover FX Blotting Powder and Makeup Revolution Eye Palette for this look.

Using just a single cotton wool and some Loreal Paris 3 in 1 Micellar Water, I was able to remove half of my makeup as it was not obvious anymore on the picture. The mascara was really a pain to remove so I had to press the cotton wool for a few seconds on my eye area to soften the mascara first. Removing all my makeup wasn't super easy like the micellar water would blow away every residue in just a swipe but it wasn't super hard either. There was a bit of pressure and tugging and it took me two cotton wools to fully cleanse my face which is pretty much normal for makeup removers that really works.

After cleansing, my face looks really hydrated, clean and soft. There was no stinging sensation either or any negative reactions after several uses. I have been using this product once a day for three weeks now and I haven't even used up 1/4 of it which means that it can go a long way too. Do take note that I don't have much water resistant makeups and I only do full makeups occasionally so it still would depend on the amount you are using everyday.

Overall Thoughts

Loreal Paris 3 in 1 Micellar Water is a really worth a try. It's very gentle on the skin, easy to use, affordable, and would suit every skin type! I can't say anything more but definitely highly recommended and I'm looking forward to repurchase.

Starting this year with a review on a product that is probably my best find the previous year. Why just now? I have to do some road test on the foundation first to make sure it wasn't just the first-time-so-it-is-amazing notion that fascinates me. You get what I mean--we think a product is nice the first time we use them and just seem to suddenly lose its fitting as we get used to it? There, that's why. I'm perfectly aware now though that this product will be one of the front liners among all my foundations and will be one of my options to use during momentous events!

Here's what the product claims:

Up to 24H matte without the flat. Air-light texture. Demi-matte finish. The pro look of long wear. Achieve a matte finish that won't fall flat with this air-light, long-wearing liquid formula. Lightweight and creamy, foundation goes on smooth with a demi-matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours--hiding imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion. - Loreal

Packaging

The product is housed in this slim squeeze-type packaging (with seal) which I adore for it's something handy that I can bring during travels without the worry of it getting broken. The tube has this translucent body cover wherein the foundation can peek through from the inside so if you are buying it from stores, then you can easily have an idea which shade to pick. I can also easily control the amount to dispense with that slim nozzle. I like that it displays all necessary information such as claims, directions for use, ingredients, etc.

Shade

The shade that I got is in 104 Golden Beige which appears a tad light for me based on the packaging but surprisingly fits my complexion better than I thought in action. I actually bought Loreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation way back in 2016 and I got the shade 103 Natural Buff which is way too far from my skin tone (also appears peachy on me) so I didn't have the opportunity to use it for full makeup. When Lazada went on sale last December, I knew it's my time to pick a different shade that I presume is nearer to my complexion with 103 as my reference. It was really hard considering that Pro-Matte line only came up with few shade selections. According to Loreal website, they only have 12 shades to choose from. The good thing about it though is that most of it have warm undertones which is predominant for Asian skin tones and which is a but a downside for those with cool undertones.

Texture, Consistency, Ease of Application

Loreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation has this light, almost runny consistency that tends to drip like that of Maybelline Fit Me Matte Foundations so I know it will be very lightweight on the skin which is true enough. The product dries easily with an air-light texture and matte finish so if you are applying it on your skin, make sure to act fast.  One thing I notice with fast-drying foundations with matte finish is that they tend to look streaky and cake-y but I didn't experience anything like that with this foundation. I can also say that the foundation blends just as nice either with the use of a stippling brush and sponge (dry or wet) and you won't have problems distributing the foundation at all. Using a brush yields a sheerer coverage though.

Performance, Longevity, Coverage

Let me tell you a story. When I bought this foundation, it wasn't me who road tested it first. Ate Mitch (a colleague), borrowed it from me when she saw my Instagram post where I featured this foundation in my haul.  One day, she arrived at the office and I noticed that her makeup was flawless. I asked her if that's already my foundation and she said yes. The finish was really nice and she can't help saying she's impressed as she already walked a long way to office and her makeup still looked very decent. A lot complimented her makeup as well that day. I let Ate Chari (another colleague) borrowed the tube that same day and she was equally pleased with the result. The next day, I tried the foundation for myself and received the same feed back. I was personally pleased with how smooth my makeup was despite the fact that I was breaking out and my skin's not on it's best condition.

Coverage wise, the foundation was blendable from medium to full coverage with the help of other makeups. For that pretty coverage, I use my deluxe size Hour Glass Mineral Veil Primer I got from Sephora, a damp Real Techniques Miracle Sponge and Cover FX Blotting Powder which are all for my base. With only one drop, I was able to completely cover my redness and pimple scars. Please do take note that they were not that huge and pigmented though. I don't suggest adding another layer too as it may lead to patchiness, if you are to do so, use a damp sponge so you can easily distribute the product.

It looks very nice and photogenic without the white cast.

Its longevity is a winner (again, this is with the aid of few other makeups). I had my makeup at 8:00 P.M. all set. Usually, my face needed to be blot after 2 hours (approx. my commute time too) but I arrived to work with my makeup still look like it's just applied. I took an early out at around 12 midnight that day and all my makeup needed was some dust of powder and it looked good as new. I went eating with my friends until 5:00 A.M. (no retouch at all for I left my bag at work so there's minimal fading and oxidizing) and I noticed that my face was really shiny all over but the makeup was still pretty much intact. Even my cheap blush on survived! Woah, that was already a huge feat to begin with!

I rarely had my makeup on for 6 hours but this is already 9 hours from the time I set it! So I try to blot excess oil by the time I get back to the office at 6:00 A.M. and I know I had to reapply blush on which I didn't do yet 'cause I need to sleep. I can't go home still 'cause I will be meeting up my old friends in college at 11:00 A.M. Just imagine how hard my makeup needed to hang on until I get home lol. So I slept at work and woke up at 9:00 AM and I can still see my makeup, but it has oxidized completely a shade darker. By the time I went to SM San Lazaro at 11:00 A.M., my makeup did not feel as comfortable on the face as I had it on earlier. After noon, it felt oily and greasy to the touch that I badly want to take a wash right there and then. I couldn't so I just dab some powder to make it through. Basically, I had the foundation for 19 hours. 19 HOURS! Just say that it was still wearable for 15 hours and that's totally amazing! I never had a foundation that lasted that long, even my high-end ones.

Overall Thoughts

This foundation really works amazing that you don't have to have that professional blending skills to achieve a very decent full makeup. The result is a smooth, natural, even-toned finish that's matte and lightweight and is comfortable for daily use. It's also one of the few foundations that is friendly for those with oily skin and does not move even when not set with powders. For its price, you're really getting a quality at par with high-end ones and I'm totally hooked. This is worth every raves and is highly recommended.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

Just recently, I've been completely out of my mind when I hoarded a lot of drugstore foundations without even thinking if I would be able to use them before they pass their expiration date. Lol. I guess this is what usually happens if you suddenly get addicted to something haha. One of which I bought was this Loreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup in shade Light Ivory or W2. I just can't wait having my very own bottle after reading so many rave reviews about it.

SHADE

The shade that I got is in Light Ivory or W2 (meaning it is for those with warmer complexions). It's not exactly my shade and appears to be a wee bit lighter than my actual skin color so even though it claims to match skin tone, at first, I did not believe because how could a lighter shade match a darker one, right? But I can't do anything because that is the only available shade when I planned on buying one. To be honest, I'm really having a hard time looking for my shade in most foundations. They either tend to be too yellowish or too peachy on me. In short, they do not blend nicely. Surprisingly, Light Ivory looks okay on me so I think it's true to its claim.

Anyway, this foundation from Loreal has shades intended for those with warm, neutral and cool undertones so there's no way you'll ever fail finding your perfect match.

PACKAGING

While its packaging looks unique coming in a screw cap, I must admit I am having a hard time getting the product as it does not have any pump or any sort of easy dispenser. What you have to do is to really tilt the bottle to get a good amount. It's either you get enough or you get more than what you needed so just be careful. With it being stored in a glass bottle, I don't ever think of bringing this with me should I decide to go out of town.

TEXTURE / CONSISTENCY / EASE OF APPLICATION

The foundation itself has a very runny consistency compared to other foundations I have tried and dries into matte. It is so easy to blend whether you use your fingers or sponge. I don't think though that you can use brushes in blending the foundation because (may I just warn you that) it easily dries up after a few moments and could end up really streaky. I tried using my Real Techniques Foundation Brush and it does not look fine at all. I haven't tried blending it though with brushes that have softer bristles.

COVERAGE

I would say that this product has a sheer to medium coverage. In my swatch down below, you will see that I already have two layers on but there are still pimple marks that are wildly peeking through. I also tried covering lipstick swatches with this foundation and look how it effectively reduces their appearances.

LONGEVITY

This foundation oxidizes on me after a maximum of 4 hours. It does not bother me because I can see that the shade eventually matches my skin color, thus, looking more natural. I can tell that the foundation pretty much still adhere to my skin even after going back home (8-12 hours) and that's a relief given my super oily skin.

PERFORMANCE

What I like most about this product is that it's non-greasy and is super lightweight on the skin. Sometimes, I don't mind forgetting layering a powder over it because it just feels comfortable and I can feel that my skin is still breathing no matter how much you put on. Since I have oily skin, its matte finish really is beneficial to me. On the other hand, I don't think it would match those with drier skin because this product tends to emphasize dry patches or flakiness so you might want to put some moisturizer on because blending this foundation on your face.

With this foundation, fresh look is super easy to create. Once the product sets in, you can already enjoy flash photography because despite its SPF content, it does not create white cast.

PRICE POINT

I can now see why this is one of the most-coveted foundation that even after a lot of brands release new products, it still keeps it popularity all over the world. However, I would repurchase only if I it's only in its discounted price because I do not see any other point spending huge for a drugstore brand when I could buy those much more affordable ones and road test them if they are at par.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I like this foundation so much and I highly recommend it to those with oily skin like me. In this hot and humid country, you might want to prefer wearing something where you could breathe and be comfortable and I'm glad I have found this product. I'll be reaching more of it this summer and I'm gonna ace that fresh look even though the weather's making me look haggard.

It's April already and I need to keep up with my schedule for blogging. I was supposed to publish three posts by this time already but looking for a new blog template kept me busy. I already spotted something I would want to purchase so I need to have to load my Paypal soon. Anyway, this time I will be reviewing Loreal Paris 24HR Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation, the counterpart of the cult-fave Pro-Matte for those with dry skin. I like it when foundations have different formulations intended for different skin types! Whoo!!!

Packaging: Pro-Glow Foundation comes in a squeezable tube (like the Pro-Glow) with a precision nozzle that allows me to easily control the amount to dispense. It has a color block-like design where the middle part shows the exact shade that you are getting. This type of packaging really helps a lot because it saves us time though you really have to swatch the product prior to purchasing since foundation would look really different when blended to what it actually looked from the tube itself.

It has a span life of two years as printed on the tube.

Scent: I do not detect any awful scent, but even without reading the list of ingredients, I know this product has alcohol in it. I actually don't care because it does not in any way sabotage the product's effectiveness.

Shade: The shade that I got is 207 Sand Beige (with a neutral to pinkish undertone) because I have the Revlon Colorstay Makeup in Sand Beige. This is not the proper move because upon receiving the parcel (I ordered Pro-Glow online), I figured out that the Revlon's Sand Beige is lighter than Loreal's. Turned out, Loreal's Sand Beige is of equal match to my skin tone (a darker Sand beige to the Revlon's) when I should get one shade lighter foundation since I have oily skin where makeups tend to oxidize.

I'm in the shade Golden Beige for the Pro-Matte, but because the shade range between Pro-Matte and Pro-Glow are different, I find it hard to pick which shade best suits me. I am not worrying anymore though because Sand Beige is a match for my complexion and all I have to do is buff a lighter pressed powder to somehow aid in the oxidation of the foundation after hours.

Texture and ease of application: The foundation has a runny consistency as it tends to glide on my skin when dispensed. It does not have that thick formulation, hence, it only offers an air-light and non-greasy feeling upon application. It is also easy to blend seamlessly with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

The product claims to give skin a hydrating glow but I think it would not, particularly to its target market (dry skin), because it dries semi-matte on me and I have super oily skin! That is something to take note about please. Well, to be honest, I think this foundation can be for those with oily skin too given its shine-free and lightweight finish.

Coverage: I would say that the coverage if pretty much buildable from sheer to medium with two coats of foundation as swatched down below. Even after two coats (I rarely do two coats unless I really wanted to have a more flawless complexion), blemishes and scars are still peeking through. So it's safe to say that Loreal Paris 24HR Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation does not have full coverage so if you prefer that than natural-looking skin, then this is not for you.

Longevity: This foundation has a normal lasting power, probably 5-6 hours at max but not 24 hours. It does not bother me very much as setting it with a layer of powder helps in making my skin look natural but better.

To be honest, aside from getting the right-est shade for me, nothing is too spectacular about this Pro-Glow foundation. It retails almost as much as the Pro-Matte variant but I would still repurchase Pro-Matte because of the better coverage, lasting power and finish.
