Laneige Clear C Peeling Mask Review

Laneige Clear-C Peeling Mask
Bought for: P1,070/ 70ml
Bought from: Althea Korea

In my previous posts, I tackled about the Laneige Clear-C Advance Effector Ex and how it helped me clear out my skin. From that moment, I got an interest with the rest of the products in the same line. When I did a huge haul last April, I made sure to pick this one up which has been in my long list of to-buy from the website.

The result? Smooth, supple skin that's plump and radiant, our absolute fave!

HOW TO USE

On clean skin, apply a small amount onto the skin to evenly coat it, gently massaging in circular motions for a few minutes, before rinsing off with water.

PACKAGING

Product comes in a white cardboard box with blue and pink touches. There's nothing much on it so let's move forward. Once you open the box, there are tiny leaflets containing more information about the product and other similar skincare from the same line. This is typical of Laneige. I appreciate this because I get to know the product more and it also gives me an idea on how and which I can use it with.

Like most Laneige product, Clear-C Peeling Mask has a luxurious packaging. It's very similar to their Special Care Water Sleeping Mask except the jar is frosted pink. Be careful though because it's fragile and it has weight to it. It comes with an inner seal for extra protection and a plastic spatula for hygiene purposes. Eventually though, I lost it and decided to just use my fingers which is uhm, not very sanitary. I love the packaging and all, don't get me wrong, but closed containers are still much preferred plus they are more travel-friendly. Agree?

SCENT, TEXTURE AND EASE OF APPLICATION

Product is somewhat thick and creamy. It has real strawberry seeds and konjac jelly granules that adds up to the product's soft consistency. It's such an amazing experience to play with except it's expensive so never mind, no wasting please.

The texture actually reminds me of hydrogel water marbles I used to play with when I was still a kid. The gelatinous texture of squashed water marbles is very similar to the texture of this product. Okay, you get the point lol. Anyway, when mixed with strawberry seeds, it makes a very fine and gentle face scrub/mask that doesn't scratch or over-exfoliate the skin.

Using this product is an absolute fuss-free experience because the products rinses off very easily, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. It smells of something unusual like citrus but I don't mind.

PERFORMANCE

I'm kind of torn whether I consider it a scrub or mask but the good thing about this product, I guess, is the fact that it can multitask as both. Again, the creamy consistency and exfoliating factor makes it a good mask to remove dead skin cells and excess dirt and oil. Adding strawberry seeds to it aids in faster removal as it requires physical application. Good thing, it's not as abrasive as other physical scrubs in the market.

Using it 2-3 times a weeks is really helpful in maintaining that soft and smooth skin. A tiny amount is enough to cover the face and neck so one jar will definitely last you a very long time. I just don't think that it does more than softening the skin so I'm kind of on the fence whether or not I'd repurchase. It does nothing to help cure the unevenness of my skin tone nor even improve marks I have. Thinking about the price tag though, I don't think it's worth it.

If you have very minimal skin issues and just looking for a good exfoliating mask, go for it. Just make sure not to use it with other acids and this contains AHA already. This is to avoid any adverse reactions.
