Cleopatra's Secret Micro Exfoliating Rose and Milk Soap Review

Microexfoliating Rose and Milk Soap
Bought for: Free | SRP: less than P100
From: Cleopatra's Secret PH

Recently, I discovered an organic soap from Cleopatra's Secret PH and it's called Microexfoliating Rose and Milk Soap. Because I have always liked the word 'microexfoliating', I was so eager to do a test run for this soap from one of the booming online shops which deals all-safe and natural products for bath and body needs. I kind of like the branding because Cleopatra's skin care regimen and beauty secrets are very popular among all men and women all across the world. Some of the beauty ingredients known today were even popularized by the Queen herself. So I guess, me missing some of these (products inspired by the beauty rituals and practices of Cleopatra) which are even more convenient to have now is something of a big deal.

PACKAGING

Cleopatra's Secret PH came up with very simple packaging yet appeals very personalized. It feels like gift because it's wrapped in a paper and is secured well upon shipping. It also displays the main ingredients but I would like it better if the claims are indicated at the packaging as well as it's expiration and manufacturing date. The soap itself is hard and does not easily melt on soap dishes.

HOW I USE IT

Since it is summer time, I like to stay under the shower a little bit longer and more often than usual. I wash my body twice a day now--one sesh for soap with towel and then wash it again with soap alone. It may sound like I am overdoing my skin care, but yes, I am lathering the soap on my skin at least four times a day. That's why I am too fast to consume soaps, really. I like to leave the soap on my skin for at least 5 minutes before rinsing off so the product would really work. Just keep scrolling down for more information!:)

PERFORMANCE

This soap smells just fine to me, lathers really well and is non-irritating. I did not feel any itchiness or irritation even though I let it sit on my skin for minutes. It can also be non-drying provided that you don't let it sit for a while of course unlike other soaps I have tried before that's really drying no matter what the circumstances are. Though I could not vouch for significant lightening of complexion, I could say that after every use, my skin becomes smooth and soft, brightened and more radiant without peeling and the likes. I seldom break out on my back or shoulders but recently, I'm having those and thankfully, this soap did not worsen them or trigger any more infections.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

If you want alternatives to drugstore soaps or want to eventually switch to organic and natural products, I would recommend you try this soap from Cleopatra's Secret PH. I just don't think I would repurchase because aside from my will to try out different products in the market, this soap does nothing more than what I have mentioned above. However, just like what I have said, it won't hurt trying this because it is mild and gentle on the skin and not to mention, it's safe and affordable.

So what do you think of Cleopatra's Secret Micro Exfoliating Rose and Milk Soap? Any comments? Suggestions? Happy blogging!

Have Some Refreshing Skin Treat With Cleopatra's Secret Makeup Detox Face Mask!

Makeup Detox Face Mask
Bought for: Free | SRP: P165

CLAIMS

Without question cosmetics are a great way to conceal blemishes, enhance beauty and boost outward appearance. However, make-up usage can take a negative toll on your skin.

1. Zinc oxide, dimethicone and propylene, etc create a thin build up on the skin. The oils and sweat can become trapped under the build up and cause pimples.
2. Mineral make-up containing Bismuth Oxychloride. This ingredient can cause irritation that leads to peeling.
3.Too much make-up can prevent skin from breathing and tanning evenly. The result is a dull toned and unhealthy looking pale face.

Makeup Detox Face Mask by Cleopatra's Secret:

✔clear the makeup buildup trapped under skin
✔soothes irritated / inflamed skin caused by makeup allergies
✔replenish loss of minerals in the skin and to remove excess oil.
✔helps remove dirt, excess oil and debris from deep down pores.

DIRECTION FOR USE

1. Wash face thoroughly and gently remove all traces of makeup with a gentle makeup remover. (Optional: open up pores by holding your face over a bowl of steaming water for 1-2 minutes).
2. Apply face mask. Wait until dry. Remove the mask immediately once dry with warm water.
3. Apply toner. Don't skip this part. This shrinks your pores and locks in all the benefits of your mask. Finally, apply a bit of your favorite moisturizer.
4. Use once a day for 3 straight days. Use 1-2 times a week for maintenance

I am the person who is not fond of doing mixtures of mask, applying it to the skin and waiting for who knows how long before rinsing or removing that thing on my face. In short, I hate high maintenance skin care routine. I know that face masks are essentials to great skin but I just find 'mask-ing' unendurable and inconvenient if I could just simply, well, use the basic three-step routine (cleanse, tone, moisturize). My stand against face mask suddenly turned from boring to exciting upon trying out this super refreshing detox face mask from Cleopatra's Secret PH!

PACKAGING

Product comes in a square opaque white jar and even comes with a lid but the product still tends to spill on the corners. It's not a problem though as long as you place it upright. Since it is lightweight and does not come in a fragile glass container, I can bring it to places if I want to. I believe this is the smallest size as it also comes in a bigger jar with 100ml of product inside and retails for only P265.

SCENT

It has a refreshing cool minty scent which I adore so much unlike some clay masks that have barely there to no scent.

TEXTURE / EASE OF APPLICATION

Masks in powdered clay form seems to be very trendy nowadays. I have seen a lot on Instagram, almost same in textures just in different containers and scent. This product has powdered pigments and by the looks of it, the pigments are not at its finest so they are a little abrasive on the skin. It has pros and cons due to its texture. One advantage is that it can also be used as a face scrub other than being just pure mask. However, be careful not to over scrub as you could irritate your skin.

If you were able to look closely, there are tiny white pigments mixed to it and when you pour water and mix the product, they seemed to grow in size and look like soft peeled skin and is enough to act like scrubs to buff away rough skin.

PERFORMANCE

The refreshing scent and cooling effect is sufficient in buffing away all day's stress and lets you have a super duper relaxing moment. It's like having spa at home without spending huge. I like how it gets rid of any rough spots on my face and make it softer, smoother, clearer and healthier-looking. Just recently, I stopped using makeup (just for a while) because the temperature's so hot and I just can't stand the greasy feeling of foundations on my skin so I'm pretty sure there's less dirt, oil and makeup residues to get rid of. However, just like any other detox masks in powder form, it sticks to my face and I have to remove the rest of the product with a cotton ball soaked with toner. I just love how my face looks afterwards--definitely clearer and brighter! I may not be able to see it but I can feel that my pores are tighter and much cleaner. Also, this did not break me out! Its claim to reduce oil is something I can't vouch for because I still secrete huge amounts of oil minutes or hours after I clean my face.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Before I cap everything off, may I suggest that if you happen to try this product, go in front of electric fans or air conditioner or at least try to fan yourself to maximize the cooling effect. I swear you would love it! Among all the clay masks I have tried before, so far, this is a favorite. Now I am looking forward to more mask sessions! Whether you have dry, oily or sensitive skin, I think you will really enjoy the benefits and effects of Cleopatra's Secret Makeup Detox Face Mask.
