KKOT Essence Lip Tint Balm Review

KKO:T Essence Lip Tint Balm
Bought for: Free | SRP: P550 (but they are currently on sale!)
From: Beauty N Style Seoul

Claims: KKO:T (pronounced as /kot/) essence lip tint balm is a Korean transparent lipstick. It is a combination of tint and lip balm. It uses high-quality lip balm formulation from Japan, which is recognized worldwide, to enhance the quality and transparency of the lipstick. The natural dry flower was put in the lip balm, so you can enjoy vibrant colors as well as feel natural-cool scents. You can enjoy a nice, natural flavor in addition to the natural-coloring that lasts.

Have you heard of a color-changing lip balm with preserved flower inside? Sounds cute, right? I recently discover this innovative lip balm from a Korean brand, Kko:t. What I find really interesting about it is the fact that it is color-changing, thus the name 'lip tint balm' and has a preserved flower that you can clearly see from its packaging. It's not my first time using a color-changing balm but there's something really nice about this product which I will be talking about in the next few paragraphs.

The main ingredients of this product are sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, squalane, tocopherol that provides instant moisture to dry and rough lips. Lip balms are really a staple in my skin care routine because I have super dry lips. Drinking lots of water everyday does not help either. So if I have something to invest on for my lips, that would be a good lip moisturizer--forget about lipsticks or tints.

PACKAGING

Apart from the dried flower inside as one of its feature, KKO:T comes in a clear plastic retractable lip packaging. Sure, I can see the product inside but I prefer if this comes in a sleek opaque container just to mimic its price. I like though that it has this box so I can prevent scratches when in storage. Despite the Korean writings on it, I appreciate that it has English Translations below.

This lip tint balm comes in four colors--aside from the pink one, it comes in violet, blue and yellow as well. I have no idea though if the color payoff are just the same.

SCENT

This product has a subtle scent of strawberry and floral scents which lingers a few more minutes after application.

TEXTURE / EASE OF APPLICATION

The product comes in a clear form and has a very lightweight formulation, I would say. In terms of formulation and ease of application, this is the best among those I have tried so far. It glides effortlessly on the lips once swiped and instantly gives a slightly tinted flush to it. Color payoff will depend on your actual lip color and how much you put on. If you want to have bright pink lips, go ahead and swipe it a few more times. If you want to have natural-looking pink lips though, two to three swipes will be enough. What I like about it is that a single application is already sufficient to moisturize parched lips without any stickiness or greasiness just like other lip balms give. It just unbelievably wears comfortably on the lips.

PERFORMANCE

A few swipes is good enough to partially hide hyper pigmentation and dark lips. Another thing I love about it is the fact that it did not make my lips dry nor sore. However, don't expect the moisture to last long probably due to its lightweight formulation. I used to apply this more than five times daily and as soon as I drink water, the moisture will be gone (but the stain holds intact. don't worry). Therefore, reapplication is necessary. The lip balm is pretty long and a little goes a long way already. I just don't imagine myself consuming everything 'çause I don't want to touch the flower haha!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

The main selling feature might be the dried flower but if you get to try this, you will love the texture of the lip balm. I can't describe it perfectly but it's so soft, light and comfortable on the lips--there's just something unique about it. I can also layer it under lip sticks or cream which are kind of hard to spread on the lips. There will be times when all you would want is this and some douse of powder.

For the price point though, I am very hesitant if I would repurchase because I find it a little too high for my budget right now lol. But overall, I would say this lip tint balm is pretty much a steal and I highly recommend it to everyone!
