Bare Skin CC Cream (Color Control) Review

Bare Skin CC Cream
Bought for: Free | SRP: P99
From: Bare Skin (Rowena Los Banos')

Claims: Bareskin CC Cream ( Color Control) is a cream contains elements that make your skin feel fresh and give it an extra smooth, even texture. This cream created to revive sallow, sore-looking skin on the face. It is not the best option for those with greasy and problem skin.

I got really ecstatic when one of the best organic skin care lines for me, Bare Skin, asked me if I want to review more of their newest products. I said yes of course and was even more delighted upon receiving a CC Cream, Body Mask and Soap inside the parcel as I have been hearing good reviews about them online (especially the body mask which is supposed to be the next Bare Skin Product that I will be reviewing). Hearing the organic world and its emerging brands, who once started from creating their own skin care lines, produce local organic makeups just made me evem prouder being a Pinay.

PACKAGING

I really like the packaging since it comes with a screw cap and is housed in a travel-friendly squeezable tube which reminds me of gloss packaging and which dispense products quite easily. Also, it has complete ingredients and description on the sticker so you will know what you are actually putting on your skin.

TEXTURE / CONSISTENCY / EASE OF APPLICATION

The product looks like a tinted pink mousse cream and is soft to the touch. Lightweight in consistency, it is easy to blend on the face without leaving streaks or augmenting cakey-ness. Thus, it can be a good makeup base to be applied under foundation without the heavy feeling. If you don't want foundations or other base makeups, you can just layer this product alone for a natural glow.

LONGEVITY

Unfortunately, this product does not withstand my oiliness and could last only a maximum of 3-4 hours on my face so if I feel like washing my face in the middle of the day, I would reapply this product again and set it with a powder to make it last longer on my skin.

SCENT

This CC Cream has a very subtle powdery scent which I like.

PERFORMANCE

I am used to CC Creams which start looking like an opaque white cream (like the one from Etude House) then slowly becoming tinted once blended. So I'm kind of surprised that this CC Cream from Bare Skin stays true to the shade even after blending out. However, it is a good thing that this product is tinted pink for it actually brightens the face without that too much flush. It really gets rid of the plain and dull skin I get after washing my face. I'm kind of surprised with this color correct abilities so I'm encouraged in using it everyday especially this summer when the weather's so hot and my skin can't withstand the heavy and greasy feeling foundations give. This may give only a very subtle coverage but it really does give that fresh-looking and bright complexion.

This product has no SPF so you might want to layer an SPF-based products underneath. Using it everyday yields me no breakouts, tiny bumps, rashes or any skin problems of any kind. Yay! It also claims to be not the best option for those with greasy or problematic skin which I disagree because I have super oily skin type and this product does not trigger oiliness at all!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I highly recommend this Bare Skin CC Cream to everyone out there who wants safe makeup that is lightweight and gives skin that natural glow for a very affordable price of P99 (yes, only P99!)! This product comes in one shade alone and could suit whatever skin type and skin complexion you have. Don't worry it knows how to adjust. ;)

Bare Skin also have BB (Blemish Balm) Creams, PP (Pink Protect) Creams and DD (Daily Defense) Creams apart from this product. Sounds amazing, right? Would love to try them soon! Cute little things!

Any thoughts on this CC Cream from Bare Skin? Does this interest you?

(as per Sampleroom)

Ingredients:

If you want to ask me before I tried Cathy Doll Speed White CC Powder Pact whether I like liquid foundations more than pressed powder, I would surely say yes. I haven't tried as many as I did with liquid foundations, but this pressed powder here seemed to be on my top drugstore powder pacts already and even replaced some foundations I've grown to love in the past. In fact, I bought my mom one and she's loving it as much as I do! It comes only in two shades: #21/Light Beige and #24/Natural Beige. I know Korean products cater mostly to fair-skinned gals so I'm quite lucky to have been able to find a shade that somehow matches my skintone. I'm a bit worried though if the darkest shade (which is not dark at all) could still be utilized by those with darker complexion.

Please don't squeak so loud when you see the packaging. Just how creative are the ones who designed Cathy Doll Speed White CC Powder Pact box and the pact itself? I have no idea! Gosh, I never liked pink but I do now! The product, as you can see, has a pink cover/lid (which I use to see how my hair looks everyday! Shush! It's a secret!) where you can see yourself. Ha! Just look how I awkwardly posed just to get this shot. Lol.

The container is sturdy, very handy and lightweight. However, the letters on the sleek cover tends to get removed during friction. I suggest either you store it with the box or put it on a cushiony pouches every time when not in use.

As you can see, this product has a shelf life of three years but I know it wouldn't take me that long because based on my calculations, I'm going to hit the pan after a month and you know that it's because I am using it everyday.

The compact has an accompanying soft sponge stored in a separate compartment. I don't have issues with it though except I prefer brush or the sponge I use to apply my foundation during morning applications and would only use it for retouch in the afternoon. I don't like dirty sponges for setting my makeup.

The product itself is a delight to see with that cute cursive Cathy Doll word engraved on the powder. As you can see, the product is too light for my complexion (unfortunately, Sampleroom only offers the one in light Beige before) but I still use this because it easily blends with my complexion and I'm not having issues with the finish it provides. It looks a bit light for me at first but after a few minutes, it looks like my skin but brighter. However, if you have yellow undertone, I suggest you get the shade in #23/Natural Beige though just to be sure. Mine's playing on the neutral sometimes so I think I could go on either one of them.

The product's scent could be a little off-putting to those who are sensitive to particular fragrances. It does not bother me though. I could use anything as long as it is not unbearably awful.

Just like what I have said, this product blends easily on the skin and has a smooth finish. Despite it being a pressed powder, it does not look pale and too matte on my skin probably because of its luminizing effect. I checked that it has Mica on it  which is best known for its brilliant and shimmering appearance. However, longevity wise, this is a bit of a letdown. What set me back is the fact that it does not control my oil for up to two 12 hours. I had high hopes in that department because this is the only pressed powder I know that is brave enough to claim something so nonviable. In the end, I figured out that I still haven't found the pact which would answer my oil problems. To give you numbers, this product looks fresh for only 1-2 hours. But I have to consider the weather which is seriously warm and humid. On a lighter note, I could easily do retouch and my makeup would look good as new without cakey areas.

I am using this product everyday over my liquid foundation and I guess it pretty much sets my base well. Another thing I like about it is how it could stand alone on my face (on days when I let my skin breathe from foundations) and I could still look fresh and radiant, just with minimal coverage. What's important though is how this product easily keeps haggardness at bay. Also, this product, despite its high SPF content, does not cause me to severely breakout.

To cap things here, I would say Cathy Doll Speed White CC Powder Pact impressed me so much (like so much) with its brightening effect but not with its oil control properties. It just doesn't work with my super oily skin. Nonetheless, it's affordable, easy to use and so cute to look at. I would be repurchasing though should I fail to find another pressed powder that will not only give a brightening appearance but a shine-free skin for hours as well.

Leiania House of Beauty BB + CC Glow Creme with SPF30

I love wearing BB (Blemish Balm) Creams everyday. They me a more natural look compared to foundations while they instantly hide minor blemishes and spots on the skin. Anyway, introducing... the Leiania House of Beauty BB + CC Glow Creme with SPF30, another innovative product of Leiania House of Beauty infused with organic and natural ingredients for a healthy skin treat!

The product comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a pump dispenser making the product easy to dispense on a preferable amount. However, I find it a little bulky to fit pouches (unless you really have big makeup pouches). Packaging wise, all the needed information are displayed on the sticker attached to the bottle--manufacturing and expiry dates, ingredients, detailed information, even some proof of authenticity.

If I am not mistaken, Leiania House of Beauty only have one shade for their BB + CC Creme which, I can tell even with my beginner eyes, is a match for fair-skinned gals. This made me sorry for medium and tan-skinned beauties. I was first a bit hesitant myself upon trying it out because I was pretty sure it would not look good on me, that I might look like a clown afterwars. People labeled me out in fair but with a yellow undertone so this BB + CC Creme still could be out of tune. BUT I WAS WRONG.

As you can see, the product is a tad lighter than my usual skin tone, so, at first, I thought it would just create a pretty awkward white cast on my face but the formula is so easy to blend and adjust to every skin tone pretty quickly. It's texture's just like a moisturizer and isn't too runny nor too thick. My pores absorbs it quickly without leaving some sheen on the face so you can picture how my oily skin is starting to love this product. It dries to a somehow matte finish, by the way and is VERY lightweight on my skin.

That being said, it hardly conceals blemishes, reddened pimple and acne scars, pores, etc which might not be a problem for others but a problem for me as whenever I apply it, I know I still need the magic of a concealer. On a lighter note, I kinda prefer BB creams that yield a natural-looking skin and even skin tone and would not give me a look like a have layers of coverage. This is the perfect fit so I guess, this product is still a great one.

See how natural-looking it is! Just make sure to blend it well while it is still there as it may be hard to blend when already dried.

I like that it gives me a more brightened and glowing skin without the risks of having harmful chemicals like parabens as it's all formulated with all natural and organic ingredients that would protect skin from harmful substances! Also, it smells nice with a vanilla kind of scent!

What I like:
  • Does not cause me to breakout
  • Non-greasy
  • Smells nice
  • Organic and natural
  • Has SPF 30
  • Moisturizes
  • Brightens
  • Even out skin tone
  • Affordable at P410
  • Lasts for hours

What I don't like:
  • Light coverage
  • Does not really control sebum production for long
Neutral:
  • Packaging (I'd love it even more in tubes.)

Obviously, the pros overrides the cons which made me think that Leiania House of Beauty BB + CC Glow Creme with SPF 30 is worth repurchasing! Hope you all had a nice day! Til my next blog post! Happy blogging!

Love,
Hanna
