Leiania House of Beauty Sun Glow Sun Block Gel with Natural SPF 15

Summer's fast approaching, I'm pretty sure as I am already feeling that familiar heat. Don't you? This is the time that we all should get something better to trust our skin with--sunscreen that would protect our layers from sun's harmful UV rays and further skin damage. I know that everyone would have their fair share of summer escapades but do not take your skin for granted. I don't say that when summer's over, skip the sunscreen part already. No, what I am trying to tell you is that since summer's coming, our skin will probably get exposed to the sun a lot so take this time to amp up on SPF products. Don't brave UV rays without sunblock, you may never know when you'll catch skin cancer.

This summer, one of the sunscreen I would love to use everyday is the Leiania House of Beauty Sun Glow Sun Block Gel with Natural SPF 15!

Sun Glow Sun Block Gel with Natural SPF 15 30ml
Bought for: Free (P295)

Actives: Sodium Hyaluronate: Hyaluronic Acid is a natural humectant that can plump the skin and hydrate for targeted moisturization of dry areas, normal to dry skin or skin with dehydrated areas. Green Tea and Rooibus Extract: Green Tea (Camelia Sinesis Leaf Extract) is almost a victim of it own success. Its antioxidant properties have become so well known that itappears in just about every lotion and potion out there. Just as we were in danger of becoming complacent, there is a new reason venerate this humble leaf. Scientists have discovered that it is an effective sunscreen--even at low doses. It has been known for sometime (with a body of literature to back it up) that green tea can protect the skin from UV rays. This is because it contains catechins. These are signaling molecules that belong to the flavenoid family. About 25% of the weight of a tea leaf is accounted for by catechins. The most abundant type of catechin in green tea is called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and this is the one that provides sun protection.
Natural Ingredients: Aqua, Fresh Aloe Vera Extracts, Zinc Oxide(non-nanosize),Witch Hazel Flower Extracts, Vitamin B3 Niacinamide, Cyclopentasiloxane, *Green Tea Extracs, *Green Rooibus Extracts, Grapeseed Oil, Sodium Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Phenoxyethanol (and) Capylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid. *Organic Ingredients

Okay, that was quite an explanation.
Guys, I just want to emphasize that people, whether you're a girl or a boy, should wear sun block every day, every season. I haven't been twenty years older but the testimonials of those who did put and didn't put sunblock just make me want to start a campaign about the importance of using SPF products.

That being said, there are lots of sunscreen brands available in the market and you can't just go grab and pay it on the counter. You have to make sure that it's free from harmful ingredients (Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, etc) so you know that what you're getting yields the best possible results. Good thing, Leiania House of Beauty Sun Glow Sun Block Gel with Natural SPF 15 is made from all natural and organic ingredients. This made it a cut above the rest since I am very particular with ingredients.

It looks like plain creams that is somehow runny with some solidified specks which you can actually see in person when blended. I hope my picture's giving it some justice. Huhu!

It also has an off smell like baby milk scent (?). I mean, babies smell good but...ugh...I don't like the scent of this product which is not of a big concern naman. Also, it is not greasy to the touch which is super okay with me as I have very oily skin and did not trigger further breakouts. And the name suggests it is a sun block gel when it's more of a cream in texture. Another thing I find not so great about it is the low SPF of only 15. I mean if it's for blocking UV rays, should it have at least a higher SPF content like at least 30? Because that's the suggested one.

I have tried using this over and under (two different experiments) my favorite Quick FX No-shine mattifier and it DOES NOT blend well, rather creating fall outs so I ended up applying Quick FX again. I tried combining this with Leiania House of Beauty BB + CC Glow Creme and it still won't get blended. I guess, this best applied alone.

What I love:
  • Moisturizing
  • Brightening
  • Hydrating
  • Non-greasy
  • Made of natural and organic ingredients
  • Affordable at P295
  • Hygienic pump bottle
  • Packaging has all the information needed
What I don't like:
  • Has an off smell
  • Has solidified specks
  • Creates white cast
  • Low sun protection
  • Hard to blend
Overall, this is an okay product. Aside from it being an organic and natural-infused skin treat, I see no other special thing about it and sorry to say this, but I'd rather use Leiania BB + CC Glow Creme as it has a higher SPF content and yields a brighter complexion.

Love,
Hanna
