Lens Circle Cafe Grey Waffle Circle Lens - $34.95 (NOW $29.95)
Lens Circle World Grey Circle Lens - $34.95 (NOW $29.95)
I am very much excited to share with you my experience with Lens Circle. If you don't know, this is going to be the first time I'm gonna wear some contact lenses. Is is so shocking? I've been blogging for more or less four (4) years now but still haven't had the guts to try wearing one until Lens Circle reached out to me for a sponsored post. I was quite nervous at first, yes, but I was also super stoked because I was finally learning how to apply it! If it's your first time too, in this blog, I will teach you how.
So Lens Circle is generous sending me two (2) pairs of contact lenses—one from the Cafe (Grey Waffle) and one from the World (Grey) series. Since I always think gray looks great in the eyes, I picked up two pairs that are both tinted as such. I believe contact lens comes in two (2) classes in terms of the measurement which are the Circle Lens and Regular Lens. I'm not very much sure about this but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The former will make your eyes look bigger as the outer rim is also tinted while the latter is more natural-looking, colors only the iris and is ever so slightly less tinted. This is why I got one from each so I can also compare both in terms of the look and comfort.

PACKAGING
When I went to the post office to get the parcel, I immediately opened them up. I was really curious why I received a notice when I haven't bought anything from an overseas shop. I was surprised it was my most-awaited pairs of contact lens. They are placed inside this cute animal print pouch and are also well-secured.
Upon checking the items, the contact lens comes in well-secured tiny glass bottles and I had a hard time opening them up as I lack the idea that most contact lenses are supposed to be housed like this. I am glad there are proof of authenticity and they are properly labeled. When I watched a Youtube video about proper lens usage, they mentioned that lenses are labeled left and right. Anyway, these does not have any degrees so it's probably whatever you pick up first.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Now this is what I'm telling you about. I spent over 10 minutes figuring out how to open these bottles. The white cap as seen on the above picture, is actually attached to the aluminum seal. Once you pull it open, make sure to pull it downwards until you completely tear the aluminum seal in one side. Grab something small and pointed to remove the rest of the seal. Now be careful as it's sharp and pointed enough to cut your fingers when you put a little pressure so for the hundredth time, be careful.
Once you pull the white rubber open, there comes the lens submerged in a solution. You can just simple grab a small jar to pour the solution into so you can get the lens or (now this is what I recommend), get a cotton bud and grab the lens from the inside. It's more hygienic and will make sure that the lens won't get scratched or torn. And for the record, before anything else, make sure your hands are super clean and dry. Disinfect with 70% solution alcohol.
Make sure to get the lens case and pour some solution about half full. These are labeled left and right so you have to make sure you are putting the lens to the right container. This is to avoid inflammations and damages to the other eye in case you get eye problems in the future.
Here's the solution I bought from an optical shop in SM North. Solutions are a must-keep step to ensure your lenses are moisturized and clean. Always use the solution pre and post application.
OVERALL PERFORMANCE
Since this is my first time, I kind of expect it would take me minutes or probably hours before success. Turns out, it wasn't bad at all. I had teary eyes on first two tries but I finally got used to it. I think the greatest challenge was applying the circle lens (Cafe) as it's slightly bigger than the regular one (World). My eyes is quite small so at first my thought was "Oh no, this won't fit". Overtime, I figured out looking down from the mirror (instead of looking straight) allows the lens to get easy access to the eyes. As expected, they adjusted to the center automatically with a few blinks. So no need to worry if the lens was improperly placed.

Another struggle I encountered was the lens inability to adhere to the eyes in one go. I had to apply several solutions just because I think the lens gets and gets dirty from being exposed to the air and skin. Later on, I found out too much solution actually makes things harder. I learned to drip the excess solution with the help of the back of my hand before finally slipping through the lens to the center of my eyes. As with the proper hand application, I couldn't say anything because I think you should do what you are most comfortable to do when applying the lenses.
To remove, you can use a few drops of an eye solution to wet the eyes. The best way to remove it is to slightly move the lens to the white side of the eyes and pinch. Always apply the lens before applying makeup and remove it before cleansing the makeup. I don't know, it's just easy that way lol.
