Zoeva #104 Buffer Brush Review

Zoeva #104 Buffer Brush
Price: P938
Bought from: Sephora Philippines

Here's another brush review I got years ago but never had the chance to talk about here. It's an item I got from a brush collection that I purchased from Sephora.ph way back 2017. I liked it before and just stopped using after I adopted too many brushes from different brands. I saw this one time as I was cleaning my collection and decided to reused it and well, just like the old days, it's still beautiful and functional.

CLAIMS

Dressed in remarkably dense, but soft synthetic hair, the Zoeva 104 Buffer achieves an incredibly natural-looking and flawless makeup finish. Perfect for an all-over application and impeccable blending of foundation, powder and mineral makeup, the flat top brush head easily picks up any kind of cream, liquid or loose textures without absorbing the product.

The 104 Buffer is a vegan foundation brush with a flat profile, great for applying and blending powder and mineral makeup. Its bristles pick up both cream and powder makeup without absorbing, making even makeup distribution possible for a flawless finish.

This brush comes with a chrome handle with shimmery design and a silver ferrule. Brush handle is short but the body itself is quite chubby. It reminds me of Morphe M439 Deluxe Buffer and Sigma F80 Kabuki Brush (brush top) combined.

The brush head comes in two-toned synthetic bristles which is very dense and flat. This makes it a great buffing brush whether you are using liquid or mineral products. It's also very soft and non-scratchy. The only thing I don't really like about it is that it sheds a lot. I'm not sure if I got a bad stock or this happens in general. Good thing, shedding is only evident during bath time and not during makeup application. It would be really annoying having to pluck out hairs while doing your makeup routine.

As I have mentioned, I knew I liked it so much before that I kept on using it for almost any base products I own. It works and blends makeup very well with zero streaks. It also gives medium to full coverage. It was left untouched in my vanity area when I got introduced to other buffing brushes like the Morphe M439 BufferSigma F80 KabukiReal Techniques Expert Face BrushShiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, Sedona Lace Flat Top Buffer and many more. I like buffing brushes, just so you know. ;)

This is purely vegan so the bristles are synthetic and is soft to the skin. They say that synthetic bristles are better for liquid products but it works for powders too. It blends makeup seamlessly and I couldn't say anything bad about its performance. It's truly worth investing in! The price is steep for a single brush so I would suggest you get an entire set so you can save more. Not only you're able to save some bucks, you will also discover other great brushes from the brand!

Here’s Where You Should Shop Jeans If You’re Petite

Most brands and shops only sell jeans that are sizes 25 and above. I have a small built, 5'0 flat in height, XXS-S in size and 23-24 in waist measurement. Standard sizes don't usually fit me and I always need to go an extra mile in looking for denims that would really fit. I usually opt for body-hugging jeans because (1) First, lose ones make me look thinner; (2) Tight jeans makes my legs look slimmer and longer; (3) There's no need for belts and easy to pair with almost any tops for a casual look. You know, comfort over style.

This is not a sponsored post nor was sent products for feature by Puffmnl. You know just how I love shopping all my stuff from online shops and after so many trials and errors, I get to have a trusted shop where I buy my denims from. They do not only sell standard-sized jeans, they also cater to those who have petite frames that has a built as small as a 22-waisted girl!

What I love about this shop is that the seller is too accommodating and she always values customer satisfaction. She grants almost every wish as possible and is making sure that what she sells are top-notch for its price. As mistakes are inevitable, communicating it to her is the best thing to do. She will do what it takes to make you satisfied--shipping a newer and damage-free item as an exchange, or refund your payment immediately.

Puffmnl sells overrun jeans ranging from P300 and above depends on the design. Quality are almost the same and whatever makes the jeans not pass quality control, is very unnoticeable. Their high-waist jeans fits so perfectly for small girls like me because it's not too high waist-ed (just enough to cover the belly button) nor too long in the ankle part. The jeans are also a bit stretchy but not too much as they do not lose their shape and fit for a long time.

Most of the overrun stores I stumbled with sells the same kind of jeans for P500 and above. This is the only online shop that sells inexpensive but good-fitting and quality denims. From skinny-fitting, straight to mom and boyfriend jeans, Puffmnl got it for you! You might want to cart them fast and make a purchase because their items sell out real fast!

#SomeoneAsks Why I Always Wear Neutrals

Hi, everyone! I wanted to start a new series here on my blog entitled "Someone Asks..."--the idea is that I will be answering random (and even weird) questions asks by anyone wherein I have explanations on. It will also depend on the inquiries if I feel like they need thorough reasoning (odiba, defensive ang peg lol) or even interesting in a way that others may learn from it as well. Anyway, here's how it started...

Some of my neutral favorites. Believe me, I have more of these than the printed/colorful ones.

Ever since I started working, I became inclined to the idea of wearing professional-looking clothes to project something like a more matured appearance. I know I can easily ace this if I wear something like a dress paired up with a blazer, even dainty skirts paired with blouses. However, I am not fond of wearing contemporary pieces like those since I don't find them comfortable for daily wear. What attract me most are snug-fitting jeans, a simple plain shirt or a monotonic textured one paired up with neutral shades of bag and shoes.

Now, you might be thinking I dress like dead. :(

Don't get me wrong, I like wearing pastels, floral and printed apparels as well to showcase that 'kikay' in me but it's very seldom since I am always too lazy to pick up shades and try to look for the best match for them. As time goes by, I learned the art of mixing and matching printed to the neutral pieces I have and fortunately, come up with decent looks.

Neutrals like white, gray and black go with almost anything

Still, the easiest way for me to dress up is to find a white, gray or black shirts since they go easily with almost anything, whether a denim shorts, skirts or jeans without looking a little off the dress code. Moreover, if you paired this simple tops with a gold or a silver Casio watches, or even stainless jewelries and stylish bags, you will already look like a girl with class--someone just told me.

Diclaimer: I am not really a fashion guru. I have my own comfort and style. I do not follow the trend very much. And I experiment with the few pieces I have. :D

My Kind of Dressing Up A Classic but Trendy Outfit

To be honest, I came up with a blog post like this because I'm kind of in a lazy mode right now but I want to update my blog and had to think of the most convenient topic I can write about without consuming much time in photography (my camera is low in battery). And then, voila, I have spare photos of myself wearing my creative photo outfit which were shots needed for my graduation. In my recent graduation post, I mentioned there that I will write a separate post about the outfit I wore for my creative shot. So...without further ado, here it is!

It was a day before the photo shoot and I haven't much thought about what to wear for my creative shot. I was not supposed to prepare anything 'creative' because I saw some schoolmates in their creative shots and they were only wearing basic casual outfits. I thought it's not something I should exert extensive effort not until my friends, in our group chat, kept borrowing stuff from each other. Those were not something you could easily pull off from one's wardrobe unless she's a model or a superstar. They even went to thrift shops to score some amazing finds and that was it! I was pressured!

I haven't had that much time preparing for something that would at least be a match for their creative outfits, I was hopeless but decided to still give this a shot. I rummaged through my wardrobe, get some pieces I rarely wear and combine everything. I spotted the brown classic blazer I got from my mom--it's something I never used but really liked--and decided to have this as part of my motif. For me, it's really a beautiful piece from the 90's, sewn when I wasn't even born but was meant for me and I never thought there will come a time that I'll reach for it.

I know this will be the last time I'm getting photographed for my graduation, so I feel like wearing this white muscle tee I got from Artwork months ago which says Write Right Write. That's what I'm doing! Again, I never thought I'd reach for it as this was also my first time using it!

I can clearly see that my outfit would be a timeless piece but I want to wear this trendy skirt I got for only P120! Believe me, the quality's far from it's price tag! Anyway, it became clearer to me, I want something that is classic but with a touch of modernity. I think my outfit does not look creative for some, but I thought about it well enough, I planned a little for it, that for me, it's creative already. Especially when I paired it with a classic leather belt (I never thought I'd use) my mom and dad bought me. It's the first time I wore the leather belt from Beverly Hills and again, I'm glad I did not give it or throw it away. Such a nice touch to the outfit, right? Even the watch I wore was well-thought of. It was a classic piece from Casio and which compliments all gold buttons.

I was supposed to wear my Converse high-cut white leather sneakers, but decided to settle for a camel-colored boots instead which I borrowed from a friend on the spot. For me the boots are already a combination of what I am trying to create--classic and trendy.

So...what do you think of this look? Please tell me if you decided to recreate this outfit!

Part 2: Half The Price Clothing Collection Haul!

I've been bored to death this semestral break that's probably why I am here today. And oh, by the way, I changed my blog template to a simple one because most of my gadgets on the sidebar seem to not be working well. Please, help me find a website designer or developer so I can purchase a new customized layout! I can't really do html thing blah.

Moving forward, I really do hope everybody's doing well and are safe especially with this typhoon Lawin going on and such. To provide a little entertainment here especially to those who are self-proclaimed shopaholic and fashionistas out there, let me share to you my recent HTP clothing haul which I got from their previous collection! Please note that this post is not in anyway sponsored. As such, clothes are bought with my own money. I did not purchase everything on the main shop though, some were from resellers, others were swapped etc. Anyway, I'll just say where I get them when we get there! Lol.

And now for my haul! Sorry if I was just making you see the teaser as I can't let you see the whole outfit so you would not know it's it when you see me wear them lol. I don't know if I'm making any sense, but, oh well.

Pull-On Pocket Skirt, P250

This pocket skirt is something that I think would go well with almost anything be it crop top, sweater, tees, etc because of its chic yet sporty look. However, it looks quite large for my body frame so I am just selling it. Should HTP come up with smaller sizes, bam, I wouldn't miss it for the world!

Elephant Romper, P260

With the romper trend, I'm starting to feel that what people like about them is how convenient they are to wear everyday. With this, you get a pair already so you save time looking for top and bottom. So you guessed, I jumped into the bandwagon and bought myself this. The fabric of this romper, which happened to be challis, is super soft to the touch. It is something you can wear comfortably with the humid weather we have in the Philippines.

White Lace Top, P199

This top really looks elegant with the lace and lining though I prefer it more in darker shades rather than looking so pure in white. I really hope HTP would produce it in different shades like off-white or camel maybe?

Letters Bodycon Dress, P150 (on sale)

The overall print of this bodycon dress looks so casual at the same time very stylish. The fabric is thick and is not super stretchy that you wouldn't lose the figure. I could imagine myself wearing this with a denim polo or jacket or probably a gray cardigan over it.

Navy Blue Tie Cutout, P150

I had to buy this top because it was love at first sight--what I felt for it. Every cut seem so stylishly seamed, even the fabric is of good quality! I bet when purchased on malls, it is worth a thousand more!

White BKK Tee, P149

When buying clothes, I cannot just get myself to choose style over comfort. That is why I always keep something basic like a wear-everyday tees on my closet for lazy days. Good thing, HTP sells this high quality v-neck top in color white. I got the large one because I know it will feel a lot more comfortable when worn. Did you know that I prefer loose over fit?

Navy Blue Georgette Off-Top, P199

This top has a good quality fabric, even the design could certainly pass mall standard. I don't know what else to say. I love this off-shoulder top with its georgette fabric! So classy and fab!

Knit Pocket Blazer, P250

This knit pocket blazer is so in! This reminds me very well of fall where people dresses with knits and sweaters. Sadly, we're not gifted with fall. Anyway, for people like me who loves fall clothing, this is your ultimate life saver! Because it does not come with fitted long sleeves (3/4/ or 3/5 only), it still feels okay even during hot days. And I believe that it's a really exclusive design, I did not see anything alike before! Unique!

Off White Knit Tee, P199

I got this knit tee from a fellow Instagram seller when we swapped items. You know...the idea of swapping things so you acquire new things in return. Well, apparently, they could be preloved stuff but I think this one is new when I got it. What can I say, I love it! I would trade most of my items to have this!

"Uniqlo" Fabric Top, P199

At first, I thought I would not like it upon seeing it worn by one of the HTP models. I think it will not fit me but lo and behold! It's got the softest fabric I have touched, it feels so cool on skin and stretches like meters! Truly like a Uniqlo top! Super good quality indeed! I love it!

White U-Neck Tee, P140

There's actually one more but the photograph fails to be uploaded. Anyway, the last top is in color white with a neoprene fabric. The fit was awesome, the fabric too, gosh, it just wears comfortably and I like it so much!

If you notice, all the stuff I bought were in neutral shades, none of those bright, colorful clothes, because I just feel like it. I want white and black and gray, blue, yes, because for me, they look so classy even when they are just basics.

Some of the stuff I bought from HTP were not here since I have been selling them online either because they do not look good/does not fit on me or I changed my mind about even wanting them on my closet. By the way, you could see them when you visit my Instagram (@fashbeaubyhanna) and Shopee (@hannapoleng) accounts.

Part 1: Half The Price Clothing Collection Haul!

Hi, guys! So lately, I stopped buying skin care and makeup products because I have to punish myself for the delay in reviewing sponsored products. This is also another way to ensure that nothing is left to promises. As promised, I would be doing reviews to each of the products my generous sponsors gave me. Anyway, I thought I could refrain myself from spending much, but here I am buying more clothes than usual. Heck, I can't help jumping into the bandwagon every time fashion enthusiasts would hurry to comment mine from the HTP collection just to get first dibs on their quality pieces of clothing and which are also considered to be exclusively sewn pieces. Seriously, I can't help stopping myself from doing anything for an hour just to focus on commenting "Mine" on their clothes.

For your information, HTP or Half The Price is a booming Instagram shop catering to fashionistas out there! They sell not just high quality products but trendy pieces as well for a cheaper price! They also have different collections every week and only upload them every 8:00 PM of Saturday and Sundays. If you never wanna miss out on their "steal" items, better hurry in reserving yours seconds after publishing their post! Sometimes, no, most of the time, it only takes 5 seconds for them to get sold out. Here, you will be able to exercise your ninja skills. Lol. Anyway, without further ado, here are the pieces I got from them from the recent collections. I will be including the prices for your reference.

I will be posting my Part 2: Half The Price Clothing Collection Haul once I got hold of my latest purchases from them. Hoho! By the way, these are not yet everything I have right now, a couple of tops are already in the laundry, some, however, are open for reservations. Just because I am selling them does not mean that I don't like them any less, they wouldn't just fit me well. Too big for girls with petite frames, I guess. Anyway, that's all! Til my next post! Happy blogging!

Cheap Finds Series: Clothing Haul July 2016

Last month, I went on a mini shopping (let's exclude all the makeup and skincare), partly because I seriously have nothing else to wear beside my favorite basics and partly because I am stressed with all the school stuff and such. I am the type of person kasi who prefers to wear simple and comfortable pieces of clothing. I don't mean the outdated ones though. But I am still careful in what I wear especially since I started blogging. I like to look stylish in a conservative way, if you know what I mean.

High Waist Jeans (P240 each)
Bought from: @herdreamfactory on Shopee

The first on my list are high-waist jeans--definitely one of the trendiest nowadays. I got them from Shopee (@herdreamfactory) when I spotted them on sale at 56% off! Originally one pair of pants retails for over P500 but I got them for only P240 the reason I purchased two in royal blue and light blue. My friend got two as well, except she got a black one and a royal blue.

Chicabooti Dress (P379)
Bought from: Chicabooti
The moment I saw this dress, I immediately imagine myself wearing this on a beach season because it is backless. It is just that I don't wear revealing clothes as is. Either I wear a cardigan on top or a fitted long sleeves under. I was just so lucky to get this at no over P400 when its original price is P800 something!

Printed Romper (P379)
Bought from: Chicabooti

I am currently into printed pieces so I got this one. I don't know but I think this romper suits me well and I just can't leave the shop without it. I even fitted this thrice! My goodness!

Gray Cardigan (P379)
Printed Cropped Top (P279)
Bought from: Chicabooti

For me, gray can go with any colored top or dress, what do you think? It's mainly the reason why I got this. I can instantly put this on top of my clothes and off I go. The cropped top, on the other hand, feels super comfortable when worn so I think I could rely on it on my lazy days. Plus, it's got a nice fabric, neither thin nor thick.

Striped Turtle Neck Top (P279)
White Muscle Tee (P99)
Bought from: Chicabooti (1st), Artwork (2nd)

I think the first top is a simple yet very stylish top that can go effortlessly sexy with anything--be it jeans, shorts, skirts, etc. It's got a woven fabric which does not feel warm when worn. The white muscle tee, on the other hand, is my favorite since it's got a statement which I definitely can relate to! I love writing and I am so lucky to get the last piece of this from Artwork! Both are also on sale so hoard much! Ahm, all the stuff I got were on sale, by the way!

And those are the collective cheap/on sale clothes I got last July! Care to share yours? Weeee!

Let's Talk About Wearing Neutral

Okay, this would be my second time posting something about fashion. For one thing, I love dressing up, mixing and matching color and creating different outfits, thus maximizing the capability of a single (or say couple of) fashion piece to add an enormous oomph to an outfit. However, no matter how hard I aim for better photographs and backgrounds, I guess my lack of resources and time just put me in a place where I can only afford to offer average quality and creativity. This is for now, I promise to get better at it. So...hope you can enjoy!

My Saturdays (wash days at school) most of the time are a combination of jeans and cute tops and sneakers. None of those glamorous sleeveless tops and dresses, leather jackets or heels. Oh c'mon, I don't want to be a little overboard with my fashion preference as it's just forschool. Fashion won't help me in studying naman, right? But still, I would like to look presentable and that way, I could be more confident.

So last Saturday, here's what I wear. I so love neutral shades of tops like grays, who would not? They are so simple yet stylish and...they are too easy to pair up with almost anything. So if you are in a hurry, choose gray. They say you could never go wrong with black. I add gray.

We are having a mini photo shoot here because of our presentation for Organizational Communication. By the way, thank you to Elisha and Randy for my makeup and Lyn for my hair. Hahahah!

This outfit, I say, is perfect if you just want to sport comfortable clothing without comprising the look of trend and style. And by the way, I got my top and pants for a very low, low price! Check them out below! Til my next blog post!

Love,
Hanna
