Clean Your Pores With Pilaten Black Head Pore Strip X Review

Pilaten Black Head Pore Strip, 6 grams
Bought for: Free | SRP: P10 (more or less)
From: Freebies from online purchases

Just recently, I noticed that I kept on receiving sample sachets of the ever-popular Pilaten Black Head Pore Strips as freebies from my online purchases. Since I have been hearing good stuff about them, I decided to finally give them a try although I am not really much of a peel-off-mask fanatic. Surprisingly, I am having good experiences with this product. For the detailed review, please keep on reading!

PACKAGING

The product is kept on a typical tiny black sachets with Korean (is it?) letters on it which obviously I don't read. This is why I pretty much relied on online sources for more information about it. I believe that this product comes in a bigger container (tube) and is super affordable at less than P100 a piece. Since it comes in a pocket-friendly size, I would prefer bringing it during travels so I don't get the hassle of storing bulky products and I get to save for space.

SCENT

This is probably one of the cheapest peel-off masks in the market and admittedly, I underestimated its standard at first, thinking it would smell like cheap chemicals or would even irritate my skin during the process of usage. But no, it does not have any funky smell of whatever. It in fact has a subtle fragrance on it unlike other peel-off masks that reeks of glue-like scent. Indeed, those of you who are scent sensitives have nothing to worry about.

APPLICATION

Wash your face and pat it dry. Make sure to have a clean face so the product would adhere on your skin well as oils and other dirt may prevent this product from taking a good grip of your blackheads, whiteheads and other skin impurities on your nose. Approximately two to three pea-sized of this is enough to cover the nose area fully. You might want to sit in front of the aircon or fan to hasten the drying process. There is no exact proper time of peeling it off but as soon as you feel tightness around your nose area, and the product is smooth to the touch, then it's definitely good to go.

TEXTURE / CONSISTENCY / EASE OF APPLICATION

The pore strip comes in a viscous black liquid that is easy to apply on the skin. If I may suggest, you might want to make sure that you applied the product in all areas around your nose equally and apply a generous amount of the product on your skin so the peeling process will be much easier as the mask won't tear apart or something. In my case, one sachet is good for up to two-three uses. This product is a bit messy to apply and you will waste a lot since you have to use your hands but the good thing is that, this is so affordable.

PERFORMANCE

For its price, I did not expect much. But I was really surprised that the pores on my nose seem to look more refined and clearer and I got rid of blackheads pretty fast. There was slight refreshing minty feeling upon application and it helped me relax my senses. Usually, my eyes tend to tear up every time I'm peeling off products like this on my nose area but not with this. There was less tugging and for me, the adhering ability is pretty much average but I like it that way since I feel like I'm not giving my skin a hard time.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

For me, this product is a good buy not just because of the fairly good price point but it's really is helpful in cleaning the pores on the nose area. I tend to develop blackheads and clogged pores on that part pretty much faster than any other areas on my face since that is where I perspire the most so it needs extra care. I'm glad I discover Pilated Black Head Pore Strip and will surely recommend it to everyone. However, if you still prefer the ones that have better adhesives, then you might not like this.

Anyway, any thoughts about Pilaten Black Head Pore Strip? Have you tried it? Happy blogging!

Purederm Botanical Choice Nose Pore Strips Review

Purederm Botanical Choice Nose Pore Strips
Bought for: Free | SRP: P139/each
From: Purederm

Claims: It is a one-step cleansing treatment specifically designed to unclog pores and lift away unwanted blackheads. The strip removes dirt and oil which clog pores, leaving your skin clear and smooth. You will feel a dramatic difference after just one use, and continued use of Nose Pore Strips work to tighten pores, keeping skin looking and feeling fresh. Instantly cleans clogged pores; Remove blackheads; Larger size for better use

I wasn't paying attention to blackheads before when I thought I'm all just red pimples until my first time to a facial salon. I almost teared up back then because the staff who was doing my facial kept on pushing a tool on the tip of my nose. I asked her why and she told me that I had to get rid of my blackheads for there's a lot. It was embarrassing but now I know. While I could always go back to that salon to have them removed all skin impurities, I still want to do a do-it-yourself rituals at home because I don't have all the time spending hours for pampering sessions. Good thing, I have Purederm Botanical Choice Nose Pore Strips which I can use at my convenience.

Claims, How To Use, Cautions, Ingredients
This product is formulated with Hamamellis Virginiana Extract or Witch Hazel Extract, one of the most popular natural astringent and treatment for acne for it removes excess sebum or oil on the skin. This product, however, is most beneficial to those with oily skin or those who are having drastic problems with clogged pores. This is also the reason why I had to test this product for I am oily on my nose area the most.

One box contains 6 individual aluminum packets

How the strip look like

PACKAGING

They say these nose strips come in variants but I do not know which variant I got lol--prolly the original one? The strips are house in individual aluminum packets that are lightweight and easy to carry during travelling. These even come in sachets with three strips inside (no more than P100) but I was lucky to be sent 3 boxes with 6 strips inside per box. I was just surprised to see three strips on one of the box though lol and the boxes are bulky enough to only have 6 strips inside when more than 15 could fit in.

Upon tearing off the aluminum packaging, you will see a white strip longer than a band aid attached to a clear sheet of plastic and you would need to peel it off and use the shiny part to stick to your nose. The pointed part should be applied on the tip of your nose.

Direction for use
PERFORMANCE

Do not ever forget to thoroughly wet your nose before you apply the strip on it so it will adhere better and won't slip off. There is a tendency that the strip will not stick to your nose if you do not follow everything written on the directions. It is indicated there that you should leave it for 10-15 minutes to dry but it does not take me that long anyway so as long as the strip has dried and I could not barely move my nose any longer, that means I'm now ready to peel it off. Just like most strips, it does hurt a bit once pulled out but I have tried something before that's even harder and more painful to remove. If there are any remaining adhesives from the strip, I just wash them off with cold water and they are easy to get rid off.

I don't really find the strip easy to work with, to be honest. The shape is not carefully curated to fit every shape or even flexible enough to fit any nose shape. The pointed part is a little too short to reach the bottom part of the tip of my nose. Even the sides (edges) of my nose are hard to reach areas and unfortunately, the strip barely touches them. It would be a major concern if these parts are where you have blackheads and whiteheads the most.

Upon peeling the strip, I notice that there are whiteheads and blackheads sticking to the strip which is a bit of a relief when I know I'm having clearer pores.

SCENT

This product has an overwhelming fragrance that if you are very sensitive to scents, then you might find this off-putting. I like it though. Anyway, it eventually fades away after few minutes so no worries.

Sorry na, guys! :D

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I am having second thoughts of whether or not this should be on my to-repurchase list because I still would prefer blackhead removers in the form of sticky peel-of masks. That way, I can control where I should apply them and they pull up much more skin impurities than Purederm Nose Strips does. Although strips like this are much more convenient and mess-free to use. The price of P139 is already affordable but I have in mind a cheaper and more effective alternative so I'm guessing it's a no.

Have you tried Purederm Botanical Choice Nose Pore Strips? Any thoughts? Happy blogging!
