December 2017 Product Empties

I've been too lazy with skin care last month, to be honest, so I find it a miracle why I still entirely consumed some of the items in the picture above. I know this for a fact, that for being a beauty blogger, skin care regimen is not something I should take for granted. But I'm just like everybody else--forgetful, sometimes idle to complete my skincare steps I, in fact, did myself. I promise to focus more on wellness and health this 2018 and to strictly follow the steps that works for my skin type to at least avoid clusters of breakouts. Anyway, here are the items emptied last month together with the links to full reviews or features!

3. Bench Daily Scent Sunday Morning
4. Jergens Daily Moisture Lotion
8.  Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Formula

And that's it! What about yours? Let me know what are your favorite products that you just emptied by commenting down below! Happy new year, every one!

Ending 2017 With New Goals

A few minutes before 2018 starts...

And here I am contemplating whether or not I publish this post because I can't figure out where to start or what to say. My heart is overflowing with emotions that I can't seem to let go of my life in 2017. It was full of happiness and heartbreaks, endings and beginnings, experiences and regrets...but here I am, again, moving forward, determined to make my 2018 a better year.

A few minutes before 2018 starts...

Can you allow me a moment to express my sincerest thanks to whoever has been a part of it? To my family, whom I stayed with all my life, who never left and will never be, who motivates me most to work hard and dream big. To my one true love, who's my perfect opposite, my best companion, my past, my present and future, the only man who understands and supports me. It's funny how I still have you despite all my flaws and imperfections. Thank you for saying I'm worth it. To my friends who love and cherish me, who think I'm nice and believe what I don't. To Gold Almighty: I've never been this grateful for all the blessings you showered me, for giving me all these people as my strength whenever I'm falling apart. I'm sorry for all the times I disappoint you, but I'll always live for you no matter what.

A few minutes before 2018 starts...

Let me set some new goals--okay, this might break the silence--but I promise to change all my bad habits including my spending habits, to aim for productivity and excellence all the time, to have a strong heart to take a risk, to improve in every aspect and to just live a life I wanted.

Now, I'm ready to bid my 2017 good bye. You have been so awesome.

New K-Beauty Product: Seoul White Korea Instant White Tone Up Whitening Milky Cream Review

Seoul White Korea Tone Up Whitening Milky Cream
Bought for: Free with points | SRP: P299/20g
Bought from: Sample Room

Why is it that Korean products so inventive with skin care? Just recently, I learned about tone-up creams, why they are called that way, how they are supposed to function, without even realizing I have encountered quite a lot of them since I was on my teenage years. I have already tried lots of K-beauty moisturizers that does more than moisturizing and hydrating the skin: their primary function is more on faking that bright, white complexion. Most of them comes in opaque white creamy texture that, if your have fair skin to begin with, can enhance brightness and balance skin tone which is what tone-up in Korean lingo means. I have to highlight that phrase because I find that creams like this are insanely tricky to apply--some of them might appear either awkward or natural if you're lucky. Another good example of a tone-up cream is this new Seoul White Korea Instant White Tone-Up Whitening Milky Cream which I just got from Sample Room.

Active Ingredients

This product contains a combination of three (3) potent whitening ingredients: Arbutin Bearberry (Korea's new Kojic Acid and is responsible for skin's pigmentation), White Strawberry (works in protecting the skin against sun's harmful rays and buffing away dead skin cells) and Donkey Milk (works to nourish and moisturize the skin), together with numerous ingredients working together to achieve a Korean glow.

Packaging

Housed in a slender squeeze-type tube with a combination of pink and white theme, I find that it's really chic and travel-friendly. The slim nozzle is hygienic to use and dispenses the right amount of product easily. It also displays all necessary information such as the ingredients, claims, directions a expiry dates--so those who is very curious about the product itself will definitely get something from it.

Texture, Consistency, Ease of Application

Just like most Korean tone-up creams, it comes in this opaque white whip-like texture with a subtle sweet scent. Although the cream is lightweight, there might be some tugging when you try to blend it on your face as it dries easily and the white cast is just really a pain to get rid of. This product gives off a semi-matte finish so it's friendly even to those with oily skin and to those who loves a bit of illumination without dewiness, stickiness or heavy feeling.

Performance

We all know that an almond-size amount of moisturizer is recommended to get that long-term hydration we need to combat dryness and dullness of the skin. However, I tend to limit my use into a very small dollop for the cream tends to sit on my brows and hairline and can accentuate dry patches on the side corner of my nose and mouth. Also, I don't recommend that you apply a generous amount for it creates a strong white cast due to high content of Titanium Dioxide (for brightening and sun protection). An ample amount is already enough to see that instant glow the product claims to provide. I also like the fact that sits very comfortably on the skin and does not move or crease the makeup. Since it dries matte, I think those with dry skin will find it harder to blend and heavy duty moisturizer might be necessary.

Overall Thoughts

This product is worth a try. It does not give me that wow factor but I find it economical to use. It's perfect if you are hiding the fact that you didn't have enough sleep or that if you opt for a no-makeup makeup look. It helps brighten skin overtime thought not very significant for I have used it only for 3 weeks. The best thing about it is that it didn't break me out so I'm thinking of repurchasing.

White To Black Sephora Membership Status: What Are The Perks?

I have always been an enthusiast of loyalty programs just for the fact that it will give me benefits, virtual or concrete cards to collect (yes, lol) and a chance to reach a whole new level of awesome perks such as access to exclusive sales and private discounts. Truth be told, I wasn't paying attention to this before when I decided to create a Sephora account. I was just thinking of doing window shopping and stalk how much a cult-fave, high-end foundation could cost me. It made a really big deal when they had this sale last October 2016 wherein White members get 15% off the total purchases and Black members get a whopping 20% off instead. Had I become a Black Member prior, I could have gotten my Mario Badescu Acne Control Set (originally priced at P3350 something) at 20% off instead.

Celeteque Dermo Science Hydration Facial Moisturizer With Triple Moisturizing System Review

Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Facial Moisturizer
Bought for: Sale at -P100| SRP: P140
Bought from: Unilab on Shopee

I'm pretty sure we've all heard about this famous Celeteque Dermo Science Hydration Facial Moisturizer being one of the cult-favorites in terms of consistency and hydration. I, myself, have to witness how this surprisingly affordable product can make a difference on my super oily and pimple-prone skin. Knowing Celeteque since I was in high school, I'm pretty much aware that their products are all hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, thus gentle on all and even on sensitive skin. I don't think other Celeteque products from their skin care line work at par with other gentle skin food from Cetaphil or Physiogel (based on experience), but I consider this moisturizer right here a cut above the rest. Spoiler alert: I'm in loved with it and I think repurchase will be very much necessary!

Packaging

Just like most Celeteque products, it comes in a very simply-made type of packaging--in a squeezy-type tube and contains necessary information such as claims and expiry and manufacturing dates. The list of ingredients is written on its accompanying box which I threw away a long time ago for it was severely squashed during transit. Overall, I like the packaging for it is hygienic to use and is travel-friendly.

Texture, Consistency and Ease of Application

The product comes in a transparent hydrogel formulation that blends easily with very minimal to no effort. It feels very watery (of course it's water-based lol) and light that sometimes I'm thinking I'm only putting water but with a bit of hydration. It dries matte on the skin and you won't even feel you have something on. This is indeed very suitable for someone like me who has oily skin and who does not need the greasy film heavy moisturizers give. On top of that, the scent is barely noticeable, therefore, it's perfect to those who are very sensitive to fragrances.

Performance

This moisturizer feels so lightweight but effectively gives superior hydration with its 'triple moisturizing system'. I am a bit confused with this claim at first, so I utilized Mr. Google and its says that it contains Glycerin, Provitamin B5 and Aloe Vera that work deep down to provide lasting relief from skin's dryness. Truth be told, even those who are born with oily skin tend to have dry patches too (mainly from using different harsh skin care products that skin may tend to react negatively). Therefore, a product that would give enough hydration without triggering sebum production is needed to compensate. And I recommend this product to answer all your woes! No wonder, my skin feels so soothed, supple and healthy after every use.

Another thing I find so amazing with this product is the fact that it can be layered under makeup without cake-y problems. It didn't break me out too but it also isn't working hard to prevent pimples from coming which I am very forgivable about, otherwise I'd get really disappointed had it been  stated as one of its claims. I have nothing against its hydrating power but those with dry skin may opt to use other heavy-duty moisturizers in conjunction.

Overall Thoughts

With continuous use, I can say that my skin looks a lot brighter and better in terms of texture. I did not completely get rid of all existing breakouts yet but they are getting smaller in numbers and it seems to help reduce blemishes and acne scars too. For only P140, you get a tube with 50ml of products and that is already enough to last you more than a month. Lightweigh moisturizers like this is perfect for our humid air and is definitely a skin savior of my oily skin! Highly recommended and will definitely repurchase!

Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Matte Moisturizer with SPF30 Review

Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Matte Moisturizer
Bought for: P150 | SRP: P230/50ml
Available at all leading supermarkets and department stores

Before I get to the point, Merry Christmas, everyone! This year has been full of blessings, new learnings, challenges and motivations that I can't thank God enough. I can't help getting emotional in retrospection of the past that molded me to be a better woman I am right now--more responsible and product-oriented. And to start with, here's a review on a product that  has been sitting on the shelves of beauty shops for quite a long time  now but the late bloomer me noticed it just a few months back.

It started when I was running out of moisturizer and sunscreen and that pave way to me searching for an affordable product that suits my very tight budget. The 'sun care' is quite interesting and the 'matte moisturizer' made it look a lot even better for only P230. And oh, I didn't even spend P230, just P150 for this because of a voucher code. It's the cheapskate in me, sorry. The verdict? This is an average product--among the typical ones with pros and cons.

Packaging

Packaging-wise, I like that it comes in a squeeze-type plastic tube but with very limited information such as the manufacturing and expiry dates, direction of use, etc. The accompanying box has all the necessary information which is not very useful right now 'cause I already throw it away when it was severely squashed during transit. I end up looking for the complete list online though. It's not as if I would stop using it if I found out harmful ingredients (which is not the case)--I just live with the habit of going over a product's list of ingredients while I carefully apply it on my skin. It just kinda make the moment more significant while you imagine all the goodness you're putting on...or is it just me?But overall, the product is very hygienic to use and looks very nice and clinical.

Texture, Consistency and Ease of Application

This sunblock has an opaque white and creamy consistency that reminds me of Elmer's Glue in terms of texture but of course, the latter is sticky lol. It has a subtle scent so those who are very sensitive to fragrances will find it tolerable. At first, I thought that it would create a nasty white cast on the skin 'cause it blends and gets absorbs well with a bit extra effort. But once it finally set it, it just yields bright complexion that looks a bit dewy and well-moisturized. Just don't over-apply so you won't end up having obvious white streaks on the face. And oh yes, it does not completely dry matte (just like how it's advertised) and it leaves a teeny bit of sheen on the skin but it's amazingly lightweight despite the dewiness.

Performance

So this product claims to have SPF30 and broad spectrum UVA/UVB Protection due to the Titanium Dioxide alone. Although SPF 30 is a decent amount of sun protection, I still prefer to use my Belo Essentials SunExpert Face Cover SPF40 and PA+++ or Beach Hut Max SPF100+ Unbelievable Light Lotion Sunblock--just among the most lightweight and affordable sunblocks sold in local drugstores. Both cost a bit more than Celeteque's but they are still better-performing in most aspects. One more thing, I did try applying this sunblock under makeup and I ended up having cake-y base.

Overall Thoughts

Having oily skin, this product is more on the dewy side which is but fine 'cause even I, still need a good moisturizer to begin with. If you are familiar with those sunblocks in the market which, in general, leaves a sticky and greasy residue and feels heavy on the skin, Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Matte Moisturizer works better, I daresay. It has a good amount of product considering its price and a little goes a long way so a tube will last you months. Even though it claims to be matte, I still think it will work just as nice to those with dry and sensitive skin for its hydrating and mild properties.

Are you thinking of trying Celeteque DermScience Sun Care Matte Moisturizer with SPF30? Have you? What do you think of this product?
